Mail close instantly when open

Question

This is my first time using the discussion board. I have problems opening Mail application.
When I open my Mail application, an error message instantly pop up saying "The application Mail quit unexpectedly."
I have tried:
1. Restart
2. Delete Mail from Applications and "reinstall" or "relaunch" using old Mail file from Time Machine.

I also need to explain how I get to this situation. Around 3-5 days ago, mail starts to have an error similar to another user had. If I open any new or old mail, it will immediately terminates the Mail application.
At first, I thought it will be resolved when I restart, so I never look into it and used mobileme to check (as I have been using all the time).
Later I restart and this error still occur when I open any new or old email.
I thought it is to do with me having too many mails in the Mail application, so I went and delete a large number of emails in my Trash folder. As I delete, the application had error, and close itself. From then on, whenever I open the Mail application, it will just terminates immediately.
It would be great if someone can give me some indication as to how I can resolve this problem!!

You're using the To Do feature, which appears to be the cause of this problem. So, open iCal and remove all your To Do items, save the changes and quit. Then try opening Mail.
If that works, you should quit Mail, then try adding back To Do items one at a time in iCal, saving the changes, quitting iCal and testing Mail after each one to see if the problem recurs. Don't go around deleting programs just because they might crash or quit unexpectedly for some reason; that will lead to more problems than you imagine.
