Mail changes pdf to jpg
When I attach a pdf and send mail, the pdf is changed to a jpg. I need for the recipient to get a pdf, not a jpg. How do I change this?
Hopefully someone form Apple is reading these posts. The inability to set the default to show as icons is an absolute nuisance. At times I have to attach as many as 20 PDFs that are only a few paragraphs. Each one shows as a a full page, resulting in an e-mail that is pages in length. The fact that there is no warning about the implications of the size change is even worse. I learned of it from a customer that was asking why my proposal consisted of a bunch of "teeny" pictures.
This message is written by the principal in a business that is trying to make Apple the prime platform for that business. This type of behavior in handling business attachments renders the Mac a toy. If similar incidents of this magnitude occur the Macs will get turned over to the kids, and while it won't be a pleasant experience, I'll be off to Comp USA to buy a Windows machine.

Is it more than one page? If not, open it in Preview and Save As a jpg file. It can only do one page at a time (the current page showing in Preview) so you would have to do one page at a time doing Save As to multiple jpg's.

QuickView: How can I change the default full screen width of PDFs and JPGs

I am very happy with the changes on the new OSX Lion. But I have a disappointment form QuickView. On Snow Leopard I will hit the "Option+Space" to QuickView files (mostly pdf and jpg) on full width and just scroll up and down with the mouse or the arrow keys. Now in Lion, when I press "Option+Space" I get the file on full height. This does not work for me because the information on screen is too small and I end up having to open the file on Preview.
How can I change this settings so they are like on Snow Leopard?

You can see here my community #1234 has a wide first column and a more narrow column two and even puts a little solid line between them.
It's all in the stylesheets on your imageserver at the path I mentioned earlier. Again, look at the experience definition object in your admin portal and look at the stylesheet name in the dropbox. The stylesheet name you see is mapped to the .css file using the community-themes.txt file in the same ...yadayada/common/public/css folder on the imageserver.
If you have, lets say, a mainstyle1-en.css that only has about a dozen lines dictating only the few items you mentioned before - then it has been stripped at one time because the default that comes w/ an original install is huge and a great starting point. It even has style tips and snippets in comment blocks to tutor you through its gargantuan variety of options. -

By what kind of security I meant what is allowed and what is not allowed under the security tab that I mentioned in my last post?
You can look at that and see if it restricts what you are trying to do. If it does then yes, you need a version of Acrobat (and the password of course) to change it. -

Mail turns PDF attachment into jepg
I use distiller and acrobat to create PDFs from Quark documents; for the last few days, attaching a new PDF to an email in Mail has turned the PDF into a jpeg which PC users can't open. The problem has just cleared itself (without me knowingly doing anything) but it has happened before and I guess may happen again. Any idea of the cause and solution?
What I should have said is Apple should not make the Image Size adjustment an available option when a PDF file is attached to a message.
Yes, this is the answer. Using the term seemed to happen - it either happens or it doesn't but Mail will not and cannot change the file type or the file extension for an attached file without user intervention. Using the Image Size adjustment for a single page PDF file which appears inline or viewed in place within the body of the message does change the file type or file extension for the file from .pdf to .jpg since the Image Size adjustment is intended and can only be used for picture or image file attachments, not with PDF files. -
Exporting multiple e-mails as .pdf
I'm responsible for coordinating a multi-author, book-writing project and I've been asked to store all e-mail correspondences in a fashion that allows all of the authors and project managers to access the e-mails. I have a shared folder set up on my Google drive that allows all the users to access shared files which is working fantastically, but I can't find a way to export large quantities of e-mails at the same time that also works for Google drive.
After a quick Google search I found this site which provided instructions on how to install this set of scripts which allowed me to archive my selected e-mails as .rtf files with their attachments. It works great and allows me to customize the naming of the files to allow other authors to easily locate a specific e-mail. It names each file "From %f to %t - %s - %M %d, %Y.rtf" where %t is the recipient, %f is the sender, %s is the subject/thread topic and %M %d, %Y is Month day, year (eg To John Smith from Jane Doe - Book Project - December 12, 2012.rtf).
Unfortunately, after uploading the folder containing all these .rtf files I found out that .rtf can't be viewed on Google and must be downloaded then opened on the user's computer. To fix this I tried having Google automatically convert the files to Google docs as it uploaded the files, but this didn't work and even if it did I fear the files would lose their attachments.
I then tried searching for scripts that would allow me to change all of the .rtf files to .pdf. I found and tried a few, but they all had problems (the script would only operate on pre Mountain Lion, the requires Word for Mac, etc.)
Then I tried finding a script that would work like the first successful one, but export the files as .pdf rather than .rtf. I couldn't find anything, but found an article that reminded me I could print to .pdf from mail ("Save as PDF..." in the system print window). I tried doing this, but after 'printing' the first of all the e-mails an error box pops up and no more e-mails 'print.' If I "Open PDF in Preview" I can successfully save all of the e-mails as .pdf, but their file names are all Preview of "<e-mail subject>".pdf which isn't helpful because nearly all correspondences in the group have a subject like "Book" or "Book Project" meaning it'd be impossible to determine which e-mail is which by the .pdf filename.
I feel like their are a lot of different routes I can take to solve this problem, I just need help finding the components:
1. Use the first successful script to export as .rtf, then use another script to convert them to .pdf. This would be the best because it will allow me to use a useful filenaming system. To do this I need a script that can convert .rtf to .pdf on my system.
2. Find a script like the first, successful script I used that allows me to export the e-mails as a .pdf using the subject, to/from, etc. as the filename.
3. Open PDF in Preview, save, then use a script to rename all the files by extracting the subject, to/from and date from the .pdfs. To do this I need a script that can find the subject, etc. in the .pdf and use that data to change the file name. (I highly doubt such a script exists and I don't have the script-writing skills to create one myself.)
4. Any other solution that allows me to take a lot of e-mails from my Mail app and upload them to my Google drive while maintaining attachments and generating logical filenames.
5. Any other solution that makes it possible for me to make correspondences available for all authors to access (keeping in mind that cross-platform compatibility is essential).
Suggestions?I found your first suggestion while doing a Google search. That post was made in mid-2011, almost a year before Mountain Lion released. Apple changed the way scripts work in Mountain Lion and this script no longer works.
As far as I can tell, the second solution only works for printing one e-mail to a .pdf at a time and doesn't support batch filenaming. -

A cyclic job runs, which processes the messages seen in the SOST queue.
Are you sure it's not the frequency of the cyclic job, rather than the
number of messages in the queue, that you are observing? In messages
that are queued and before the cyclic job runs, "wait for comm. service"
is the normal status.
If you mean that there are always 4 items queued in SOST regardless of
the cyclic send job, then I have no ideas. I would have thought there
was no way to do that.
when the send job runs it just never
picks them up & sends them, while it picks up many others. The send job
is somehow blind to these; no error message occurs. In this case, I
'delete' them from the queue (in SOST) and then 'undelete' (drop down
menu -> /Go to /Deleted Items) them and then re-queue them. THEN they
actually get picked up & sent when the next cyclic send job executes.

I have a requiremtnt. If i execute my ALV report in background, the output should be sent to the reciepient's mail in pdf format. i have used the function moudles CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF and SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1. Now i am able to see my report output in spool in some pdf formt. how can i send this to the reciever mail as an attachement...pls send me any sample report which suits my reqirement...thanks in advance,

Acrobat X Pro - Export multiple PDFs to JPG
In Acrobat 9 Pro I am able to export multiple pdfs to jpg using file--->export multiple.... In Acrobat X I can't seem to find this funtionality. Any ideas?
Thanks.I tried this script and it did work but I needed to export to PNG rather than JPG. I could not see a way to do that without actual scripting, which I don't know how to do. So I opened the script linked here in Textpad and just changed "jpg" to "png" and it worked - happy day for me! Apple Mail change my signature font
I need for business purpose to have a separate font for my email font and my signature. But everytime Apple Mail change my signature font according to the body font.
What can I do? (I didn't check the box with "use my default font")

AndreaI sign the pdf with a digital signature which includes a picture of my written signature. When I attach it to Apple mail or upload to mobileme, the signiture disappears. My clients see nothing. When I go back to the email in the sent box and open the pdf in the email there is no signature. When I open the original pdf the signature is there

so i can write outside my office informations to the mail on my ipad.
now i miss this option.
the support from save2pdf tould me, that apple stopped this option.
there is no possibility to print a e-mail in a pdf-file.
why?

I have installed Acrobat DC, and would like to combine 2 files. One is excel allready converted to PDF - No problem. The other one is from Pastel mailed as PDF.

I can understand your concern, however can you please let me know that are you able to open both the PDF files ( the one you converted form excel to pdf & the other pdf that was mailed to you ) individually without using any password?
As it asks for the password, it means that the postal mailed PDF is password protected. You can ask for the password from the sender of the postal mail & then try to combine the files.

This will probably resolve your issue.
