Mail feature question

Quick queston about receiving mail through the iPhone. I am a student with a college email address that ends with "luc.edu" I don't know much about the mail feature yet, but will I be able to program the iPhone to allow me to receive mail from my student email address or will I only be allowed to use yahoo, gmail and aol? Thanks in advance.

Follow this guide to see if your email address will work on the iPhone.
I hope this helps you.

  • Mail feature in NetStorage grey

    Hi all
I'm doing some tests with NetStorage on OES for Linux and everything works as expected so far, except...
When I right click a file in NetStorage there is an item "Mail...", but it's grey. How can I enable this feature?
    Thanks
    Patric

    Hi
    I checked your suggestions today:
    - Yes I only tried with Firefox installed on SLES10. I will give IE a try.
    Same problem with IE 6
    - Yes, I have a GWIA available and will try to point the smtp server configuration to this host
    Didn't help:-(
    - The hint with the ecma.js* files sounds very interesting!
The file has been changed at Jun 18 2008, so I don't think that the file has been altered. All the other files were also last changed in 2008.
Nevertheless with the tip above I managed to remove the menu item completely (I edited the file menucfg.js). As the mail feature is not so important for us, this works for me. As the feature is not visible for the users, they don't ask me the "why does it not work" question...
But still a weird problem, as this is a clean installation. There must be a small thing that I do differently from the rest of the OES users...
    Thanks a lot
    Patric

  • Where can i make a suggestion for a mail feature on a future update?

I was looking for somewhere to make a suggestion for a future mail feature on the iphone, but couldn't find a place to do it.
It would be useful to be able to set mail fetching as manual in the evening and timed during the working day so my evenings aren't disturbed by work emails.
What do you reckon Apple? A feature for the next iOS update?

    http://www.apple.com/feedback
You are not addressing Apple here.
You can turn off the mail notification sound each night if you like.

Topic area: Apple Mail.  Question:  How do I get the message preview window to display to the right of my list of email messages? i.e. to preview whatever message is currently highlighted in the center window list of messages?

At present there is no preference option available to move the preview
pane to right side of the mail window.
    Best.

  • My IPhone 4's mailing feature does not display the toolbar at the bottom for deleting, moving, or writing emails. What is wrong with it?

My work recently decided to buy every full time employee an IPhone 4 to be used for work purposes. (I do suspect these are refurbished, but I don't think that matters) I have had no trouble with it, except for on occasion the mailing feature does not display the toolbar at the bottom for deleting, moving, or writing emails. You know what I'm talking about...that bar at the bottom of the mailbox when you open an email that you use to delete, respond, forward, move, etc. It just goes away for no reason, and then reappears for a day or two, and goes away again. It is quite annoying since I can't respond to any of my emails without getting on my work computer. If you have any suggestions, please help!

    Hi there,
You may need to force close the Mail application when this happens. The next time this happens, use the steps in the article below to coles out of the mail application.

  • "open links behind mail" feature doesn't work

Since migrating to Yosemite, I can no longer  use "open links behind mail" feature.
The links do open directly to Safari or Chrome on top of mail.
But the "Open links behind mail" won't launch, regardless if the browser is open or not. I see it, it clicks, but nada... nothing ;-(
This feature always worked before migrating to Yosemite.
    Any suggestions?

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • I like the mail feature with one exception; I cannot figure out how to change the font size of incoming mail permanently.  And, when answering an email I have to highlight the first few words and zoom it so I can see what I am writing.  what am I missing?

I like the mail feature with one exception; I cannot figure out how to change the font size of incoming mail permanently.  And, when answering an email I have to highlight the first few words and zoom it so I can see what I am writing.  what am I missing?

You can type the email using what you set in preferences and then highlight the text and use command - minus sign (or command - + for larger) to reduce the size of the text.
You can also type command - T and a window will appear allowing you to select fonts/sizes/color/ background highlight.
The above works in Notes also. I haven't tried to do this in any other Apple application.
For incoming emails, you can use the above to reduce font size, but I don't know of a way to permanently set the incoming font size to a default.

  • Show more text on the featured question box

I made some featured questions for the Power BI site using Power BI Q&A but I can't get the box (small or large) to show the whole text.  It is truncated before the where clause which is the important part to see when choosing which featured
question you would like to see!  Is there a way to get it to display the whole text, or would I have to make my own way of displaying the options, then add the functionality by using the link instead?

I did find a way to put the "where clause" a little higher in the text.
    Instead of:
Show community, total unique members, where community category is Technical
    I phrased it this way:
Show Technical community category, community, total unique members
and the bold is what shows on the featured question tile on the main page.

  • Can you use IMAP with the ipads mail feature?

Can you use IMAP with the ipads mail feature?

    Kappy,
Yes, our domain and email accounts are on a server that does accept IMAP. Also, our mac mini and imacs are all set up for IMAP. Buying an ipad will enable me to work from home during this winter.
Another ?: do you know if you can use text edit with the iPads mail feature? Reason being we have about 100 generic emails that all we have to do is change a few fields before sending out. Can this be integrated in without having to recreate all these messages?

  • Mail Features?

Wondering how Mail works in Lion.
How does the type to find feature work?  Is it improved from Snow Leopard?
E.g. If you type Da, does it find the first message that is from Da...?  If you do this again, what does it do?
If you then type in Mi, does it find the first message from Mi... or does it do some random thing?
    How about these:
    1. Hyperlinks that work when you type them in, or in threads of threaded messages.
    2.  'send again' that allows you to duplicate the message before it's sent, thus making it easier to send multiple copies of the same message to different people.
    3. A better task progress window and ability to kill a message that is waiting to be sent more easily.
    4. Better attachment management.
    5. Better identification of potential phishing links.
    6. Simpler keyboard shortcuts
    Thanks,
    Dave

The search function lists all the things it finds with the search term in it. It categorizes them in groups like People, Subjects, Mailboxes, etc. Here are Mails features: http://www.apple.com/macosx/whats-new/mail.html
If you then immediately type Mi after Da, it will find anything with DaMi in it.
    1. Hyperlinks that work when you type them in, or in threads of threaded messages.
    No.
    2.  'send again' that allows you to duplicate the message before it's sent, thus making it easier to send multiple copies of the same message to different people.
The message appears to look exactly like the one I sent previously. I don't know what it did before.
    3. I've never needed to kill a message, so I don't know.
    4. Better than what?
    5. Don't know
    6. Simpler than what?

  • Photoshop Elements 'Photo Mail' feature

I recently received an email created with Photoshop Elements 'Photo Mail' feature
The presentation of the photos was very attractive.
I have CS4 which does not include Photo Mail.
Anyone have a suggestion as to how Photo Mail can be duplicated in CS4?
    Thanks
    Bob

That feature is for people who don't understand images or email or both.
Why would a professional program like Photoshop include it?

  • New Lightroom 4 mail feature does not work with Hotmail

    Hi,
I have tested the new mail feature today.  Unfortunatelly, it does not work well with my hotmail account.
The mail is send by lightroom and received in my hotmail mailbox, but the photo is not visible.  The tekst in the messages is readable, but instead of the downloaded photoI only see a red cross.
Anyone an idea what the reason is ?
    thanks
    Rudy

    Hi Stone Pan,
    Thanks for answering.
I do not see any error message and the received mail contains a correct text message, only the picture is not visible in the mail.  I tried to send a Photo with the email preset on small and normal but without success.
    Kind regards,
    Rudy
    Edit :
I have tried to send a photo to the hotmail email adress of a friend and it works, text and photo are visible.  Conclusion is that the reason for not showing the photo is not a Lightroom 4 problem.  The reason should be something on my own computer, any suggestions are welcome.

  • Mail Feature on iTouch

I have an 8GB itouch and just noticed that the mail feature should be an icon and program on it, how do I get that feature, is there an update?

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
There is an update with five applications (Mail, Weather, Stocks, Notes and Google Maps) as well as the ability to save web-links to the home screens (now up to nine home screens) and re-arrange icons in the dock and home screens.
If you bought your +iPod touch+ before 16 Jan then the update costs $20 available on the iTunes Store once you've updated to iTunes 7.6 and the iPod touch firmware to 1.1.3.
If you've bought a new +iPod touch+ recently then these should have been included or you should have had a $20 discount. Contact the retailer if this wasn't the case.
    cheers
