Mail deleting my mail!

I have no junk mail filtering, no rules, but Mail deletes my email and it is not in the trash or in the junk mail folder! I open the Mail application and I see my messages and then watch as they disappear.
any ideas?

Same problem here - noticed it first a couple of days ago.
I do have a rule (just the default apple highlight one) and do have junk filtering on - but only "put into junk" not delete it.
I have done some trials but frankly they weren't particularly revealing - I thought it was linked to having the system set to remove the messages from my POP server on download, but I'm not sure about that.
It does only seem to affect the inbox folder - so ironically junk and deleted mail are kept...
Strangely it seems happier now I have set up a second rule which copies every mail to a local folder called "localmail" - as a result of which the mail in the main inbox is kept as well as the new copy.
This is very very frustrating, not least for the other users of my machine who are now concerned about logging in in case their mail archives are deleted also. Thankfully I didn't have too many sat in the inbox - and I have simply contacted those that have sent me to resend it.

Background: I recently (December) bought an ipad and set up icloud for contacts and calendar, but NOT mail. My email provider is Verizon. I use computer, iphone, and ipad to check my email; eventually I download it from the server using Outlook on the computer and then delete any remaining emails from the phone and ipad. I can't find info on this problem anywhere.

It sounds like your iPad all of a sudden seems to be restarting out of no where. If you haven't called AppleCare yet, I would start with quitting either the app that seems to be causing the issue, or all the apps if a single doesn't seem to be the culprit.
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.

Mail - Deletion of Mail e-mails

Trying to delete a number of e-mails using delete icon; the e-mails initally clear but on re-use find that the deleted e-mails are still present on the system. Any ideas on how to delete deleted e-mails!!!

Gmail does that with its "All Mail" folder, label, black hole, or whatever you want to call it.
There is a setting in the Web interface allowing you to actually delete what you deleted.

ICloud Mail, deleting all mail.

I have been using the iCloud mail from quite sometime now (Sense the first iPod Touch) and I have noticed it has grown quite a bit from the first release of the iCloud severs came out with the mail option and there is nothing that has shown me how to delete all mail from the server on the system and it is kinda heard to delete my Gmail n' iCloud mail with the combination of over 3500 E-Mail on file from the server in my inbox so is there any possible way to delete all of the mail?

You Gmail wouldn't be on the iCloud server; iCloud only hosts iCloud email. To delete your iCloud email, open your mail on icloud.com, click a folder on the left (such as your inbox), click on a single message to the right, scroll down and shift-click another email to select the range, then click on the trash can icon at the top. You will get an error if you try to select too many at once so you'll have to experiment to see how many you can select to delete at a time. Repeat this for each of your mail folders except Trash. When finished, click on the actions (gear-shaped) icon on the upper right and select Empty Trash.

IOS mail deleting Yahoo mails

I don't know where the problem lies, but, I lost my entire email(twice!) in my inbox when trying to delete multiple emails from my iPad.
As always, I would select "Edit", and select multiple emails to delete and select "Delete". And "Delete Message" button pops up.
When I touch that button, everything in my inboxe are deleted! When it happened the first time, I thought I did something wrong.
But, it happened again! Luckily, Yahoo was able to restore my emails both times.
Now, I am deleting one at a time from iPad.
Anyone with similar problem?

If Mail is configured for IMAP access, what you're seeing is "normal" behavior. See this discussion.
You might look into POP3 access, although that may cause you other problems.

Sync e-mails: deleted e-mail from outlook still showing in the iphone.

Why a specific e-mail already deleted in the outlook, which is sync with iphone, still showing in the iphone screen many days later despite of the fact that all other e-mails are deleted without a problem?
My iphone is sync with my outlook e-mails with a corporate account, has being working perfect since than, but I have one specific e-mail that came in few days ago, answered, and "deleted"; however when deleted i still getting a message "the message could not be moved to the mailbox trash" and the related e-mail still showing in my inbox.

Is this an IMAP account, or an Exchange account accessed via ActiveSync with the Exchange server?
If this message is no longer available in the account's Inbox mailbox on the server, try deleting and recreating the account on your iPhone.

Yahoo Account Hacked - All Mail Deleted - Only mail on phone remains...

One of my yahoo accounts was hacked and all of my mail was deleted. However, all of my mail remains on my iPhone because I used POP3. How do I transfer my mail to my computer?
I would really appreciate any assistance.

Unless there is a 3rd party utility available that provides for transferring email from an account's mailbox to your computer but then the email would need to be imported by an email client and not sure if an email client supports that, you can email each email to yourself.

Mail deleting e-mail from server

My e-mail keeps disappearing from my server. When I link to my server through the interet (eg when I'm not at home), I can see and read my e-mail, but recent messages keep disappearing. Comcast is the server and they think it may be a problem with Mail. I've checked preferences on Mail and it is set to leave a copy on the server, but they keep dumping off of the server anyway. Is there a glitch with Mail that is telling the server to dump read mail? Anything I can do?

Are you referring to @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com emails? Or some other email providers emails?
If the former, it should do that automatically. If the latter, no. iCloud does not (nor is it supposed to) sync non-Apple provided emails.

i realised i have this 200mb of messages this morning & tried deleting my messages but it started to hang half way and my phone gets very hot. thn i do pressed my lock & home button to reset the phone, thn it cool atfer awhile but i got all my messges back lol..

Mail is backed up automatically. If you make backups automatically, open Mail application and then, open the Time Machine app (in /Applications/Utilities). You will access to the Time Machine interface, and you will be able to see all your mails of all the backups you have, and you will be able to restore them. It means that your mails are backed up onto the Time Capsule

Welcome to the Apple community.
The apps are not actually in your iCloud storage, they are links to the apps in the App Store. What you are seeing is your purchase history and as such cannot be deleted.
You can however hide your purchases, which you can do from the QuickLinks > Purchased option from the main page in the iTunes Store on your computer.

Mail app will not open at all. I cannot even delete a mail account. Wondering if daylight savings time has caused an issue.

When I click on the mail app it either immediately crashes and brings me back to the home screen or it opens briefly and tried to download all previous emails and crashes in the middle. When I try to delete a mail account it says it can't because it is syncing. I closed mail using the double click (which only shows a black white box) and I have rebooted three times. I did previously add my childs yahoo e-mail account to Apple mail but did not Sync it. But, as soon as I deleted an e-mail in Apple mail it did so in my childs yahoo mail & and vise versa. Is there another way I am missing?

I had things set up that way and it worked fine. However, last week on my iPhone, my bellsouth.com account kept coming up with "the POP server is not responding," but the account worked on my Macs and my iPad. I deleted the account and added it again. Now it seems to be an IMAP account (the POP server still does not respond). When I access the "advanced" tap in the setings, when I click "Deleted Mailbox" under "Mailbox Behaviors" it appears to show an option to leave mail in the server inbox but the word "Inbox" is in grey and not clickable. Has ATT changed its servers?
