Mail crashes instantly

Question

I'm running 1.1.3, everything worked until I upgraded to this version
I've got 2 imap accounts setup, now when I open mail it instantly crashes
I was able to reset the phone to factory new phone, and add one account back in and it worked without crashing, but I lost all my favorites, sms history, notes, etc etc
I have restored the backup 1 backup I had (btw does itunes for vista not backup unless you upgrade firmware?!?!?!) and I'm back to a crashing mail app
is there any way to fix this without loosing my notes, sms history, call history, and favorites?
If I delete one of the imap accounts, reboot the phone, go into mail, it crashes, and for some reason the imap account I deleted is back?!?!?!
I think 1.1.3 was not tested with imap!!!!

I'm having the same problem. I managed to add more accounts using iMail on OS X but even after deleting those additional accounts on iMail I still see all the accounts. Started with 8 accounts (1 from iMail) now I have 9 accounts (2 from iMail). None of them go away no matter how many times I delete them and restore the iPhone and restart the iPhone. I even searched out the latest backup files for the iPhone and deleted the files with Mail preferences. And that was after I deleted the accounts in iMail. So now I have one gmail account twice.
Writing this has motivated me to waste some more time. Resetting my iPhone and deleting ghost acounts that don't work.
Everything else works fine except Safari seems to like to revert to the last restored web pages that were open on reboot/restart rather than the ones that were open. Which is a major pain.
It really ***** when the only thing that isn't reset when you erase the settings is the ones you want to erase.
