Mail Died

Everything was going fine until last night. If I open mail it closes after a few seconds and shows a report. This sounded like some of the other questions on here until I tried some of the ideas. None of them worked. I tried to disable the junk mail settings, I tried to go offline as soon as it loaded. I don't have any plugins. Im at a loss. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Ja, doof. Nur leider kann dir ohen vernünftige Systeminformationen und andere Details keiner was zu dem Thema sagen. außerdem gibt es einen Bug zwischen LR und PS, wo generell die Kommunikation nicht klappt, also kann es sein, dass das nie was wird... Als Ausgangspunkt einfach mal alles neu installieren, nachdem das Cleaner Tool angewendet wurde...

Mail dying on "Updating Cache" with Gmail IMAP

Many times every day, Mail appears to die while updating its cache on my Gmail account (IMAP). It works fine with all other POP and IMAP accounts but something with the Gmail account causes it go die. I have to force quit to get out of it and re-launch and, invariable, it happens again. Never when I am looking, only when mail is in the background (that could just be dumb luck). Anyone else having anything like this?

I fixed this problem by doing a "manual" rebuild which included the following:
- Archived my mailboxes
- Quit Mail
- Moved my Mail folder out of my Library folder
- Moved the Mail preference file out of the preferences folder
- Started Mail which now thought it was starting for the first time
- Entered my account information
- Imported my Mail folders that had been archived
- Quit Mail
- Copied back my rule, signatures, etc., from the Mail folder I had moved out of the Library folder to the new Mail folder.
- Started Mail
Everything now works fine for me.
Disclaimer: This it the procedure I remember doing at work and I think it's correct. If you are going to try this make sure that you have backed up first and understand what you are doing.

Früher konnte man in mail die letzte gespeicherte datei recht leicht einfügen lassen. mit dem neuen betriebssystem ist diese funktion leider nicht mehr da.

in der Vergangenheit konnte man beim Mailanhang die letzte bearbeitete Datei schneller einfügen. Heute muss man sich erst durch die gesamte Ordnerstruktur durchsuchen.
Gibt es diese Funktion "letzte bearbeitete / gespeicherte Datei" nicht mehr?
Bitte schnell wieder einfügen :-)

Ich glaube nicht - keine Spur mehr davon gefunden. Ich wüßte auch gerne, wo diese Option geblieben ist.
Aber man kommt von der Seitenleiste sehr schnell dahin, wenn man in den Favoriten "Alle Dateien" zur Seitenleiste hinzugefügt hat. Wenn Du "Alle Dateien" nach dem letzten Änderungsdatum sortierst, sind die zuletzt bearbeiten Dateien am Anfang der Liste, wenn Du einen Anhang auswählen willst:

Why cant i disable mail service ?

Mail service got enabled when I enabled some other services (don't know which one) i checked a couple and it got enabled, i tried to disable it then but it wouldn't let me, back then i didn't pay much attention to it so of course it's not configured. Right now the server is going crazy with disk IO, ran iotop and found out there are 2 processes to blame, 1 is mds (i'll murder spotlight soon) and the other is qmgr which from the man page i found it's mail related, my mail is hosted on gmail so i have no intention of using this service. If i click stop nothing happends, same if i uncheck it under services.

Is there any way to kill it, or is my only way around it to figure out what's wrong with it (no one is using it for mail so i don't get why is it so busy).

Unchecked 'Enable SMTP', 'Enable IMAP' and 'Enable POP', then checked 'Deliver to /var/mail
That seemed to 'disable the mail service'
As for disk usage, i'm running a cron job every minute so que queue had close to 6k mails it couldn't deliver. deleted them all " sudo postsuper -d ALL " and redirected output on the cron job to /dev/null

Unser Mailprogramm ist David. Wir erstellen PDFs aus bei uns eingegangenen Mails, die entweder HTML oder reine Text-Mails sein können. Bei beiden Formaten tritt das Problem gleichermaßen auf. Wo kann ich feststellen, welches Encoding im Mailprogramm eingestellt ist?

Can't get mail to work. 127.0.0.1 refused

The server I had for mail died, so I am trying to get my companies mail over to the server we use for hosting our web sites. At one point before I worked here this server hosted the mail as well as the sites, so I thought this would not be such a daunting task. The overview in SA shows my SMTP, POP is Enabled, but I get error "connect to 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]: Connection refused". I can't figure out the problem.

IPhone 4s eMail App sendet keine Mails

Hallo zusammen!
Habe mehrere pop Accounts auf meinen iPhone 4seingerichtet.
Nun kommt es öfters mal vor (wenn ich eine neue E-Mailschreibe oder auf eine E-Mail antworte) das die E-Mail verschwindet sobald ichauf senden klicke. Die E-Mail ist dann vollständig weg. Sie kommt nicht beimEmpfänger an, ist nicht im Postausgang und ist nicht einmal untergesendet Mails zu finden. Es ist so ob als hätte ich die Mail nie geschrieben.
Der Fehler tritt aber nicht ständig auf. Wenn ich dieMail App komplett schließe und die Mail nochmal schreibe und sende funktioniertes meistens (nicht immer), die Mail wird gesendet und erscheint auch untergesendete Mails. Aber es kann doch nicht sein das ich für jede Mail die Appkomplett schließen muss.
Der Fehler taucht meistens auf wenn die App schon längergeöffnet ist oder die App gerade aktiv ist, also wenn gerade verbunden wird,Mails abgerufen werden oder andere Mails gesendet werden. Wenn eine Mail malnicht gesendet wir, würde ich damit leben können. Aber die Mails verschwinden komplettund ich muss sie nochmal schreiben.
Hat irgendjemand einen ähnlichen Fehler oder kann mir dabeihelfen den Fehler zu beheben?
Mit meinen Account müsste eigentlich alles passen. Habebereits beim Provider nachgefragt und der hat keine Antwort. Ports usw. passen.

Apple (Mac) mail & godaddy hosting. Incoming mail problems

Hello smiling
This morning my godaddy domain hosting transfer went live, and my incoming mail died. After an hour on the phone with godaddy support, they blamed my ISP. My ISP (ATT) blames godaddy.All I know is my mail worked fine with my other host server.
My POP settings are correct according to all sources. My spelling is correct. My password is correct. My email is still not forthcoming. I can send, but I cannot receive.Any ideas? Anyone?
I'm desperate to fix this as I just spent days transferring my website to save $10 a month. I don't even want to think about switching back. Has anyone else had and solved this issue?

password is correct
account is enabled
Send mail is fine
Get mail is not working
webmail works
MX record is correct

I am in the same situation, only I can not send... but am receiving mail fine.
Try the incoming server setting: mail.yourwebsitename.com
The "secureserver" settings do not work for me either.
I am trying to solve the outgoing mail designation, and I am sure it is possible.

Apple zogezegd maar je komt terecht op een namaaksite op de server van http://banyakdiskon.com. Ik heb me ingelogd maar ineens vroegen ze allerlei dingen zoals kredietkaart. Ik heb dan maar onmiddellijk mijn paswoord veranderd. Kan ik nu nog kwaad?

Mac Mail problems...never seen before???

Mac Mail hangs, won't download all emails, and then won't fully quit...?~!
I just reinstalled the Bundled Software, but now I'll bet Mail isn't in that bunch, but comes with the System software. Oh, well...
Any help...from any quarter?

Did you just install the Software Update for Safari 4.0.1? This happened to me, same symptoms. Suddenly any time I tried to access my email Mail died a lingering death.
Try launching Safari, opening its Preferences, selecting Security, and unchecking "Warn when visiting a fraudulent website".
A serious bug and a serious and disappointing gap in QA before releasing such a vital component.

Hallo, kann mir jeman sagen, wie ich sicher stellen kann (bzw. welche Einstellungen ich vornehmen muss), dass meine Mails, die im Mail-Programm im HTML-Format geschrieben werden in der gleichen Schrifttype auf einem Windows-PC ankommen. Derzeit schrreibe ich in Arial 10, die angehängte Signatur ist ach in Arial 10. Auf dem Windows-PC kommt die Mail in TNR und die Signatur in Arial an.

Ich habe das gleiche problem....ich hoffe auf eine schnelle loesung...
