Mail button went dead

I added an email account, a pop 3 acct and mail button on the bottom died, but now I have a mailbox tag on the top, and I cannot access the new account.

Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset.

IPad 2 home button went dead after iOS 7 upgrade

A few months ago I upgraded to iOS 7.0 a couple of days back. I haven't been using my iPad much ever since. And till now I have been using it scarcely. So I was quite shocked to find that the home button went dead today. For no rhyme or reason that I can think of. Upgrading to iOS 7.0.3. Hoping this solves this issue. Meanwhile any suggestions, welcome and appreciated.

How can i get my iphone 4 back up after it went dead. It had plenty of power, and it will not come up even after i hold down the home and power buttons for 30 seconds.

My iphone 4 went dead even when there was plenty of batery life. I ran through the reboot for holding down the home button with the power button and it still did not come back up. Any thoughts?

Plug it into a wall outlet for at least 30 minutes, then try resetting it again. If no respose, you most likely have a hardware issue. Make an appointment at an Apple store.

The iPhone6 I purchased 9/23/2014 went dead. Went to use the phone this afternoon and nothing. Tried turning the phone off/on, nothing. Tried rebooting phone by pressing the home and power button's while the phone was connected to power, nothing. Can't believe that the phone battery is dead or that the phone is fried after only six (6) months of usage. Any suggestions (hopefully other than purchasing a new phone) is appreciated.

Try the things in this Apple article (some of the which you may have already done). If none of them work go to an Apple Store if there is one in your area. Or contact Apple via the website for support help. "Erase Junk "Mail" button is not active

I just went into mail and saw that I had 4 emails in my junk folder. I went up mailbox>erase junk mail, but the button was dead - greyed out. I had to drag the junk mail to the trash folder and then empty trash. Is there a problem here or a fix?

My razr maxx went dead over night and I cannot turn it on. The battery was charged and I plugged it back in to be sure. Still cannot turn it on. Is there a way to remove the battery to reset it or can it be done another way?

The phone would not turn on at all. While I was hoping for a reply I read the thread above mine, outlining how to do a factory reset. I removed the sim and memory cards and tried the alternative method. The phone came on when I released the buttons. I powered it back down and replaced the cards, All is working fine. My battery went dead and I had to plug it in. after several hours I went back to it and it is has an icon that is saying plug in and itunes. It won't do anything else- nothing. I can't turn it off or or on and I have no access to my phone.

I have no idea what that means. My phone will not turn on even after I hold both buttons. i was told a while back that the i7 program can mess this up and to hold both buttons down to reboot the phone. I tried this but even this isn't working. Any ideas?

Try using a differnt USB cord. Or hold down the power/home button together for 10 to 15 sec or until you see the apple logo and then release, wait for your phone to boot back up.

Why can't I connect to my email when I push mail button on my device

This morning when I checked my email I received an email from my email provider ( yahoo.com ) advising me to change my password because of some suspicious activity on my account. I proceeded to sign in & change my password & was successful ( so I thought ) but ever since I did that I can no longer sign in using any of my mobile devices ( iPhone 6 plus & iPad Air ), every time I hit the mail button on either device I get an error message saying Cannot Get Mail - The connection to the server failed but if I go to yahoo mail on Google & sign in manually I get my email. ( this is a pain in the butt ) how do I fix this as it's driving me crazy.

If you clicked on a link in the email "from yahoo" to change your password you have just compromised your account. The email wasn't from Yahoo, it was a "phishing" email designed to steal your password. You will need to contact Yahoo on their website.
If you did NOT click on a link, but went to https://yahoo.com and logged in to change your password you may be OK. But you will have to update the mail settings on your phone with the new password. Go to Settings/mail,contacts,calendars, tap on the account, update the password with the new one, then go to Outgoing mail server and do the same thing again.

Try the suggestions in this Apple document -> Troubleshooting iPhone hardware
Will not turn on, or will not turn on unless connected to power
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions.   If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage.   If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check    if the Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) in the headset jack or dock connector is activated or there are signs of corrosion or debris. Learn more about LCIs.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least 15 minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See   "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
If something other than the Home screen or Low Battery screen appears on the display, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.

I had a similar issue where my iPhone just died on me even though it had plenty of battery left. I was told to do a hard reset by holding the lock and home buttons down together for 15 seconds. When I did my phone came back on and worked normally.

Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

How to make "Get Mail" button work for new IMAP acct?

Recently, I started new Internet service with Charter. I set up my new email mail account on my iMac, and everything is working perfectly.....except that Mail checks the Charter email account for new messages ONLY when Mail is first started or the first time I "Synchronize". There's no way to know that messages are waiting, and no other way to download messages.
When I click the "get mail" button, the little wheel thing appears for all the accounts (I still have my ATT accounts active), except the Charter account. When Mail automatically checks for messages, it checks all the accounts except the Charter account.
The messages sent to the Charter account show up right away on the web (looking at my account on Charter's web site). I have no trouble at all sending emails. I have the account set up with IMAP (although, I tried POP, with no change). I have this account set to "Include when automatically checking for messages". I've shut down and restarted multiple times.
I've talked with Charter support, and they've checked their server and all my settings, and everything is OK. I'm inclined to agree it's not an issue on their end. It seems to be Mail.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Yup. It was set to "every 5 minutes", and changing that made no difference. Mail completely ignores the charter account when doing the automated mail check and when I click "get mail".
I went to the local Apple store, without my iMac but with screen shots of the email settings, plus settings info from charter, and we set up the account on one of the iMacs there. It worked perfectly. The guy helping me suggested deleteting the account and setting it up again.
I did exactly that, but the behavior is the same. So.....the next thing to do is take the iMac in. (sigh.)

URGENT HELP; My BB9300 went dead all of a sudden

My BB 9300 just went dead last night. I know by battery at that time is low. So, when I got back at home i tried charging it. The red led went on and after some time screen showed a battery icon that it is kinda charging and all 4 bars are grayed. Understood that the battery might be dead. Tried to turn it on but nothing. Waited for a few hours, same thing. Tried to push any of the keys, power, call button, etc, buts still nada! Any advice? Any recommended service center? BTW, I'm in Metro Manila, philippines.

Put your phone in DFU mode,
Hold the Power Button (3 secs)
Continue holding the power button and also hold the home button (15 secs)
Release the power button while continuing to hold the home button (10 secs)
Your device should prompt with the "Connect to iTunes Screen"
Restore.
