Mail Crashing Outlook When Recipients Reply

I use 10.6.8.on a MacBook Pro. I have had a number of people tell me the Outlook crashes or freezes when respondiing to my emails. Can anyone help with with this?

Am using Mail 7.2 (1874) on a macbook pro os x 10.9.2 and am expereincing the same problem. At least 5 people using Microsoft Outlook have told me their outlook crashes and closes down when trying to respond to my e-mails. The only way they can reply is to open a new mail. Am going to see what the apple genius bar team think is going on.

  • Mail crashing outlook on recipients using PC

Recipients using outlook on PC have been telling me that my emails sent from my iMac using mail and my .mac account are crashing their system. I have forwarded the same email to mac users and have had no problems. Has any one else had this problem

I'm seeing similar problems, but without crashing them. I do daily emailings of comics and links to a few friends. One day they get everything just the same as I had set it up and the next the images are grouped at the bottom of the page, absent, or listed with unusable links. At other times some of the links to articles, which I'd copied from Safari are unusable.
    Any idea of what's happening?

So how do I get notified of updates in this forum? As I said: I don't understand the thing you call LIVE BOOKMARKS I have never used them, and most forums I have used notify VIA E-mail not giving out my E-mail address, or other private information when a reply has been made to the thread in question, so how do I get notified of updates in this forum? I have seen no normal options for setting my viewing preferences used for this forum. Thank You.

I also noticed that the 8 core Mac Pro is 3.0 when in fact they do have a 3.4 8 core chip, so 2 =16? • Mail Crashing only when opening Attachments

I have a friend on the white intel imac, 17" screen, all updated to 10.5.7. Her mail keeps crashing only when opening any email with attachments. I have delete the apple.com stuff and reloaded everything. So that is not the problem. Any other solutions ?

The upgrade to 10.5.7 results in a new version of Mail (version 3.6). It is possible that the upgrade process has resulted in a problem with Mail. To determine if the problem is machine wide or isolated to your current login, try creating another user account with the same permissions as that which you are currently using. Login to that account, open Mail, set up your email account, send yourself an email with an attachment and see when you open it without Mail crashing.
If it does crash then the problem is system wide and I recommend that you download the [Mac OS X 10.5.7 Combo Update|http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_7_ComboUpdate] and install that. It is a large file (730Mb).
If it does not crash then the issue is with the other user account rather than being system wide. A possible solution is to do the following:
    1. Open finder and Move the folder ~/Library/Mail to the desktop
    2. Launch Mail and re-create your email accounts.
    3. Import your old messages via the menu option "File" then "Import Mailboxes".
    4. Select "Mail for Mac OS X", click Continue.
    5. Select the Mail folder from the desktop and navigate to the folder Mailboxes within that folder then click Choose.
    6. You will be presented with a list of pre-selected items to import so click Continue and the import will proceed.
If that works and you can successfully open and view messages with attachments then you can delete the Mail folder that you moved to the desktop in step 1.

  • Mail gets deleted when I reply

Whenever I reply to a piece of mail with my .Mac account, I can't find the original piece of mail that I replied too.

    Hi David!
In the inbox when you reply it leaves that small "reply arrow" next to your message right? What happens when you click that arrow?

  • Business Contact Manager add-in crashes Outlook when EMET 5.0 is installed

We have Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013, and some of our users have Business Contact Manager (BCM).  Once we installed EMET 5.0 with the Recommended settings, the BCM add-in would crash Outlook.  EMET logs no messages to the Event Log.  The
only entry in the Event Log is Event 1023 from .Net Runtime stating:
.NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.5485 - CLR: Fatal Execution Engine Error (000007FEF798600A) (80131506)
I'm guessing no one else uses BCM and EMET as these forums and the rest of the Internet are devoid of any related posts.  We've tried toggling DEP, SEHOP, ASLR settings based on other posts about problems with other Outlook add-ins and EMET without
any change in behavior.  We have tried removing the OUTLOOK.EXE entry from the list of apps in EMET, but Outlook always loads with a green check mark in the "Running EMET" column.
Are there any settings for Outlook in EMET so that it will work with the BCM add-in?
Assuming #2 is too complicated, is there any way to keep EMET from running Outlook as an EMET-protected process?  As I mentioned above, I've removed it from the App list in EMET but EMET still insists OUTLOOK.EXE is "Running EMET".
Any help would be appreciated.  Otherwise, we're scrapping EMET.
    -Nate

If you remove the Outlook.exe entry from the list of apps and it still shows as protected the changes you have made are not active. I guess that the changes you make when you toggle a protection for the Outlook process are also not active for the same reason.
Did you check if your changes are activated by using the 'EMET_Conf.exe --list' command from an elevated command prompt?
Do you use a Group Policy to configure EMET? In EMET 4.1 you must use 'EMET_Conf.exe --refresh' if you made a change in the policy settings and after the policies are applied. In EMET 5.0 the service takes care of that but maybe there is a delay or the group
policy settings are overruling the settings from the GUI and therefore also the changes you make through the GUI.

  • Email received by Windows Outlook crashes outlook when they hit reply

I'm getting frustrated responses from the recipients of emails I send them from mac. mail. They say that when they hit reply their Outlook application crashes. If they copy and past the contents of my mail message into a new email and send that to me it works just fine. Is anybody else having issue or have a solution?

    Thanks Bob,
Calibri is the default font, and is on Windows 7, not as default on XP, so i will invistigate that further. Thanks for that sometimes you miss the obvious!
Microsoft update - they claim its an issue they are aware of. Their workaround - clean uninstall / reinstall Office and have users use Word to compose emails.. nice! An email client that you cannot compose emails in.
    Any more suggestions hugely appreciated.

  • Mail crashes every time I reply to an email on 10.4.10

Since uploading to 10.4.10 I have found that when I try to reply to an email it seems to not respond and that irritating beach ball just keeps on spinning. I have repaired my permissions numerous times and there are no problems there. Any one have any fixes or ideas on how to fix this problem?
    Many thanks for any input.
    Ratman.

So Mail freezes (i.e. becomes unresponsive) rather than crashing (i.e. quitting unexpectedly), right?
Problems arising right after installing a system update are usually the result of the problem already being there, or some filesystem corruption that should have been fixed first, or not having installed the update properly (e.g. applications running while installing it), or having ignored Apple’s “Important: Please read before installing” warnings, etc.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
Have you also installed Safari 3 Beta ? If so, that could have a bearing on this, although this particular problem is supposed to have been fixed in the latest release...
What type of mail account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)? If IMAP or .Mac, what are your Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors > Drafts settings?
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Leave checked (enabled) only the port configuration needed to connect to Internet and Built-in Ethernet (in that order if not the same), uncheck (disable) the rest of network port configurations and see whether that helps — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.

  • Send an e-mail to Outlook when a PO is released

    Hello colleagues,
We need to send an e-mail to some responsible outlook address when a PO is full released, just for information. We don´t want to use workflow for approval. Please, could you tell me how can i customize it?
    thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    JR.

This is not possible with standard configuration. You have to create Z report with help of abaper which will trigger mail to the responsible peoples.
    Logic would be
1.Create Z table which will stores Plant and responsible user name and thier e-mail id
2.Create Z-program which will take input as creation date and PO number also Plant and others as per your requirement
3.Goto table CDHDR and input is doc oobject - EINKBELEG ,T-code : ME29N and ME28 ,Date : today date
get the document number, object value and pass CDPOS table get all the values and store it in internal tabel. Loop internal table if the FNAME = FRGKE and VALUE_NEW = R then get the OBJECTID which is nothing but PO number . Passing this no in EKPO table get the plant no . For this plant whatever e-mail ids are there ,send mail saying that these Po are released .
To send e-mail you have to use standard function module ISA_AUC_EMAIL_NOTIFY or HR_FBN_GENERATE_SEND_EMAIL or check with abaper

  • Mail crashing sometimes when I click a link

Running 10.5.8 and sometimes when I click a web link it mail it will crash. Just spins the beach ball for 10 sec or so then crashes.
I am using mail to access 2 gmail accounts and not doing anything differently than before. I recently did a clean install and the only thing I have changed is that I no longer use Onyx. I can't see how that has anything to do with it. I have never had this issue before though in over 2 years of using Leo.

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

  • Mail crashes unexpectedly when writing new email

I have a 16gb 3g latest os and uptodate iTunes etc.
I have three accounts on my phone all imap vie three separate providers.
At an annoying regularity, whilst I am typing (tapping?) an email, Mail will just close/crash and my words will be gone forever. It seems only to occure after a few paragraphs of typing. Very short emails don't seem to be affected. I'm pretty certain it's nothing to do with the bounced email issue I have found discussed around here. I have bounced emails I am aware of on my phone.
I get around this issue by constantly saving my typing as a draft and then re-opening the email to continue. But that's when I remember to do it!
The issue seems to occure no matter what account I am writting from. It does not seem to be related to a precise length of writing. Sometimes I note the response of the keyboard slows down before the crash. I will often see the big letter showing where I tapped just stuck in place before Mail shuts down.
I do wonder if the seemingly random nature is connected to my phone doing some sort of background thing like a network activity of somesort for eg. I'm always on home wifi for my longer emailing.
I've tried switching all accounts to manual checking (as opposed to push/fetch). No change.
Anyone else get these random wipe outs? Suggestions?
There is nothing worse than loosing ten minutes of fiddly iPhone email writing!

    Tried anything...
As I said in my original post I have tried fiddling with my account settings such as push, fetch and manual. Its not something one likes to experiment with as it usually results in lost email "work"!
I've reset my phone numerous times.
This issue has been dogging me for a long time now (months)
On the whole my phone is working fine. I get the occasional web browser glitch, but nothing I would consider "wrong".
I appreciate that a restore to back-up or "as new" is a common cure-all for iphone ills. I just thought I'd post to see if anyone has had similar experience to me with Mail and what worked for them. Perhaps they worked out exactly what triggers these seemingly random crashes for eg, so that they can be avoided.
Or perhaps its just me with this issue - if so, I suspect a full phone reset/restore may be in order.

  • How do you change the default email client (Mail) to Outlook when sharing?

In iPhoto I used Outlook as the default email to forward photos to friends.  How do you change it from Mail in Photos to Outlook?

I am having the same problem.
Just updated to OS X 10.10.3.
The new Photos app will not link to Microsoft Outlook.
Never had this problem with previous versions of iPhoto.
I have a thread going on this topic:
The new "Photos" will not link to Outlook email.

  • Could not send mail using outlook when tethered (m...

I have had a problem for a long time where I could not send email from my laptop when connected to the internet via a hotspot on my 3 mobile phone.
After a long conversation with three where we determined that if I used three's SMTP server settings I could send email no problem, but once I was back on wifi i had to change my settings back to the BT settings (mail.btinternet.com), I decided to try and tackle BT support to get a resolution to the issue.
I knew this would be challenge and that I would end up speaking to someone who could speak english but actually didn't really understand it, and Bt didn't disappoint!!
I had a long online chat where it was explained to me that if I was connected via my 3g/4g connection I would have to use my providers SMTP because that is just the way it is. O.k. what did I expect!!
Anyway I am just posting here so if anyone has the same problem I may be able to help you as I have now managed to get this up and running. How?? I hear you ask.
In my case I used the mail checker on BT to see who's mail service I was with and it varified I was still with BT yahoo rather than BT Mail.
I decided to try the yahoo setting for the SMTP server rather than the stock mail.btinternet.com and I am now up and running.
My SMTP Setting is now -  smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk (port 465 with SSL)
Hope this helps someone else as I just could not find an answer by googling the issue.

There is absolutely no reason why it shouldn't work using mail.btinternet.com port 465 with SSL. Works fine for me, albeit on O2 rather than Three, but the principle is the same.

  • I upgraded to 10.5.6, now mail crashes randomly when opening emails

After the 10.5.6 upgrade, every time I opened Mail it would quit. I then deleted com.apple.mail plist as suggested on Mac FixIt. Now it opens, doesn't immediately quit but when opening emails, the application will randomly quit. Please help.
    Thanks
    Barbara

    Hi Barbara,
Do you have any plug-ins running? I had the same problem as you and had an old version of OMIC or Letter Opener as plug-in. I upgraded the plug-in, and since then everything is fine.
    good luck,
