Mail:  drawer/mail box panel display on right or left?

Hello: Is it possible to switch the mailbox display panel to the right side? In Mail on Panther this was an option, but I can't find a way to switch the mail box panel or drawer over to the right side. Sorry if this is a repeat, I submitted this quesiton this morning and now don't see it on the list for some reason, must have not submitted it properly...
Thanks,
James

No, that function was lost in Tiger, no idea why.

  • Tigerv MaIl box positioning -want to change from left to right

    Hi,
    I have just installed Tiger and have come up with problem trying to position the mail boxes wibdow on the right of the main mail window
    In Panther I could do this. I want to position my mail boxes window to the right side of the main IN box window.
    Please tell me how to do this as I can't figure it out
    Thanks in advance
    Ranjit

    This was a change with Tiger Mail. The mailboxes drawer is fixed to the left side (you can widen or narrow it) but you cannot position it on the right side of the message list window.
    Some have assumed it was to match the Finder sidebar, the iPhoto Library and albums and iTunes music and playlist all being on the left.

  • Arabic Smartform - Display text right to left?

    I have been asked to investigate how to create some smartforms which will display the Arabic language reading right to left.
    I know how to create a smartform for different languages but I'm stuck on the right to left formatting.  It's not a case of just right justifying all the text, the words have to be displayed reading right to left.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks but I've just found out this is not the requirement.

  • Changing form display to right to left

    Hi all
    i've created a UDO form thourgh the UDO Form Generator. problem is i want the contols to appear from right to left instead of left to right.
    do i have to set the controls manuly through the xml file. or is there another way.
    i tried using screen painter but than the file loses its hierarchy display and becomes one long string which is unreadable.
    appreciate the help

    Hi
    I'm not sure what you exactly what you mean from right to left.  Do you mean the tab order, or do you mean the justifying of text.  Or the labels on the right perhaps ?

  • Smart Mail Box that contains messages not in any other smart mail box

    Hi,
    Hopefully the subject says it all. Is it possible to create a smart mail box that display messages NOT IN any other smart mail box?
    James.

    In Mail, create a new Smart Mailbox. Make sure the matching is set to "all".
    In the conditions, you will notice that if you choose "Message is not in Mailbox" does not list the other Smart Mailboxes. It doesn't on mine at least. However, if you choose "Message is in Mailbox" it DOES list the Smart Mailboxes. So here's what you need to do:
    Create a condition for each Smart Mailbox you have, and choose the "Message is in Mailbox" and choose each Smart Mailbox. Once you have them listed, go back and change each of the conditions to "Message is not in Mailbox". It still accepts the Smart Mailbox name.
    I tried it and it works on my system. Give it a go.

  • Reliably calculating character bounds for Right-To-Left languages using flash.text.engine.* classes?

    I just filed a bug in the Adobe bugbase about this, but I thought maybe the community could help with a workaround (or point me in another direction if I'm looking at it wrong).
    I don't know an elegant way to describe the defect, but it's something like this:
    Create a Vector of ContentElements and add a TextElement containing a right-to-left string in a language such as Hindi (ex. "वह बाग़ में दोपहर का खाना ")
    Create a TextBlock with a GroupElement and use it to create a TextLine to display the right-to-left string
    Walk through each character in the right-to-left string and try to calculate its boundaries using the TextLine's "getAtomBounds" method.
    What I'm seeing in my test project is that the number of characters (atoms?) the TextLine reports is fewer than the number of characters that were in the original string. I was under the impression that TextLine would offer some method of automatically converting from a logical character index into a display index (to keep things simpler for the end user). That doesn't seem to be the case, and I don't see any way to use TextLine's methods to do that conversion.
    Am I overlooking something obvious?

    Update: I was missing something obvious!
    It seems like TextLine's getAtomTextBlockBeginIndex and getAtomTextBlockEndIndex methods were exactly what I was looking for. It just took me a while to find them and realize that. So to convert from a logical (unicode) character index to a display (atom) index, you can do this...
    private function getCharBounds( charIndex:int ):Rectangle {
         for ( var childIndex:int = 0; childIndex < textContainer.numChildren; childIndex++ ) {
              var textLine:TextLine = textContainer.getChildAt( childIndex ) as TextLine;
              for ( var atomIndex:int = 0; atomIndex < textLine.atomCount; atomIndex++ ) {
                   var charIndexRangeStart:int = textLine.getAtomTextBlockBeginIndex( atomIndex );
                   var charIndexRangeStop:int = textLine.getAtomTextBlockEndIndex( atomIndex );
                   if ( charIndex >= charIndexRangeStart && charIndex <= charIndexRangeStop ) {
                        var rectangle:Rectangle =
                             textLine.getAtomBounds(
                                  atomIndex );
                        var point:Point =
                             textContainer.globalToLocal(
                                  textLine.localToGlobal(
                                       new Point( rectangle.x, rectangle.y ) ) );
                        rectangle.x = point.x;
                        rectangle.y = point.y;
                        return rectangle;
         return null;

  • Switching mail box drawer to the right side of Mail window

    Is it possible to switch which side the mail box drawer opens. In Panther Mail, this would switch automatically depending on where the Mail viewer window was placed on the computer screen. In Tiger, Mail does not switch and I have been unable to find an option to change the mail box drawer to the right side instead of the left. Anyone out there know the answer to this question? This is my third post on this topic with no response yet.... Thanks

    James,
    Sorry to hear that this is your third post for this question.
    Perhaps because no one wanted to be the bearer of bad news.
    The default left side behavior is fixed, and the only choice you have is to display or not display the mailboxes.
    Provide OS X Feedback and express your need/desire for that feature.
    ;~)

    There is a bug in Mail triggered by receiving a password-protected PDF as an attachment. According to reports, the bug is fixed in OS X 10.8.5.

  • Business Workplace Inbox : Mail Content Not Displayed

    Friends,
    We have a problem in displaying contents of the mail(SAP Inbox) in one of the PC's. When we reply w/refernce to that message the content is displayed properly. And also the same mail content is displayed properly in another PC's for the same user.
    We thought this is a GUI problem and re-installed SAP GUI(all components) but still the issue exists.
    Any other settings are required to be done to solve this problem? Can anyone please help us solving the issue?
    Note: we are using SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 for creating the mail notification and the content is passed as 'RAW'.
    Thank you very much for your help and suggestions.
    Cheers,
    MS

    Srinivas,
    1) Is the problem only with the message being sent through custom code using SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1? What happens if you send a message using SAPOffice?
    2) Are the patch levels of the GUI same on both machines? Are you sure both PCs are configured exactly the same? Especially wrt to Windows & IE patches. I vaguely remember there were some issues a while ago with some IE patches. Normally in most client environments the desktops upgrades are controlled centrally and users do not have admin rights. Make sure the user has not done upgrades/installs on the PC in question. If that were the case the PC may needs to be reimaged.
    BTW - What version  are you on R/3 and SAPGUI?

  • How can you get the mail boxes in yahoo onto the e.mail app

    How can you get your yahoo mail boxes onto the e.mail app on an IPad mini?

    Go to the Settings App
    Pick Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    On the right side you'll see under the Mail section "Add Account”
    Pick that and fill out the requested information

  • Mail will not display, screen returns to home screen when I try.

    MMail will not display or load up.  When I enter the mail icon it instantly returns to the home screen.  Therefor mail will not display or show.

    The Mail App is crashing on you. You might have a corrupt email, a spam email or an email with a very large attachment that is causing the crash. It could also be a corrupt setting. It's difficult to know that it could be. If you have a computer, log into your email account in a web browser and look for any problematic emails and try deleting them there.
    Try closing the mail app completely on the iPad, reset the device and then try mail again.
    In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
    Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • How could I re-open my mail box with error message :The last time you opened Mail, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?

    How could I re-open my mail box, as an error message blocked "The last time you opened Mail, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?" Even I entered re-open, the airbook does not response but prompt the same error message again.

    Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folders. In OS X 10.9 there are two sandboxes, while in 10.8 there is only one. If you're running a version older than 10.8, this comment isn't applicable.
    Back up all data.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
    Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
    from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
    Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent
    Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
    *If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Transferring mail boxes

    Just bought my wife a 2008 Macbook Pro. We have an Imac desktop and both are running the latest version of Snow Leopard. In Mac Mail my wife has several mail boxes under on my mac. How do I transfer the mail boxes from the desktop to the Macbook?

    ray1425 wrote:
    How do you export the mailboxes as archives?
    Right click on the mailbox, chose "Archive mailbox" option, chose appropriate destination eg desktop. A .mbox will be produced for the mailbox. Repeat for all mail boxes. Move them across to the MacBook Pro desktop.
    On the MBP chose File/Import mailboxes. Chose the "Files in mbox" option and navigate to the mbox files on your desktop. You will need to repeat for each (not completely sure about this.....you might be able to import more than one at a time)
    After importing, the imported mailboxes will probably be in a subfolder called Imports or Imported. You can drag them out here to be at the next level up or whatever you want.
