Mail app Signature!!!!

Is there any app that can let me insert a picture as a signature on my mail app, but make it as default, i mean not having to enter the app every time I want the signature copied as a clipboard, a built in app?

Just realised this is referring to iPhones... it was in my 'Related questions' box when I was looking at mac questions. Whoops.
There's an iPhone app called email signature pro, but it won't change your native iOS email signature.

  • Has anyone else had an issue where Mail.app signatures and rules disappeared?

For unknown reasons, I lost all my Mail.app signatures and Rules on Oct 10, 2012 at about 9:00AM PST.
Anybody else see something like this?
Also, I am getting sandboxd warnings that are Mail preference related....
I am guessing that the preferences access error that the sandboxd is having is related but who knows...
Anybody seen these kinda log messages?

I think this is an issue with the phone's proximity sensor (the one that turns the screen off when you hold it up to your ear). It's a bug that seems to occur when you switch to another app (any app) while still on a phone call. You'll notice in Messages that the screen goes dark when you move your thumb over the earpiece/iSight camera, but not when you move your other thumb.
Simplest solution is to force-quit the Messages app (double-click the home button, and swipe up on the app). The problem should resolve itself when you restart Messages.

  • Mail.app & signatures. Is there a limit to the content or number?

we run a printing company and wanted to take advantage of our mail.app to tag on other services we offer. we wanted to do a random, rotating list of 40 or so signatures. Each with a different pdf featuring a different product. But it seems that when we use the signature feature, emails are not received, they seem to go out on our end, but never received by anyone. No signature, no problem. I've even tried deleting all the signatures and going back to just text. as long as the signature is set to none the email goes. Does anyone know what's going on?

Did you check to see if any of the recipients had filters in place to ignore or delete HTML emails, or emails with attachments? If not, that could be the issue. Have you tried testing these by sending messages from one of your email accounts to a different one to see if you receive them?
As for a limit, there might be, but Apple has never stated that there is, so unless you reach a point where it refuses to accept or use a particular signature, I'd have to guess the answer is 'No'. There'd be no point in limiting content, since as long as an email uses valid HTML or CSS markup, you should be able to include it in a signature; but testing before actually using is always advised.

  • Mail.app: Signatures Won't Save in one POP Account

    Hi,
Looked high and low for a solution to this. Searched Apple discussions and macosxhints and googled the problem but so far no joy. This is not a major problem but it is quite annoying.
There are multiple email accounts set up in Mail.app (Version 3.6 (936)) on my MacBook Pro, running Mac OS 10.5.8. All except one account will save all my signatures. In all I have ten signatures, all of which disappear between launches of mail from a POP gmail account. I add them back at each launch and the next time I open Mail they're gonzo. So, I add them back again. I tried moving the placement of the account in the side-bar, still no-go. I have set Mail.app prefs not to apply the sigs automatically. I choose when and if I use a signature.
To add them I do as I have done to the other email accounts: select all of them and drag and drop them onto the email account in the Signature pane of Mail.app's preferances.
More info: all the sigs are all rtf formatted, most of the accounts are POP, though three are IMAP. No other account is affected except this one gmail account (I have other gmail POP accounts and other non-gmail POP accounts. This is the second to oldest POP account. The problem has only occurred since a recent Apple security update. Though I can't say that is the problem or just a coincident.
If all else fails, just as a work-around, is there an "applescriptable" way to add sigs to mail?
    Thanks

    I'm afraid I don't have a solution, but I do have a similar problem...
Since upgrading to Mountain Lion none of my signatures will stay where I put them, or they disappear. Previous to the upgrade everything was working perfectly.
I'll assign a signature to a particular e-mail address and usually within a day, when I go back to send an e-mail from that address there is no signature available to be selected in the e-mail composing window. When I check in Mail Prefs I see that the signature has disappeared completely from the e-mail address to which it was assigned and is now listed under "All Signatures", but these are not available to any of the e-mail addresses when composing e-mails.
An identical problem occurs on another iMac I use in my office, which is also synced with iCloud.
I've tried a number of times to delete all the signatures and start again, both on one computer and on both, but nothing seems to work.
    Does anyone have any ideas?...

  • Mail.app signatures and rules gone after update

After updating to OS X 10.9.4 and Mail.app 7.3 all my mail signatures and rules are gone.
If I now recreate those rules and signatures they are gone when I restart.
I have tried repairing permissions in disk utility. It has not restored my lost configurations nor does it allow me to maintain preferences across restarts.
I do not have Time Machine backups, all my data is with Google. The only things on my computer which are not on Google are things like this Mail client configuration.
Has anyone else lost this configuration and been able to restore it?

  • IPhoto Corrupting Mail.app Signatures

As a PGP user, I attach a copy of my public key to the signature of my emails. I have just started using iPhoto and have found that if one uses the email function from iPhoto (which exports the selected picture to a mail compose pane) then the attached file in the signature becomes corrupted: it loses its correct file type, becoming a generic 'document' entitled 'Unknown'.
This does not seem to be an issue with the .asc file format PGP uses.
After some testing this morning, I found that the same occurs if one has .pdf, .txt, or .rtf files in one's mail signature.
I would be interested to know:
    1. If others know of a solution/workaround for this problem, or
    2. if others can confirm that this problem occurs on their systems (and if so, which versions of Mail, iPhoto and the system are being used).
I'd like to know if this is a replicable problem with others before lodging a bug report with Apple.

  • Mail.app signature bug

I'm attempting to edit a rather massive email signature on my iPhone 4 which I need for work (16 lines) and I have found that after I attempted to re-edit it, that I was no longer able to view the editing box on the screen fully.  The screen had jammed the box past the top status bar.  A reboot resulted in the box being a bit lower, but it was still flowing off the top of the screen rather than below the on screen keyboard.
Has anyone else encountered this or have a potential solution aside from shortening the signature?

Evidently, letting my phone turn off then going to unlock it which hid the keyboard was the solution.  Once I tapped on the screen, the box moved down and I was able to edit the signature without any (more) annoyances.

  • Mail.app, Link on signature-icon does not open URL

    In a mail-signature I have a FaceBook-icon with a Hyperlink to a FaceBook-site.
    - This link works not in a received message, when the recipient is Mail.app on Yosemite.
    - With Mail.app on Mavericks it works well.
    Behaviour:
    - Double-Click opens the attached picture, but not the URL in the browser, as expected.
    - URL ist shown correctly on MouseOver
... sometimes, condition are not reproducible ....it works :-(
To create the link I used the method as described at.  http://mac-fusion.com/clickable-social-media-icons-in-your-mail-app-signature/
    Can anybody confirm this behavior?
Any workaround in creating the Hyperlink - or is it a bug?

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Temporarily Disable Signatures in Mail App?

In the Mail app, I have only one account, bhabecker. I have a bazillion signatures that randomly rotate through. I have a Christmas set, and a rest-of-the-year set. Previously (and I don't know when this stopped being the case), I would delete all the siggies out of my bhabecker account and replace them with the Christmas ones that were living in All Signatures. After the holidays, I would delete the Christmas ones from bhabecker and re-add the regular ones from the All Signatures "account". Now, if I delete a siggy in my bhabecker account, it also deletes in All Signatures. I am not able to temporarily inactivate a signature now. It's kind of lame. Is this something I can fix?

In Mail Preferences/Signatures, select this account, and then in the Choose Signature box, select None.

  • Signature in new mail app

so I was using mark up and experimented with the signature
    function . works great
what if I don't have a picture in the email but want to use the same signature I created with mark up to sign my emails,
Is there  a way to do this?

    radman wrote:
Have you tried to use mark up to add a signature to a pic yet?
Its much more intuitive than keeping your picture of your signature stored on a server.
Apple's implementation of the signature function with markup is ingenious. It seems it wouldn't take to many extra lines
of code to carry that same functionality to use as a signature outside of markup. Since markup remembers the signature it created from one
email to the next that image of my signature is already being stored on the mail app
Yes I have tried this new feature to add a scanned hand_signature to a pic attached to email.
This does not seem to address your initial question if I understood it correctly.
the Signature function is limited to text the way I see it in Mail as it stands.
    Maybe I am missing something.

  • Signature Mail.app and picture

    You sure can.
Here are two ways to do this, including an illustrated walk-through from Skype which is easy to follow.

  • OSX Lion Mail.app bug in signatures containing a URL

This is highly reproducable: try adding an image followed by text in a signature in Mail.app. Now select the image and add a url (CMD+K) e.g. to your company website. So far this should look the way you expect. Now click on some other preference, so Mail saves the signature. I have multiple signatures, so I just click any other signature. Click back on the signature you have just created, and notice how all text that came after the image now is underlined.
    Why?
There's a bug in the way Mail saves the webarchive file for the signature (~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Signatures/<blabla>.webarchive. When you open this file, you will find a bunch of binary bla, followed by invalid (see missing quotes in attributes below) HTML, that will contain your image similar to this:
    <a href="http://www.mywebsite.com/">
    <SPAN class="Apple-string-attachment"><OBJECT height=53 width=157 type=application/x-apple-msg-attachment data="cid:[email protected]"></OBJECT></SPAN>
Don't ask me why Mail capitalizes just these tags and not any other tags, but the most important bit is that Mail forgets to add the closing tag </a>, so now everything trailing the image is linked too.
I cannot reproduce this in Safari, so apparently Mail and Safari do not share code here. I have tried what happens when copy/paste a valid rendered HTML file with the appropriate signature text from Safari into Mail, but the result is the same.

also via applescript same beahviour, composing a message and including an attachment after setting the signature make underlined all the text after the first email adress inside the signature.

  • Mail.app losing signatures

Every time I restart or log out of my MBPro, all 58 signatures Mail.app is supposed to keep for my default email account disappear.
I can easily restore them en masse from the "All SIgnatures" list by copying and pasting. But this should not be happening. Is there a .plist file that's responsible?
    MacOS X v 10.5.3.
    Thanks.

I don't know where I found this trick, but it helped in my case...just change the account description (In Preferences>Accounts>Account Information) of the account that loses its associated signatures...avoid dots, dashes and put it as plain as you can...save. Now reassociate the signatures...et voilà
    Hope it helps

Sorry, I can't find a forum here for questions about Apple Mail.

  • How do you cut and paste tables in and out of Excel from either Mail.app or Outlook 2011?

When I try to cut and paste a table generated in Excel for Mac into the body of an email the formatting holds but when I send the table is reduced to one column. Same is true for copying from incoming mail into Excel, when I paste into Excel it is reduced to one column rather than keeping the table format. I have tried using mail.app and went out and Outlook 2011 and both programs have the same issue. The reformatting also happens when I forward an email received from a coworker that contains a table, not just on cut and paste operations.
I need to do this regularly and right now my only option is using my old PC where the cut and paste function keeps formatting between Excel and Outlook just fine. Attaching a pdf or excel file is not an option. There has to be a way to maintain the formatting and being able to extract the tables keeping them intact. Please let me know if you have a solution to maintain this formatting within email programs. Thank you in advance.

Selecting all does not help - the issue is I need a table within an incoming email to be moved to excel, edited and then pasted back into a new email. "Select All" picks up the email headers, signatures, any messages around the table etc so that doesn't work. Also, as pointed out above Excel doesn't have a select all feature to get the tables back into the body of an email.
I just tried again going from Excel into Outlook 2011. No luck. All one column down the left side of the email. All columns are removed and text crammed into one column. Just to check I cut from one Excel document and pasted into another and it retained all formating just fine. It is only in and out of Outlook that seems to be the issue.
