Mail at iCloud down?

According to iCloud system status everything works fine. But I get errors either from my Macbook pro, iPhone, iPad or by using iCloud.com...
here is from Safari (iCloud.com)
It is like iCloud is down.. anyone else that have this problem?
And this is what Mail looks like

It's OK for me, but that doesn't prove anything because these outages can be geographical as different servers are used for different parts of the world. Quite probably if you wait it out it will come back; as it's down for you on the website as well there's no point in fiddling about in Mail.
It's probably not worth your trying to contact Support as yet, particularly as unless you have AppleCare there is no free support and you are likely to be asked to pay a fee - though you might have some success in arguing that it's their fault. The contact URL is
http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
I should give it a bit and if it doesn't correct itself try Support.

  • ICloud Mail has been down (Mac, iOS, online) since last night. Anyone else?

Mail has been down completely since last night. Not able to access from Air, iPhone, iPad, or via Safari. System Status reports no problems. Other iCloud tools (Calendar, Contacts) seem fine.
    Anyone else having this problem?

I've noticed this as well since about 10:30 EST.  I used to have emails forwarding from another address and when I switched that off the other address is receiving emails instantly so it's definitely a problem on Apple's end.  It's good to see that at least one other person is reporting the problem here, but it would be even better if Apple would update the status page.  I can be very patient if I know it's a known issue for them, but hate seeing that all is up and running normally from their point of view when it isn't.

  • Mails over iCloud doesn´t work !!!

Mac OS X 10.7.2 : I can´t receive mails over iCloud and I can´t send the Information to the Support over iCloud !!! ???
    p99-imap.mail.me.com / username / pwd
    the error-message: wrong pwd !?!?!?
I have not change the pwd

iCloud seems very unreliable!  It keeps going down once a week!   Starts with the "server rejected password" then it is all down hill from there!

  • Apple Mail shows iCloud as offline with my Apple ID

Apple Mail shows iCloud as offline with my Apple ID, but works fine with wife's different Apple ID

    Hi ccharat,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you did a good job editing your Apple ID and primary email address, but you didn’t sign out of iCloud on your iOS device before hand. What you may need to do in this situation is go back to the Apple ID website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the email address that is signed in with iCloud (there is no need to verify the account after editing it back to the old account, just changing it back is enough). Once your Apple ID is back to the original account, delete the iCloud account from the iOS device and be sure to keep all info on the device when prompted. After you delete the iCloud account, go back to the website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the new address. Once it is back to the account you would like, you can sign into the iCloud on the iOS device with that new account and merge all of the data when prompted. Please use the following article as a reference.
iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud

    Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Go to Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap “Keep on My [Device]” or “Delete from My [Device].” In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.
    I hope this helps,
    -Joe

  • HT4759 (Macbook pro) in Mail my icloud account the smtp's server is offline & incoming gray?  the out going Mail Server (smtp) says icloud (offline) . how can it go online?

In Mail,  my icloud account the smtp's server is offline & the incoming  server is gray? How can I reverse this ?
did try going  on server SMTP in the edit section, both on " accout info" and "advance". no change. thanks

Okay, fixed it on mine.  In Mail.app:
    1) Mail menu | Preferences.
    2) Select problematic account in list on left.
    3) Select "Edit SMTP Server List..." from Outgoing Mail Server drop-down.
    4) Fix username by appending domain name
(append "@gmail.com" if standard account, or your own domain if apps user).
    5) Re-enter password.
    Save your preferences.

  • HT4864 The Outgoing Mail Server drop down box in mail setup keeps reverting back to 'None' - anyone have any ideas why?

    Hi
I've been having difficulties with mail on my Mac and have checked all the settings.  I have three mail accounts, 2 iClouds (different acct names) and 1 bigpond account.
Whenever I change the outgoing mail server drop down boxes for the iCloud accts and save my changes, I go out of it then when I go back to the iCloud accts the drop down boxes for both iCloud accounts have reverted back to 'None'.
Is this of any relevance?  Is it 'normal'?
I've tried deleting all mail accounts and adding them all again but the same thing still happens.
I have been on Apple Support and followed the Mail Acct setup tutorial.
I'd appreciate any help on this matter thanks.

Thanks for your reply Winston Churchill.
Because I'd been having problems which had recently been resolved by AppleCare Support I decided to go through all my accounts and check their individual settings.  I found a Tutorial on Apple support for setting up or verifying email account settings and found mine were different so I changed it.
In any event I took your advice and just went with the option of automatically setting the iCloud accounts up and I haven't had anymore problems thus far - fingers crossed.
I do however note that my drop down box in account settings still says 'none' for the outgoing mail server and the 'use this server only' check box isn't ticked despite being ticked in the 'verify account' info on the tutorial, so hence my question to the community - did this matter and what was the difference?
I will let sleeping dogs lie I think and will see how I go.
    Many thanks for your help.

I cannot access mail through Icloud on web. ICloud accepts my name and password but will not access mail . My wife however can access her Icloud mail using the same laptop and browser, works just fine.
How is it possible that my data on apple servers is unaccessible and her's is accessible. Short of calling Apple any ideas?

iCloud email is down for some users.  Apple says they're working on it  http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/systemstatus/

  • I ddnt open my mail on icloud.

why i cannot open my mail at icloud? even zafari ddnt work..please help me guys

Relax everyone……..all the services of the iCloud and iTunes are currently down…….
You can check its status at :
    http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/systemstatus/
Apple is probably doing some work on both the iCloud and on iTunes as both are currently down..........it is probably because of the upgrading they are doing that has to be done for the soon to be released Mountain Lion OS......

  • "Get Mail" is taking down my Airport connection....

I've been having this problem every so often and could never figure it out.
Every once in awhile my airport connection, 802.11n / 5ghz on my MacPro would come down, the annentna would just disapear but the card was not "turned off"
Narrowed it down, every time mail checks for mail it would interrupt any other progress that was going on, such as Apple TV stream, downloading something else etc., Anyone else seeing something like this?
    Thx

Well, comcast has nothing to do with icloud.  If you have gone to comcast and given the command to forward your comcast mail to icloud's account, then you need to define the icloud account in the mail app.

  • How do I duplicate the folders in Mail on my Mac to Mail in iCloud?

I have set up a series of folders in Mail on my Mac where I file all of my emails.
During the day I often access Mail on a PC via iCloud and there are no folders set up on my iCloud version.
Is it possible to duplicate my folder set up from Mail on my Mac to Mail on iCloud and to have changes made on one (e.g. messages deleted, new folders raised etc.) reflected on the other?

You should create your mail folders on the iCloud server (under ICLOUD in Mail), not locally on your Mac (under ON MY MAC) for them to show up on other devices and at iCloud.com.
Anything stored locally on your Mac only exists on that specific Mac so leave all your mail on the server and organise it there.

You create an @icloud.com address in the first place by signing into Settings>iCloud with your Apple ID and choosing an addres - you can only create an @icloud.com address, not @me.com.
Then if you want further addresses on the same account you can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account or move it to another account.

I have not been able to sync my mail with iCloud on my MacBookPro (Lion OS).  Everything else has been syncing fine for the past two months, but when I go to System Pref/iCloud/and try to check Mail, it asks me to choose an iCloud email address. When I put in my regular @me.com email, it says that address already exists (of course it does - it's mine!) and wants me to choose another one.  But I want it to sync with my stuff.  What can I do?  I haven't been able to find help anywhere online...  Thanks!

You should have signed in with that address in the first place, but there is a workaround: go to System preferences>Mail, Contacts@ Calendars and add your @me.com address as an account there.
