Mail for Exchange data store

When i try to set it to save to my micro rd it says server busy.

Hi E52_new_user
Not got an E52 in front of me but concerning storing messages on memory card what about open the Messaging application press Options, and scroll down to Settings. Now, go all the way down to ‘Other ’, and in there you’ll find the option "Memory in use" to change the storage location.

Thank you in advance for your help.
You can delete first your e-mail account if it's already set up in your phone. You can do a soft reset after deleting it. Soft reset can be done by going to Settings > Restore factory settings > Settings only > Enter the default code. The default code is 12345 unless changed. You can set up again your account after doing the said step.
    Hope this helps.

  • N8 Mail for Exchange – problems with date separato...

key points are highlighted by bold text
    Hi,
I'm using my Nokia N8-00 for one month now and everything works fine except three issues I discovered using Mail for Exchange. Two weeks ago I contacted our domain/mail hoster to set up a MS Exchange account for me.
Setting up the account on my N8-00 worked as expected, but after a detailed look I found some problems concerning the date separator (normally set in the settings of the clock-application) and the synchronizing of anniversaries.
To be sure the sources of the problems are not produced by the server I set up the Mail for Exchange (newest available version of Mail for Exchange via Ovi-Store – 3.00(50)) account on my N82. Comparisons to my N82 are mentioned below.
My first problem with Mail for Exchange on my N8 is that the date separator is switched from . (point) to – (minus) automatically. I'm pretty sure this issue depends on the N8’s Mail for Exchange, cause it only happens in the peak-time (off-peak is set to sync manually). The strange thing is that I cannot trace back this occurrence – it just happens randomly in the peak-period.
On my N82 this problem doesn’t occur. Additionally the support employee at my mail hoster told me he is using an E-Series (Mail for Exchange 2.07) device without having this issue.
Is there a workaround or a fix coming for this issue? Is there anybody else having this issue?
Now coming to the second issue I sustain using Mail for Exchange on the N8-00. Some of my contacts that are synced to my device get the wrong date of birth displayed in the device. Upon contacts where this problem occurs the date of birth is displayed one day earlier than set in Outlook.
I found out that this issue only happens to contacts born prior to 198* (* between 1 to 4 – sorry not sure about the exact date). One example is the date 02.10.1978, which is displayed as 01.10.1978 in my phone. Even if I set up a new test-contact with this date of birth it is displayed wrong in my phone!
But it doesn’t happen to all birthdates prior to 198*. And also on this issue I’m not sure where it’s coming from.
This problem doesn’t happen on my N82 and the E-Series device mentioned above.
Last but not least the third issue which in a way is similar to the one above but doesn’t happen in the contacts application. Birthdays which are automatically entered as all-day-series in the calendar by Outlook aren’t synced to the device as birthday events (as Ovi-Suite does). Sometimes they aren’t even all-day events – they have a starting time at midnight and an end time at midnight the next day.
If I change those events to real all-day-birthday-events in the calendar app of my N8-00 they are synced back to my Outlook one day prior to their real date – sounds familiar, huh?
To be sure these issues are not produced by me in any curious way I made sure that every birthday-event in Outlook is an automatically entered event. Additionally I checked the time zones and the date-separator of Exchange via Outlook Web Access and on my phone – they are both set to GMT +1 and the date is set to dd.mm.yyyy.
What makes me angry is that those issues don’t happen to my older device.
Please help me to fix these problems!
    Greetings
    Lars

I am having ongoing problems with Hotmail and my N8's Mail for Exchange. I have all the latest firmware updates from Nokia, that as I understand it was supposed to fix the problem, it hasn't. I've even done a hard reset on the phone, which lost a ton of stuff that my service provider had installed
Hotmail via MfE works for a couple of days then stops connecting and refuses to update mail or calendar entries, I then delete the account and recreate it and it all works again for a couple of days. I know this isn't a problem with Hotmail as my Nokia 5800 works perfectly with its MfE.
This is spoiling what is otherwise a good phone as it's a main feature for me as I use the calendar in Hotmail to organise my meetings etc.

  • Mail For Exchange - Compatability/Downloads menu i...

    Using N79
    SW 31.002.205.4.
Up until this morning running MfE 2.9.158. Just been offerred 2.9.160 via App.Update. Post install check indicates this has been available for months - why the delay in pushing it through to App.Update?
MfE 2.9.160 still not fixed old issue of being unable to open MfE settings following phone restart - why not? - threads dating back to 1st quarter 2009! but this one explains the issue precisely:
    /t5/Messaging-Email-and-Browsing/Mail-for-Exchange-corrupted/m-p/603626/highlight/true#M21922
It's the only app on my phone that cannot be routinely opened - not good.
Notwithstanding this idiosyncrasy email syncing is more hit than miss but  falls way short of my iPod touch which is 100% rock solid regarding Exchange compatability. Does Nokia want Exchange Server based customers- my guess is not enough. Generally speaking if I notice emails hitting my iPod but not my N79 it's time for a  phone restart.  But that  kills the ability to open MfE settings So it's back to a re-install.
    If the above isn't bad enough Nokia has just made it worse.  This "current" link from the N79 support page is dead;
    http://businesssoftware.nokia.com/mail_for_exchange_downloads.php
and after much dead-ending find that the Ovi Store now contains MfE - no problem with that it makes sense to consolidate. But no mention of N79 being supported by the latest greatest MfE and Ovi only lists 3.0 as supporting FP1 phones - so wht about FP2?
Is my N series phone supported anymore - I've got no idea.
Wake up Nokia it's 2010 not 1990 - we shouldn't have to put  up with this **bleep** in basic functionality.
Judging by lack of action over the past 12 months have no hope Nokia will put this right but that my dear Nokia is how you lose customers to your rivals Apple and RIM. Pull your finger out.

I'm hoping this fix works for me long term and post as is.
Multiple phone calls to Nokia Tier 1 and 2 phone support heavily supplemented by some determined Google searching led me to the following solution.
First off the bad news. To fix the MfE issue requires a hard reset of the device. There's no way around this so resign yourself to it early.
The good news however is you can dramatically reduce the time needed to return your device back to its pre-reset condition by backing up your device using Ovi Suite. Forget to do this and you'll be re-installing your apps one at a time.
My issue was made more difficult because the usual hard re-set code (*#7370 #) would not reset the device i.e. full recovery of phone memory, complete wiping of contacts etc. Ignoring Nokia's advice to return the phone for repair! I turned up an alternative method which achieved the hard re-set I was seeking.
    As follows:
Hold these three keys down - *, 3 and green accept call - whie the phone is off, then power on keeping them depressed until the Nokia logo plays.
On the N79 this involves an usual amount of manual dexterity but nevertheless worked where the re-set code failed. Hopefully this won't be necessary for most users.
Once re-set you will be presented with the Set up menu as per a new phone.
With a fully recovered phone memory you can now restore your earlier backup via Ovi Suite, which for me did 90% of the work needed to get my phone back to its earlier personalised condition. I took the opportunity of checking for any programme updates of essential apps and updated as necessary. Re-installation of Speed Dial settings and permitted Bluetooth devices amongst other items was required but all in all all my data and file structure was faithfully restored first time around.
I am now running MfE 3.0 (actually 2.09.208 - see initial thread posting ) which Nokia support advise is not supported  for the N79 -  given the varying level of advice received I'm prepared to run with my own view that it works fine. If you wish to play safe you should be running 2.9.160.
I have re-booted the phone multiples times over the last two days and on only one occasion (which I'm going to pretend never happened) MfE has been rock solid. In addition Ovi Maps which had stopped opening - and was fundamentally what set me off down the road of a hard re-set - is now working perfectly.
I'm hoping this cures the irritating MfE problem long term pending Nokia sorting out whether they even support the N79 any longer as far as MfE is concerned.
As a sign off I will just say for my purposes the N79 is the best smartphone I've ever owned and supplemented with an iPod Touch is a fantastic work/play combination. If you are allowed tethering on your contract I contend Walking Hot Spot is THE killer app and so confident am I of my choice of phone I've just bought a second N79, at a much reduced price, which I'm going to use as a backup/extension to my existing N79 when it dies and goes to heaven.
Hope this post saves someone else some timeand effort.

  • Mail for Exchange System Error, try again later. F...

my E71 running S60 Mail For Exchange works fine for email, but as soon as we start syncing calendar, we get this error "System Error. Try again later"
i have researched further. The phone log shows the sync falls over on outlook recurring appointments. Some threads suggest the offending appts are those without end dates and adding them will fix it, but this is not correct. Our recurring appointments are created in Maximizer and synced to Outlook. They all have end dates which show in both Maximizer and Outlook.
The log message on phone is: "Failed to store calendar entry in device database". If you google that you come across the link to another thread
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=messaging&thread.id=7858
where it seems that MFE simply does not work properly with Outlook calendar recurring appointments and no solution is offered by Nokia. E71's run Symbian S60 and Mail For Exchange is the Nokia offering, which appears to be a derivative of Roadsync. Both appear to have the same shortcoming. Even the latest MFE version, V2.09.158, contains the problem, as we just upgraded on phone to try for a fix.
We have a fleet of E71's, having reverted to Nokia from Win Mobile devices. We were even looking forward to N97's, but we are now planning to move back to a Windows Mobile device. At least we can see the calendar on these!
For now, we have to remove calendar syncing on phone and delete all calendar entries, so the phone again syncs for email and contacts.
Nokia, how about a FIX before your new generation of "Smart Phones" are consigned to the wastebin? Please don't just tell us to change a setting on the server, unless you know it works.
This is your last chance with us. Time is too precious  to waste on dodgey software.

More info on this - the  problem appears to relate to only Outlook 2007 and not XP.

  • Mail for Exchange Thumbnail Support

    Dear MFE team,
Exchange 2007 stores the contact's thumbnail image on the server (confirmed, as I can access it from OWA and see the thumbnail).
Can it be possible to download the thumbnails for contacts when synchronising OTA to Exchange? Given that most people only want to enter data once, having the main repository for such things in Exchange and not on the handset is probably the best option.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I'm also running sbs 2003, and i have managed to get mail for exchange to work properly.
i'm not sure me the exact setting to do with the certificates, but there are plenty of posts about this.
sbs 2003 basically doesn't produce certificates in a recognised format. To solve this problem you need to go to the control panel, add/remove programs, windows components, and add the certificate manager (may not be the exact name), this will allow you to create the correct type me certificate for the phone to recognise.
copy this new certificate to the phone and it should work find.

  • How can I get Mail for Exchange on my 6720 classic...

The manual says that Mail for Exchange is pre-installed. Yet, I cannot find it where the manual tells it's supposed to be. I updated to the latest fimware version a couple of months ago. So I cannot remember whether Mail for Exchange has been pre-installed before. At the OVi Store Mail for Exchange is not available for the 6720c.
How the heck can I get Mail for Exchange on my phone?

The iWork apps for a Mac and for iOS devices are different, they are different operating systems.
If your iPad was activated after 1st September 2013 (and you are using the same account that was used to activate the iPad) then you should be able to download the apps for free in its App Store app. If it was activate before that date (or you are not using the same account) then you will need to pay to download the apps.

  • E6 - Mail for Exchange (Mandatory Server Policy Fa...

I bought my E6 for couple of weeks, and have been having this problem when I tried to setup Mail for Exchange on my company's email account, and got this "Mandatory Server Policy Failed".
Just have Nokia Care reinstall all latest firmware, same problem exists.  My software version is 022.014, version date is 2011-07-05.
I used to have the same setting on C7, E7 and my Android phones for my company's email, all works fine.
    Any solutions for this?

I have been trying to configure Mail for Exchange on Nokia E6-00, but it doesn't work at all. It doesn't ask for auto phone lock option mandatory. Which is asked while configuring Mail for Exchange on Nokia E63, E72 and 5530, 5800 and so on.
Also I have searched Mail for Exchange software on OVi store but it is not available for E6-00. So that I can updated the existing software in my phone.
Can anyone please guide to resolve this issue?
Mail for exchange is perfectly working on my E6-00 for Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo but its not working while I tried to configure my Official email.

  • C6-00 mail for Exchange account consumes a lot of ...

    Hi all,
I'm trying to set up push mail for my gmail account. I have tried RoadSync application and built-in 'Mail for Exchange' account in my phone. While RoadSync after one hour of instance connection consumes about 100kB of transfer built-in account consumes mega bytes of transfer. It activates connection every 10-20 sec and send and receive data. In both cases I didn't receive any new message.
Does anyone of you has the same problem and can explain me why my phone is updating all the time? Push mail suppose to receive data only when new email is on my inbox, not all the time. Do you know how to reduce this data consumption? I don't care if my phone reads a lot of data because I have unlimited Internet but it also takes a lot of battery and that's my major problem.
Thanks in advance for your help
    Regards,
    JaCKubi

I had this same problem with my C6-00 and my older E71. I could not get GMail to successfully syncronise using Nokia Mail for Exchange.
I ended up purchasing another client from the Ovi Store (RoadSync) which works perfectly.
I am not pleased that Nokia's client doesn't work with my service, but the RoadSync client was quite cheap (US$6.60) and hasn't failed me once.

  • Mail for exchange error

Few users have got a problem with m4e (E70), phones stopped synchronizing week or more ago.
Problem is weird, everything works fine until on one day, new mails wont sync anymore. Tried removing and re-creating the profile, re-installing the m4e, resetting phone to factory defaults, and yes phone starts synchronizing, until we get to that weird day: it stops, and newer mails after that spesific time are not synchronized. Calendar syncronizing seems to work fine even after that time/date.
We have many users using the mail for exchange, and everything works fine for most of them. There are only few users who have this problem and all of them have a different date, when this starts to happen.
For those users m4e logs some errors:
    - Mail for exchange error -15005 (this error usually seems to happen before synchronizing stops)
    - Location of the message store changed. Doing full resync.
    - Failed to decode server response.
    - Mail for exchange error -15000
    - HTTP Client Stack Error: Disconnect - Kerrdisconnected
    etc.
Is there any place I could find descriptions for these mysterious error codes. I have been trying to "google", but still can't find a solution for this problem.
Help, anyone? Thanks in advance.Message Edited by cjet on 27-Aug-200711:10 AM

    Hi
My E70 has just started to behave in the same way - one day it was working, then it stopped and hasn't worked since. The following is an extract from the log:
    07/02/2008 15:12:16 start Email sync
07/02/2008 15:12:17 failed to decode server response
    07/02/2008 15:12:17 client->server adds=0 changes=0 deletes=0 fails=0
    07/02/2008 15:12:17 server->client adds=0 changes=0 deletes=0 fails=0
    07/02/2008 15:12:17 end Email sync
07/02/2008 15:12:17 KEASErrSvrSyncFailed - Unable to Process Sync Response.
Others in my company with E70's are not havng a problem. I have re-loaded the FW and M4E, but it still fails to sync e:mail.
    Any ideas?

  • Mail for Exchange/Asha 311 - how to reset

I want to use Mail for Exchange to sync contact data with gmail, as I did on the Nokia 700 (think it was called Active Exchange there). I configured it similarly, and it seemed hung in a loop trying to connect. So I reset it, and then it wouldn't restart. It flashes a screen of data (too fast to read - something about Synchronization service shutdown ... Removing databases .. Application will restart when complete?).  I tried reinstalling over the app from the Nokia store - and get the same results. Rebooted a few times - same thing.
Is there any way to reset this and/or remove the app completely? I really need this to work since syncml doesn't work either.
    Thanks,
    Doug

Then it is getting complicated becuase I never tried alternatives A and B myself:
    A) On a computer with MobiMB, access drive A » Menuapps » Mfe » and delete all files except the JAD and the JAR. More details …
    B) Nokia » Menu » Sync and backup » Create backup (microSD required) » on a computer you extract this ZIP file and remove the Record-Management-Store files (.rms). Reset the whole phone and restore this modfied backup. More details …
    C) With a computer, Nokia Software Recovery Tool
However, I am not sure whether Google still allows new devices for Exchange ActiveSync. Therefore, I do not think that app will ever work for you. Or do you have a ‘Google Apps for Business’ account?

  • E71 - Mail for exchange syncs calendar only partly

I'm pretty new to using the Mail for Exchange (latest version from Ovi) application in my E71, had a 3rd party software that handled pim sync before.
Any how, the company has moved from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange 2010 and in that process migrated data from Notes to Exchange. For some reason the Mail for Exchange application syncs only entrys changed or created in Exchange, older entrys migrated from Notes unchanged wont show up in the handset.
I have verified with handsets from other vendors that this is not an server/active sync error, fore example Apples iPhone will sync every entry. How come, anyone has any ideas?

Go to OVI store on your E71 and download Mail for Exchange.

  • N9 after PR 1.2 update - Mail for Exchange is sync...

I have a problem with my N9 Meego after 1.2 update. I have mail for exchange account talking with exchange 2010 server and sync works just just fine with calendar and e-mail. Contacts on otherhand doens`t work. It says its bringing contact like 78 from mail for exchange but when its done you can`t see any.
i have done my account again many times but still contacts aren`t working. Should I do some hardreset but does that uninstall PR 1.2 update?
Help is needed or any ideas what could be done?
    -mika

Hey mate,  As far as I am aware there is no going back from PR 1.2, so you could try hardreset without concern of loosing this update.  Keep in mind you are likely to lose data, so make sure you back it up first.
I am sure of this, as I have tried to go back to PR 1.1 to get my mail exchange to work and even with trying to flash the device "downgrade disallowed" comes up and prevents me getting rid of the PR 1.2
You are luckier than me, I can't get mail, calender or contacts.  I am so annoyed that I accepted the update.  I am hoping that Nokia take note of this and fix the mail exchange in a new update

  • Mail for Exchange - calendar sync fails

    Hi,
I upgraded recently my N73 with the latest release of the firmware and the latest release of Mail For Exchange.
Before that change, I had no problem to sync my mobile phone with our server Exchange 2007.
Unfortunately, after the upgrades, like many other people of this forum, I cannot succeed in synchronizing my calendar (it seems that my mobile phone is stuck in the endless loop). I've tried the various solutions written in the other posts of this forum but without success (define an end-date of recurring events, no blank event, ...).
Does anyone solved the issue ?
    Thank you in advance !

  • My E52 lost Mail For Exchange after software updat...

After I updated my E52 software the phone seems to have lost it's mail for exchange client. Setting up webbased email accounts like hotmail is no problem (though through Nokia Messaging), but when when I try to setup my work email it just tell me that the unit does not support any more accounts for workrelated e-mails (I don't have any option to choose mail for exchange).
Before the update I had an option to choose to choose mail for exchange and it would ask me for domain and server and everything and it was no problem.
As mail for exchange is supposed to be integrated in the E52 as part of nokias new emailing software (as far as I can read), I am not able to download and install the mail for exchange client separately (and I have tried by the way, but it refuses to install).
Has anybody experienced similar problems after the software update, and/or do you have any solutions?

The Hungarian support told me, that the new Nokia Messenger supports exchange, but only one email. And most probably the system already stored your email that you used before the upgrade. With the upgrade the datas were deleted, and you cannot recall it, or edit it from the web interface (email.nokia.com) but still the system thinks that you already have one (even if I want to use the same one). Therefore you cannot open a new one. The support promised me to delete it maually with system administrators and then I would be free to use it again.
Try this with your local support, perhaps that is the truth.
