Mail button in dock

Mail button is stuck. Wont launch ...... pinwheel spins and spins ..... any suggestions

Hi Katrina,
The same thing happens when launching from the mail application. When we force quit it says the program is not responding. This same thing was happening on our imac g4.
We did not migrate any folders over. All the programs were reloaded from scratch.
Any suggestions??

  • "get mail" button gone

I have a strange occurence to report and I hope someone can answer my question. I am using Mail, and my "get mail" button on the main window in the program has disappeared, and I don't know what to do about it. I mean it simply doesn't appear on the window. I haven't heard of such a thing, and it seems noone has posted this observation. I'm pretty sure I have been using a icon on the main wondow to tell the program to get my e-mail all along, and it's just not there.
Can anyone help. It's a little inconvienient to not be able to use that button. That and this shouldn't be happening to beginn with, so I hope noting else is really wrong. Thus far I don't think so.

    Hi Sara
from the mail menu, select View-Customize Toolbar.
From there you can drag the 'get mail' button back into the toolbar, or choose to drag the default toolbar set.
You can also get mail by selecting Mailbox-get new mail or by clicking & holding the Mail icon in the dock - after a short delay you'll see a menu which includes 'get new mail' or by using Command (apple key)-Shift-N from the keyboard.
Hopefully that'll get your mail app back to normal.

  • IPhone 4s - Voice mail Button - Settings required

    Hi Apple and all
I have an iPhone 4s in London UK. it is unlocked so I didnt want to go with expensive contracts like O2. So I am using a cheap contract from company called TalkMobile.
Talkmobile provide better signal and cheaper line of sim only contracts. This has worked well for me as I am now paying £8 a month for my 300 min contract and 500MB data in comparison to £21 O2 contracts.
Talkmobile dont have Visual Mail service but have voice mail service that they charge for it. So I switch it off. (dialed 1210) that mean no one calles my voice mail. I suspriped to an app voice mail service called HulloMail. and that works great for me because I use it to personalise my voice mail and allot more security on it.
    My question is.
How can I change the voice mail button to point to Hullomail app instead.
    or
How can I disable the voice mail button all together.
    or
How do I switch off the voice mail button with a password or something.
Reason why I want it changed is because even though I disabled people calling to my voice mail via the network provider. The iPhone will still call my voice mail if I press the voicmail button and I will be charged £0.10p for everytime I press it, to be honest at the moment its nusence to me, because MY FAT Finngers press it everytime I press the call app and accidantely (with my FAT Fingers) press it.
Surely this was a bad design by apple in the first place where by users cant disable, change, restrict or modifiy the voice mail button. If this cant be done then need to be fixed by Apple.

  • Trouble with E-Mail button on a form designed in ES

I installed an form with an e-mail button but af
ter I posted the form to the intranet the button does not work at all within Adobe Rea
der 9.0.  I have set the form to submit as a PDF and the control type as Submit.  I read in another post the I can download the LC Reader Extension but for the life of me, I cannot find it.
    Please help.

    Hi,
The problem is that your form is not Reader Enabled, so users with Reader cannot save the form. This is required for a 'submit as PDF' button.
You could change the submit type to 'submit as XML', which will work in a form that has not been Reader Enabled. You would then need to import the XML back into the form when you receive responses. This is probably the least expensive route.
LC Reader Extensions is a server product and there are additional costs involved in enabling a form through LC Reader Extensions. You should contact your local Adobe rep or check out here: http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/livecycle/readerextensions/
You can reader enable a form in Acrobat Standard (v9 or above) or using Acrobat Professional (v8). However there are licensing restrictions. See EULA.
I have a summary of deployment options here, which shows what features are available in your form depending on what the user has, whether the form is enabled, and how it was enabled.

  • I am having problems gettting my mail to work ... Mac telling me that my start up disk id full and to delete some files to free up space ... have done this but when i open mail from the dock it just brings up the colour wheel and nothing happening

I am having problems gettting my mail to work ... Mac telling me that my start up disk id full and to delete some files to free up space ... have done this but when i open mail from the dock it just brings up the colour wheel and nothing happening ... it shows when you right click on the mail icon that " application not responding"

If your hard drive is getting full, you need to free up, at least, 20 GBs of space on your iMac's hard drive.
If your Mac is running a fairly recent version of OS X, here are some general guidelines.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Other things you can do to gain space.
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it run the automatic ans S.M,A.R.T. tests,  then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the tabs that have the ability to clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
    Good Luck!

  • Mail is not working. The app opens because I see a light on under "Mail" in the dock.

Mail is not working. The app opens because I see a light on under "Mail" in the dock, and I see the menu at the top of my screen, but I don't see the app itself or any windows. It is like it is running in the background, but I can't see it. Everthing is subdued when I click on the choices up in the menu. I have tried "Force Quit" and then re-opening the mail app several times, and have rebooted my notebook twice. What is weird is that this started right after I changed my password in a browser (it is a gmail account). I went into the System Preferences on my MacBook and changed my password there as well, so it should be setup properly to open. I am running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.   Any help anyone can provide is much appreciated.

The current Mail version for 10.6.8 Snow Leopard is 4.6 (1085).   Run Software update or the combo updater ... Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1

  • Can't use the "send by e-mail" button on forms created in Acrobat Pro 9 with Firefox

I created a form in Acrobat Pro 9.5.2 with a "send by e-mail" button as usual (not using LiveCycle Designer). Since a few months, users cannot send forms using that button USING FIREFOX works fine in Explorer. I've been creating and using those forms since 2 years whitout any problems but now this is A BIG PROBLEM for our office as all our reservation forms uses this technology.
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. create a form using Acrobat Pro. add an action button " send a form". send the Entire PDF form not just FDF. go in advance tool to give all rights to end-users (in French it's "étendre les fonctions d'adobe reader" I think it’s enable the usage rights for Reader ion English.)
2.publishing the form on my website (or send by e-mail to someone who use reader)
    3. filling the form
    Results:
when the user fill the form he can't send it by e-mail using the button. Nothing happens when hitting that button. It is not possible to save the document as well. Nothing can be done, not even printing or saving it. I've tried almost all browsers I know and nothing works.
    Expected results:
the form should be send by e-mail (as an attachment in general) like before. please help me! this is really important, our office have a lot of calls and we are just 2 people here (non-profit organization). should we buy Acrobat Pro X ?
I can send you the form, my e-mail is rgelinas at canadianclub-montreal dot ca
    thanks all!

When your customers opened the PDF form (which was as an email attachment) on iPads, it is highly likely that Apple Mail (not Adobe Reader for iOS) was displaying the preview of the PDF form.   Please note that Apple products on iPad/iPhone (e.g. Apple Mail, iBooks, Safari) do not render field contents or annotations (sticky notes, highlight, underline, strikeout, freehand drawing, etc.) in PDF documents.
The Mail sections of the following FAQ documents describe how to open PDF attachments in Adobe Reader for iOS.
For iPad, see How to get PDF documents into Adobe Reader for iOS (iPad on iOS 7 version)
For iPhone, see How to open PDF documents in Adobe Reader for iOS (iPhone on iOS 7 version)

  • Problem using the e-mail button in Acrobat Pro 7.1.0 with Outlook 2013

I just switched my e-mail application from Mozilla Thunderbird to Outlook 2013.
I have always been able to click the e-mail button in Acrobat 7.1.0 to open a blank e-mail message with the PDF file attached.
I keep getting an error now that I have Outlook 2013.
It says "You need to create a Microsoft Outlook profile.  In Microsoft Windows, go to the Control Panel and open Mail.  Click Show Profiles, and then click Add"
Then, when I click on the OK button it says "Acrobat is unable to log in to your email application.  Please check your account settings and try again."
I have checked and I have one profile in Control Panel called Outlook.  Outlook is set as my default e-mail program.
I tried using a 3rd party PDF reader (Foxit Reader) and the e-mail button works as expected (opens a new message with the PDF attached).
I am running Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit with Outlook 2013 32-bit (this was what was recommended by Microsoft on the Office download site).
I would appreciate help anyone can provide to fix this problem.
    Thank you.

It may be a similar issue, but not the same issue. This is not the Reader forum, but if you are worried about the compatibility it is a simple matter to upgrade your Reader to AR XI. The original post had to do with a cost product, not the free Reader.
For AA7, the PDF Maker of AA7 is not compatible with Outlook 2013 as suggested. You should still be able to open most PDFs, but to create a PDF from Outlook you will have to print to the Adobe PDF printer or upgrade to AA XI.

  • E-mail button using something other then Outlook

My question is simple when using an e-mail button you can send the PDF or XML through e-mail to a certain address such as a gmail, yahoo, msn or etc.. email account but the host e-mail server it is using is the Outlook on your local machine. My question is if I did not have Outlook installed on my machine and had my yahoo or gmail e-mail accounts logged in on the web browser and then I click on the e-mail button on a certain form could they use the gmail or e-mail account for sending or will it not work. Simply put to send e-mail using the E-mail submit button you always use Outlook is there a way to use a script to make the submit button using gmail or yahoo instead.

There is a dialog that pops up that indicates that we can use the default enail client on your machine or if you do not have one or you want to use a web mail client then it is up to you to save the file and create your own email and add this file as an attachment. There is no api available to be able to automate the web mail.

  • Toolbar Mail button Gmail

    Dear readers...
I am glad to finally see the safari 4 final edition. I adore it, en will leave it with that!.
    I question remains,
How can I change the way the Toolbar Mail-button behaves?
I want it to open my Gmail account, in HTTP... is this possible?
    Thanks!

What exactly are you talking about?
Try reading the question - it's quite clear exactly what he's talking about.
He wants the Email Page button (that he's added to the Safari toolbar) to use GMail, rather than open the Mac's default email client.
I've read that the Google Notifier lets you do this:
    http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/notifier_mac.html
    I've not tried it.

  • E-mail button changes email address when submitting

    Hello,
For some reason when I try to e-mail my form when I hit the submit by e-mail button in the Send Form that pops up the e-mail address that the form is supposed to be sent to is different than what I have set it up to be on the form. I have tried creating the e-mail submit button using the e-mail button from the standard library and by using a regular button and changing it to a submit button, but it does not make a difference.
Can anyone tell me how to get it to not change the e-mail address when I try to submit my form? The e-mail address I have entered it to be sent to is: [email protected] but when I go to submit when testing my form it adds an "a" onto the end of association so the e-mail address is changed to: [email protected]
this means that when I submit it the form does not go to my inbox because the email address is wrong, even though the e-mail address is entered correctly in the Object palette in LiveCycle Designer.
    Thanks
    Tamara

    Hi Tamara,
It seams to be a glitch with your version of LiveCycle Designer. It should work if you manually change the auto-generated script instead of using Designer's dialog. Here's how you can do that:
    1) Select your email submit button and open the Script Editor (Ctrl+Shift+F5)
    2) Make sure you select the 'click' event or 'Events with Scripts' filter at the top left of the script editor window next to 'Show:'
    3) Near the end of the script (line 57 and 59) you will see 'mailto:' followed by the faulty email address you were seeing.
    4) Change it to what you need it to be (both lines)
I have an earlier version of Designer, so I can't test it myself, so let me know how it works for you.
You can also find it edited here. I also made your tables flow for you.

  • How can I add a password request when I push on the Mail button ?

    Hi,
I want to secure the access to my emails on my iphone, because anyone can read them when they got my iphone. How can I secure this ?
I mean the easiest is to ask for a password when you push the Mail button or the SMS one.
Someone know how to do that ?
    Thanks for your help.

This is not supported with the iPhone but who has access to your iPhone that would take the liberty to check your email accounts and SMS messages when using it?
My iPhone is never out of my sight but if lost or stolen, I have my iPhone password protected which prevents access to any iPhone functions.

I assume you created a .mac account in Mail. You might want to try deleting the account and recreating it. Assuming you Internet connection is good, it sounds like Mail doesn't understand where to get mail.

  • Get e-mail button doesn't work

The only way I can get Thunderbird 24.5.0 to get this messages is to hit the drop down arrow and click on each of the two accounts separately. Even the get all new messages doesn't work. I've tried to delete the inbox & inbox.mfg (?) folders for each account and the local folder, resetting Thunderbird, tried to remove icons during customizing tool bar, then restoring defaults without any luck. I don't think something is set up correctly. What I am trying to get Thunderbird to do is to check both accounts with the get mail button and put all the massages in the same inbox. It worked that way on the version I had on XP and I have moved to WIn 7 can't figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

''check both accounts with the get mail button''
Tools (Alt-T) - Account Settings - Server Settings - Advanced
Check 'Include this server when getting new mail.'
