Dear All,
We are using Microsoft Exchange Online (Microsoft Hosted Solution for Exchange – Office 365) for sending and receiving emails. Now we want to setup SAP SMTP so that emails / notifications can be sending through SAP via Microsoft Exchange Online. It is quite easy to configure for setting SMTP Services for locally hosted Exchange Server. But this is the first time I am trying to setup for Microsoft Exchange Online.
Current Instance Profile settings are as follows;
is/SMTP/virt_host_1 *:25000
is/SMTP/virt_host_0 *:*
icm/server_port_2 PROT=HTTPS,PORT=44300,PROCTIMEOUT=300,TIMEOUT=600
icm/server_port_1 PROT=SMTP, PORT=1080, TIMEOUT=180
icm/server_port_0 PROT=HTTP,PORT=8000,PROCTIMEOUT=300,TIMEOUT=600
ms/server_port_0 PROT=HTTP,PORT=81$$
SCOT Settings are
Mail Host smtp.office365.com
Mail Port 587
Following are the settings for configuring Outlook for Exchange Online – Office 365;
Server name
Port
Encryption method
POP3
outlook.office365.com
995
SSL
IMAP4
outlook.office365.com
993
SSL
SMTP
smtp.office365.com
587
TLS
Please assist if any one configure office365 with SAP.Hello Majid,
Were you able to setup SCOT for Office365 online, I have to setup same.
Can you help with some guidelines on how you setup.?

Scot configuration...Smtp
Hi friends,
there are 2 clients in our system in one of the client scot is configured and is working fine....
Now we need to configure the scot in the another client in the same system.. will this gona effect the previous client if not what all the steps need to be done to complete this configuration... smtp configuration..
please help me out in configuring smtp ..send me some blogs or documents
Regards
VijayDera Vijay,
Yes you got to configure the same in new client on the same server as SCOT configuration is client independent
Back to SCOT, the configuration of the SMTP should look like:
Mail Host: the Exchange server domain name (FQDN)
Mail port: 25
Code Page: what ever you need (like 4110 unicode UTF8)
in the supported address choose Internet then click on the SET button and include your company address like:@XXX.ac.in:)
In the SAP's user manager (SU01) the user need an email address to be able to send emails.

Mail configuration in SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.1
Hi All,
I am working on SMTP (Mail)Configuration in SAP Solution Manager 7.1. And our mail host is GOOGLE APPS.
Does any one had configured mail in SAP for hosted on GOOGLE APPS?
Does SAP will support this as it is external (mail) server?
I read note 455140, related notes and configured accordingly.
Steps I followed:
1. parameters maintained:
icm/server_port_2 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000,TIMEOUT=180
is/SMTP/virt_host_0 = *:25000;
2. User maintained: Dialog user with S_A.SCON profile with user address as username@<companyname>.com
3.Client Assignment: (SICF): a. Host Data:Profile Parameter Number: is/SMTP/virt_host_0
b. Service data: Client 100, user: username, password: ***, language: EN.
c. Handler List: CL_SMTP_EXT_SAPCONNECT in the first position
Saved Changes n Activated.
4.SAPconnect administration (SCOT):
a. Default domain: <companyname>.com
b. Nodes: SMTP Under node:
Mail Host: smtp.gmail.com
Mail Port: 25 and also tried 587
In Internet Address Area: *
5.Scheduled periodic Job with SAP&CONNECTALL variant
6. telnet <HOSTNAME> 25000 is successful
In both cases I am getting error as:
No delivery to ishan.sangai@<companyname>.com, authentication required
Message no. XS853
Diagnosis
The message was processed successfully in the SAP system. The mail server that is supposed to receive the message for further processing requires authentication. The SAP system does not support this procedure. As a result, the message was not delivered to recipient ishan.sangai@<companyname>.com.
Information from External System
_530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. p1admin@<companyname>.com
Procedure
The administration settings must be changed. The specified mail server must not request authentication.
7. I tried to telnet smtp.gmail.com 25 and 587 also
I am getting following output:
220 mx.google.com ESMTP ds5sm2193379ibb.5
HELO <HOSTNAME>
250 mx.google.com at your service
HELO <companyname>.com
250 mx.google.com at your service
MAIL FROM solman_admin@<companyname>.com ENVID=12345
530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. ds5sm2193379ibb.5
Does we need to talk with Google Apps provider for any modifications to be made for this.
if yes, which changes should I request them?
Please help me to solve this problem.
Please provide links, guides.notes etc. for this scenario
Thanks & Regards,
IshanHi we are configuring Google SMTP getting below error..

SAP SMTP requires Outlook to be configured?
Hi Everyone,
i have configured SMTP Mail in our Production Server.for that i have installed my Pop3 id in the local system's Outlook Express. the same Id has been assigned to SAP User id also,in SU01. Outbound Mail is working fine.
If i delete my Local Outlook pop3 configuration, my SAP mails are not going out.
My question is that, is it necessary to configure Pop3 id in Outlook to send SAP mails using SAP connect?
Because, we have plenty of SAP Users in our company. it is not possible to give POP3 id for all of them. even without assigning Domain Pop3 id i want all the users to send mails from SAP to Yahoo, hotmail , etc... is that possible? if so, how?
Plz clarify my doubts. Also Provide me SAP's Recommendations
Thanks&Regards,
SivaHi
To send mail out to all the possible ids, in SCOT
In the Mail Host and Mail Port fields, specify the mail server to which the outbound mails are to be sent (Which would be you company's mail host)
Enter the address area of the recipient addresses that are to be reached using this node. In general, * is used if all e-mails are to be sent using SMTP.
If you have done these setting, in SU01, along with the mail ids you enter for users, you should provide communication type Internet Mail.
This should solve your problem, and mails will be transmitted to all the required domains.

Mail Server and SMTP Configuration (Leopard Server)
Hello,
Our setup: Mac OS X SERVER 5.2 - LEOPARD SERVER
PowerPC G5
Orange Internet connection via a router / DHCP
We try to find such assistance in configuring your Mac book
OS Server at your service.
We set our server with a local area "domaine.intranet"
We created users with the interface, and have an address
"[email protected]."
Our messaging system works internally with the client MAIL.
We also have an Internet domain "domaine.fr", this area is hosted
In online.net.
We have personal e-mail addresses such as "[email protected]" always
Hosted by online.
We can check our e-mails via the client MAIL by IMAP.
However, we do not send emails to the outside world, and especially
"Domaine.fr" or "[email protected]."
In the console admin Server:
-- LETTERS: we have turned the SMTP protocol allowing mail
Entrant, authorizing "Relayer outgoing mail over the host:
Smtp.orange.fr "
At the tab relay, we leave the config classic 127.0.0.0 / 8
And 192.168.1.0/24.
In the history of mail, there are "postfix / postfix-7563]: fatal: the
Postfix mail system is not running, why then that the service operates on
Priori!
How can I be able to send emails to the outside knowing that we
Use addresses' [email protected]. "
Please tell us a direction to follow or procedure.
Sincerely,
ORIGINAL IN FRENCH
Notre configuration : Mac OS X SERVER 5.2 - LEOPARD SERVER
PowerPC G5
Postfix mail system is not running", pourquoi alors que le service fonctionne à
priori !
Comment faire pour pouvoir envoyer nos emails à l'extérieur sachant que nous
utilisons les adresses "[email protected]".
Merci de nous indiquer une direction à suivre ou une procédure.
Cordialement,

Mail SMTP configuration error: how to solve?
I have two problems with configuring SMTP accounts on my iPhone (4s, with IOS7):
1) the SMTP is configured, but iOS puts the wrong username together, so login fails. Here is, how:
SMTP server: smtp.myprovider.com (this is the SMTP of my provider)
username: [email protected] (mydomain.com is the domain I host there, and the EMAIL is my username!)
All other settings are trivial and correct.
... And now my iPhone connects (correctly) to the SMTP smtp.somewhere.com, but logs in with the username "[email protected]@smtp.myprovider.com" which obviously must fail.
Any suggestions?
2) I have several accounts (POP and IMAP), all of which need THEIR SPECIFIC SMTP account. Why?
Because an increasing number of providers have their SPAM filters configured so as they throw away (they don't even reject sometimes) all mail which is not sent by the SMTP of the provider where the domain is hosted (quite sensibly, though).
iOS lets me configure a primary SMTP and other SMTP, but does not let me configure ONE SMTP per ACCOUNT each. Or did I miss something?
The result: All mail is sent via the primary SMTP (which accepts mails from any email to any email as long as I am authentified), and some mails get thrown away by SPAM filters because the SMTP does not match the mail address.
Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated!
These things just threw my iPhone useless for mail for any mail account with is (what a shame!) not a MS Exchange account ... Steve would rotate in his grave if he heared that.watch on sun forum.

Hi all,
I am having problem regarding SMTP config. The error in SOST is occured whenever i am sending mail through a report program .
the long text of error message is as follows:
<b>Cannot process message in SAP System</b>
Message no. XS817
<b>Diagnosis</b>
Processing could not be continued due to a technical or configuration error in the SAP system.
<b>System response</b>
Processing was terminated.
<b>Procedure</b>
Processing was terminated in the SAP system. The reason is given in the details below:
<b>No ESMTP Plug-In Is Available for SAPconnect
</b>
I have checked my SMTP configuration and it has been rightly configured as per http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/af/73563c1e734f0fe10000000a114084/frameset.htm.
If you have any suggestions to rectify this please give me.
Thanks and Regards
Amit KUmarHi Amit,
Did you ever work a solution to this problem?
I am having the same issue at the moment and can work it out.

Hi,
We are doing SMTP configuration in our production system , i have a very basic question on this regards.
Does the SAP System must be have direct internet connection in order to send mails to internet address or we can connect the internet via SAProuter to send the internet mails?!
Thanks
Regards,
VikiYou need to use an SMTP server (MS Exchange, Lotus or any other).
Read the SMTP Guide.

Invalid recipient address in SMTP Configuration
Hi,
We are unable to send mails to external email id. We have two domains xyz.com and abc.com. We have installed all SAP server with xyz.com as FQDN. All email addresses in the company having user#xyz.com and user#abc.com for the same person. If we send mail from outlook to both user#xyz.com and user#abc.com the mail is reaching the recipient.
But from SAP if we want to send mail to both mail only goes to user#xyz.com. If we want to send to user#abc.com the we am getting error "No delivery to user#abc.com, invalid recipient address"
In Scot we have given xyz.com in default domain. In the connection we have tick the Node in use, then given Mail Host as mailserver.xyz.com, Mail port as 25, Code Page 0 No Conversion into Other Character Set and in the Address Area we have given *.
In Instance profile we maintained,
icm/server_port_2 PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000
icm/server_port_1 PROT=SMTP,PORT=0
is/SMTP/virt_host_1 *.25000
is/SMTP/virt_host_0 .
icm/server_port_0 PROT=HTTP,PORT=80$$
ms/server_port_0 PROT=HTTP,PORT=81$$
Please let me know what is missing in my configuration. I think configuration is correct as mail is going to xyz.com but not going to abc.com
Note: I user # instead of @. If I use @ in SDN forum then it treated as email id which is not allowd.
Regards,
SudipOk, this sounds like a relay issue. Messages sent to the local domain does not require authentication while when going to external domains they need to be authenticated, as SAP does not support SMTP username/password authentication you need to maintain the IP Address of your SAP system on the Relay Agent of your SMTP Server so they can be delivered. Talk to your Mail Team,
Also, If you have configured your system to use xyz domain, you should maintain the master data of the users (SU01) with an email account of the same domain.

Smtp configurations for italian email server
it seems I'm experiencing problems in creating email accounts for my hotmail.it, yahoo.it and libero.it providers..
can anyone help with smtp configurations?
thanks
mThe current server is mail.libero.it but you can't just use it to send mail via your email client when you are connected to the internet via an ISP other that libero infostrada. In that case you can always use the web mail interface to send out or reply to emails and that's free.
To use the smtp mail.libero.com you will have to:
1. Connect using libero ISP, which is only going to happen if you live in Italy
2. Buy the mail service (around 30 Euro a year) which will give you a 1GB mailbox and will allow you to send/reply to emails directly from your email client (once you configure the outgoing mail server).
I hope this helps. -

Best regards,
JohanHi Chandrababu,
Unfortunately I don't know any more than this. I have only done one SAP ME 15 installation so far
and this was the solution to our error situation.
If you don't get it working then you should log a support ticket to SAP.
Best regards,

Variant Configuration in SAP CRM
Hello all
My client is currently using SAP R/3 4.7 and heavily use VC for configurable products and also for pricing but in the process of moving to ECC
Now we wish to explore the possibility of using SAP CRM 7.0 to enable our sales force to use CRM Web GUI to create quotes and sales orders ( in the future) for configurable materials.
My questions are as following:-
1. Is it possible to download all VC related data into CRM from R/3 including pricing? I understand that for different VC object, I will have to use different CRM objects but is it possible? If the data transfer is possible, is it typically done by a middleware resource?
2. I would also like to confirm that by creating a run time version and Kbase is required to enable the download to CRM.
3. No changes are possible on the product that can be replicated back to ECC
4. Looking at the forums - I gather that "from CRM 2007 the PME is replaced with WEB UI in CRM. IF you want to do the modeling of a product then u need to use WEB UI and also for generating the KB" - does anyone have any information on this using the XCM ?
If you could please point me to the appropriate help on this topic, I would really appreciate it.
Best regards
RajHi Anne,
Hope you have done the following settings -
The product is marked as configurable in the product master data.
Product configuration is activated. You activate product configuration in Customizing under Customer Relationship Management Master Data Products Settings for Configurable Products Allow Configurable Products for a Product Type . For more information about activating product configuration, see SAP Note 854170.
You have created a product model (SAP CRM), or replicated a knowledge base with the configuration master data from SAP ERP to SAP CRM
These are mentioned in the below link -
Product Configuration with the Configuration Engine in SAP CRM - SAP Library
Hope this will be useful.
Thanks and Regards
