Mail displaying Exchange 2007 tasks

I have tasks in my Exchange 2007 Tasks folder. iCal sees them and displays them in its "Tasks" calendar, but Mail does not seem to display any in its "To Do" folder. Is this intentional?
I also cannot create a new To Do in the Exchange account. My "To Do" button is disabled, and the tooltip displays this message: http://gallery.me.com/link.dupont/100100/MailToDoToolTip

  • Mail and Exchange 2007 Assertion Failure

I have been using Mail with Exchange 2007 on SL since it came out without issue, until last week. Once I start Mail I experience the following issues:
    1. Mail folders sometimes show as empty. Occasionally synchronizing the account corrects the issue, but often I need to restart Mail.
    2. Messages are duplicated in my Inbox. The only way to correct this is to delete and readd my account.
    3. Sent mail creates a draft message after the message has been sent. This usually goes away in 5-10 minutes of normal use.
    4. I get the following error message around 5 times per second in the system log while Mail is open and connected to Exchange:
Mail[718]: * Assertion failure in -[EWSConnection sendMessage:forRequest:], /SourceCache/Message/Message-1077/MessageStores.subproj/EWSConnection.m:374\nRe ceived an unexpected error: Error Domain=EWSExchangeWebServicesErrorDomain Code=277 UserInfo=0x118be9740 "The operation couldn’t be completed. I have only seen one person report this issue so far and the fix was to remove /Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist. I tried that, but the issue was not resolved.
I am running Mail 4.2 on Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on a MBP 15" unibody. Any help is appreciated.

I too have been using Mail.app x Exchange 2007 since SL came out without issue. Very similar issues started exhibiting themselves last week for me, as well:
    1. Mail folders sometimes show as empty (including the inbox). A restart of Mail fixes this.
    2. New messages occasionally only show headers. A restart of Mail fixes this.
    3. Mail will occasionally hang forever retrieving new messages.
    4. Sending a message will occasionally return a failure message, when it was, in fact, delivered. If I choose to "Send Later", a duplicate message is immediately sent.
#1-3 are annoyances, #4's caused me to switch away from Mail.app--comes across as incredibly unprofessional to my user base and associates.
Here's just one of the hundreds of messages that appears in Console (these literally pop up every 2-5 seconds I have Mail.app open..):
    3/11/10 3:25:05 PM Mail[30150] * Assertion failure in -[EWSConnection sendMessage:forRequest:], /SourceCache/Message/Message-1077/MessageStores.subproj/EWSConnection.m:374

I'll try deleting and reinstalling the Developer Tools as hinted at in the above post, but I'm not so sure it'll make a difference for me, as my Mac Pro was immediately loaded with SL.

  • Mail for Exchange and Tasks

    Hello all,
I'm using Outlook 2007 and a exchange accouny with mail2WEB.com. When i synchronize with Mail for Exchange everything is synchronized but not the tasks? Any ideas? The tasks in Outlook 2007 are real tasks and not follow ups.
    Greets,

  • Mail (Lion) & Exchange 2007, periodically stops receiving messages, does no hang

As the title says, we are having this issue.  I saw another post last year about Exchange 2010 hanging, and an old certificate caused the issue.  Our network admin is looking into that.
We are not experiencing any hangs.  Mail "works" fine.  We have multiple accounts setup (all Exchange) and 2 of the 3 are sending and receiving fine.  The last mailbox, the actual use account, will stop receiving.  There are no errors or indicators.  Typically someone will call and ask why she isn't responding.  She closes Mail and reopens and the emails come in.  Sometimes it's once a day, sometimes more.  I've removed the Exchange account and added it back in and it helped, but didn't resolve the issue.
    Any thoughts?

After having the same error ("opening mailbox - Requesting latest information" - hang) and fighting for months on my Mac (Lion) to solve it, including writing angry bug reports to Apple - I think I finally found the source of the problem:
There was an old (invalid) certificate installed in Exchange (2007, in my case), enabled for SMTP.
Nobody seems to care about this - including Snow Leopard Mail, Outlook and all iOS devices - but Lion Mail cared, and just stuck. Typically after some time - maybe sleep/wake or just a couple of hours - Mail was stuck and did not receive any new mails anymore, until I Force Quit it.
I got the hint from another forum (somebody suggested changing the properties in the locally installed certificates in Lion - but this was not the solution) and after seeing the question popping up once in Mail Preferences (do you want to trust this (old) certificate).
After removing the old certificate from Exchange (good luck with this admin user interface - no wonder we did not notice it) - everything works ok for me, already a day without any hangs.
Hope it helps! (Let us know the outcome...)

  • Mail and Exchange 2007 won't allow customizable "From" Header

I use Mac Mail with an Exchange 2007 server. In Preferences > Accounts, under "Account Information," I have two different e-mail addresses (e.g., the address for that exchange server and a gmail address) listed in the "Email address" field. When I create a new message, there is a pull-down menu next to "From:" that is supposed to allow me to choose which of those two e-mail addresses should appear in that field.
However, regardless of which e-mail address I choose, the e-mail message always has the "From:" address for the exchange server. In other words, it won't allow me to customize the "From:" field. This worked properly in the past and I've been using it for awhile, but it quit working when I re-installed Mail. Everything else works perfectly.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any recommendations?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for your message.
Actually, changing "Reply-To" isn't what I need. I need the proper e-mail address to show in the "from" field; for example, because I need to send messages to a server and those messages need to come from a specific e-mail address.
And, the pull-down message is definitely next to the "From" field whenever a new message is generated.
I actually don't receive messages in Mail for the other two accounts (e.g., I use Gmail's web interface for Gmail messages). I'm simply needing to modify the "From:" field in OUTGOING messages, something that used to work but quit working recently.

  • Mail w/Exchange 2007 Account- Reply arrow appears, but reply not found

    Hello out there,
I'm really hoping someone can help with this. I have a problem, and it affects all three of the Macs I regularly use: an iMac at home, a MacBook on the road, and and iMac at the office. I have three mail accounts configured identically on all these Macs: Gmail, MobileMe, and an Exchange 2007 account, which uses the Web Services Edition. In short, everything is completely up to date all the way round. Oh, and I also use an iPhone which accesses my Exchange account for mail as well.
My problem is this: I reply to a message in either the MobileMe or the Gmail account and presto, the reply arrow appears and clicking on it instantly reveals my reply. Works as advertised. In the Exchange account, the arrow also appears, and shows up on whichever Mac I happen to be using. However, clicking on the arrow I get a message that says something like "reply not found, you may have deleted it." Which, of course, I haven't. If I search the Exchange account's sent mail folder I find it easily, so I know it's there.
I've tried all kinds of stuff, deleting the plist file, completely removing and reinstalling the Exchange account, rebuilding folders, all to no avail.
Anyone have any ideas? I would really like to resolve this and find it a major flaw, at least as it appears, in Apple's implementation of Exchange server support.
    Thanks in advance!

I have 10.6.3 running on my iMac and the problem still exists - all reply and forward status arrows are basically inert; clicking on they does not show my my reply or forward. I don't believe that there is any preference that affects this behavior so it can only be some kind of bug.

  • Mail for Exchange, new task and calendar entries

    Dear All,
I am having a wonderful time with a brand new E71 plus the latest version of Mail for Exchange (2.09.158 as per the info screen on the device). It syncs fine with a Exchange 2003 server in that contacts, tasks and calendar entries (it is not supposed to sync mail as well) are properly downloaded and changes made on the phone are replicated back to the server on the next sync.  The fun starts when I create a new task or calendar entry on the phone: Those are  not created on the server at all. Another problem is deleting a task on the phone that was created on the server. For some reason the deletion does not show up on the server as well and the task remains there until deleted via Outlook. Has anybody seen this kind of behaviour? I cannot debug anything on the server, since it is a hosted solution from an ISP. Neither can I sniff the network traffic, since that is SSL encrypted. Any tips and/or work arounds are greatly appreciated.
    Best regards,

    bump.
still the same even with the latest version.

One fix is to switch the outbound SMTP manually to be the exchange hostname or say a home ISP but this is a hack considering sending mail clearly works purely over SSL and web services, it's just certain attachments that are failing. It's also a pain for travelling users with laptops who won't always have access to SMTP due to blocked ports etc.
    Similar issues but no fixes

This is also not related to the issues of sending attachments of 10meg+, for e.g.

  • Virtual Mail Server (Exchange 2007)

    G'day,
I have 10.5.4 server running on a 1.66GHz Core Duo MacMini. I'm desperate to have a push mail server running and I'm about to go ahead with this design. Just wanted to see what you guys thought about it first.
10.5.4 server as the primary system
VMWare Fusion emulating 2003 Enterprise Server R2 with 2003 Exchange Server SP1
Could have all the files locally based on the server and the beauty of virtual environment is that I can simply reboot to previously saved settings if anything is to go pair shaped.
Let me know what you think.

Actually I was thinking of doing the same thing, but with my PowerMac G5 Dual 1.8Ghz, 2GB Ram, 34GB Raptor 10K boot volume, and 150G Data store.
Does Apple's Leo Server have push cal/mail/contacts? I desperately need a simple setup as well for our office, and currently run a test Server 2008 environment running Exchange 2007, but its overly bloated and so many configuration options.
    Thanks!

  • Sync selected Mail accounts - Exchange 2007

I am trying to determine the limitations of syncing Mail accounts through iTunes to an iPod Touch.
I am using the latest version of Snow Leopard, iTunes and iOS. The iPod Touch is a 2nd generation 8GB model.
I have a GMail IMAP and an Outlook Live Exchange 2007 account in Mail. In iTunes it only indicates the IMAP account. Is this because iTunes cannot sync Exchane accounts. I can setup the Exchange account on Mail and the iPod Touch seperately but, I would prefer to have it synced to make it tidier.
    Is this possible?
    Thank you in advance.

    Is this possible?
No. Your exchange account syncs over the air.

  • Integrate Calender and Mails from  Exchange and Tasks from Lotus?

    Hi,
I am currently integrating MS Exchange as the main groupware system into a 7.0 portal. Now the customer wants to integrate tasks fom Lotus Domino into the UWL.
Is it at all possible to integrate both systems?
How can I integrate Lotus Domino Tasks at all?
    Kind regards,
      Jörg

    Hi Jörg,
thanks to the Groupware Framework of the SAP NetWeaver Portal you can integrate MS Exchange and Lotus Notes at the same time. The groupware framework enables the integration of e-mail and scheduling services. But be aware that the Groupware framework provides abstraction only for calendar data and not for tasks and contacts (see here ).
That's why you are going to integrate Lotus Domino Tasks into the UWL. Unfortunately, there is no ready-to-use UWL Connector for Lotus Domino but you are free to develop your own. Have a look at Alan's blog .
    Best regards,
    Martin

  • Mails Lost Exchange 2007

    Hi,
I've some problems with the exchange server 2007. We are losing some mails and it looks like they getting lost between the Edge and the Hub role. All roles are installed on one physical device (no vms). I searched the one of the lost mails with the trouble
shooting tool and found it after that i check the details with get-messagetrackinglog -internalmessageid "XXXX".
The result was that this "lost message" has just one entry with the eventID RECEIVE. Then I checked an email for the same sender which arrived the mailbox. This mail has two entries, one with eventID RECEIVE and another with the eventID DELIVER.
My question is how can I find and resend this lost emails. They can not be in the queue anymore bnecause they are deleted after the categorizer categorizes them.
Is there a shell command to resend them?
Where can I find the e-mails, are tehy still cached on the system?
    Thanks for your Help

    Hi,
as you can see in my earlier post I checked two messages of the same sender, one good and one bad message.
Both were received from the system and one was acctually delivered.
I just called the one mail "Badmail" because it didn't went trough to the mailbox but it was recived and it still think it got lost on the way from teh queue to the mbx.
Trackinglog Bad mail (check out the full log in my first post)

    >The mail comes in ->edge puts it into the queue->categorizier checks it (smtp adr..) ->transferstarts + queue entry is removed
Here is the Agentlog and as I've written the logs look fine.

  • Mail with Exchange 2007 - Rules for "Mark as Read" and "Move to Folder"

I have seen this posted before, but never any resolution. This is very frustrating to me.
I have an Exchange account set up in the the latest version of Mail.app (4.4.1082) for OS X 10.6.6. I have rules set up for this account that tell Mail.app to mark the message as read after moving the message to a specific folder if it meets the provided criteria. The rule does move the message to the proper folder, but it does not mark the message as read. This only seems to affect Exchange accounts.
Has anybody experiencing this found a resolution? I have tried separating the rules or putting them in a different order (and mail just reorders them the way it wants which is frustrating to me as well). Seems no matter how I do it the mail either gets marked and not moved or moved and not marked.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

  • Cannot send mail from Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2007

    I have an
Exchange 2007server with all roles in the same server (Version:
08.03.0327.001 ) on a Windows 2008 R2 server. I have now installed two Exchange 2013 servers both with CAS and MBX roles on Windows 2012 servers
(full patched). There is also a DAG between the new servers. All mail goes through a BorderWare besides the internal mail.
I can send mail from both environments to the Internet. I can also send internal mail from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.But the problem is that I am unable to send from Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2007. I've debugged, but not solved the problem and there are
    few articles on the Internet.
    Any suggestions?

These two sentences are in conflict : "I can also send
    internal mail
    from Exchange
    2007 to
    Exchange 2013. But
    the problem is
    that I am unable
    to send from Exchange
    2007 to
    Exchange 2013. "
Can you describe what is your real problem? Flow from E2007->E2013? Or vice versa?

  • Exchange 2007 Settings

    Hi All,
Just wondered if anyone who has Snow Leopard working with exchange 2007 (tasks in particular) could send any info about their exchange settings. I can't create a task from an email or text within a mail. All the other integration seems to work fine, Mail, iCal, Address Book. I would really like it to work to complete my switch to mac and don't want to have to run windows in fusion any longer to keep outlook.

Probably not going to happen. AFAIK, what you've got working, the basic Mail, iCal & Address Book, are the limit of Exchange integration with the Apple apps. Even Microsoft's Entourage for Mac does not have the full capabilities of Outlook for Windows. Microsoft has never given a good Exchange Client for Mac since Outlook98 back in the pre OSX days. Like you, I still have to use Outlook for Windows, although in my case it's a separate physical machine rather than a virtual machine. I also have my Windows Mobile phone synced as much as I can though Outlook/Exchange, but since even WinMo is almost as feature-crippled as my Mac, I've mostly stopped using those features that can't be managed from my phone. Thus my need for the missing features on the Mac side is not as critical.
My current workaround is to connect using Outlook Web Access. It's included with Exchange 2007 and installed by default, but your mail server administrator needs to allow access. I haven't tried with very many browsers, but using Opera, I am able to create and edit Tasks. But OWA really only works well with Internet Explorer, so OWA is not much of an answer for non-Windows users anyway.
I've been told that the next version of Microsoft Office for Mac (2011) will have Outlook instead of Entourage. Whether that version will actually have all the features of the Windows version of Outlook, we'll have to wait and see. But at least there's hope.
