Mail.app stopped receiving new mail from Exchange

The mail server is Exchange 2007
It just happens every 20ish hr
Tried connection doctor and not help.
Only way to workaround this is you realize no new mail for a while then manually restart Mail.app.

  • Mail App stopped downloading new messages from Gmail

I'm using MBP with OS X Lion.
I've been using Mail App for my two Gmail accounts. I also use two different types of mail downloading systems (POP and IMAP) for them. For some reason, the speed of downloading new messages started slowing down a few weeks ago; however, I could still use it until today. Today, it seems like it is completely out.
It just stopped downloading new messages completely.
For the POP account, it says:
There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “POP” or try again.
The server returned the error: The connection to the server “pop.gmail.com” on port 995 timed out.
For the IMAP account, it says:
There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “IMAP” or try again.
The server returned the error: The connection to the server “pop.gmail.com” on port 993 timed out.
The weird part is that I can still send an email out of those accounts fine.
I checked the settings for Gmail, and everything seemed just fine.
I tried to re-do everything so deleted the IMAP account. Now it shows the message below:
The Google IMAP server “imap.gmail.com” is not responding. Try checking the network connection, and that the server name is correct. Otherwise, the server might be temporarily unavailable. If you continue, you might not be able to receive messages.
I tried Connection Doctor and it shows as below:
I followed the suggestion by changing unchecking those boxes for SSL, but it didn't help either.
I tried "Rebuild" under mail box menu bar but it also didn't do anything.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
    Thank you in advance.

By the way, my Mail App is version 5.3

  • Apple Mail stop fetching new emails from Exchange account.

    Hello everybody,
For the second time my Mail App stop fetching emails from my company Exchange account. I did not change anything! Activity and connection windows telling me that everything is OK! But no mails arrives and I'm no able to send them. My two other accounts works fine (Gmail and iCloud). Situation is strange because Outlook (which I hate anyway) works also fine with Exchange accout.
    Any ideas?
    PS.
Sorry for my English. It is not perfect :-)
    Regards,
    Piotr Miller

    Try rebuilding your mailbox.
    Rebuild mailbox
After that, try deleting the account and adding it back if the rebuild doesn't work.

  • Mail.app not retrieving new messages from Exchange Server

I used to use mail.app for my work email account, set up as Exchange IMAP. After upgrading to SL, I wanted to take advantage of the new exchange features, and set up an exchange account.
But now, multiple times a day, the new exchange account will just sit there, trying to fetch new mail (the spinning wheel thing in the left side menu bar). I've gone hours w/o noticing the problem, only realizing this when I check my iPhone and see dozens of new messages. Restarting fixes the problem.
    Anyone else having this issue?

    michellzappa,
All of my e-mail providers have some sort of web based access for my accounts. They identify, segregate and prevent any message marked as bounce from being downloaded to my inbox. Is this what you are describing as redundant?
Mail Scripts 2.7.10 by Andreas Amann, provides an excellent compilation of mail scripts.
I would advise that you create a new post with the title. "Can I write an applescript to automatically clean out messages on server every hour?" in the AppleScript Forum.
    ;~)

  • Mail.app stopped downloading new messages from pop3

    Hello,
I met this on both the latest Tiger and Panther: came after two weeks away and had no new mail. Strange. The Mail.app logins to pop3 server, sends a password, looks for the new messages, and that's all. Nothing is downloaded.
When I checked the mail via web browser, I had found about 600 messages there - most of them just a spam, as usual.
Whatever I tried (permissions, delete and create account, rebuild...) nothing helped.
    BUT.
When I *manually deleted* some messages (via web browser), Mail.app started downloading. For me it looks like there is some message number limit, about 500 messages, and if there are more messages on the server, nothing is downloaded. I believe it's a bug - at least some error message should appear.

By the way, my Mail App is version 5.3

  • One of my POP mail accounts stop receiving new email

I have done everything that other postings say (remove the "AlreadyDownloaded) but I can only get emails as of Jan 9, 2006 and no further.
I can send emails, but Apple Mail won't retrieve newer emails from my server.
I checked and I can see/seend/receive emails from a webmail, even Entourage works fine.
    What can I do?

I meant to say "stopped" receiving new email...

  • Cannot send mail from Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2007

    I have an
Exchange 2007server with all roles in the same server (Version:
08.03.0327.001 ) on a Windows 2008 R2 server. I have now installed two Exchange 2013 servers both with CAS and MBX roles on Windows 2012 servers
(full patched). There is also a DAG between the new servers. All mail goes through a BorderWare besides the internal mail.
I can send mail from both environments to the Internet. I can also send internal mail from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.But the problem is that I am unable to send from Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2007. I've debugged, but not solved the problem and there are
    few articles on the Internet.
    Any suggestions?

These two sentences are in conflict : "I can also send
    internal mail
    from Exchange
    2007 to
    Exchange 2013. But
    the problem is
    that I am unable
    to send from Exchange
    2007 to
    Exchange 2013. "
Can you describe what is your real problem? Flow from E2007->E2013? Or vice versa?

  • AppleScript to redirect mail from Exchange to mail

Can somebody point me to AppleScript samples that would allow me to redirect mail from Exchange to my Gmail account? (I can't use rules in Mail because Exchange doesn't allow redirect.)

This post doesn't involve applescript.  You could look into one of these options.  Do not know if they work with exchange or not.  The idea is that they log into your account and forware email to another account of yours.
What soda3 does is connect to your email server before you do.  It filters out the junk mail.  It passes the "good stuff" on to you.

Don't know how this works, but makes greats claims.  Maybe it works like soda3.  There is a fee.

  • Importing mail from Exchange to MS CRM

    Hello all,
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 receives all mail since it was activated, the emails were in Outlook before CRM be active not appear.
I do not have the backup of independent Outlook but Microsof Exchange Server.
How do I import mail from Exchange to CRM?
    Please would like response!
    Many thanks
    Best regards

    1. CRM is not a backup for Exchange. So while I get while there can be business value of old email in CRM, don't treat it like a backup system.
    2. If you use the Dynamics CRM Outlook Plugin, as a user you can just go back to your old email archive and click "Track in CRM".  This will also give you the granularity of what's relevant and what's not for storing in CRM.

  • App testing phase: Push notifications are not getting delivered to certain devices (iphone 4S/ios7.0.4 and ios7.0.3 - Push never worked for these two devices for this app). Received OK responses from Apple PUSH services, but notifications not delivered

We are testing an app at work and Push notifications are not getting delivered to certain devices (iphone 4S/ios7.0.4 and ios7.0.3 - Push never worked for these two devices for this app). Received OK responses from Apple PUSH services, but notifications not delivered to these tow devices.
PUSH notification were delivered to some of the other iOS devices: (iPhone5 / iOS 6.1.4 and iPhone5 / iOS 7.0.3)

Sounds like you have a battry issue but don't want to believe it.
If a car was running fine on one tank of gas, then you filled it up with another tank of gas and it began to run funny, one might suspect that tank of gas. But let's just say coincidence blew a valve-- would you think the new tank of gas was the culprit?
BUT WAIT!! It just might have been! The gas could have been of higher octane and put more more strain on the valves; you know, like going from 87 octane (OS6) to 93 octane (OS7) and showing you the engine was on the edge of compromise.
Sometimes you have to go with common sense. If everything else is ruled out, it must be the battery. And if it runs fine one moment in OS6 but immediately ***** in OS7, I'd believe my battery was suspect-- though comfy-- in OS6 but the OS7 showed its true power.
Moreover, if you had the answer-- or didn't want to believe someone's more competent advice-- why did you even call?  You've already shown that you don't know much when you asked if you could go backwards after setting up the new OS as a new phone.
Additonally, if you're such the know-it-all, but yourself the $29 battery and put it in yourself. It's a piece of cake.

  • Mac Mail Not Receiving New Mail from Exchange

Hey everyone, in the last few days, I've noticed that my Mac Mail isn't downloading new messages from my company's exchange server.
I can log into the web-based exchange server and see new messages sitting there, unread. If I quit Mail and re-open it, it fixes the problem, but taking all of the accounts offline and bringing them back online does not fix the problem.
Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it? I'm thinking some cache might be full or something.
    Thanks in advance

Same problems here. Glad I'm not the only one.
After looking at the Activity window, this is what it displays:
    http://screencast.com/t/NWU4N2Q5M
The Connection Doctor just says that all accounts were able to log in successfully, so no help there.
After clicking on the Stop Sign icon beside the stuff in the activity window (which effectively "stops" that task it's beside), I can then right click and "synchronize" my Exchange account and it receives all messages immediately, including the inbox. It's a work around, but I'm not sure that just command+Q and reopen wouldn't be easier.
It appears that a receive action just freezes up, which is why a resync before you kill the first sync doesn't fix it and a quit+restart does. As a side note, I can send messages through Exchange just fine when this receive lockup occurs.
Apple, please look into this...you have a better mail client than M$, but at least theirs stays connected.

  • Mail.app stopped working over IMAP to exchange 2003 server

    Hi Peoples,
I'm posting this as a problem with the solution simply because of the absolute bizarre behavior that I observed....
    PROBLEM
On Thursday night, without me having made any changes to either my mac or my exchange server, mail.app just stopped working. The problem was like many I've read about on various forums including this one but none of the solutions worked. Basically the problem was that the server would no longer authenticate mail.app's connection attempts. It failed both plain text and SSL with both NTLM and password style authentication. IMAP from a PC was still working OK (I keep this around for testing). So I tried the following...
Removed all the relevant keychain entries - no go
Removed the entire login keychain - no go
Removed & reconfigured the exchange account config from mail.app - no go
Removed the entire config from mail.app (i.e. removed ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist ) - bop-bong still no go
created a new IMAP service in exchange in case something was screwed there - no go
created a new user in exchange and tried that user - still no go
sledge hammer approach - reinstalled OS X - no go
48+ hours later... Getting very frustrated by now... scratching head...
    SOLUTION
OK (should have done this much earlier and saved much pain), time to install another IMAP client on the mac and see what happens.... installed Thunderbird and low and behold it worked first go with and without SSL - hmmm
Restarted mail.app and reconfigured to use same settings as thunderbird (SSL with password authentication - no NTLM)
What the????? Now it all works again....
I cannot for the life of me figure out why this happened, and why only mail.app was affected. Obviously, something went screwy on the Exchange server and caused mail.app to have a coronary. Whatever it was, other IMAP clients seemed to be able to handle it. Was it the install and subsequent use of thunderbird that fixed it - I hope not but who knows...
Think I'll be keep thunderbird installed in case it happens again... very, very, very strange.
Anyways... hope this helps if anyone else experiences such unexplainable weirdness.
Cheers - I'm going to have Chardy on the balcony and think about something else.

Just thought I'd update with the latest... This problem happened again this morning and again, the only way to fix it was to connect from the mac with another IMAP client (I used Thunderbird again) and immediately the problem was fixed.
Need to do some detailed network analysis here to see exactly what's going on but it's definitely a case of mail.app not playing nicely with Exchange (or vice versa).
    Cheers, time for a JD

  • Mails From Exchange 2013 are received as SPAM

    Hello,
We have Exchange 2013 configured to send and receive mails internally and externally. Everything is going great except the fact that the mails sent FROM our Exchange 2013 are received as SPAM. For example, I send an email from exchange to my gmail account
(generally to any EXTERNAL receipt). I receive the mail in the SPAM folder.
    Any ideas Please !!

    Hi,
Firstly, I’d like to recommend you find out exactly what the problem is and resolve it before bothering to delisting from the blacklist.
And based on my knowledge, there are the following reasons:
    1. Exchange Server is pumping out SPAM emails because a mailbox password was compromised:
Please figure out which mailbox user is the culprit by looking over event viewer logs and change the password. Then clear email queue and see if any new spam emails are generated, if the change of password stops the flow of SPAM email, we can remove the domain
    name from the blacklist.
    2. One of our computers are infected with a mass mailing worm virus:
We can check our firewall log
For information about removing from blacklist, you can refer to the following similar thread:

  • Mail app stopped receiving AOL messages

Three days ago I stopped receiving emails into my AOL account using mail.app, although I am able to send messages outbound. I only have the AOL smtp server as my outbound server, so my connection to AOL apparently must be working. I am able to see messages when I access AOL on their website and see messages there. However, it appears that the imap session isn't communicating with mail.app. I considered deleting and recreating the AOL account, but I don't want to lose any of my archived messages. Any ideas? Thanks

Similar problem. I am helping a friend set up her new Macbook. She is using MAIL. Is an AOL user and has set up her AOL iMaP account in MAIL
It was not receiving or outgoing. she had a wrong PORT. I changed the settings so that port 587 is used . Briefly all her mail came in, including todayss.
Suddenly, mail cannot be viewed although red balloon on the MAIL icon says 600+ messages.
WE cannot send out either. Keep getting server error for smtp.aol.com
HOw do we set up MAIL to receive AOL imap account messages and send them?
