Mail deleted in server still showing up in iPad inbox

Hi, I've noticed that when I delete emails from my hotmail account on the web, the items deleted are still showing up in my iPad inbox marked as unread. But when I click on it, it says "message cannot displayed." When I go back to the iPad inbox, then the item disappeared. So now I have to click on each email item to get it to disappear on my iPad inbox. My settings are set to automatically push for updates so I'm not sure why this is happening.
Conversely, any email I delete on the iPad are deleted on the server when I check them on the web.
Anyone have a solution to this annoying dilemma? I would greatly appreciate it.

User search in CUPS is done against LDAP. So if you delete a user from CUCM, it doesn't matter - if the user still exists in LDAP, it will show up.

Deleted recurring events still show up on iPad/iPhone/Macbook Calendars

Trying to view several calendars for the purpose of project management. Here is the problem step by step:
1) If I am UserA and have my calendar set up as Exchange or CalDav with FULL rights, I can add, delete or edit all events as needed. I can add recurring events and DELETE one or more occurrences of the recurring event and have THAT show up correctly on my iPad.
2) If UserB sets up his calendar and gives me read access, I can SUBSCRIBE to his calendar using normal "other / caldav" subscription settings and view it properly. No problem.
3) If UserB sets up a recurring event (lunch meeting at noon every Monday), that shows up properly on my iPad. No problem.
4) If UserB is going to be out of town or decides to cancel his lunch meeting for some other reason, he can on his own machine (Outlook, Mac Calendar, iPad with Exchange full account) delete that event. No problem for HIM.
5) On MY iPad, the subscribe calendar never shows anything different. The same recurring events continue to display even if UserB has delete one OCCURRENCE of the event. This IS a problem. My view of his calendar is now incorrect. Yeah, yeah, one meeting one day is not a problem. But multiply that by several users, multiple deletions of recurring events, and suddenly the whole shooting match is out of whack.
6) I can refresh the calendar to my heart's content, but nothing changes.
7) Here's the kicker: I can DELETE the subscribed calendar and RESUBSCRIBE to it. This forces a completely fresh download to my iPad. Doesn't change a thing. The same recurring events still override ANY deletions that the user made to individual instances of the events.
In looking at the raw ICS file which I can download via a web browser, an entry might look like this:

You can easily see that the EXDATE shows a deletion for 2013-02-25 as well as other dates. Doesn't matter. They STILL show up on the iPad and in the Mac OSX Calendar.
I consider this a bug. I hope an Apple employee sees and responds to this. I would welcome any thoughts, workarounds or suggestions that could help with this.
Yes, I can tell users to only put INDIVIDUAL events on their calendar. But, let's face it. It's easier to put a recurring event and delete one or two instead of putting 50 recurring events for the whole year.
And, of course, Outlook displays things properly as do similar CalDav clients.

Exact same issue here. Individual events deleted from a recurring appointment continue to show up in Calendar (OS X 10.8.2). Same events do not show up on calendar if viewed via outlook from my desk PC or view outlook web app from anywhere.
Clearly a bug.

As long as you both share an iTunes account you cannot delete the album. It is in your account and will show as available to download. The cloud symbol simply is showing that the album is in your iTunes account and is available for you to download. The album itself isn't on your phone though.

Deleted Mail "On My Mac" still showing up

I use Tiger, with Mail 2.0.5 (746/746.2).
I have spam auto-filtered into a "Spam" mailbox/folder on my Mac so that it doesn't go to the trouble of synchronizing with my IMAP server. (I started using SpamSieve for this because I get so much spam.)
I have a little cron job that periodically deletes messages from this folder.
The problem is, the messages still show up in Mail, when I click on the Spam folder. When I click on one of the deleted messages, it says the message "has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
But the message isn't on a server - it's on my Mac - and it no longer exists.
Any way to clue Mail in to the fact that these messages have been deleted?
I do this with Mail on an IMAP server and it works great.

You're welcome.
Since the mailbox is new and less than a week old, this may be caused by using a script outside of Mail to delete messages from this mailbox since I haven't experienced the same with any of my mailboxes under Tiger Mail.
It is a good idea to use the Rebuild Mailbox function on the most active mailboxes on a regular basis but I do so on a monthly or every couple of weeks basis depending on activity.

E-Mail Issues: Retrieved E-Mails deleting off server but only on one of two accounts

I am the proud owner of a Z10 as of 4 days ago. So far, it's a great device, but I've got one problem. I want the e-mail messages retrieved on my phone to stay on the server, and this is working, but only for one account.
I setup my two e-mail accounts, Comcast and GMail, both as POP accounts. I did not setup GMail as IMAP. I tested the connections to see that the messages were properly retrieved on the phone, then I logged into each account to see that the messages were staying on the server. It appeared as though they were, but apparently I didn't wait long enough on the GMail account because the messages were being deleted from the server and I didn't notice this for 3 days. Again, my phone is NOT doing this for my Comcast account and I don't know why.
I have about 10 e-mails now on my phone in my GMail account that I can't seem to get back on the GMail server. I need to do this so I can download the messages to my home server where all my mail is stored.
I thought maybe I could create a second IMAP GMail account in the hub and copy the messages from one account to the other, but I can't.
If I continue to let the phone get those messages, they'll continue to be removed from the server.
If I forward them to myself, then they just show up as having come from me and that's not what I need either.
If I delete the account entirely, I lose my messages and that's definitely not what I want.
I thought I could tell the phone to stop logging into the GMail account by updating the password on the device, but it has to authenticate to the server to confirm that the password is correct, and if it isn't, it won't take the password and returns an error.
So far, the only thing I've been able to do to get the phone to stop retrieving the messages is to change my GMail password and not update it on the phone. That way, the phone can't sign in to GMail at all and get any new mail. However, I still have these 10 messages on my device that I need to export somehow.
Is there a way to export mail on this device? Is there a way to copy messages from account to account? What directory is the mail stored in and what file format is it stored in? Can I convert the messages to .csv and do it that way? And why did this happen only for my GMail POP account and not Comcast?

This is a wi-fi network connection problem - not a problem with an email account.
Do you have cellular reception at home? If so, you should be able to receive email with both email accounts as long as you have an internet connection with the cellular network.
On your iPhone go to Settings > General > Reset and select Reset Network Settings.
This will delete all wi-fi network settings from your iPhone for every wi-fi network you have successfully connected your iPhone with.
After doing so check if your wi-fi network is available again to re-join.

Songs Deleted in Match Still Show Up on My iPhone 5

OOOkay: Earlier today, I deleted a couple of tunes from iTunes (and checked the "delete from iCloud" box as well). What I did not realize was at that moment I was not connected to the internet. The songs went away in iTunes, but they still show up on my iPhone 5 and my iPad 3, even after I reconnected to the 'net and ran iTunes Match again ... and I cannot find a way to get rid of them. Interesting. I believe the best solution to see what is going on is to create a new, empty iTunes library by holding down the Shift key while launching iTunes. Do not have iTunes scan for media. Then enable iTunes Match, let it do it's thing, then see if the tracks you've deleted show up. If they do, then you should be able to delete them from this library, then switch back to the main library.
If they do not show up, switch back to the main library, re-add the tracks you deleted by restoring them from the backup and let iTunes Match process them. Once it does so you should be able to delete them again and have them gone from the cloud.

Deleted icc profiles still showing up in profile list when printing.

I've deleted some old printer profiles, but they still show up in my profile list. Any suggestions? Also, is it possible to rename profiles so that they show up with the new names?

You have to change the internals of a profile to change it's name -- we don't show filenames.
And if the profile is still showing up, then ColorSync still thinks that file is installed somewhere. For printers, it may be installed in the printer driver directory, not just in the user visible profile directories.

Verizon mail deleted from server is not deleted from IPAD2 but works fine on Android

I have both an Android phone and an IPAD. This Android (RAZR) and my previous one (Droid2) worked fine. Mail deleted from the server is also deleted from the phone. Deleted from phone would delete from server. Worked great. On IPAD, when setting up the Verizon mail account, it defaults to POP and I can set it to delete from server when removed from IPAD. However, mail deleted from the server is not deleted from the IPAD and so I have to remove it manually (a second time). Why does it work on Android and not on IPAD? Settings on Android appear to also be for POP. Can anyone help with this? It's too hard to believe that with so many people using IPADs, that this is such a problem. I've read that Verizon isn't supporting IMAP, but how in the world is the Android phone working?

Any mail service POP downloads a copy of the message to the phone. It would then need to be deleted from the device itself. What you are referring to where its deleted in both places is an IMAP type email service.

HT4993 Deleted Contacts are still showing when compossing a TXT.

I have deleted several contact or updated there phone numbers. The deleted and old phone numbers are still showing when I send a text message. I have cleared all information from my synced accounts. I do not understand why this is so complicated. I have read online that this is an issue and do not understand why Apple does not fix this. I cant wait do dump this phone and go back to Google.

I have exactly the same issue - ex girlfriends, old bosses, previous numbers long update all still show up. As far as i can tell from all the other forums kicking around the only way to do it is to reset to fatory settings and set your phone up again as a new iPhone and there is NO WAY i'm doing that.
I can't believe they haven't fixed it yet...maybe the new OS will sort it

Deleted Recurring Events still show on iPhone

I've had this issue for a while now, and hoped the 2.0 release would fix it. Seems to not have.
The issue is that if I delete a single instance of a re-occurring event in iCal, it still syncs to the iPhone. So a weekly meeting that gets cancelled still shows up, or when I delete all reoccuring items while on holiday, they still show up on the iPhone. If I delete them manually via the iPhone they stay off and don't sync back on.
I've done restores, erased all the .Mac and MobileMe sync data (several times), and it still happens. This makes me believe it's a bug and not a corrupted calendar file or something.
This is part of a more complicated set-up too for a married couple who run a medical business. I have two Mac laptops and two Mac desktops all synced to the same MobileMe account (for calendars and contacts). The two laptops also each have an iphone connected to them. The idea is they all share the same calendars and contact information (which is very complicated as they live part time in Canada, part time in US).
It's becoming a real nuisance. I can solve it by having them not use re-occurring events, but that's not a real fix as these type of events are necessary.
I've searched the web and these forums and can't find nothing related. I Can't imagine I'm on my own on this one. Thanks for the help.

Double tap the home button to bring up the multitasking dock. Tap and hold an app. A red badge with a minus symbol will appear on the icons. Tap the minus symbol of Mail app to quit.

Downloaded a TV show on my Mac - but it is still showing on my iPad as a paid download

This happened once before...
Usually if I download a TV show in iTunes on my Mac I can later go to my iPad and, using the same iTunes account, download the show for free. Instead of $1.99 the button just says "download."
But for a show I downloaded a few hours ago it is showing $1.99 on my iPad.
Last time I tried to contact Apple support about this and they never replied.
A few days later though I noticed I could download the show on my iPad for free.
Is there some time delay between purchase of a TV show and when you can download it for free to your iPad?

Help needed - E-mail Deleted from server

Hello Everyone !
I just got my Z30 a week ago , and hope i get help with this
My problem is that i realized that some e-mails of my gmail account are not on web server but are on my phone , yet iam sure i didn't Delete any mails from my Z30 !
I really need that my BB wouldnt download e-mails and delete them from server , i need them to be on gmail whenever i need to see them or from another phone or client .
Can anyone help with that please ?

It all depends on a great many things:
How exactly is the GMail account integrated to the device? IMAP? POP? EAS?
How exactly do you have your device configured for deleted item reconciliation? Delete from device only? Delete on both device and server?
Is there any other client email software running (e.g., Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.) and interfacing with this GMail account? If so, are they perhaps the culprit with this deletion activity?
Is this the case all the time? Just with some items? It would be quite unusual to have this behavior with only some items...typically, it's "all or nothing".
Is this deletion from the server happening as the items are synchronizing to your device? Or, is it happening after some other interaction by you with the items?

There is no setting that would act this way...if you delete it from your device, then it may or may not delete from the server -- it depends on the settings you have configured on your device. So the wording there is a little bit confusing...

The only time that might happen is with POP...which, IMHO, is a "dead" technology...IMAP and EAS are so much better, and should always be used if available (and, for GMail, IMAP definitely is available, and EAS might be available depending on a number of other circumstances).
