Mail compatibility with outlook

Greetings,
all my windows/outlook clients and friends don't see my e-mails properly.
I tested it also. *the problem is that when I use my composed signature, witch inlcudes text and the company logo in a small gif file everything gets to outlook as an attachment*. Sometimes it also happens with no text.
thanks

These are user to user forums, so you won't find help from Apple as such. If you haven't done so already, you can try searching this forum for "Outlook" to find other discussions related to problems when that app is being used at the other end. I suspect people who need maximum compatibility with the MS world use Entourage or Thunderbird rather than Mail.
You can tell Apple how you would like Mail improved here:

  • Mail compatibility with Outlook Exchange server?

As a result of a merger and longtime staff complaints, my largely PC-based organization is converting to an Outlook-based e-mail system.
I telecommute from another city and use a Mac exclusively. Presently, I retrieve my e-mail from the existing system (First Class) by having Mail "grab" it off the server. I would like to continue to do this after the changeover to Outlook.
Is that possible with my version of Mail (2.1.3), and if so, how? What about using Mobile Me to reroute Outlook messages to Mail? If neither of these alternatives will work, will I have to use Entourage?

I love mac mail, however, have "test run" entourage, and found it pleasant, a lot better than outlook, actually (not as clonky and visually more appealing). The setup is very different to macmail, of course (not as neat). But this is just an opinion, in case you go with entourage (it will import mac mail settings fine).
I do not think, however, that mac mail and outlook server are compatible (see http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=173560).
Is thunderbird compatible (free and quite nice, i think)?

  • Sync Mail settings With Outlook

Hello , i am totally new at this. I have a question, how I can sync my mail settings with Microsoft Outlook . In my situation , I use Microsoft Outlook of course. When I use the Mail app it downloads all my messages , however they each appear with a blue dot next to them indicating it's unread. So I want to make it that , if I read a message in the Mail app , it will also mark it as unread on the Outlook server . If I delete a message in Mail , it deletes on Outlook as well, and so on . Please tell me how i can do this, thanks.

Syncing via MobileMe might work - but it costs and you have to be able to install a client on the Outlook PC. There's a 60-day trial of you want to have a look

  • Mail compatibility with Windows 7

I continue to be disappointed by the Bill Gates-like approach that Apple is taking with its integration for mail. With the recent "upgrade" to the me.com site, I have completely lost the ability to check mail from my work computer. I am a big fan of Apple. Our family has over a dozen Apple products, including an AirPort, 2 iPhones, multiple laptops and desktops, and 2 iPads. Unfortunately, I do not make the decisions at work regarding the software or hardware available to employees. Apple's decision to not support the Windows 7 platform is disappointing. No access to mail, contacts, photos - I may as well just junk all my Apple stuff and buy Windows crap.

    Hi jmoses,
The run time engine for CVI is backwards compatible, so as long as you are using either the 2009 or 2009 SP1 run time engines (which are compatible with Window 7 x64) your application should be able to run. That said, it is also worth noting that there are differences between Windows XP and Vista/7, such as changes in the directory structure, which can cause compatibility issues separate from the code itself being able to run. For example, application data is now stored in C:\ProgramData as opposed to the Program Files directory. As long as your application does not try to do anything that Windows now prohibits, you should be fine.

  • Compatability with outlook 2007?

I have office 2007 installed and the contact information from outlook transfered properly but the data from the calendar did not transfer. All that appears is a display of a monthly calendar but without any scheduled information. It says the information has been transfered but I cannot find any scheduled information. Is there a solution or am I doing something wrong?

I have neither a Zire 72 nor do I sync with Outlook. Which version of Palm Desktop are you using? Did you sync with a previous version of Outlook?
Have you taken a look around the Windows Hotsync board or searched on Outlook 2007 in that board? Your solution may already be there.

  • Icloud compatibility with Outlook on Windows 7 pc

Is icloud compatible with Outlook Calendar?  I can enter an appointment on my iphone 4s and it will show up in outlook on my windows 7 pc; however, when I enter an appointment into my computer, it doesn't show up on my phone.  I need a way to have my calendars match and get my reminder alerts.

There are a couple threads (per day? dozen in last week?) about installer issues.
Trouble is, if it doesn't happen with a clean install of Windows and iTunes etc, and you aren't using Norton or XYZ, and your BIOS was current.... motherboard drivers, and nothing you installed conflicts of course.
people do things over the life of an OS with patches, registry changes, how they maintain, what else is installed.
And I really doubt Apple does much if any testing for 3rd party issues.
Create a new partition for Windows for testing, does it happen there?
No, for me, I converted the other direction as I have strong doubts about Apple software testing, and why I try to avoid 10.5.0 or anything they put out ends in zero or even in one sometimes.

  • Mac Mail Compatibility with Recipients who use Outlook

    Hi,
I use Mac Mail while the majority of the recipients that my work emails go to use Outlook on a PC. Here are the issues I am encountering:
    1. I am aware that font recognition is different on a Mac vs. a PC, so I set my font to Times New Roman which I understand to be standard across all platforms.
    2. When I send an email, the Outlook recipient receives my message and the font and my signature is at least 2-3 font sizes larger than the size in which I wrote the email in Mac Mail.
This makes for very unprofessional looking emails. Additionally, I am very surprised that Apple has not figured out a way to easily allow us to create and use signatures that include logos, etc.
Interestingly enough, when I send email from my iPhone and someone views on Outlook, it looks just fine!
    I am on Lion.
Any comments are welcome, and thanks.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

  • Calendar compatibility with Outlook

I'm a new Mac user, running Mavericks w/ Thunderbird for email and Calendar for appointments.  (I tried Apple Mail and it was nothing but problems).  I work in a Windows/Outlook environment.  My coworkers schedule a lot of meetings using Outlook Calendar...and I no longer can receive these since I switched to Mac.  (I get the email, but the appointment does not show up.)
Is there any way to create compatability?
I suppose I could try Outlook for Mac, but the user community seems to indicate that this program has a lot of issues.
    I appreciate any advice.  Thanks!

Is the company you work for using an Exchange server?
I use Calendar and Apple Mail with Exchange without any issues at all. Configuration might be the issue.
I also use Outlook, I don't find it has a lot of issues at all, but by choice I use Mail just because I like it's simplicity.

  • Mail synch with Outlook 2007 vs. Server

Hey there, I'd like to sort out an issue I'm having with the eMail sync process between Outlook and my iPhone. I hope I'll be able to get this across ...
I like to use my PC as my primary eMail machine, at the same time being able to synch my emails to the iPhone. What I don't like to see is my iPhone synching eMail directly with my eMail Server.
I have connected the iPhone to the PC, using iTunes and I am synching contacts, calender and email through iTunes to the iPhone. However, it seems my iPhone is synching directly with my eMail Server (which sits at my ISP) rather than with my PC. Is there any way to stop this and to make sure the iPhone will synch eMail only with the PC not with the sever?
    Configuration is:
    PC with Vista, Outlook 2007
    iPhone 1.1.4
    Thx !

There is no syncing of actual mail files through iTunes. The settings in iTunes for mail are to configure the Mail accounts on the phone.
The Mail application is a mail client just as you would find on a computer. When you configure the mail account settings, the iPhone accesses your mail servers and retrieves/sends mail.

  • 10.9.2 compatibility with Outlook 2011

Office 2011 re-installed from CD on MacBook Pro 8,1 early 2011.   Xcel, PP and Word all work.  I received an error mesage when I tried to launch Outlook - seemed to be a version / compatibility issue with 10.9.2.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Have you updated Office 2011 to the most recent version? You can get the most recent version from the Microsoft website > http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads
First, install the 14.1.0 update, and then, install the 14.4.1 version.

  • MacOS 10.6.8 mail issues with Outlook

    Hi,
I am using the Mail application on my MacBook Pro to download Gmail and Outlook mail. I don't have any problems with the Gmail but unfortunately I do have some with the Outlook mail (Exchange 2007 server). After I send mail, I don't see the Send field and the Cc and Bcc field. That is a problem because I use Cc and Bcc very often.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've written to Zoom some time ago to and got the following e-mail:
    Dear Mr. Rasmus Nielsen,
Thank you for using our product.
First of all, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
We are seeking a solution to settle the matter. We will inform you as soon as we find answer to the problem.
    Thank you for your patience.
    Sincerely yours,
    ZOOM Corporation <<
the solvation will be to check into http://www.zoom.co.jp/downloads/r16/software/ everyday, but sadly it takes some time to find the core of the issue and then fix it, make it a new driver and set it up... But check in recently, and when the new driver is avaible, the issue can be solved by downloading!

  • Is there a Mail alternative with Outlook functionality?

Can anyone suggest a good alternative to Mail (which is just pathetic in my opinion)?  I am looking for a program that has, all on the same screen, just like Outlook, my mail, calendar and appointments/reminders.

You can download Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac and try Microsoft Outlook for Mac > http://www.microsoft.com/mac

  • Iphoto compatibility with Outlook under Mountain Lion

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, I can't send pictures from Iphoto though Outlook.  Anyone know the solution or if Apple will fix this?

Thanks, but I am already aware of that setting.  The problem is that when you click to send the pictures, Outlook is called up from the dock, but then nothing happens.  There is no connection that prepares an outgoing mail.  I have started using Apple's Mail program, but am wondering if someone knows of how to get this same functionality in Outlook.
    Thanks,

  • Setup fails with outlook 2007

    Hi,
Is iCloud 3 not compatable with outlook 2007? I am running windows 7 32 bit with outlook 2007. My contacts stopped syncing with my iphone. I signed out of iCloud and back in. Set up now fails with "your setup failed to start due to an unexpected error" then setup crashes. I have removed iCloud, Outlook and removed the .me pst file from the local folder. Reinstalled Outlook, icloud and then tried setup again and saddly the same error comes up.
Is there anyway to get icloud 2?
    Regards,
    Jonathan

Same problem, email redirector works fine. It connects to mass storage device everything works except sync. Did you find an answer to your problem?

  • Droid X compatibility with MS Outlook e-mail, calendar, and contacts?

    Hey all,
I originally got into the Smart phone world with a Palm and have to admit that I loved the fact that i was able to stay 100% in wireless sync with my work e-mails, schedule, and contacts on Outlook.   If I added an appointment to my calendar on my palm and came back to my PC thirty minutes later it would be on my PC Outlook schedule too.   I did not have to plug it in to sync it or anything.  The IT guy at our plant set it up and did a great job.  My plant had to let him go during the slow economy times a few years back and my latest phone (the original Blackberry Storm) has been a huge let down.   It will give me my e-mails via the internet and will sync with outlook calendar and contacts if I plug it in but it cannot sync those items without a hard wire (unless of course I just did not know how to make it work).   I am decently tech savy but not to this degree....
I am elgible for a new phone in the next few weeks and my son has the new Droid X and I love a great deal of things about it, but I wanted to check in to see how friendly it sync's with MS Outlook if anyone out there who uses Outlook a ton at work could give me an update I would appreciate it.   I guess I do not anticipate it will work as flawlessly as the Palm but do not want to walk into a phone which is even more difficult to sync with Outlook then the storm.   Thanks for any feedback and suggestions you can give me.
Thanks for any comments, suggestions, or just feedback

I use Touchdown from Nitodesk for my work email. Its a little pricey, but it works with your companys OWA (Outlook Web Access) portal. They do have a 30 day trial that they insist that you try to make sure it will work for you before you shell out any money for the app. It syncs the Calendar, notes, tasks, emails etc.
It has a discovery feature that it will figure out what it needs to configure. All you need to provide is how you log into OWA (Username/password, website) and the program does the rest. It works very well for me.
No I am not employed by Nitrodesk. I only use the program. There was no need to ask my IT people to set anything up for me.
Give it a try, it might work as well for you too.
One day I will have to give this app a try, I am just use to configuring my device to sync without a 3rd party app but I have heard that Touchdown seems to be the best thing going to setup a corp sync process..
