Mail.Dat Test Scenario

What are the following files they are requesting in Mail.Dat TEM?
(1) Reconcialiation Report including Container information
(2) Qualification Report
(3) Version Summary Report
I am having problems figuring out what are these files?

Hi Nash
What it means that the mail.dat you submit to PostalOne! should contain the information necessary to generate these documents.
For Example as mentioned in the TEM checklist if you submit an u2018original ready to payu2019 Mail.dat file (CSM Container status is u2018Ru2018 for original ready-to-pay) , you should be able to see the documents you mentioned on the dashboard.

  • Should cancelled mailbox moves result in any moved mail data removed from target server?

I was moving mailboxes from 1 DB to another. 3 out of 120 were left running for 12 hours; they were the biggest ones and it was very slow to process the items. There were also reports of slowness on the server so I had no choice but to cancel the moves.
My question is should cancelled mailbox moves result in any moved mail data being removed from the target database? It doesn't appear that my disk as increased in space again so I'm wondering if it's there as whitespace maybe? There is an event logged to say
the mailbox has been deleted from the target.
Would appreciate if someone can clear this up and possibly explain exactly what occurs during this type of scenario.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Thank you for your kindly remind.
In Exchange 2000, 2003 and 2007 mailboxes become unavailable during movement, when a mailbox move takes place, the mailbox isn't actually moved, it's just copied to the destination location. Once that copy has finished, AD is updated to point to the new location
and the old mailbox is deleted from the source EDB file.
The most different between Exchange 2010 and legacy version in move mailbox is that allows end-users to be online in their email accounts. On completing the move users just needs to reopen their Outlook clients.
Mailbox Move Requests are a new feature set of Exchange 2010 and requires running a series of Cmdlets to perform asynchronous online mailbox moves with the help of a service agent called Mailbox Replication Service (MRS). MRS is available on all Exchange 2010
    Client Access Servers.

  • XI doubt and test scenario

    Hi,
I need some advice on the following:
We are having XI 3.0, ECC 5.0 and also have GIS Server (Gentran). We need to use these servers to convert the data from XML to IDOC (inbound to sap) as well as to XML from IDOC (outbound). We came to know GIS will take care of converting the outside data to XML and send it across to XI as IDOC as well as take the IDOC from XI and convert it as XML before sending data outside. The question is what are the configuration to be done in ECC, XI and GIS to make the things happen. Do we need to use any adapter or XI itself has got any inbuilt adapter ? is there any blog or any link to any document which tells about configuration and any test scenario to try the above mentioned scenario ?
At present not much data's in ECC system, in this case is there any test scenario provided by SAP in XI or ECC to test some initial scenario like sending data from ECC to XI as an IDOC for file integration...
Let me know if any more information required from my side.
    Thanks

  • Lab test scenario

    Hi guys,
we want to set up a test scenario in our lab to get familiar with PI 7.0. We want to send messages between 2 SAP systems separated by two PI servers to simulate a wan connection with firewalls etc. I'm sure somebody has done this before, but i'm not able to find any infos about this topic. Can you guys help out? Thanks a lot!
    Regards,
    Michael

    Michael,
Yes lots of questions...so had to paste ur q`s here...
yes if properly configured PI server is secure enough.
    1) what firewalls are you using..i used a combo of linux with ipchains and Aix with secureway firewall to do the dmz..yes i had to publish the servers in the secureway firewall. The linux one we used one box on each end as a protocol/port firewall.
This is what i did as the documentation for this is quite limited...lots of general links..no specifics..!!!
The set up i had done ..was a combination of Sap R/3 talking through XI to IBM WebSphere, users could input data into webSphere after passing through ldap, WebSPhere Security and Tivoli WebSeal, the certificate..key was generated using Tivoli PKI..and this then we had in one scenario for each adapter..and had a set of tests where at diffrent times different machines would be in the dmz...finally we settled with the webSphere server being in the extranet and the rest in the intranet...why do you need to setup 2 PI servers to talk to each other using idoc`s..its preferable to go with soap for that. We did  tunnel the http traffic into the Lan(P.S: Check the ports for http..its not 8080 or 8000 as expected ..;).
Hope this helps..let me know if you need more info....
    Regards
    Ravi Raman
I'm looking for information how to set up the two PI servers that they communicate via HTTP/S and internally via IDOCs. Especially the part when we have to publish the PI servers in the DMZ is interesting. How is this done generally? Do I have to set up the servers in the DMZ or is it ok when the servers are behind the Firewall and I would just tunnel the HTTP traffic into the LAN. Have you any experience with the security topics when we are not in the DMZ? IS a PI server secure enough to be out there? You see, a lot of questions...
    Regards,

  • Mail.dat & pallet records in CSM file

We are testing and familiarizing ourselves with the Mail.Dat filess created out of Presort 7.90.
I have noticed that the .csm file has a "container type" field.  I am expecting to see a value of "P" for pallet, in at least one record in this file but have not seen any.
One of my test files contains 497 tray "T" or "O" container types in the .CSM file, but no "P" pallet records.  Shouldn't ther always be at least one pallet record created?
Is there a special value that must be set in order for Presort to produce the pallet record in the CSM file?
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!  Thank You in advance!

    Paul,
Palletization for Presort is an add-on option.  If you haven't purchased this add-on you will not be able to run a job with a pallet scheme.
If you have the palletization add-on check to make sure you have a pallet scheme setup in your Presort job.  For example, if you are doing a STD Letter mailing you may have the following schemes:
STD Letter Trays on Pallets  (palletized mail)
STD Enhanced Carrier Route Letters  (non palletized mail)
STD Automation Letters  (non palletized mail)
1C/STD Regular Letters  (non palletized mail)
If you have the above schemes it is possible you may have pallets however it is not guaranteed.  Depending on how your pallet minimums, entry points, etc are setup you may not be meeting the minimums to build a pallet.
I would suggest generating several reports when running the job such as the Mail Sort Listing, Job Summary, and Qualification report which will indicate how the mail was sorted.  The Mail Sort Listing and Job Summary will show what scheme / entry point / segment were sorted to.  If you aren't seeing the pallet scheme or pallet numbers/destinations in any of the reports you won't see any pallets created in the mail.dat.
    Thanks,
    Kendra

  • Testing Scenario

    Hi all,
My client is upgrading the HR Support Package.I would like to know what are all the scenarios i need to Check . i am new to this field .
Is there any standard scenario i need to check for.
    Regards
    anagha

    Hi,
After successful upgradation of SAP HR from old version to new version you have to check infotypes for a PERNR whether they are all migrated to new version correctly or not.And you have to run the time evaluation and run the payroll and check the approriate values are updated correctly or not.
And the data migration is one more important one from old one to new one where you will be testing scenarios in new one to check the outputs of concerned executions.
This is the knowledge i have in this and will keep update if i get any information about this.

  • Follow up question about interpreting smart data test on 160GB classic

I posted this question regarding the problem I am having with my 160GB ipod classic:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2153948&tstart=0
It appears noone is able to help me, so I have found some more information:
In short, itunes will not write to my 160GB ipod once it reaches about 35GB / 160. Windows will write to it, but only at 500KB/sec rather than the usual 19+Mb/sec. It just crawls once it hits that point. After following some advice online I came up with the following results using the HD tests in diagnostic mode.
    smart data test:
    retracts: 138
    rallocs: 563
    pending sector: 55
    poweron hours: 1016
    starts/stops: 267
    temp: current 26C
    temp: min 19C
    temp: max 53C
and for the HDD spec test:
sno: (not sure if i should post a serial number?)
    FW Revision: NB100-05
    LBAs: 0x12a19eb0
These are the only tests that show up under the I/O HardDrive section. Should there be more? It seems like there might be from what I read, but I am not sure.
Anyway, any help interpreting these results would be greatly appreciated.

    adame wrote:
    rallocs: 563

    etc.
Your drive is probably toast. Compare your SmartData stats with mine:
    Retracts: 844
    *Reallocs: 12*
    *Pending Sectors: 0*
    PowerOn Hours: 2037
    Starts/Stops: 830
    Temp: Current 29c
    Temp: Min 10c
    Temp: Max 50C
I've only 12 remapped sectors and none pending. From the Wikipedia S.M.A.R.T. article:
    *Reallocated Sectors Count*
Count of reallocated sectors. When the hard drive finds a read/write/verification error, it marks this sector as "reallocated" and transfers data to a special reserved area (spare area). This process is also known as remapping, and "reallocated" sectors are called remaps. This is why, on modern hard disks, "bad blocks" cannot be found while testing the surface – all bad blocks are hidden in reallocated sectors. However, as the number of reallocated sectors increases, the read/write speed tends to decrease. The raw value normally represents a count of the number of bad sectors that have been found and remapped. Thus, the higher the attribute value, the more sectors the drive has had to reallocate.
    *Pending sector count*
Number of "unstable" sectors (waiting to be remapped, because of read errors). If an unstable sector is subsequently written or read successfully, this value is decreased and the sector is not remapped. Read errors on a sector will not remap the sector (since it might be readable later); instead, the drive firmware remembers that the sector needs to be remapped, and remaps it the next time it's written.
I'm sure you'll find the counts go up if you try to do a surface scanning disk check. Sorry it's not better news but at least you know where the problem lies. Assuming your iPod is out of warranty it's probably time to get your iPod refurbished with a new drive or to buy a new iPod.

I have saved the Mail data from the Lion one and will reformat its HDD for a clean install of Mountain Lion.  Then I plan to import a (CCC) clone of my newer iMac.  I need to merge the mail because some mail items are missing on the clone that existed on the erased iMac.

  • Use of ODI in Data Import scenario

    Hi,
We are contemplating to use ODI for a Data Import scenario. The flow goes something like this:
1.A user specified flat file or xml with a mapping between the file columns and base table columns serves as the input.
(Note that the file column names could be anything and that is why we use mapping).
    2. This file data is stored in a stager table and certain validations are run on this data.
    3. This data is then imported into the base tables.
I assume we cannot use ODI for step 1 as the file columns are not fixed and can vary. We need to programmatically interpret the data from the mappings. (Is there a way to do this in ODI?).
If we use ODI for step 3 to import data from stager to base tables:
    - If we have a million records to be imported, then how performant is ODI? Do we need to invoke ODI in batches of (a few thousands) to improve performance?
    - Thanks in Advance,
    Raghu

    Hi Jont,
    Thanks for your reply..
Here is an example of the mapping that we use:
    Flat File columns:
    AccName
    AccLoc
Mapping (Specified by the user at run time):
    AccName -->(Maps to) Account.Name
    AccLoc --> (Maps to) Account.Location
The user would map the file columns to the final target entity fields (like Account.Name) as above.
Since, we have to store this data in a intermediate staging table, we would have a mapping internally (which is fixed), like
    Account.Name -->(maps to) AccStager.Name
    Account.Location -->(Maps to) AccStager.Location
where AccStager.Name is the staging table field name.
Thus, by using these two sets of mapping, we store the file data into staging table.
    Hope this is clear...
    Thanks,
    Raghuveer
