  • Officejet Pro K5400 printing problems after update to Mavericks OSX 10.9

    Hi,
I have printing problems with my Officejet Pro K5400 after update to Mavericks OSX 10.9.
Now after printing 1 page the printer prints an extra page with '2345X' sentence on it. As this problem started right after updating, I suppose there is a problem with an update.

This patch did solve our problem with the K5400 feeding a "blank sheet".
    Thank you.

  • Mail crashes after updating iPod touch 2g

I just updated my iPod touch 2g. Now Mail crashes after starting it! It opens for just a few seconds and than closes itselves. But it shows me that i've got new messanges at the icon.
    Please Help me!!!
    Thanks

Try doing a restore - then setup as a new iPod. You will not have the same layout, but all your content will be the same. All I can think of is that something got corrupt and the only way to fix that is a restore - setup as new iPod.
    Hope this helps.

  • Mail crashed after update to 4.8

    hello,
after updating a 1GHz 17" flat panel iMac from 4.4 to 4.8, OSX Mail crashes immediately at startup. the log says: 'Library not found'. i have a feeling this might have to do with the fact that my system is the Dutch version? anybody any ideas? i tried deleting the plist for Mail, and it seems option-apple-p-r doesn't work!
    any help appreciated.

    Hello Robert.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, reinstall the Combo Update for the type of computer and the version of Mac OS X you're using:
About the Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update
Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update for PPC
Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update for Intel
Take a look at the following articles for guidelines on how to properly install system updates:
    Troubleshooting installation and software updates
    Installing software updates
Basically, you should verify/repair the startup disk before installing the update, no applications should be running while installing it, and you may experience unexpected results if you have third-party system software modifications (not normal applications) installed.

  • Mail crashes after Update to 10.10.3

    Hello all,
I am using a MacBook Pro 15" from Mid 2010 with a Prozessor 2,66 GHz.
I have just installed the Update 10.10.3
Now I am unable to start my Mail Programm. It starts up Mail and after a short view of Mail it crashes and shows me the ErrorMessage.
Has anyone a idea how to fix this.
    Thank you
    René

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if Safari crashed, you would enter "Safari" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.
When you post the log extract or the crash report, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "The message contains invalid characters." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the text on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

  • Mail crashes after update 10.10.1......:-(

    Anyone having the same issue?

After updating to 10.10.1 my email started crashing also. I spent my whole morning with the Apple support tech guy. I was instructed to remove my mail folder from the library and add again my account info. Everything was working fine then... BUT as soon as I added my other exchange and google accounts... it crashed again. So I made my google account inactive and it is working fine since then. I guess this is a problem that they will have to fix quick hey?!?

  • Mail crashing after update (itunes 9 and iphone  os 3.1)

I am experiencing Mail crashing on 3GS after the update. Is anyone else seeing this? Does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks

Had this problem yesterday while syncing my iphone to PC. iTunes asked if I wanted to upgrade to iTunes 9 and iphone 3.1. I agreed. The sync failed saying it couldn't identify my iphone and then asked me to restore my iphone.
I had to do a restore to get 3.1 loaded (first time I've had a problem with an update) but I did get it done .. then had to reload all my apps, audio, video with a 1+ hr sync.
But it did works .. and no problems of any kind (and my email works just fine)

  • Mail crashes after updating with 10.5.6

I am able to open mail and read any mail without an attachment, however as soon as I highlight an email with an attachment Mail crashes. I have downloaded and installed the new system twice, first with the abbreviated version and the second time the larger 700mb version and the problem remains.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks Rob

Hi, Thanks for the suggestion, but even after doing this the Mail app still crashes when I use "edit" and select several emails to delete. I was able to delete 30+ emails after the rebooting by swiping 3-4 individually and then quiting Mail. This would update the badge showing the number of emails reamaing that were unread. I then reopened Mail, deleted a few more and repeated the process until all 30+ emails had been deleted.

  • Constant crashes after updating to Mavericks

I have a MacBook Pro 15" mid 2010. I have updated to Mavericks but now my computer restarts in the middle of different tasks. I first thought that it might be possible that some specific software was causing the crashes, but when i read the dumps, the cause comes from different threads.
The BSD process name corresponding to current thread field are not always the same: sometimes i get dropbox, sometimes imovie, other times WindowServer etc.
    Here goes one dump:

I'd be really greatful if someone could at least point me to a direction.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure I have the same Mac (MacBook Pro 15" mid 2010) and my symptoms are the same. I updated to Mavericks and since then I've been crashing every 48hrs or so. I'm totally green when it comes to reading these reports. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • App Store and Mail crash after update to Mountain Lion

I installed Mountain Lion on an empty partition on my HD and then used Migration Assistant to bring over my user account.
I can boot into ML but the App Store and Mail crash when launched.
Has anyone else seen this, or better yet, have a solution?
    Thanks,
    Richard

I have noticed the same thing on my MAC.  Mail has become very "clunky"- Before Mountain Lion, whenever I clicked on a msg or a function (delete), it would respond immediately.  With Mountain Lion there is an unacceptable hesitation.  What is going on with this latest update?

  • Mail crashes after install of Maverick

I cannot get my mail program to open after install of Maverick.  I ran disk utility / disk permission repair.  Nothing.  Tried the open contacts workaround mentioned in the forum, nothing.  Any ideas?

If the solutions above did not work:
    Shut down Mail.
In Finder, go to "~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/" (just do CMD+Shift+G and paste the path).
Move all "Envelope" files to your desktop.
Restart Mail and let it convert/reindex your mailboxes.
If this worked, Trash the Envelope files file that are on your desktop.
You can try restoring mail from a Time Machine backup.
Hold down the Option key and in the Finder Go > Library
    Enter Time Machine.
Select a date before the Mavericks upgrade.
    Restore Mail.

  • Mail crash after update to 10.5.6  -- reinstall/update Letter Opener(OMiC)

That's for all users who use Letter Opener (aka OMiC)
    http://www.restoroot.com/OMiC/de/download.php
    That worked for me!
    Ulrich S. Kapp

    Hi there,
you recipe does not seem to work for my MBA. In fact, I have had OMiC installed for a while (using it only once or twice), then one day I got a message upon opening Mail, to the effect that the trial period had ended and that I had the option of entering a license, acquiring a license, or do nothing.
I chose "OK" (do nothing), because I have no practical use for the program, the last time I used it being a couple of years back.
A few minutes later, Mail crashed while it was retrieving new mails from my Yahoo account.
I have tried to de-install OMiC, the crash didn't stop until I removed manually (using the Safari interface) an email it was trying to retrieve from my Yahoo account.
But it crashes occasionally still. Tired of having to use Safari to remove emails, and above all, tired of NOT being able to read these emails in my Mail program (I have more than 10,000 emails stored there), I tried re-installing OMiC.
But it does not help either.
Now, this episode just made sure I'll never ever give a dime to OMiC developers. But those crappy developers aside, does anyone know a fix to the problem I am (still) having?
    many thanks beforehand,
    Hong

  • IPod Touch Mail crashes after update 3.1.3

    Hi,
It seems that since we updated our iPods Touch (different ones, 2nd Generation) to software 3.1.3, Mail app stopped working. It opens for a few seconds then it crashes. I have reset one of the iPods completely and synced it again, and still the same behavior. Something curious is that I open Mail, delete some messages, it crashes, and Mail shows the same number of new messages, as if I hadn't deleted any, and upon opening the app, yes, there they are. Rest of iPods seem to be working fine.
An older iPod (1st gen) that we have not updated works just fine.
    Any clue or fix?
    Thanks

My iPod does the same, Initially Apple blame the ISP, after much discussion it seems that there is a problem with 3.1.3 but they are reluctant to admit it. Firstly be denying all knowledge of problem then by blaming others. I think the problem is too big for them to admit and they can't fix it in the short term. Some are re-installing old software from net to get over problem, but Apple won't support old software. If any one has found a solution please let me know.

  • Mail crashes after Update to 10.5.7

Every time I try to print in word or Mail it crashes. And this began immediately after I restarted after the update.
    Help please???

    Hi, two suggestions:
    1. Use Disk Utility to repair permissions and then restart and try again.
    2. If that does not fix it, download from Apple Downloads the full 10.5.7 Combo Updater and install it (700+ MB). That seems to fixe a number of other issues reported in the forums here.
