Mail bouncing/filtering emails from a known address

Hi, I have a problem with Mail 5.1 filtering emails from a known email address (in my Address Book).
If I get several emails from the same address, one after another, normally the third or fourth one is put in the junk folder, even though Mail is set to leave all mail in my inbox!
If I turn off junk filtering, the mail is bounced back to the sender.
Any ideas? It's annoying as I don't always see the email in the Junk folder.
Thanks

Thanks for your time.
Under SCOT " * " is stated so I think that is not an issue and yes  xyz=abc.com is a valid domain address and mails are succesfully sent and received via Microsoft Outlook.
And, RFC Connection is fine as when tested.
SMICM = SMTP Service exist and port number as 0.
But to remind, if I send mail from xyz=abc.com to pqr=abc.com the mail is not received at Outlook but under SOST, the status is fine and indicates it is sent.
Mail is not been sent FROM same domain TO the same domain.
As, if i send mail from xyz=abc.com to samplename=mydomain.com the mail is sent and recieved succesfully
Please help.

mac mail keeps sending emails from my different accounts even though it says correct email in "sent" folder and correct email account was highlighted. Recipients reply and it goes to different email address. So confusing and annoying.

    Hi Mike,
I had the same issue and managed to solve it.
    Go into Mail>Preferences>Accounts
Then in the account information tab, at the bottom should be outgoing mail server (SMTP) and click the drop down box
Mine had a few different servers in it so i went into edit SMPT server list. Click advanced and it will tell you which ones are going from which email address.
Delete the ones you dont want, and it should work or instead of deleting click use only this server, i imagine that will work to
    Hope This Helps

I am using Mail 5.3 with two separate gmail addresses.
One is personal the other is business.
When I send emails from the BUSINESS address, any auto-replies/out of office notices I get come to my PERSONAL INBOX.

Edit the SMTP server list. Add a new one for the business account. Put the correct password and information for it. Give it a description so you will know which server is which. Mke sure the correct server is highlighted in the account selected and check the box to use only that server for that account. Do that for the other account also.

  • HT1338 I accidently bounced an email from someone I want to keep getting emails from.  Do I need to do an 'unbounce' if that's possible?

I accidently bounced an email from someone I want to kjeep getting email from.   Do I have to do anything or is the bounce just for the 'one' email itself not for the sender entirely?

Hello, as far as I know it's for just one eMail.
But truth be told, all that Bounce really does is let spammers know they reached a real eMail addy.

after I entered the password of my iCloud ID, it prompted out asking me to check email from an emai address that I did not set for rescure? and then I cannot login.

Try going to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    Hello Tonchee
If you are seeing an Apple ID that is not yours, then you have purchased content on your iPad that is tied to that Apple ID. You would need to know that password or remove the content that is associated with that Apple ID.

  • APPLE MAIL is sending emails from wrong address

    Hello,
This question has probably been asked before, but I haven't been able to find it. Feel free to send me there with a link if it's helpful.
    Here's my plight:
I use gmail IMAP and manage 2 email accounts through Apple Mail (5.2). One is the domain catch-all email, [email protected], and the other is my main personal account, [email protected] Usually, whichever mailbox I click on is the address from which my mail is sent. But recently, whenever I've sent mail from [email protected], the recipient has been seeing my personal address ([email protected]), rather than the Info address. But the address line still says "Info" and not my name, if that makes sense. Example:
    NORMAL: FirstName LastName "<[email protected]>"; Info "<[email protected]">
    NOW (PROBLEM): Info "<[email protected]>"
The replies to the mail I sent from Info are then sent to my personal account. I checked the mail preferences and the Info settings are the same as they've always been. It says the name is Info and the address is [email protected] I'm not sure why Apple Mail is suddenly thinking that the Info emails are coming from my personal account. Is this an Apple Mail issue, or a Gmail issue? Help! I don't want people to be receiving emails from my personal account when it should be from the Info account. Do I need to delete the entire Info mailbox from Apple Mail and start all over?
    Thanks for your help!

Agreed.  I had three gmail accounts, 2 business, one personal, but lately all my attempts to send mail from my personal account wound up being sent from Business instead, even after selecting which account to send it from.
I went into Preferences, Account info, then found all outgoing smtp servers simply called gmail but there were three in the list. It turned out that all my accounts were being directed to one server address.
If you drop down the Edit SMTP Server list, then select each account under Account Information you can see which server is dedicated to which account. Then you can edit the name of the related gmail server to the related account. So you can have gmail personal, gmail business 1, gmail business 2 etc.
Once you have the servers renamed (all the same actually but tells mail which account credentials to use), you can then select the appropriate server to match the right account under Preferences>Account Info front page.
    Worked for me.

  • I receive certain emails from a specific address but not other emails.

I receive some emails from Berkeley Parent Network, such as Advice but not the Marketplace email. here is information from their site: Your email service may allow you to add email addresses to a "white list" that you want to accept mail from. The sender on all the BPN newsletters is "[email protected]". The newsletters are actually mailed from chignik.berkeley.edu (IP address: 169.229.248.172)

    Hello Faith.
Although possibly not related to your problem, I will remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Furthermore, it has known bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum stability, performance, security and usability. You can get it for free, as always, at [http://www.getfirefox.com getfirefox.com].
As for your issue, I'm not sure I understand it correctly, but I think you may want to contact the sites administrator directly?

  • Blocking emails from a particular address

Is it possible to block emails that come from a specific address? For example, is it possible to block an email from a particular gmail address, and have that email bounce back to the sender?

Mail menu > Preferences > Rules > Edit Rule... > enter criteria in fields and save.

  • Mail rules prevent email from appearing online

I have an iMac at home and the Mail App is currently running. With Mail, I have a Rule set up to automatically move emails from a certain domain into a folder. I'm assuming that because of this rule and the fact that my computer is on at home with the Mail App on, I'm unfortunately unable to retrieve those emails either online through iCloud or through my phone(non-iPhone).
Does anyone know WHERE I can access these emails? I am at work and cannot go home to shutdown Mail... I can clearly see in the Sent folder online the reply I made to an email from that particular domain, but the original message is nowhere!
This particular email in question was sent to my @me.com email address, and iCloud's server does not show the message. This issue occurred prior to updating to iCloud, so I doubt that's the issue... and it happens with any of my email addresses (i.e. gmail) that receive email that would be filtered by this rule.
    Help please!

The iCloud, and MobileMe before it, are IMAP accounts.  If at home you moved the message to an On My Mac mailbox (meaning it is local to that computer), the message will have been removed from the server, and thus not available on another computer or device.
With IMAP, the Inbox resides on the server, but folders must be created on that server to be used across more than one device.

  • Still cannot send email from icloud .me address

hi. does anybody knows why i cannot send email from my ipad (ios 5.0.1) icloud me.com account? i can recieve but i cannot send. on my mac (lion) it works perfectly. the message i get is "the sender address .mac.com was rejected by the server". mac.com ?? but i use my me.com address. any ideas pls?
    thank you

I have been having the same problems for the last two days now.  It won't let me send, but it will let me save it to my drafts folder.  I even tried opening the e-mail form my iPhone 5 and it won't let me send it there either.  The last two times i ended up copying the contents from my failed e-mail on my phone and pasting that into a new e-mail and that works.  I normally use the icloud web app to reply to e-mails when i'm at work (using win 7) and it is very frustrating.

You can have separate logins for incoming and outgoing in Outlook, see screenshots (although they are the same in this example they can be different). Just set outgoing to your [email protected] email address and password.

  • Icloud mail still pulling emails from external account

    Hello,
I am a former dotMac and MobileMe user.  I had set up the mail interface to pull emails from an external account.  After migrating to iCloud very early, emails are still being pulled, although this *should not happen*, because iCloud does not offer this service.  The problem is: how do I disable this behaviour?  There is no preference pane where I can set this.  It's quite astounding that my mail is basically being provided by uncontrolled services running on Apple servers, even if they should not be running.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards

Your complaint is different from the OP's - he wants to stop it and can't: you want it to work. I'm afraid it won't - the facility is not available in iCloud, though as we've seen a few people are finding it hanging over.
You can still do one of two things perfectly easily: set up your other accounts separately in the Mail application; or set the other accounts to forward to your @me.address - most ISPs can provide this facility and it was always preferable anyway to collecting the email. It will arrive immediately, for one thing, rather than up to 15 minutes later.

  • How to block email from a specific address?

What are the steps required to block email?

    Hi johnav,
Although I'm not finding a setting to block an "incoming" email address like you can for FaceTime calls but you can set up a rule to automatically delete email from a particular email.

    Would that work for you?
