Mail Attachment Icons very small now

All,
I just updated to Mavericks, and it is not as scary as I thought, however I use lots of attchments and ther used to be a slider to make the icons larger. Now they are uber small and very hard to read or see. Is there any way to make them larger????
Apple has to really rethink the size issue. I am one of the original mac guys and my eyesight is good but I cannot see very small stuff any more and this is very small.........
Thanks,
Rob

The best way to get a good view of an attachment is by simply selecting it and tap on the space bar. Works also with multiple attachments.

  • Mail attachment was too big now that account is frozen

I have two Accounts set up in Mail.app.  One business, one personal via AOL.  Comcast is my ISP.  Attachments are limited to around 10-20 MB.
I tried to send an attached 5 MB Folder that I thought contained five 1 MB video clips.  When that didn't work, I split the contents into 5 separate e-mails.  When that didn't work, I noticed that these were all the actual sizes were GB not MB so I knew they were way too big to go as attachments.  However, Mail kept trying to send them.  Now, the personal account just spins but occasionally, new, outgoing mail will work.
Based on suggestions in this Forum, here is what I have done for troubleshooting so far:
Deleted the messages from the Outbox
Deleted the messages from the Drafts mailbox
In Mail Preferences, I deselected "Store Drafts on the Server."  (My guess was not only was Mail trying to send the messages, it was also trying to store a draft of each message.)
I forced quit Mail and went to ~/Library/Mail and deleted any copies of either the Message or the Attachment that I could find including those in the Outbox, Saved, and Recovered mailboxes/folders.  (I sorted the various folders by size making it fairly easy to find these large attachments and found the individual messages by the created date.)
I can retrieve my AOL Mail by going to their website but I still cannot get my AOL Account to work in Mail.app.
What do I do next?  Should I just delete the Account and recreate it?  Can I do this without losing old saved messages?  Note, everything is backed up by Time Machine.

    Hi,
When you select, New message ... is the window as big as your screen??
If this is the case, try to drag the window smaller and try again to attach any file you like in the message.
Is the drop down window smaller now?? if this is the case then drag the drop down wind to the size you like. On your right hand at the bottom you can drag it to the size you want.
Post back with the results ...

  • No matter what I do, e-mail photos are very small

I have iPhoto 6.0.6 and no matter how large I scan a photo, or how large it is in iPhoto, when I highlight the photo in my Library and then click e-mail, even at the largest setting the resultant attached photo is very small. I cannot seem to find any settings that will seemingly overide that.
    Any thoughts?

having two places that you can do the same thing can be confusing

  • Firefox reduces the font sizes on Yahoo mail to a very small unreadable font size and i have tried the suggestions in help. Explorer does not do this. What should i try other than using Explorer

This problem started about two months ago and I have been using Explorer to access e-mail. I have downloaded all updates and just downloaded 4.01. When trying to view Yahoo mail, all the fonts on the page are very small and I can not adjust the font size. It is so small I can hardly read it. Other pages are fine.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: <b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

  • Mail: Attachment Icons. ?

I had to do an A&I and since then I am no longer able to attach a photo that shows up as an icon within the mail.
Now the attachments show the whole photo/s within the mail.
I have checked the help section and have been unable to find that particular issue. Maybe I am using incorrect terms?!
    Thanks for any help

  • Icons very small

I bougt a computer with windows 8.1. Adobe Photoshop elements 12 was installed upon. It works correct but the icons are to small to see (2 mm). How I can enlarge them?

There are preference choices in PSE13 which have three possible settings
    Automatic
    Small 100%
    Large 200%
I suggest you use the free trial for 30 days. You can download from this link and that will give you the option to evaluate whether it suits your monitor. After installing you must go to Expert mode and install the 13.1 update from the Help menu.
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements&loc=us&PID=2159997 #
Then go to preferences. See my image. After you choose 200% you must click OK, close the editor and re-launch again for the settings to take effect.

  • I installed a recent update to my iMac and all my screens are very small now. How do I change so that I can read my screens.

How do I increase the size of the fonts any everything else on the screen?
    Thank you, Bob Plunkett

    Gentlemen:
This was not a well thought out question; poorly written and I apologize. I should have known that the answer was right there in the system preferences under "displays".  Sorry. Thank you for your Patience.
    Sincerely,
    Bob Plunkett.

  • When I send image attachments through Mail they are received as very small and squashed. How can I change this?

I have a problem sending image attachements (e.g., jpeg, png files etc) with the Mail utility from my MacBook Pro.  When people receive my email the attached image shows up not as an attached file that can be saved or downloaded, but as just a very small, squashed up version of the image imbedded in the email message itself.
I usually add these attachments by simply dragging and dropping the desired file into the window of the email text. Is this the wrong way to do it?
    thanks
    Jerry

Is this the wrong way to do it?
The safest way to send images is to create a compressed file and send that.
Click the image you want to send, go to File in the menu bar and select Compress... You end up with a file with a .zip at the end. Attach that to your email. Then trash the .zip file.
The person at the other end only has to double click the .zip attachment.
You can compress are single image or a folder of them.

  • Mail 7.1 large attachment icon in classic layout attachment column

I was running on Mountain Lion till 2 days ago. Over the weekend, I decided to upgrade to Mavericks, which went really smooth. However, after upgrading to Mavericks, when I open Mail.app, I am seeing large attachment icon in the attachment column. My Mail.app is configured for classic layout. When I change to modern view, I don't see any problem, but I don't like working on modern view.
I have taken some snapshots and posted below. As you can see, the attachment icon size actually varies from folder to folder, which is even more odd.
Anyone seeing the similar issue? Any idea how can I fix it?
    Thanks!

in summary, here is how to fix it:
Go to Mail --> Preferences --> Fonts & Colors --> Message list font and changed it to any other font, and back to what you'd want it to be. Now notice your paperclip icon is back to normal.

  • Mail is printing in very small font

Out of the blue my mail (when printed) comes out in very small font.  When viewing my mail this is not happening.   I did not make any changes to my mail preferences and cannot find a location to reinstall a font which is at least 12 or 14 pt. when I choose to print something.  Help.

First of all, your post above says you're running OS X Version 10.4.11, which is several years old now.  Since this is a Mountain Lion forum, I will assume that your post is incorrect about your version.
Font size on print is determined, among other things, by making the page fit.  Check the settings on the print page.  They affect scaling:

There is no application called "Adobe" - you are either working with Adobe Acrobat or the free Adobe Reader. Open up the preferences for the application (Edit>Preferences), then go to the "General" category and modify the settings for "Scale for screen resolution". You will have to restart the application after you do that. Does that fix your problems?
