Mail folder not displaying correctly on iPad

I have moved old mail (more than one month old) from my inbox to another email folder. If I move mail that is less than one month old it appears in the new folder as expected, but if I move mail that is more than one month old it does not appear. If I log onto my Live account via my laptop I see that is it definitely in the new folder but it does not appear in the folder when viewed via the iPad. On my laptop I then moved  the mail back to my inbox and then moved it to the new folder on my ipad again. IT DOES NOW SHOW. It seems that moving any mail items that have not had any activity on them for more than a month will not successfully display on the iPad.? Anyone else have this problem?

Creating iBooks (EPUBs)
There’s no denying that the Apple iPad is a popular and successful product. One of the things I was most intrigued by was the format that Apple chose for their eBooks (iBooks). The good news is that they went with the industry standard EPUB format, and the even better news is that InDesign exports EPUBs natively. I created my first iBook for iPad using InDesign CS5. Let’s take a look at the workflow.

  • Scientific fluorescence figures are not displayed correctly on iPad

I use the iPad 1 for reading scientific papers, and I figured out that some fluorescence figures are not displayed correctly. The colours are not correctly distinguished, even some colours are completely missing. Is this a limitation of the iPad display or the current version of iOS.
I am really disappointed. So, is there any solution?
    Many thanks.

  • Recurring calendar entries synced with exchange do not display correctly on ipad

    Hi
I have just bought a new ipad2. It is full updated to IOS version 4.3.2
I have set it up to sync with my Exchange Server Outlook account
Any calandar entries that I have in outlook that are "all day" and recurring (eg birthdays) display correctly in Outlook, but on the ipad they display over 2 days - the correct day and the following day. For some reason the "all day" setting is getting them to span midnight
Any ideas how to fix this?
    Thanks

I've seen issues with all day appointments over the years.  It seems to me that the  recommendation Microsoft makes is not to schedule all day appointments, rather block out a time say 9-5 or whatever ....you might also look at your time zone setup and see if there is anything weird  there....sometimes if time zone are not setup right, the all day appointment shows up as partially in the next day...

  • PDF/A files not displaying correctly on iPad

    Hi there
I am creating a PDF/A document that is a compilation of a bunch of MS Word and PDF documents, which will be primarily viewed on iPad. I'm using DocsCorp pdfDocs on my computer (a PC) to compile them together, and saving as PDF/A to ensure no font problems. However, it's still not displaying properly on the iPad. Some of the pages are missing blocks of text and images. Some of the lines of text just look like black lines across the page, and there are some pages that have big black patches where text used to be.
Does anyone know what else I can do to make my PDF/A document display correctly on an iPad?
    Thanks!

  • Icon in Apps folder not displaying correctly

    Hi there,
It seems that whenever I download and install a new program into my Applications folder, the icon appears incorrectly in Grid View. For example, I just downloaded a program called Dragster, installed it and dragged it into my Applications folder. However now, when I click on 'Applications' on the dock, the icon for Dragster is white with a circle and line through it (similar to a non-smoking type of sign).
If I drag the icon to the Desktop and then back into Applications again, the icon appears as normal - the correct icon for that folder. Why does this happen? Why does the icon display incorrectly when I drag the program directly to my Applications folder... this is what I am supposed to do isn't it (am a reasonably new mac user)?
    Thanks in advance.
    Nicola
P.S. I have posted this question previously but unfortunately didn't find an answer :o(

Finder attributes are stored in an invisible file called .DS_Store, which gets created in every folder opened in Finder. I can't explain why it works the second time you drag it there and not the first time. But you might try deleting that file.
You can do this using Terminal commands. If you are not a Unix guru, you can download a great free utility called TinkerTool.
    http://www.bresink.de/osx/TinkerTool.html
On the program's Finder screen, check the box to show hidden files, then relaunch Finder. Locate the .DS_Store file in the Applications folder and drag it to the Trash to delete. Relaunch Finder again. See of the problem still recurs.

  • Xcode 3.2 - ipad - xib not displayed correctly in ipad simulator

I have a simple test xib with some a text box, a button, a label and a date time picker. They are all arranged in a vertical column at the top left of the view.
    When I run xcode :
All I see is the label!!
Moreover the label shows up in the middle of the simulator window.
When I open the XIB in IB and hit cmd+R :
    Everything shows up correctly!
Why can I not see the xib correctly in xcode?
    my configuration:
    xcode 3.2
    base sdk ios device 3.2
    ios deployment target 3.2
    ipad simulator 3.2
    target device family : ipad
I hope someone can help with this!

    Yes I did.
It was a mistake on my part. The File Owner 'view' outlet was not set. Setting that fixed the problem.

  • Mail attachments not displaying correctly

    Hi all,
I did a search about this but didn't find anything.
The problem I am having is when I attach a pdf that I made with Illustrator, the pdf will sometimes show up wrong (all black, missing parts of the art, wrong colors, etc) in my message before I send it.
These are proofs that I'm sending to customers and so far, I haven't gotten any complaints. If I open the attachment in Acrobat, it looks fine. Sometimes if I open it in preview or coverflow though, I get the same issue that I see in Mail when I attach it to send.
This only seems to happen with pdf files so far and didn't used to happen. (I'm not sure exactly when it started, probably some time in the last 2-3 months)
Does anyone have any ideas what might be happening?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply Bob.
When I make a pdf in Illustrator, I do a save as and save a pdf that can be read back into Illustrator. (Illustrator Default with compatibility save to Acrobat 6 (PDF 1.5) I have to do it this way to ensure that my files can be read without any issues by printing plate makers once the proof is approved.
I've been saving files this way for the last 3+ years and never had a problem before now.
It is just a cosmetic issue on my end, but I would like to be able to see the pdf accurately before I send it like I used to be able to do.
I've got one customer who uses Preview for pdf's, but they haven't had any issues so far. They also use an older version of Preview (I think they are still running 10.4 or 10.5)
Its good to know the file isn't getting messed up, but I'd like it to work the way it should.
    Any other thoughts?

  • PDF's in Mail and Preview not displaying correctly

Ever since upgrading to Yosemite PDF's are not displaying correctly. Every time i generate a PDF of a sales quote it seems to lose a lot of information.
    But the strange thing is.....
Preview and Mail both show PDF with missing text.
When I open using "Quick Look Attachment" within Mail or Adobe Acrobat it looks perfect.
When emailed, recipients (mostly Windows users) seem to have no problem opening it and seeing all text.
So far seen that issue is only in Preview and Mail
Only has happened since upgrading to Yosemite
PDF is created using web based ZOHO CRM to build quotes.
See image below to see the difference in what Mail and Preview sees compared with how other apps open the same PDF.
NOTE: sensitive info has been purposely blurred on image.

Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

I have an Annotated PDF from Preview will not display annotations in iPad mail, yet, it will display them on my Macbook Air. I confirmed this with another iPad user. Same results. Any ideas.

I had the same issue. iAnnotate PDF will display your annotations made in preview and allow you to annotate on the iPad. It is a great app, I and quite happy with it.

If you think you're insane now, try maintaining those pop up menus.
As far as I know, these menus have not been updated since FW 8, so
they are at least two versions old.
Save yourself a lot of grief by avoiding those menus. There are many
other products on the market which do a much better job of creating
and maintaining this type of navigation structure.
Read this link before you climb any higher on this slippery slope:
    http://apptools.com/rants/jsmenu.php
There was another blog post by the fellow who originally wrote the pop
up menu feature, but I can't seem to locate it. Even he says stay away
    from them.
Not the answer you probably want, but I hope it helps, nonetheless.

  • Websites not displayed correctly

    Hi,
since i updated to Safari 6.0.2, many websites are not displayed correctly anymore. instead of pictures i see a blue question mark, sometimes the whoe layout is a mess. this concerns multiple websites, alse like facebook or youtube. when i refresh, it mostly orks, so i think it´s not a plugin-issue
Curiously, also in Mail, some Emails are not displayed correctly.
Thank´s for any suggestions or ideas how to solve that.
    Christoph

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Copy or drag — do not type — the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.) You can omit the final line ending in “$”.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|edu\.mit|org\.(amavis|apache|cups|isc|ntp|postfix|x)/{print $3}'
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|edu\.mit|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null
Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' 2> /dev/null
Remember, steps 1-5 are all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • Email not displaying correctly

Hello, sometimes my incoming or outcoming emails are not displaying correctly. They look like code, then i selectanother email and then select back the message and disolays perfect.
Some people told me my emails werenot displaying normal.
Something wromg with the iphone os 3.1.3?

Some people told me my emails werenot displaying normal.
For anyone to help, you would need to provide details about what language you were using and exactly what was being used at the other end to read your emails, and exactly what was not "normal" about their display. When you have that, best to tell Apple here, since there is little you can do yourself to change how Mail behaves.
