Mail draft not found

Sorry if this is old stuff but could not find solution - if I "save as draft", number beside box says I "2" but nothing appears in list - like they vanished. I've trashed "com.apple.mail.plist" and set up accounts again, as one suggested, to no avail - save as draft simply causes msg to be gone!
And, for the life of me, cannot find any preference or mail setting that is used to tell Mail where to save drafts. Also, checked mail servers (2 of them) and no sign of them there. Some guidance appreciated.

Re-loaded applications from iMac Applications Install DVD and seems to work now but saved 'drafts' still in cyberspace..

What package should I install to get the mail command working?
I used it to check my cron mails but doesn't work anymore.

You want mailx or the alternative heirloom implementation (in community, I believe)

Package javax.mail.* not found

Hello.
I've got a problem with a program in which I wanted to use the JavaMail-API. I've added the path of the needed jar-files into the CLASSPATH. But when I compile my application I get the error that the package java.mail.* was not found.
I've also tried it with the JBuilder5 and then I got the followed error message:
Error #: 302 : No access on the class javax.mail.Session; class javax.mail.Session was not found in a stable package
What did I do wrong? Please help me.

The problem is evident, the class you want to use is not in class path. There is no dilemma over that.
How can you check that the class is in classpath.
you can use javap command
If you are using WIN NT /200o you can use the command
javap with fully qualified name of the class e.g.
to find if the class String is in classpath
==> javap java.lang.String
This will print all the methods of the class on the DOSpromt. Similarly you can check
javap javax.mail.Session
if it doesnot find the class, the class is definitely not in classpath. You can set the class path as: -
set classpath = %classpath%;"path of mail.jar"
if mail.jar is located in say c:\jdk1.3\lib\mail.jar
set the classpath as :-
set classpath = %classpath%;C:\jdk1.3\lib\mail.jar;C:\jdk1.3\lib\activation.jar
Now check with javap it is working now and now you can compile you code.

As of today I managed to work out a totally new error with push notifications. In my mail-log the following appears:

So my machine tells me that an item was not found, but which one? It looks like I'm just a tiny step behind push....
BTW I read a lot about DNS. Do I really need to enter pubsub.osxserver.example.com into my DNS? Right now only osxserver.example.com is entered. DNS is completely managed by the same machine.

That should work okay, I would suggest you enable tracing and post a Trace of one of your requests and responses. That should better tell what's happening

Mail server not found

I have set up a enterpirse email account but I get the server is not found.

Are you using your cellular data network or a business or home wi-fi network? Do you have internet connectivity?

Yahoo mail draft not saving

I'm using yahoo mail through my mail app and it's starting not to save my drafts when I save them. It just started and don't know how to fix it. Anyone know?

I am seeing the same bug. It worked a few days ago (since I got the phone), but yesterday it stopped working. I've noticed some other minor changes in their web client as well, so clearly they've done an 'upgrade' of some kind and have broken their mail server. Even more frustrating is that the phone loses all changes to the email that was being saved -- I lost a fair bit of text before I realized that this was happening.

Broadcasting query-Broadcast type "Broadcast E-Mail (Bursting)" not found.

I had been going through a number of posts in SDN all of which speak about the setting which gives the options of sending query output via email to selected users based upon say a cost centre one is associated with.
But I cannot see this option "Broadcast E-Mail (Bursting)" in the distribution type.
I reached the broadcasting screen by Query Designer-> Publish-> BEx Broadcasting.
Is it that a precalculated server setup is required to get this distribution type ?
From what I know, a precalculated server is required only for broadcasting Workbooks and not required for query.
Or am I missing something in getting to this Broadcasting type.

I finally found the reason for non dispaly of that distribution type.
"Make sure that you have administrator authorization for broadcasting. You need authorization object S_RS_ADMWB with field RSADMWBOBJ = BR_SETTING.
The Broadcast E-Mail, Broadcast to Portal, and Broadcast to Printer distribution types are intended for all users.
All other distribution types listed below allow users to perform administrative tasks and are, therefore, only available to users with the appropriate authorization"
I have SAP ALL in my sandbox and all the distribution types are available

I need a permanent fix for the 'mail server not found' bug (iPad 2 3G)

This problem started happening on my iPad 2 (3G AT&T) about 2 months ago. I found the fix posted numerous times on this forum> delete your mail applications & reinstall them which I did (deleted & reinstalled both my gmail & yahoo accts). Same problem reappeared about 2 wks later so I repeated the fix. It happened a 3rd time this wk so I repeated this fix a THIRD time before I left town a few days ago. Here I am 3 days later & it's back AGAIN. FYI...ALL the apps are up to date on my iMac & iPad 2. Can anyone tell me when the fix for this bug is going to be released & what the work-around is?

You have to purchase a data plan to use 3G data but you don't have to purchase a data plan for the iPad to work. You will have full function of the device without a data plan, as long as you have wifi available.
I also have an iPad2 3G. I only sign up for 3G service when I need it, i.e. travelling for an extended period. The rest of the time, I just use wifi at home or whereever I can.

Mail Drafts not working correctly

The Drafts box in Mail is showing 3 items in two different email draft boxes. All the emails were sent properly. I didn’t put the files in the Drafts box.
They will stay there indefinitely, until I delete them.
One box shows it has 2 drafts in it, but when I click on the box, there is only one file shown (long sent).
I am getting to where I don’t trust Mail. You would think Apple could get a mail client working right, but it has been years and they still don’t know how to make a decent mail client.

on Friday, my iPnone 4S will no longer allow me to access my yahoo account. I reset the password. and reset it in the settings and srill can not access. My AppleCare has expired. The phone itself was replaced just a few months ago due to battery life failure. now, i hace a new device and no way to troubleshoo and rcorrect issue> I am looking for: A) How tp get help from Apple without paying, since the devise itself is new; B) Find out what to do from this communities experience without causing further damage to the account or the phone itself. I should note that yaboo mail CAN still be accessed through the PC, so i assume it is an issue with the settings for the yahoo account or the actual;server access through this partucular iPhone. PLEASE HELP! PC is getting ready to crash!!

You could also delete the Yahoo email account from your phone then add the account back in. That will redo all the settings for the account. Sometimes that is easier than going through all the settings.

When give username and password to yahoo mail, it tells 404 not found

I am getting a 404 Not Found error when I try to access Yahoo Mail from Firefox. I can log in but Yahoo Mail will not open. It will open in IE. The problem is here at home.

I get "application not found" when clicking on a http link in a mail, even after having set firefox as the default program for http links.

After installing firefox 15.0, I can not open links form email or other office 2010 applications. I get "application not found" error. I tried setting firefox as the default program both manually (in the Windows default program panel) and automatically (having Firefox to do it automatically on startup (tools->options->advanced->General). I still have the error.

That sounds odd. Is this error coming from a particular e-mail program you're using? It could be that that program has its own settings for which web browser to launch, ignoring the "default browser" setting in Windows.
Does the same thing happen if you click on a web link from any other external (non-browser) application on your computer? If it happens with other apps too, I would suggest to re-download and install Firefox (www.mozilla.org) and see if that takes care of it.
