Mail continues to ask me for password for deleted Mail account

Hey guys, I've deleted an old mail account in both the Mail application itself, as well as the Accounts folder in my system preferences. Nonetheless, Mail continues to ask me to type in the password for this old gmail account.
It's gotten so annoying that I'm not able to use mail anymore and have to use Thunderbird, which is ok, but I love how everything syncs.
A funny thing.... This is the computer that syncs with my iPhone 4s, and yet I have no issues with the mail accounts on the iPhone.
I imagine it's some old bit of data somewhere in the back of my system, but I don't know much about how these things work.
I can provide images of how my Accounts in system preferences works and how that compares to the error message if you need it. Also I can tell you anything else you need to know.
This problem is so annoying...can you help?

What exactly are you doing when you are prompted for your password? Are you on your phone or your computer?

I suppose I could delete it, but the whole point of multiple accounts is so I can post to either. One is mine, one is my wife's. If it is not enabled why would I need to log into it to post to my own account. The system has no problem associating existing albums with my account, I is only failing to allow me to choose only my account to create an new one. It is clearly designed to handle multiple accounts, but seems to have a bug directing it to ask for the password for a disabled account instead of allowing selection of and posting to the enabled one.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

ITunes 12.1 update in App store continues to ask me for an upgrade, but it´s already installed

I have a macbook pro late 2013, I updated to Yosemite recently. App Store asked me for an iTunes update to iTunes 12.1, I did it as usual, waiting everything its ok, but after upgrade app store stills asking for the update, I can´t find another similar issue on forums, so I decided post my question in here with the hope that somebody have the same issue and of course to know a solution. If the problem cannot be resolved, please reopen a new case on Azure related forum. The azure sdk is not installed within Visual Studio Setup. It is standalone so you need to post on specific forum for help.

Asks me for a new account

Why does the restart after upgrading to 10.9 ask me to create a new account? I want to use my old account.

If you want to use the email address that you used on the first account then you will need to remove it from that first account before you can do so e.g. via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's or via http://appleid.apple.com - you can create a new email address via http://gmail.com or http://hotmail.com to replace it with.

Why is the phone asking me for my icloud info and its showing an email i dont recognize automatically? did i get a refurbished phone?

i got a new iphone 5s at the beginning of september and it has been malfunctioning. today i went to apple and the genius gave me a "new" phone but when it asked to login into icloud it automatically showed another users email address that i dont recognize. he said it was normal because other people are using the internet in the store- i dont understand what that has to do with it. so now im at home uploading my info and the icloud continues to ask me for that random email's password. so did i get a refurbished phone? Also, if this is a new phone, why dont i have the u2 playlist like the new iphone i had bought last month?

Well, you could always start all over again and see if you can get it to go away. Go to Settings>iCloud, and turn off Find My iPhone, then go to Settings>Reset>Reset all Content and Settings. That will erase the device.
Then set it up again from the Hello screen, and either restore it from a backup (if you have one), or hook it up to iTunes on the computer you sync with and download your data from there. If Wifi is your only option, then, of course, you can do it from there, but the backup or iTunes route would be quicker.

My ipad keeps asking me for my apple id all the time!

My ipad always has this message saying my apple id then type in the password all the time randomly and it always says it, even when I'm actually logged in to this account, and when I go on face time and iMessage and I try to log in, it always comes up with that type in the password message when I already have! It's quite complicated but I have looked and it said if my apps are waiting which they aren't so it can't be that! Please help me so I can face time and iMessage again!

HI, I did sign out in apple ID. Still no luck keeps asking me for the wrong account details. I cannot even download any apps. Despite me having an account that I cannot use. Because it keeps going back to my girlfriends details, which I no longer wnat to use on my phone.
Would apprectiate any advice.

Forgotten password for old email account(iTunes user id)

The iTunes account I have on my iPhone is an old account with a password no one can seem to remember, so I finally decided to create a new account on my computer. I can download things just fine with my new account on my computer. I synced my iPhone with my computer thinking it would recognize my new account, but it's still asking me for my old account's password, which I don't remember. I can't ask it to send me my forgotten password because I don't have that email account any more (which is my user id on my iPhone). Any suggestions?

BT asking for my BT account number when signing up...

I am signing up with BT as a new customer.
I have gone through all the processes to purchase my package, however I am at the final stage and I have reached an issue.
When I click checkout, it asks me for my BT account information, however I do not have any information since I am a new customer!
This also happened to me when I clicked the button that said "Add BT Sport to Sky" - or something along those lines - on the package I wanted, and the same issue had arisen.
Does anybody have any advice?

The same name and address would be enough to cause the problem i described above. BT will still have your details on the system.
I'm afraid this may involve a long phone call to get them to cancel your old account and set you up as a "new" customer.
Keep watching this thread for a couple of hours though, others may know better than me.

I changed my Apple ID (new email address, same account), via the Apple website on my laptop, but when I try log into ITunes on my iPad, it still has the old ID. It is greyed out, so I can't change it. On researching further, it seems I have to sign out of iTunes and sign back in using new address. Ok so far, but when I do this, it asks if I want to delete the account and any data on the cloud. If I do this, and sign in with changed ID, will all the data be there Or will it be lost? Sounds like apps purchased from those accounts got synced to the iPod and it is asking to log into that account to update them.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
What do yo see if yo go to the Updates Section of the App Store app?

Missing my Google mail account on my Mac

I have MobileMe as my main email account, which syncs between my Mac and iPhone. I also have a Google Mail account, which I decided to setup on my iPhone. The problem is, after syncing my devices by MobileMe AND physically connecting the devices via cable, the Google Mail account do NOT show on my Mac??!! I remember setting this up before and the Google Mail account automatically appeared on my Mac, I removed it after a while, but now have decided to set it up again, using the same process, but this time, it is not setting up automatically on my Mac? Also, I changed the name of my MobileMe account on my iPhone, but the change has not been passed to my Mac via either MobileMe OR sync. What is going on? I know these things are done automatically when you sync devices, because it has worked for me in the past with no problem. Can someone shed some light on my problems? Thanks for your help guys!

Sorry, but you didn't do this. Doing what you are wanting is not supported - never has been supported and is not possible.
The point for this option is most people are accessing their email account or accounts with an email client on their computer - people have been doing this long before the iPhone. The option for email accounts under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences is for transferring email account settings for a selected email account or accounts from a supported application or email client on your computer to the iPhone's Mail application if you don't want to manually create the account or accounts on your iPhone. This is not a sync process. This is a one way data transfer only for selected email account settings from the Mail.app on your Mac to the iPhone's Mail application.
If your Gmail account was set up with the Mail.app on your Mac, what was the point for deleting the account on your Mac? You could have disabled the account without deleting the account from the Mail.app.
If you want to access your Gmail account with the Mail.app on your Mac, you need to manually create the account with the Mail.app on your Mac. If this is pointless and a waste of time, don't do it. Your first post in this thread was done 25 minutes ago. To create an email account with the Mail.app shouldn't take you longer than a minute or two.
