Mail doesn't seem to be receiving all messages

I'm using Mail 5.2 in Lion. For the last couple of days, my mac.com address seems to be getting only a very limited number of messages. Like mailing lists that usually have 25-30 messages in the morning only have 6-8 in the morning.
Sent an email to someone who's usually very prompt and have not gotten a message back in two days.
Signed up for a news update on my wife's account and she got a confirmation message immediately. Singed up for the same service with my ISP email account and got a confirmation message immediately. But I got no message back after signing up with my mac.com account. How do I fix this???? I KNOW I'm missing a lot of messages.
They do not show up in iCloud either.

Check in Mail>Preferences>Accounts>Mailbox Behaviors: Make sure that Drafts and Sent are set to save on server.

    iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> Accounts ->
Delete and recreate your email settings.
Alternatively, use Apple's Mail for the job. It has Templates too - and more of them.

  • Receiving all messages including old ones from a JMS Topic

    Hi all,
is there a way for a subscriber to receive all messages available in a Topic including the "old" ones?
By the "old" messages I mean messages written in the Topic before the subscriber really subscribes or messages created oven before the subcrieber exist.
What is the best solution for this? Are there any?
    Many thanks,
    Nelson.

    Hi Nelson,
Any mechanism for reprocessing messages is up to your JMS provider. If I may plug DropboxMQ, it has a simple but effective mechanism to do exactly as you wish. With DropboxMQ every messages is a file. Redelivery is as simple as moving messages from one directory to another. Here is the link:

  • Relaying Outgoing Mail Doesn't seem to work

    Hi,
I am a subscriber to Comcast ): and because many mail servers reject my mail from a non-static IP address, I use the option under Server Admin - Mail called "Relay outgoing mail through host: smtp.comcast.net
However this doesn't seem to help. In fact looking at the header of a message I sent from my server to a gmail account, it shows the IPs as my personal ones:

How can I get this working so all server like AOL accept my mail?

    #relayhost = $mydomain
    #relayhost = [gateway.my.domain]
    relayhost = smtp.comcast.net
    #relayhost = uucphost
    #relayhost = [an.ip.add.ress]
    # REJECTING UNKNOWN RELAY USERS
    then i did this:
    empco:~ james$ grep /etc/postfix/main.cf relayhost
grep: relayhost: No such file or directory
    Couple of things...
    1. Sorry, I got the grep command wrong way round! It should be...
    grep relayhost /etc/postfix/main.cf
All it does is show the lines in the file which contains "relayhost" - easier than listing the whole file.
    2. The GUI normally adds the options at the end of the file - so if grep lists another 'blank' relayhost, remark out your old one and edit the entry at the end. (just in case an existing blank entry at the end is overwriting your edited one).
    3. You can actually edit main.cf whilst the mail services are running. Just execute the reload command in Terminal afterwards...
    sudo postfix reload
The sudo prefix runs the command as root, so it will ask for the root (admin) password.
Any changes made like this should automatically show up in the Server Admin GUI. Click the 'refresh' button.
I've confirmed the above works on my test system, so here's hoping!

  • Mail doesn't seem to honor my address book

I recently updated to Tiger and since then all the rules I had set up previously are not being honored by Mail, nor is it recognizing addresses in Address Book when I am receiving my emails. It's as if I'm starting out with a blank Address Book and having to add all the addresses on incoming mail to my address book for Mail to recognize they are there. Messages are being directed to the Junk folder unless I have gone in and rewritten the rule for a specific address or group - then Mail recognizes that part of my address book and responds to the new rule.
Oddly enough, when I am composing, Mail sees my Address Book just fine and shows addresses as I type.
Has any one else run into that and if so, what did you do to correct the problem?
    G4 dual, iBook G4, G3 desktop, Apple IIsi   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

I have sort of the same problem. I bought a new iMac a couple of months ago. Since then Mail does not seem to recognize my address book entries. It continues to ignore rules based on my address book. I got curious and looked at my previous recipients log. It shows address that are in my book as non members. Why. What would I have to do to fix it. I know its a small problem, but is very annoying.
    Example.
Say [email protected] is in my Address book.
Mail refuses to see her in my Book. My previous recipients log shows it as a non address book entry.
Could it possible be because it is not the main email address. ie, it's a work address not a home address? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thx in advance

  • Not receiving all messages through Mail 1.3.11

I utilize Comcast as my server.
Suddenly, I have a problem getting some incoming messages with my Mail 1.3.11 program.
I have no problem receiving ALL incoming messages at my comcast mailboxes,
    but
only SOME messages come through when I utilize my Mail 1.3.11 program.
(I cannot discern a particular pattern.)
I can't figure why I'm suddenly having this problem.
As far as I know, there are no firewall problems.

    dlinma,
    Can we check something here?
In Mail > Preferences > Accounts, then click that account... in "Account Information" this is what mine looks like:
Account Type: POP / Description: [email protected] / Email Address: [email protected] / Full Name: My Name / Incoming Mail Server: mail.comcast.net / User Name: email name before the @ only / Password: **** / outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.comcast.net
You can set the Special Mailboxes items at will.
    In "Advanced" I have this:
Enable this Account: Check / Include when automatically checking for new mail: Check / Remove copy from server after retrieving a message: Check... in the scroll bar: Right away / Prompt me to skip messages over: 600 KB / Account Directory: ~/Library/Mail... / Port: 110 / Use SSL: No / Authentication: Password.
Does yours resemble mine? The Skip Messages size is up to you, even if you use it (I did on dial-up and haven't changed it yet). Also, the port number may be different in another part of the country. Also, make sure you are "Online" with the account... on the Mail Menu Bar > Mailbox > Online Status... mine tends to timeout and go offline at times, but I get a little lightning symbol next to the inbox to show this (with the mailbox drawer open)... the port is maybe busier when that happens.
Now we have looked North, South and East... If these don't get it, we go West...

  • Doesn't seem to be including all songs in shuffle. Repeats same songs

When in shuffle mode, doesn't seem to include all songs in the shuffle.  It repeats the same songs.

Well, seems to me that if the computer is reading other CDs, the lens should not be a problem? If you really think it would help though, I suppose I'll try it.
Since I posted I've tried leveling the computer because I thought that might be an issue, but I think I can rule that out.
Could it be that I need to download some sort of driver update? I don't know when I purchased those Memorex CD-Rs that I'd been using and that worked, but the ones I just bought look a little different, so maybe they are also more advanced in some way?
Maybe 3 or 4 discs that I put in (out of maybe 50) actually did show up on the desktop and when I tried to burn them, started burning as normal. But then about 20 seconds into it, it said something about it not being able to burn.
I have also run Disk First Aid, which told me that there is an invalid PEOF. Could this be creating the problem?
Thanks to anyone who can shed some light...

Then you'll need to get to the store and buy an external drive (at least twice the size of your internal drive). Use Time Machine to backup, post back if you need help setting that up.
You must have a backup if you intend to repartition a drive for use with Windows, unless you really don't care about your files, pictures, music etc.

  • JMS (Transaction ???) problem, consumer receives all messages at once.

Hallo, I have an application which implements asynch communication between the web and business layer using JMS.
On a page a user can upload files, which are processed by the backend. For large files this can be a long running process, thats why we use JMS to send the file asynchronously and use JMS to update progress information on the page.
The application works fine on JBoss 6 with HornetMQ.
After porting to Weblogic I see consistently a strange phenomenon. The update messages from the processing backend logic are send as expected. But the receiver does not receive one message after another but receives all the messsages almost at once after only the producer has sent the last message.
For me this is totally unexpected behavior and of course our progress bar on the page does not work properly, but merely jumps from 0 to 100% after the data has been processed.
It looks like the consumer waits until the producer has finished its transaction. But how can this be possibly? I have learned that transaction never span producer - messagesystem - consumer.
    Example Code:
    Producer:

    Thanks for posting your analysis!
I think your solution is probably best.
FYI: Your JMS session was never a "transacted" session. It's definitely confusing, but the term "transacted session" has a special meaning in JMS, it actually refers to a session that is not XA/JTA aware and instead maintains an internal local transaction that's scoped only to the current JMS session's operations. A transacted session is created by passing "true" to the first parameter of createSession, and such a session's local transaction is committed by calling session.commit() (which starts a new transaction). To further add to the confusion, I think that JEE servers are actually obligated to ignore requests to set the transacted flag to true -- WebLogic does this trick by secretly wrapping access to the JMS API when applications lookup JMS connection factories via a resource reference.

  • IPhone slide doesn't work properly while receiving text message.

My message ring is 30 sec long ring and while I received a message, the ring is supposed to stop while I slide it. But it doesn't stop and I need to open music player and set the ring to 0. While my phone is not on vibrate mode, it's quite annoying to do that every time I receive a message.

Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears)

  • MSI i-Charger - Doesn't seem to work at all?

    Hi All
I've had very little problems with my 975X Platinum Power-Up Edition motherboard, and my system is running very well, I have Windows 7 64-Bit Ultimate running on my system, and I have just bought an Apple iPad.
The iPad shows that it is Not Charging when directly connected to the motherboard with the Dock Connector cable. This is because the iPad requires 1 Amp to charge as opposed to the 500mA that the USB Ports provide. Fortunately MSI have created the i-Charger software:

This allows the 1 Amp to be delivered to the port.
I installed the software and now I have an icon in the system tray of a battery with what looks like a red light inside it, when the software starts, nothing appears except a box which immediately closes. When the iPad is connected nothing happens and "Not Charging" still appears on the iPad display.
I thought it could be a problem with Windows 7 and/or 64 bit, so I changed my hard disk to one with an Windows XP SP-3 install on it which I use now and again for testing and for software that doesn't work under Windows 7 and/or 64 bit.
Having run it under windows XP it still does the same and doesn't work.
The install files are completely different, ie two separate downloads
    Any Help appreciated

    Thanks for your reply.
I was hoping that someone in the Forum has managed to get it to work.
I'm guessing that I won't get much assistance from the support dept regarding it.

The new iCharger beta version v1.0.101 fixed the compatibility issue with Apple iTunes, which caused the i-Pad can not be charged.
    Please test it, thank you.

  • Adobe muse doesn't seem to export to all devices.

    My testlink is http://galzerano.com/thummer
On some machines it's perfect, but for the android and apple phone 4 it renders small and justified to the left. Anyone know how to fix this?

As much as I believe that Muse is not really fit for purpose yet, I do not have the issues you are encountering with Opera.

  • Unable to send mail- mail remains in outbox and I receive error message

Ok, I have used Mail for years. All of a sudden I am unable to send mail. The mail goes to the outbox and then I receive the following error message.
This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.
The server "smtp.mac.com" refused to allow a connection on port 25.
I can connect to webmail of course and send mail that way.
    I receive mail perfectly.
    Not sure what to do...??
Thank you for any help with this.

Read the following article, which applies to all versions of Mac OS X (not just Mac OS X 10.4.2 and earlier as the article states) and can be useful for other mail accounts as well (not just .Mac):

  • Pop email account - no option to leave mail on server - no option to select all messages

I have recently obtained a Playbook and I use the latest OS version 2.1.0.1314 So, unlike other users, I did not experience the lack of an email application. I think the email application is excellent but it does have a couple of shortcomings. I would expect an option to leave email on the server when deleting emails on the Playbook. I have checked all the types in setup, not just Pop, and none offer this feature. I am a bit puzzled by another post on this site that refers to such an option. Was it a feature previously? I would also expect a bulk selection option so that all emails could be tagged for deletion without having to tag each one separately. These 2 features may well have been requested from Blackberry already and hopefully they will be included in a future release. Do Blackberry have a Suggestion Box?

Let me try and explain why that option is not required or even relevant to Playbook.
An email Client like Outlook or Thunderbird goes and gets a copy of your email from the webmail and stores it on your computer permanently. That "pop" action very often deletes the webmail version so you have an option to leave it there or not.
Playbook messages app is not an email client. Think of it as a remote control for your webmail. It takes a temporary copy of any webmail less than 7 days old (you can vary it between 1 day and 30 days) and whatever you do with it in Playbook happens to webmail. It uses your webmail's own rules for things like storing copies of sent mail.
If you delete a mail, it deletes it from webmail. If you don't, it doesn't. When it gets to 7 days old it just does not sync with Playbook and you can't see it any more. But it will still be there in Webmail unless you purposefully delete it with Playbook.
If you want to delete a whole page, tap the top one and the bottom one at the same time to select all mails between. It is most effective when in Portrail mode. Remember though this will delete them from your webmail.
