    Hi,
Since I've upgraded to Mountain Lion Mail.app is consuming over 100% of cpu when i'm behind the corporate proxy and my gmail or icloud account isn't accessible. I need to disable all account because the computer become unusable.
Anyone have a workaround on this instead of disabling all mail account ?
    thank you

The bug still open. I've tested 10.8.2 preview and the problem still there.

You can check you Adobe account online to see if the serial number is registered under your account.  If not then your only option will likely be to contact Adobe Support directly thru chat to see if they can provide you with a/the serial number. For them to do so will require you being able to prove ownership.

  • Flash causing abnormally high CPU usage and overheating when browsing internet

    Hello,
Flash Player (Safari Internet plug-in) spikes to 110-120% of my CPU usage while browsing the internet. This also causes my computer to overheat. (This also occurs when using Firefox)
I am running OSX 10.8.4 and I am using Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.94
I have tried uninstalling through the Adobe uninstaller and resetting Safari and my computer.
I contacted apple care and they said it was a problem with Adobe and I needed to contact you guys.
    Thank you for your help.

  • Yosemite Mail.app High CPU Use

Since upgrading to Yosemite, Mail.app frequently spikes multiple cores for an extended period of time. Even background mail checking spikes the CPU load.

Seeing the same issue. The problem, in particular, relates to email sent to me from another Apple Mail user via Exchange. I can view the email on my iPhone or iPad, but not in Apple Mail.
I think, from what I can see in the crash logs, it relates to parsing attachments. (which may just be things like email sig blocks)

  • Photos app high cpu usage

God, after import from iPhoto library, this Photos app constantly has 200-300% CPU usage.
    Any one has this issue?

    I experience a similar issue.
Every time I open Photos.app, this app causes a 100% CPU load.
After about 10 minutes it "drops" to 80% CPU load.
My MacBookPro sounds like a starting JumboJet
After about 25 minutes the CPU load turns back to normal.
Is that behavior normal for Photos.app?
The "old" iPhoto.app never needed that high amount of CPU time.
Has anybody suggestions, how to fix that?
The "photolibraryd" process needs from time to time some CPU time.  Wich seems normal to me.

  • Finder has heavy CPU usage: Causing fan to spin constantly

    Hi,
I recently upgraded to Leopard. The upgrade went perfectly. The only thing thats annoying me is that the FINDER is causing heavy CPU usage which is causing my MacBook's fan to spin constantly. I've figured out that the problem is most likely FINDER from the Activity Monitor (I've found that stopping finder eventually causes the fans to spin down and eventually stop.)
Are other people having this problem, let me know? Is apple aware of this problem and will they fix it?

    Hi
I'm not sure whether this helps, but I've noticed that having icon preview switched on (View - Show View Options) can result in a significant amount of CPU usage if you open a folder containing a large number of files, or a small number of movie files etc. On my older Mac, opening a folder containing a handful of WMV files can result in 20 seconds of 50% CPU usage, as it attempts to replace each generic icon with a content specific icon. I have a hunch it's actually opening QuickTime (and Flip4Mac) transparently in the background to capture a frame from each movie and use it as the icon. In the end I switched icon preview off - by default it seems to be on in Leopard. I guess it's most likely to affect older Macs and laptops, in terms of the CPU percentage required. It also seems to result in a fair bit of disk activity as well, again most likely to affect laptops.

  • 100% CPU Usage caused by HMI

    Hi everybody:
I'm working with LabVIEW DSC 8.2.1 in a system that monitors many variables of a plant, such a typical SCADA system. For this reason, the use of the graphic tools is highly used on the development of this system. Everything works fine, but I have only one problem.... the usage of the CPU.
When I am working on the development system I (not the executable) I start the application and after the variables are initialized and every process has started and are running , the CPU usage is raised around 90 - 100%. After a few days investigating the reason of this, I realized thay when I change the view on the screen to another view, for example the block diagram of the application, while the application is still running, the CPU usage goes around 15 - 25%. I've tried these many times changing the view from Front panel to Block Diagram and viceversa and the result is always the same: Front Panel= around 100%; Block diagram or another view (other applications MMIs, or Block Diagrams, etc.)= around 20%.
Another thing that I realized is that the other view (different to front panel) has to fill the entire screen to work the way I'm telling before.
When I build and run the executable, the usage of the CPU is the same... (around 100%), but I can't see any other application, because the application built is the shell of the OS, so no other views are available.
I don't know if there's some other consideration to take into account about the HMI when creating an application, and I'll appreciate very much your help.
    Thanks in advance!

100 Percent CPU Usage when you run programs after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2
    CPU Usage 100% Symptoms
When you run some programs, the CPU Usage meter in Task Manager may indicate CPU Usage 100%. When CPU utilization reaches 100 percent, programs will run very slowly or stop responding (hang) and your computer is freezing or crashing.
Noteress CTRL+ALT+DEL to view CPU utilization, click Task Manager, and then click the Performance tab.
These symptoms occur after you install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).
    CPU Usage 100% Cause
These problem occurs because of the user interface code that is included in Windows XP SP2. The high CPU utilization is caused by the additional overhead that occurs when the IsWindow function is called by the user interface code.

  • High CPU usage caused by system interrupts [Satellite L50-B-1DG]

Just installed 64bit versions of windows 8.1 & windows 7 on a brand new Satellite L50-B-1DG, and literally without any programs installed, the CPU usage does not fall below 45%.
The windows 8.1 task manager suggests this is caused by system interrupts, so I tried the following without any luck:
    1. installed latest version of all drivers
    2. disabled all devices one by one to trace the root of the interrupts
    3. used latencymon to trace the driver behind the DPCs, and while the program suggests that it is caused by aspi, again I cannot trace which device causes the interrupts (I have already disabled them all)
    4. re-installed windows 8.1/7 multiple times, no difference
So, is this normal? Is this caused by faulty hardware? People with same models notice anything similar?
    Cheers

  • 100% CPU usage, causes background music to stutter//pause

Hey, I asked this question before but didn't find the answer I was looking for.
This issue happens when drawing with the brush (before lifting my wacom pen for the lines to get optimized) or any action where calculations are being made (like skewing).  As I'm drawing lines, the CPU jumps to 100% usage and my sound (playing off a USB sound card) stutters or pauses.  Once I let go of my action, CPU usage comes back down and music resumes.  I just installed new drivers, but the problem persists.  This happened before using a soundcard as well.

    Hi Dave,
I do appreciate the urgency of your situation. Having said that, I would ask you to be patient till your query is resolved. I have forwarded your query to the concerned people at Adobe, and someone should get in touch with you very soon. Meanwhile, I would much appreciate it if you could refrain from commenting on experts who spend precious time trying to help other users. • [SOLVED] dwm Basic Statusbar spikes CPU usage

When I attempt to add battery status to dwm by adding the following to my ~/.xinitrc and start X I get ~100% CPU usage.
    ArchWiki wrote:while true
    do
    acpi | awk '{ print $3, $4 }' | sed s/","//g
    done | exec dwm
When I uncommented the previous lines and left 'exec dwm' cpu usage returns to normal.
Would you happen to know a reason for the increase in usage?

Because it will poll every nanosecond. Put a sleep 10 in there or something
    while true
    do
    acpi | awk '{ print $3, $4 }' | sed s/","//g
    sleep 10

  • Converting to MP3 causes iTunes to Not Respond while using 50% CPU usage and makes my computer stutter

Anytime I attempt to "Createa an MP3 Version" of a track, it will take a REALLY long time to work.
Right now I am attempting to convert an audio book I have which has 88 tracks.  Once I start to convert anything more than 1 track at a time, iTunes immediatly becomes "Not Responding" and takes up about 50% of my CPU the entire time.  It seems like it's doing something in the background but it won't even update the screen anymore, creating weird effects on my screen (Ghost menu bars show up at the top of my screen, etc.).  In addition, once iTunes becomes non-responsive, my entire computer starts to "stutter" meaning that every other second everything momentarily hiccips and stop for a split-second.  This means that while iTunes is converting any multiple MP3 files, if I drag the mouse across the screen, it stops every other second.  Any videos that I try to play pause every other second briefly.  Basically, my computer becomes almost unusable.  Plus, while iTunes is working in the background, different programs randomly jump to the front of the screen.  I will try to be using my web browser while iTunes is working in the background.  Then, suddenly, iTunes pops back up to the foreground in front of my browser (put still won't be responsive to clicks).  My notes program will also flash windows in front of my web browser while surfing, again, only when iTunes is running in the background.
    I really don't understand:
    1.  Why it takes so much time to convert any file to an MP3 file.  Even converting a single track takes a few minutes.  I'll let my Macbook Pro (with Windows) sit for HOURS upon hours trying to convert the 88 track audio book and it always freezes up and never comes back.
    2.  Why iTunes becomes non-responsive so quickly and won't allow the screen to update once it starts "thinking."  It caps out around 50% of my CPU power so it's not like it doesn't have the headroom to refresh the screen while it works.
    3.  Why does iTunes' working in the background affect every other program I am running?  I don't mind if it uses up CPU cycles in the background, but if it makes my computer unusable while doing so, it's really not worth it.
I should state that I love Apple products (even though I use Windows on my MBP for school purposes).  However, I absolutely DREAD having to do anything with iTunes anymore because it has become such a hog on my computer.  Someone please tell me that there is something wrong with my iTunes and/or a setting I should change.  I have already re-installed iTunes from scratch before and that didn't help.

Not a solution, but if the Podcast feed is dormant, why not unsubscribe?
As to the file structure for media on the device it is deliberately obscured as a countermeasure to casual piracy. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. Content put on the iPod by a non-iPod aware product is going to treat it like any external drive. The iPod firmware won't read that media.

  • Xorg - Excessive CPU usage causes massive slowdown.

    Hello there forums.
Ever since the installation of Arch I've had the strange problem of having my Xorg process randomly (but quite frequently) spike up to 100% or somewhere within those reaches. This renders the computer totally unusable (think alsa-mixer lagging like crazy) for an average of two seconds, repeating a couple of times over the next minutes, whereafter it generally gives me a break.

The main problems I see is that my ACPI doesn't seem to kick in and that my synaptics touchpad doesn't work properly (but that's a problem for a different thread).

  • High CPU usage caused by graphics cards visibility problem

I bought a laptop Lenovo G505s with dual graphic AMD Radeon 7640G + 8500M. The graphics cards configuration is totally normal on my Windows 8
, but only the 7640G is visible on Ubuntu:
    ~$ fglrxinfo

OpenGL renderer string: AMD Radeon HD 7640G
OpenGL version string: 4.3.12798 Compatibility Profile Context 13.35.1005
When I start video application like GoogleTalk, Skype or VLC, the processor eat up to 250% of CPU.

I've done a lot of research and followed many tutorial. I've already tried all the 3 drivers (fglrx, fglrx-update, xserver-xorg-video-ati) and the driver from AMD site. I've followed this Ubuntu Wiki, both via command line and manual install, but no success. Please, anybody help. Thanks a lot.
