Mail behaviors have changed
This is really strange....at least to me. Some background: I was on a 2008 MacBook Pro running the latest version of Lion until Christmas. I use Mail and have several email accounts, mostly to separate my personal, commercial (shopping!), and Yahoo Groups emails. Two of them are gmail accounts and the others are on cox.net.
After Christmas, I transferred everything to my new MacBook Pro with Retina Display and Mountain Lion. Now my mailboxes are acting crazy and I don't know how to fix them.
1. If I reply to a message, it shows up in my Inbox; when I delete it, I also have to delete copies of it in Sent mail and one listed under the email account.
2. When I get a new message, any old, deleted message that is remotely related also shows up in my mailbox.
3. I have Mail set to use the email address that the message came in on as my reply address, but sometimes my reply will try to use my me.com (Cloud?) email address.
4. I sometimes receive 4 copies of the same email, designated Important, "email account", groups, etc.
Can anyone explain this?
As an aside, I did have an appointment with a Genius, but have lost some confidence with my local Apple Genius Bar after discovering that the Genius I was working with on another problem didn't even know that an initial backup on a new computer with a new OS would take more than 2-3 hours!
Any help is appreciated!
Try...
In Mail go to the 'Window' drop down at the top of the screen. Choose 'Previous Recipients'. Delete the old address.
Can't guarantee it will work, but worth a try.
You may also find if you type the first 3 or 4 letters of the NEW address in the 'To' line other address associated with those letters will be shown (listed). Chose the new address from that list by clicking on it.

I have changed my apple e-mail address in itunes and apple successfuly but now, every time I use my iphone 5 it is asking me to sign in but it still has my old e-mail address there so when I enter my password it says wrong id or password. In settings it will not allow me to change to my new password. How do I get around this problem please?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account") -
I already have changed my apple id. But whenever I update any application, it is asking the old app id and password that is not a working e-mail already. How can I change my app id?
So you made a new Apple ID? Unfortunately that won't work. Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one ID to another and Apple does not merge Apple IDs. What should have been doen is mearely change the email address that was associated with the Apple ID.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621
The only way that you can do this now is with a new email address if you used your current email address for the new Apple ID. -
I have changed my e-mail address and therefore need to change my apple ID. When I change it to my new address it says it is already my rescue address and cannot be used. Any ideas how to change my rescue address?
To change the iCloud ID ("email address") you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted. If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I have changed my AppleId's e-mail address and thus the Appleid user name. I bought a new MacBookPro and updated my Appleid info. The problem is that it does not list all the Apps bought. I have only one iphone connected to it. My daughter has an ipad and had purchased a lot of apps using the old user-id. She had the ipad linked to another computer. However, the ipad does not switch on and from Apple Support they told me that it would be better if I restore it using a Mac. So my question is: if I restore it using the Mac, how would all these apps be synced since they do not appear on my iTunes on the Mac? Shouldn't all the apps appear since I have bought them?
I would appreciate a reply.
Kind Regards,
DimitraI have the same issue. The new address is fine when I use iTunes and on my iCloud account, but my iPhone has my old e-mail address and when I try to change it won't accept my new or old password to be able to do so.

Can a workflow e-mail notif. only show fields that have changed?
I'd like to send an e-mail to an end user whenever any field in a Solution has changed. The e-mail notification workflow for my Solution works and starts out like this:
(PRE('<ModifiedDate>') <> [<ModifiedDate>]) AND...
However, I run into max character limitation in the e-mail message body. (will look at ToChar next) What I tried to do was display the new and previous values for the fields. This worked till I reached the char limits. Even if I could key in all the lines of characters necessary for this, the mail recipient would have to carefully go through all the fields and compare them to see which one(s) has changed. This takes too much time for the end user to do.
Is there I way (using a single workflow) to display in an e-mail only the fields that have changed? I've looked through the posts and have not yet found an answer. Thanks.
Edited by: user11167975 on Jun 16, 2009 1:34 PMYou can resolve this by creating One workflow for each field or a small group of fields you want to track. Only thing is the user may receive more than one email reguarding the same Solution.

I have changed my ID (mail) and now I can updated my apllications in the ipad because still appears my first ID... How can I change my ID in the IPAD????
Apple ID (your e-mail address) that was used to purchase apps are forever tied to that Apple ID for updates.
Apple ID cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID.
You can change the e-mail address associated with the Apple ID below:

Protected Songs - Haven't changed computers, but have changed e-mail acct.
A couple of years ago I set up an account to purchase songs. Since that time I have changed my e-mail and the account I set up through iTunes at that time no loger exists according to Apple. I have sense opened a new account with a new username and password, however the songs I purchased under the old account are protected and won't play on my computer. It asks me to authorize my computer, however, there is no longer an account for the username it is giving me. What should I do so I can play the songs that I have purchased?
Thanks for any and all helpEnter the original account name and the original account password to play a song purchased under the original account/password. Even though Apple has closed the account for purchases and the like, you need to authorize your computer to play those songs with the original info they were purchased under. Those data are wired into the music files on your computer.

Hello! i forget my mail pwd i have changed apple id
Hello! i forget my mail pwd i have changed apple id now i cant activate iphone 4s with my new apple id but i can join to manage id
You would have to change your ID back to your old ID at http://appleid.apple.com, then activate your device. After that you could delete your account again from your device again (Settings > iCloud) - I would recommend to do that on all your devices - then change your ID back to your new email address and finally add your account again using your new address.

Will Maverick have changes to Apple Mail
Will the New Apple OS X Maverick have changes to the Mail program? If so, where can I read about these changes?
I don't remember that Apple said anything about Mail during the Mavericks preview. You can access to some of the new OS X Mavericks features in this website > http://www.apple.com/osx/preview/ I'm sorry, but you will have to wait until OS X Mavericks is released to know if there are changes in Mail
