Mail Box Issues. Cannot delete any of my emails.

I cannot delete my messages from my inbox. I keep getting the following message "135518.emlx coudn't be copied to messages because an item with the same name already exists"

Thanks, it did take a bit of time as i saw from other comments that this is was the best thing to do BUT as it took soooooo long i figured something else was wrong. Thanks again

My flagged mails have suddenly jumped up to 7k and now I cannot delete any of them.

But would you reread my previous message in the mean time...I may not be using the correct terminolgy for what I am trying to find out. AndI am sorry for that. This stuff is very confusing for me but I am trying.
I do not have any thing in the trash. I don't even know if I have a trash folder.
#1.I wanted to know if I could have somehow deleted the trash folder ? in my email site?
#2 If it is possible than would this be why I cannot get the messages in inbox to delete to the trash folder?
#3 When I try to delete anything on this computer I get the message on my screen..++++ telling me that whatever it is that I am trying to delete could not be moved to that mailbox because "Deleted messages -mail.comcast.net does not allow messages to moved to it+++++ Doesn't make sense to me and that is why I wanted to know if it was possible that I may have deleted the trash folder under the INBOX , SENT, DRAFTS, and then where the TRASH folder is suppose to be?
#4 Everytime I try to delete anything this message box shows up that tells me what is written in #3 between the +++++ ++++++
It is like there is no trash folder to delete anything to. It this possible that there is not a trash folder because I could have deleted the Trash folder??

Why is it that when I go to Yahoo mail, I can't delete any messages or move to the next page? Stays stuck on page 1..

Lately, when I log on to my yahoo mail while using firefox, it no longer shows the DELETE option at the top of the email page. So, I cannot delete any emails that I might wish to delete. Also, I cannot get past the first page of my emails. Every time I click on the NEXT PAGE button, it does not move from page 1. This does not happen when I log onto yahoo mail using Internet Explorer. Please advise as to what I can do to correct this. Could it be that I'm not using the latest version of Firefox? I don't know...

I cannot delete ANY apps after upgrading to ios 5-

After updated my software to ios 5 (iPhone 4, Verizon), I cannot delete any of the apps; it's like every single app is now a "native," acting just like all of the built in apps like phone, message, safari, etc. When I hold down on any one of them, they all start shaking, but no red x with the circle- there is no way to remove them...
I think that it is a bug in the software, because I updated my other iPhone 4 to ios 5, and I do not have any issues with this whatsoever...

I am having the exact same problem. When i go to update my existing apps - it asks me to type my password for my initial apple id (upon upgrade i needed to change it to the @soandso.com) but it wont take my password. When i try to download new applications it works - my new apple id comes up and everything works fine.
i tried restoring my phone, changing my settings, etc.
When i try to update in itunes it gives me a notification along the lines of "cannot update do to not holding majority of ..."
did you find a solution?

Mail crashes and cannot delete outgoing message with large attachment

Tried to send an email with too large an attachment. Now it is stuck in Outgoing Mail. I cannot delete it. It just causes the spinning ball and then eventually mail crashes. I need a way to delete the outgoing message. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Try this:
1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/.
3. Locate Outbox.mbox and move it to the Trash.
4. Open Mail. A new (empty) Outbox.mbox will be created automatically.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

You can uncheck multiple songs by selecting all the songs you want to uncheck, then right-click and choose "uncheck selection". Also, make sure that you have checked "Sync only checked songs and videos" on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings or the sync process will ignore your selections.
You can remove all the photos from your camera roll using Preview on your Mac. Connect your phone to your Mac, open Preview, go to File>Import from iPhone. When your photos appear in Preview, select the photos you want to delete, then click on the icon at the bottom showing the red circle with the diagonal line through it (see image below), then click Delete.
To remove photos from the Photo Stream album on your phone you'll have to either reset Photo Stream (deleting all the photos from iCloud) or turn off Photo Stream on your phone.

The preinstalled apps, those that came as part of the iOS, cannot be deleted and will not shake or provide the black circle-X for deletion.
Others should do that if you touch and hold for a few seconds.
If they are not, do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if that appears.

either use the pop protocol to get your mails, or move mail into a "local Folder" from your mail account and it will delete on the server as well as from the account in Thunderbird.

Try one or more of the following:
> Restart Your Computer
> Uninstall and Reinstall iTunes
> Reset iPod (nothing will get deleted)
> Look in My Computer (Windows 98, XP) OR Computer (Windows Vista or 7) and see if your iPod is in there.
In some cases (and this happened to me before) plug your iPod in and out your computer a few times. It should get it going. If not, then I strongly recommend starting your computer.

Exchage server mail box issue.

One of the user in Exchange Server has a mail box size of 500 MB. I have disabled this user but not deleted, since He left our Company, after reducing the size of his mailbox to 10 MB from 500 MB, I realized that
there were still many mail items which were available in his mail box & his mailbox property value was showing XXXX amount of items and it xxxxxx KB of space, thus it means that his mailbox items are still occupying 332 MB out of 500 MB, unfortunately
I have already reduced mail box size to 20 MB, I would like to know where will the items available in his mailbox and suppose if i increase the same user's mail box back to 400/500 MB then will I get back to the all mails and there will be any effect
on exchange server database (EDB) file. If so, what are the consequences

No increasing the users MB size will not bring back items that have been deleted.
How did you do the deletion?
How long ago did you so the deletion?
Are you wanting to get the data back or just wondering why the its still occupying space in the DB?
When you delete items via Outlook they are first put into the Deleted Items Folder
When you empty the Deleted items Folder the items are placed within the Recoverable Items/Deletions folder until the deleted item retention is reached
Once the Deleted item retention is reached the data is purged from the DB and the space it use to occupy is now white space. The DB size itself will not decrease instead that white space can be used to store other items from any user in that DB

Cannot delete any categories

Hello,
in a test-phase of content service I built some categories that we do not need. If I try to delete them, I get this message:
"cannot delete because there are already instances of the categories either there exist any subcategories"
I deleted all subcategories, all folders where those categories were used and if I am searching for instances of categories I get no results. Does anybody know what I am doing wrong or what I missed?

The same thing happened to me and I haven't resolved it yet. However, did you check your Trash folders? If there is anything in there that has your category attached to it you can't delete the category, so first make sure that Trash folders are empty. My case was that I could delete all categories as long as any of them wasn't assigned to some folder (=> file) as Required. If there was some file that had that required category instance, even after emptying the trash I wasn't able to delete the category. So I came to conclusion that it is a bug. I did find one thread related to this (something about Archive), but I didn't have time to try that approach yet. Here is the thread, let me know if it helps Delete documents

When I tap the mail button on my iPad I cannot access any of my email accounts. I know I have mail it also hits my cell phone.

Ok let's try the simple things first, take it through a power cycle, power off after a minute or two, power on. Hold the power/sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to power off. Then hold the power/sleep button until it powers back up.
If that doesn't help, try a reset, holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts (ignore the red slider in this case).
If that doesn't work we can work through deleting and reentering the email account information.
