Mail for exchange denies connection

Hi
First of all... any help would be highly appreciated.
I have two phones, one is a Nokia N95 and other one is a E65, third one is a WinMO. I am trying to sync my mails over the air.
This works on my WinMO and also on E65. It works on my N95 using Roadsync.
But with Mail for exchange I recieve the following Error
"Access is denied, Account is disabled. Contact your exchange administrator"
Please let me know if there is anything that can be done on N95 to get it to work.
FYI: While configuring M4E on N95 it does not prompt for any lock code. But in E65 it does. Roadsync in N95 also never prompts for lock code, but it works. Pls help
NOKIA: IS IT A DESIGN FLAW...

Tajender

Hi,
Thanks again. However the mail server requires SSL. So there is no use disabling it. When I tried, it was not able to establish a connection even. I am not using any proxies, it is just directly through the access point. No proxies are set up. The problem is with security enforcement on the device. Nokia N series is not compatible with security policies. And majority of people here have N series, even all E series sets are having the same problem except E65's.
Should I try installing Nokia Intellisync Device Management and then try syncing. so if you say yes to that, next question would be, where can I get it?
Thanks and Regards,
Tajender

  • Mail For Exchange and Blackberry Connect

    Hello.
I was a happy user of E61 with latest software update (3.x...) and had both BlackBerry Connect & Mail For Exchange installed.
I got my phone replace due to a hardware error with a new device but there's no way now to install both tools on the device.
Once the first one is installed (no matter which one), the other one dies on install with a cryptic "Update error". No other explanation given. Of course, resetting the phone and reinstalling the software other software works but now the first one exhibits the same behavior.
Anyone had any success in this area?
PS: The main reason I need both is that "Mail For Exchange" reads only my INBOX.

    Update:
after two weeks of boggling, it seems that this combination works:
    - install MailForExchange(2.7.0)_S60_3_0.SISX
    - remove MailForExchange(2.7.0)_S60_3_0.SISX
    - install S60PR2_BlackBerry(6.28.1)_2.SISX first
    - install MailForExchange(2.7.0)_S60_3_0.SISX
But this effectivly kills Blackberry as you only get a "RimAv" icon in the menu

  • Failure to connect to Mail for Exchange on E75

I cannot synchronize my mail for exchange as I get the following error message:
"Server requires secure connection. Change Profile > Connection > Secure connection to Yes."
This path does not exist in the phone menu, however, I have changed through Email > Settings > Mail for Exchange > Mailbox > Advanced Mailbox Settings > Secure Connection to Yes.
Yet it still gives me the same error message above. I have checked all internal settings with my office's IT department and have updated the phones' software and still nothing has changed! Also I have entered port # 443.
I need some assistance please. Thanks.

Hello there - I too have a problem with exchange on my e75. I could not get my first e75 to work with exchange, I managed to download my emails once, then was never able to do it again. My provider sent me a new phone. Last night I wiped the phone and downloaded the latest firmware as for the last 5 days I had no joy with my settings. Eventually I managed to download my emails - hoorah!
Sadly my joy was short-lived - today once again, I cannot download my emails, no error massage, nothing - I try send & receive the twurly-wurly thing in the corner spins, then drops out - same as before.
    Any ideas?

  • No in-office WLAN connection to Mail for Exchange ...

I have installed "Mail for Exchange" on my X6 and am able to connect to exchange server via wifi from home, or in fact most other wifi access points, but not from within my office.
My office setup is a conventional LAN and comprises Draytek wifi router/modem feeding into a 16 port fast switch then distributed to networked PC's including the server running SBS2008/Exch Serv 2007.
I am able to connect, without any trouble, to the internet at large through the WLAN, but just cannot synch to the exchange server.
Any help to get in-office connectivity would be most welcome.

I'm having that very same problem. I can't see a solution to it anywhere. The coinciding entries in the mail for exchange logs are Server Error 501: Not Implemented
    I'm using an N8-00

  • E51: Using Blackberry connect/Mail for Exchange

-If youre "always online," how long till your battery runs out of power? Mine is just 2 days tops!
-Have you experienced no sound alert when you receive emails via Blackberry/Mail for Exchange even though the Profile sound settings are appropriately set? What did you do to resolve?

    You get 2 days???...impressive.
I'm always on from 7am-7pm and if I talk for anymore than 30 minutes during that day I've got charge the phone at 4pm so it will be usable for the night. It is 4 months old and I don't use anything else during the period (no blue tooth, no wifi).
As for the sound alert I get this too. At night when synch is every 30 minutes if I take the e-mail in outlook the phone will pick iot up at synch time and flash the light as a new e-mail, but play no sound.
It sometimes does the same during the always on period. It is not constant so I haven't looked into it much, but I've noticed once it recieves one without sound it won't play a sound again for new e-mails until I unlock the keys and enter MfE..another annoyance.

  • Problem with mail for exchange after update on E72...

    Hi everyone,
I updated Nokia E-mail to ver 3.9 on E72. Now I am facing  a problem with mail for exchange. I have configured gmail on mail for exchange. I recieve a warning that "unable to sync contact administrator if problem persist". It started to pop up just after the update was over and is very frustrating. Even previously i used to recieve mails instantly but now it generally takes half an hour for me to recieve them. I deleted and created mail for exchange several times but to no avail.
Also i am not able to automatically recieve mails other emails which i have configured. every time I have to manually download them everytime.
Can anybody suggest a way out.
    Thanks
    Anil

It could be a problem if you're using your network's connections...
I was on a Pay & Go tariff with o2 some time ago, and needed secure connections for various things, o2 told me they didn't provide secure connections on Pay & Go tariffs...
Could be worth checking with them to make sure it's supported.

  • How to configure Mail for exchange to select autom...

I have an E71 with a corporate Mail for Exchange mailbox, the menu allow me to configure the connection Access point manually only. So, by default I select the G3 cell phone connection, but while I'm at home the nokia E71 onnects to my DSL wifi connection but Mail For Exchange cannot switch automatically to it ?
is there a way to configure that automatically ? switching from low cost connectivity access point automatically when repliacting with the exchange server ?
I'm running with Mail for Exchange version 2.09.158
    Many thanks in advance

There is no default for those entries. you need to set it up manually by using the custom label.

  • C6-00 Mail for Exchange

We have set up a Nokia C6 on Mail for Exchange. Everything seems to be connected properly and when we finish entering in the details it saves them without an error message.
If I click on Mail for Exchange and go into the mailbox I can go into Options and select 'Disconnect' and then if I reconnect it shows as reconnecting but no emails appear.
Nothing has been syncronished at all since setting this up.
I have checked the exchange settings and these are all correct.
    Advice please.

  • E5, Mail for Exchange, GPRS/WiFi roaming

    Hi all,
I'm using Mail for Exchange on a Nokia E5 with the synchronization always enabled. I have the following problem. When I leave my WiFi range, MfE switches from WiFi to GPRS nicely. But when I get back into the WiFi range, the phone stays connected to GPRS until I manually abort the connection. The WiFi access point of course has higher priority. I have tried both standard network Destinations and SmartConnect (with 'On better connectionn' set to 'Disconnect').
Has anyone managed to make Mail for Exchange switch back to WiFi automatically?
    Regards
    Rafał

On your Nokia E5 you'll have to list your preferred connections in a priority list.
    MENU -- CONTROL PANEL -- SETTINGS -- CONNECTION -- DESTINATIONS -- INTERNET
You will find a list of all the wireless access points you've ever connected to, as well as the GPRS/3G profiles you use when you use your cellular airtime/data bundles
Start deleting all the redundant WLANs (Options -- Delete), until you only see your home/office WLAN access point in that list as well as your GPRS/3G
Now place your WLAN access point as the first priority (Options -- Organise -- Change Priority)
Hooray! Now whenever you enter the range of your home/Office WLAN, your Nokia E5 will automatically switch to its highest priority connection and disconnect from the GPRS/3G and vice versa when you leave the WLAN range.

  • Nokia Mail For Exchange on Asha 300 doesn't work w...

I'm hoping someone from Nokia might see this and get your developers to make a tweak to the Nokia Mail For Exchange app for Asha 300 (a S40 phone).
The Microsoft Outlook/Office 365 hosted/cloud-based e-mail service uses usernames in the format [email protected]
Unfortunately the Nokia Mail For Exchange app automatically truncates the Username so as soon as you tap out of the field it becomes just "jane.smith". As a result it fails validation.
This is probably a one line code change which makes perfect sense for users connecting to other variants of Microsoft Exchange, but for those of us on Microsoft's hosted offering it's stopping us getting in.
    Thanks!

  • Mail for Exchange Widget N97mini

    Hi everybody
I have the following problem with Mail for Exchange on my Nokia N97mini :
On the startsite i got that Mail for Exchange Widget, but it only shows my outgoing mails instead of my incoming mails. Can somebody tell me how i make them switch positions?
The Nokia Support tells me i need to Contact the Exchange Admin... unfortunatly thats me, and i found no way to sort these Folders in Exchange.
There is also no way to edit the assorting of the mailboxes in the Nokia N97 menu.
If i connect another Exchange account it works fine.... But in the account of my boss the assorting got mixed up.
Yes all the Exchange accounts are the same... it only differs in some custom folders in Outlook.
Has anybody some ideas to fix that Problem?
Would be nice if you could help out.
    Best regards
    Sven

Mail For Exchange displays wrong folder on widget, if folder names has been localized. See following discussion thread:
    http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/t5/Messaging-Email-and-Browsing/Organize-MfE-folders/m-p/908089 .
This has been planned to fix on next version of Mail for Exchange software.

  • Mail for Exchange and the dreaded 500 error!

    Hi
I've recently got myself a Nokia 5800 and have been trying to get Mail for Exchange working for the past week and a half.
I've read and actioned almost every suggestion that I can find on the web but still no joy!
The jist of the problem is as follows:-
    1. I created my profile which uses a secure connection and attempted to sync but no joy
    2. I downloaded the SSL certificate from our OWA server (provided by Equifax to my phone), tried again, still no joy.
    3. Next I downloaded a PDA emulator and configured activesync on it, after downloading and installing the certificate Activsync worked fine.
    4.  I can access Outlook Web access and OMA fine.
    5.  One of my colleagues has a Sony Ericson K700 phone and he has managed to get activesync working fine.
Becuase of the above I'm thinking that there are certain issues with the Nokia 5800 and Mail for exchange in an SSL environment.
I've had a scan through the logs on our OWA mail server but there are none that even indicate that my phone is getting to the server.
I work in an IT team so consider myselft as reasonably technically astute.
Here's the logfile from the phone.

21/07/2009 9:43:13 Error occurred during Ping. Setting Status to Waiting For Reconnect
I'm not sure whether this is relevant or not but when I got activesync working on the PDA emulator I noticed this error in the application log of the exchange server.
Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server: [mailboxserver.domain.co.uk] User: [[email protected]] HTTP status code: [409]. Verify that the Exchange mailbox Server is working correctly.

  • E65 Mail for exchange - Delay in opening email

Hi, I have been using the Mail for Exchange V2.02 on my Nokia E65 to connect with my Exchange Mail server for downloading my emails. I do a manual synch for downloading emails.
Whenever I try to open a new email that has downloaded, the phone shows me a message saying "Opening" and it takes atleast 2 minutes to open the message and show me the details. This delay happens only for the first email that is viewed, all subsequent emails open instantly.
Can someone help why it is taking so much time to open an email?
    Rgds,
    Kunal

I also rang Nokia phone support for this issue, and they were remarkably unhelpful.
All they said was there is a security issue on the certificate.
When asked how to change the security on the certificate?
Response was something along the lines of they can't tell me because their support services do not cover changing security of certificates.
When I asked where I could find that information?
They couldn't tell me because their support doesn't cover chaging certificate security.
Surely someone in Nokia knows how to do it! Why supply the program that allows security but doesn't work with it?!?
The other option was to purchase 3rd party certificates, but then you have replace your current certificate everywhere it is used with this 3rd party one. Why pay for something that is built into Exchange?
    Very frustrating.
Like you, Exchange on our work mobiles is a far cheaper option that Blackberry, so if we can get it to work, a lot more of us will be moving to Mail for Exchange.
We were actually looking at the e65 for all our business phones but after testing one, there is no point because the major drawing point doesn't work properly.

  • Mail for Exchange stopped working after installing...

I downloaded the software updater and duly connected and updated the firmware in my X6. It now has the latest version, although oddly the updater said that it needed updating with a new version from Sunday 2nd May. I now have the 4th May version.
Anyway since updating the firmware, Mail for exchange doesn't work, it is in the program list and starts to react when touched but then stops. It offers no error message but simply refuses to start.
I have tried the windows classics (off and on again) and even tried to update the firmware with the latest version of the updater, which it told me that the firmware was up to date but I could update it again if I wanted, so I did.
Anyway, No email etc on the phone and M4e is not working, I have emailed Nokia technical and thought I'd try this as well.
Any help would be gratefully recieved.
    Paul

I have a similar ongoing problem with MfE and my E63, in that after a period of time ranging anywhere between 1 and 3 months, I start getting system errors and "try again later" messages in the MfE log when trying to synchronize my email (no contacts or calendar sync, email only from my company's exchange webmail server, MfE installed on phone memory).  I typically could get it to sync if I forced it two or three times in a row, but it generally completely stopped syncing on the schedule I had put in, regardless of whether "always on" or a time interval was selected.
I get the feeling there is something in memory or a log file someplace that builds up and starts causing these errors - so far I have been able to fix the problem every time by simply reinstalling the same version of MfE.  When asked if you want to overwrite the existing version, choose yes.  You shouldn't have to re-enter any setup or credential information.
