Mail.app too many Ins and no outs

My Mail.app has never been innocent of odd lapses here and there. As a user with modest demands, I've ignored the less egregious problems. In recent days, my more egregious problems have escalated. My email client downloads messages from the POP server at its own convenience rather than mine, if indeed, it downloads anything at all. I use gmail as my one email account. My messages arrive and are retained in their entirety at the Gmail web site, but most never get downloaded by my Mail.app. My settings are on the money as illustrated by the fact that some messages are downloaded and are stored on my Mail.app In box. My ISP insists they are not a factor in this situation.
While searching for clues, I entered INBOX.mbox, on a whim, in Finder > File > Find and discovered I had five of them scattered around in my ~/Library. All had different numbers of messages (230-163-94-64-59). I have no idea what I did to fracture one In box into five dissimilar mailboxes. I am not nearly competent to know how to reassemble these five files into the original one.
It's been my experience that virtually every tweak and click I administer, unfailing makes matters worse. I need sage advice. I should add that Mail > Mailbox > Rebuild has had zero effect — nothing happened at all.

I'm afraid you're going to have a cow when you read this. After I said I wouldn't do any more stupid things, I did another stupid thing. I read in Gmail help somewhere to be sure I enabled POP, and to click save. What I was reading stated I should Enable POP for all mail (even that's been downloaded).
That was a big mistake, I got 723 messages.
I have another revelation to make that will give you a worse fit. I temporarily moved five folders to Trash from ~/Library > Mail because I thought they might be duplicates. Now I don't know if they're duplicates or not — I've included them here:

I'll understand if you want to wash your hands of this and bid me goodbye. I think a lot of my problem arises when my machine automatically makes duplicates without advising me of this.

A data recovery company MAY be able to do it for a price. The Disabled is a very good security feature.
JWhy not just restore from the last backup you have?
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I do not recommend reformatting your harddrive and reloading your software. This is a Windows thing. On an older mac it may be difficult to find all your software again.
Best to have greater than 2gig of free space. Many posters to these forums state that you need much more free space: 5 gig to 10 gig or 10 percent of you hd size.

Be careful when deleting files. A lot of people have trashed their system when deleting things. Place things in trash. Reboot & run your applications. Empty trash.
Go after large files that you have created & know what they are. Do not delete small files that are in a folder you do not know what the folder is for. Anything that is less than a megabyte is a small file these days.

You might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it.

How did the photos get onto the iPad ? Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly in the iPad's Photos app - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it (Edit button on iOS 6) in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from your computer can't be deleted directly in the Photos app - you either need to move/remove/de-select them from where they were synced from on your computer and re-syncing e.g. to remove a synced folder de-select that folder on the Photos tab and re-sync, to remove all synced photos select and sync an empty folder. Depending upon what iOS version that the iPad is on, you might be able to delete all synced photos by swiping across the 'Photo Library' line in Settings > General > Usage > Photos & Camera (that should give you a Delete button but I haven't tried tapping it to see if it works).

Slow Macbook pro, ~1 year old; Really HUGE Page Ins and Page Outs size, think 400 GB In vs 100 GB Out

Hi everyone, I have a macbook pro and it's so slow. After scouring the internet a lot, and CCleaning my computer 359802 times and using Onyx, I finally realized why it's so s low.....my Page Ins and Page Outs are so big. I have attached a screenshot that illustrates this.
I am not sure how my computer ballooned to this size, but it makes sense why it's like a turtle and is slower than my 4 year old Sony.
Can someone help me?? I am not sure what processes to get rid of and I feel like Google Chrome is taking up huge amounts of my Ram. I mean yeah I open Google Chrome and run like 8 tabs and have Word and iTunes open, but my 4 years old Sony could run faster than this and I used to open like 12+ tabs on Chrome while running Word, Excel, Powerpoint, iTunes, and VLC on my Sony. Which was nowhere near as powerful as this computer. Supposedly.
My computer Specs are:
2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM
Intel HD Graphics 384 MB
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4
I would really appreciate any advice to get this down to normal.....since I hear most ppl have page ins and page outs in the MB or even KB. Right now I'm running Google Chrome, Word, Ppowerpoint, iTunes, and Adobe PDF Reader. I don't think this should be too unreasonable of work load.

The problem is not that your page ins are big, as that value resets when you reboot the system. However, your page outs are are almost 25% of your page ins, which means you can use more memory for the applications you run. A page out is done when memory is full, and the system needs to add something else to memory, so it writes some memory to the hard drive to make room. The guideline to add more memory is 10% to 15% page outs greater than page in's, and yours are more than that.
Your MacBook Pro can handle up to 16GB of memory. You might want to consider upgrading to 8GB, which would double what you have today. OWC and Crucial are two sources for quality memory. $42 for 8GB from Crucial, and you can usually find a % off coupon on retailmenot.com.

That doesn't lock the SIM card, it just locks you out of the device.
If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

Running Mail.app give spinning ball and freezes computer

My wife and I have different accounts on an iMac (2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) running 10.7.4. Her Mail.app has recently stopped working. When she launches Mail.app, the computer freezes and she sees the spinning ball. On my side of the computer, the Mail.app is still working. Any suggestions on how I can get her Mail program running again?

This problem has been ongoing for about a week now. During that time, my wife has logged in and out of her account several times, and I’ve rebooted the iMac several times. I've also run fsck, repaired disk permissions, and rebuilt the directory with Diskwarrior. But Mail.app still isn't working.
I don’t know how it’s done nowadays, but there used to be plist files that stored preferences for particular apps. Every now and then one of those files would become corrupted, and when that happened, the performance of the app would be negatively affected. At times,the problem could be solved simply by deleted the right preference files. I bring up this subject because, at lease in some crude sense, Mail.app is behaving as if it had a corrupted plist file.
Anyway, if someone would tell me what steps I should go through to attempt to solve this problem, I would appreciate it.

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.

[E2013] [MailApps] [JS] [Windows]: window.open from a mail app fails in Chrome and Firefox but works in IE

I develop an Office Mail App which is used in Exchange 2013 On-Premises in my test lab. The mail app is hosted on IIS 8 (Windows Server 2012 R2) in the same LAN and ActiveDirectory domain.
Opening popup windows from the mail app does only work in IE, not in Chrome and Firefox.
Here are the details:
The following server and domain names are changed to hide our internal names. I adjusted the error messages accordingly.
Exchange 2013 is available at https://e13.some.dom/owa...
The app content comes from https://server.some.dom/...
Both the app and exchange server have valid SSL certicates.
Both server URLs are listed in the popup exception lists of the browsers I use.
The app generates html with an element which uses onclick to open another item in the same mailbox in a new browser window. Like so:

Clicking that link in Internet Explorer (11.0.9600.17105; Update Versions: 11.0.7) opens a new browser window and shows the message specified with "SomeValidID". All good.
When I use Chrome (Version 34.0.1847.131 m) the popup browser window opens. I see some progress text "Starting..." and "Almost there..." and then this error:

Firefox 29.0 pops up the window as well. Shows "Starting..." and "Almost there..." and then this error (some text is german although the mailbox language is set to english, its basically the same error intro text like in Chrome):

In Firefox I see the popOutManager-access with "permission denied", but the popup window itself was already opened.
Seems like the opened popup window tries to open another window?
When I open up a new browser window in Chrome or Firefox manually and paste the URL (https://e13.some.dom/owa/#viewmodel=ReadMessageItem&ItemID=SomeValidID) manually in the address bar the message is shown correctly, so the URL itself does not seem to be
the problem.
Double clicking on messages in Chrome and Firefox opens those messages in new windows as well. So it does not seem to be a general popup problem in Chrome and Firefox as well.
Any ideas how I get the popups from my mail app working in Chrome and Firefox as well?
