Mail Deleted on Mac Mail, Or on iTouch doesn't delete on the other device.

Hi,
My mail is delivered to my ipod touch, as well as mac mail, through both IMAP and POP3 email accounts, however, when a message is deleted on one, the changes are not reflected on the other.
Any ideas?

I'm assuming the MobileMe and GMail accounts are the IMAP accounts, correct? These should be reflecting any changes that happen between the server and your devices.
With the POP3 accounts, you're only telling the iPod Touch and Mail.app to make a copy of the message and store it on your device. (unless you've selected to NOT leave a copy of the message on the server.) Any changes made will NOT carry over to the other device or the server. (i.e. If you delete the messages from the Touch, a copy will stay on the server and in Mail.app and vice versa.)

Thank you for your interest. I use apple mail to access my two accounts -I guess they are 3rd party accounts. One is a gmail acount and the other is a bigpond account. I admit to a lack of a high level of literacy when it comes to the language around all of this. For example, I am aware that I have an iCloud email account as I managed to set it up, but don't really understand the purpose of it as the last thing I need is yet another email account to oversee.

If you back up your mac before deleting your emails, Time Machine should back up your e-mails.
I never tried this so i'm not sure to find them in Time Machine. To browse in your backups simply click the Time Machine icon in your dock. In the right bar, you can select an backup. Than you can browse in finder, in your backkup.

Firefox has stopped forwarding my mail to my Mac Mail.

I had to change my Firefox password lately, so that it does not match my Mac Mail password. Then Firefox stopped forwarding my mail to my Mac Mail box.

Also make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

I am using Mail 5.3 with two separate gmail addresses. One is personal the other is business. When I send emails from the business address, any auto-replies I get COME TO THE PERSONAL INBOX. I imagine that this is a setting? Please help!

Edit the SMTP server list. Add a new one for the business account. Put the correct password and information for it. Give it a description so you will know which server is which. Mke sure the correct server is highlighted in the account selected and check the box to use only that server for that account. Do that for the other account also.

After an erroneous contacts delete on the mac, they've been removed from icloud and all the synced devices. I was able to restore the contacts from a backup, but since the iCloud version is newer than the backuped one, they are deleted every iCloud sync

Now I have an iPhone with the contacts and iCloud deactivated, but I lost all the contacts on the Mac and the iPad.
There is a way to tell iCloud "restart using the contacts I have on this device"?

An iCloud backup will save the state of your Camera Roll at the time of the backup but, if you delete photos from the Camera Roll, they will not be in the next backup taken.

I use Comcast for email and my email downloads both on my iPad and on my macro which I want, but if I read and delete on either device it is not deleted on the other device. Anything I can do soma delete on one device deletes it on the other device?

If I delete an email on my iPad it is not deleted on my macro. I wonder if anyone knows how to delete on one device and have the deletion concurrently work on the other device I use Comcast e mail.

Had problems sending emails from my iphone and ipad through Comcast. Apple could not solve the problem, contacted Comcast and they stated that they had issues with the Apple iphone and ipad and told me to download the "Xfinity connect ap" did so and everything works better than before. When I used the Apple email had to trash what I did not want on Apple and then when I went to Comcast the email were still there. Using the xfinity ap, when I delete on the iphone or the ipad the emails are deleted at all places. Before I had to delete on my iphone and then my ipad and then when i went to my computer they were still there and I had to delete there also, which was a real pain. Still can send and rec email from my icloud account, but comcast email are handled through xfinity connect

Thanks, but I've been on the phone with AppleCare US (where I am and live) and AppleCare UK. They continue bouncing me back and forth without helping resolve the problem.

How do I sync iMessages so that when I delete it on one device, it will delete it from the other devices?

I have 3 devices all using the same iCloud account: iPhone 5, iPad 3, and MacBook Pro with Mt. Lion. I want to be able to delete an iMessage on one device and have it automatically deleted from the other devices automatically instead of having to delete the message on all 3 devices. You got the gist of it - imessage and email accounts have different supporting "underline". Even some of the mail accounts (POP) do not have that capability. Neither does imessage. What I did is made sure that I receive my imessages to one device only. I do not know if it will work for you. Good luck.

As James says, make sure that you are using the IMAP servers for your email. You will need to check the help pages for your email provider to get the correct settings in all your devices. POP really doesn't fit the needs of todays mutiple access, always on internet, so you are better off moving to IMAP.

Try turning off the Camera Roll option in Settings>iCloud>Backup & Storage>Manage Storage>Your device. Then turn it back on again.

Mac mini server has suddenly stopped seeing one or the other bluetooth devices! Batteries have been changed and they will connect to an older Mac mini. Server will now only see one or the other but not both.

My Mac mini server has suddenly stopped seeing one or the other bluetooth devices, either the wireless keyboard or the mouse( both apple products) have tried new batteries, at first it was the mouse that stopped responding, but upon rebooting the computer now the keyboard will not respond and the mouse works. Both work fine on an older Mac mini that I hooked back up to check.

There is absolutely no reason why they should not bothe be able to connect to your WiFi network. The easiest place to start would be to reboot your router. Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again. I would also restart both the iPad and the iPhone.

Do not worry about it.
Time Machine needs that your external drive is formatted in HFS+, or better known as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". This filesystem is used by Apple on Macs and Windows cannot read or write drives formatted with this filesystem, being this the reason why all your devices do not read the external drive except your Mac.
You can only use your external drive to make Time Machine drives. If you store anything different, you may damage the Time Machine structure, so it is better not to use it as a drive to store other data. Instead, get another external drive to do it or create a second partition on the external drive formatted in FAT32 by using Disk Utility > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU3.html FAT32 can be read by Windows PCs
