Mail files are gone gone gone

Its gone. everything. Yesterday I kept getting the dreaded triangle that said I could not go on line to get my email (I monitor 4 different accounts) and it kept trying to use mobileme to access all my accounts instead of my usual accounts. So after rebooting and rebooting and leaving it off all night, I turned it on this morning and everything is GONE. It logs into my mobileme account (which we never use and will let expire in two days) and all my accounts, their emails, the folders, everything is gone. Can somebody tell me where it might be? There is absolutely nothing in my email "preference" tab other than this stupid mobileme information and one lousy email from mobile me that says "reminder, your account will expire in 2 days"

Well I managed to find that all the storage of the mailboxes was there but shoved to the side by this mobile me thing. I deleted the mobile me account information from my mail preferences and see that all my old email account incoming and outgoing stuff was erased. Pain as also all my signature info blocks are wiped clean as well (and I have them in two languages depending on who I am writing to and from which account). A lot of work for a simple glitch. But I was more worried about the previous files. Once I deleted the mobileme account from the email preferrences, the other files showed up under the tab ON MY MAC which I couldn't access before with the mobileme account present.
As for Time Machine, I have tried to use it before and it keeps telling me there is an error and fails so I gave up working with it. Everytime I clicked on the app file, it went into the set up mode, asked me if I wanted to turn it on, then went into error. I get frustrated extremely easily as anyone can tell from my other posts. Right now the time machine icon in the tool bar has the "!" in the center so I know it has failed again as the message is the same one I have had since I got this new machine.
But to this topic of my email, I did manage to find it and it thankfully wasn't completely wiped clean, thank you very much for your direction. I just have to reenter all my email account information all over again including my incoming mail sounds.

Deleted files are not actually gone and still appear in iPod outside iTunes

I have a 60 GB Video iPod: When I deleted around 70 Podcast files (mp4) from my iPod using the new iTunes (7.0) they weren't actually deleted. In iTunes it reads that the mp4s no longer exist, but when I disconnect my iPod from the computer the mp4s are still availble on the iPod to play (they were never actually deleted). And how do I delete them for sure? Any help would be much appreciated.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Transferred files are lost

I transferred my files from my ipod to itunes on my computer. The files are now completely GONE from my ipod and are nowhere to be found on my computer. Where might they be?
A secondary (but mostly likely) problem is that my husband's account was also authorized for use on this computer. I DEAUTHORIZED him but still only see his downloads/purchases and none of mine. How do I get my itunes library to show up -- it seems it won't transfer in in any way. Do I need to completely uninstall itunes and reinstall it in order to get rid of his stuff and load mine?
And in the meantime - which leads me back to my first question -- how the heck can I get my "transferred" files back?

Well, I did two functions that save and read the revision number of the VI file into the summary properties of the file. As everybody knows you can see the summary properties by clicking the file with the right button of the mouse and selecting the properties option menu, then selecting the summary tabs. Be carefull, before using the functions I did you have to download the DSOFile ActiveX control that is necessary to do the work.
Specifically I save the revision of a VI into the comments field of the summary properties. This because you can't access to every properties in a write mode.

Cannot find MAIL files on the HD

I'd like to back up all my emails. According to 'help', this is to be found on HD = Library. But MAIL files are not there. Tried a search under MAIL and although dozens of files come up, not the ones want. HELP! Where is all the data stored?

Each users Mail files from Mail.app are stored in the Library folder in their Home directory. Open a window in the Finder and click on the icon on the left that looks like a house. This is your Home directory. Look inside the Library folder located here and you should see a folder named Mail.
That's the one you want to back up.

1. Yes, if both drives are formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
2. Reformat the drives if needed, open the Time Machine pane of System Preferences, and remove the drive with the pictures from the list of items set to be excluded.

I have had this problem with Windows 7 and iTunes updates for some time. Each time it takes hours to solve but with the over the air upgrade to IOS6 on my iPhone and iPad, I was determined to solve and remember what I did, So here it is:

External hard drive, restore problem! Files are gone...?

All the files are gone... but the folders are still there.
Here is what happened:
Step 1
I restored everything from main HD (two disk striped RAID) to external hard disk (Western Digital MyBook 1TB ). The external disk was mac formated (Mac OS Extended - Journaled). Everything went just fine.
Step 2
I boot the computer from the exernal drive. That also went just fine.
Step 3
I create a new bigger RAID set from 4 internal disks.
Step 4
Restoring then from external drive (now the boot volume) to the new internal RAID set went horribly wrong! Restoration had stopped at some point during the night and resulted weird issues.
Trying to boot the machine didn't work...
Trying to boot from external drive didn't work...
Trying to boot with option key down I got an HD icon called "EFI boot") which did not work...
So, I connected the external drive to a different mac (also leopard 10.5.7) and all the restored files copied in step 1 were gone! All the folders were still in place but files like images and stuff totally gone. Get info from the drive gives also around 930 Gb of free space... So they don't waste any space either.
What happened? How can I get my files back? Somehow I don't think they are deleted for good...
I already tried repairing with Disk utility and Disk Warrior and installing the latest drivers from WD website...
PS. Sorry for the language issues. English is not the native one for me...

I've used time machine in the past and couldn't get to the bottom of the problem so I've recently downloaded and am using carbon copy cloner and I get the same problem. The files that are missing are just word and number documents. Seems so odd.

Can you locate the iTunes Library.itl file on the old drive? Ideally you would have simply copied over the entire iTunes folder structure from <User's Music> on the old computer into <User's Music> on the new one to transfer the library will all playlists, ratings, play counts etc. intact.

MY BB Z10 was Unable to Boot after Many Attempts-soon after my files are all gone!!!

I'll always been a BB user since then, even if my Siblings are asking me why??(They are iPhone Users) Until last week, my BB Z10 wasn't be able to boot in its normal boot time. I tried and tried so many times, read the other helpful tips from the internet but i couldn't find the solution. I bought my Z10 only last March of 2013. I am not a hard user of my BB because my field of work are not allowed to used the phone while at work. We can but i choose not to, unless breaktime.
Let me get back again to the main issue, my sister let me used her iPhone for 5 days then today i decided to try again to reboot my mobile. I was so determined to do so. I follow the link below.

then, really my mobile works once again, BUT i was so dissapointed that doing it so will also wipe out all my messages, phonebooks, images, documents, and videos WHICH are all important and memorable to me. 3. Why it takes sometime to reboot?
4. Why it happens to BB z10? I mean, why when you were restarting or rebooting it will take like 24 hours but still on its 99%, and freeze on that level? so we dont have choice but to press again the start button and start the process again.
Please I wish BB support group can help me on this, all those files are important to me, those captured moments that we cannot repeated again family videos and many more are all gone.... really it was the most saddest day of my life...

Use Lion Recovery to repair the startup disk and reinstall the Mac OS X if necessary.
Lion Recovery can also help you restore your files from a Time Machine backup.

Recorded audio files are gone after power outage during a concert

Hello together,
yesterday I used Logic Pro X to record a concert at our school. I had connected my MacBook Air to our mixer via FireWire, and everything went fine until two minutes before the concert's ending, the power went out. My MacBook was still working from battery, however, Logic Pro stopped recording and all recorded files except for one audio file are gone. I have already tried to recover the lost data by using a data recovery app, but it didn't find anything.
Is there a way to recover the lost recordings? I mean, Logic must have written its audio files to the hard drive somewhere and even when everything crashed, I don't think the files got overwritten with zeros or something else that could have destroyed it...

Working on a Mac Book Pro OS 10.7.3
Missing files: pictures, photos, documents (written files)
All in the map documents; aliases on the desktop
The desktop was rebuild too, not the same anymore and all aliases gone.

I suspect you didn't back up your data before the update - that would have been your first insurance. At the least, you could have saved your most important documents. I realize you probably don't want to hear that, but it's a good way to avoid problems.
It would be great to get a few answers:
1. What did you update? Was it a software update, a firmware update, or something else?
2. Do you use external drives? Or is it just the HD on your MBP?
3. Why did you "rebuild" the desktop?
Provide as much detail as you can.
