  • Mail for Exchange and the dreaded 500 error!

    Hi
I've recently got myself a Nokia 5800 and have been trying to get Mail for Exchange working for the past week and a half.
I've read and actioned almost every suggestion that I can find on the web but still no joy!
The jist of the problem is as follows:-
    1. I created my profile which uses a secure connection and attempted to sync but no joy
    2. I downloaded the SSL certificate from our OWA server (provided by Equifax to my phone), tried again, still no joy.
    3. Next I downloaded a PDA emulator and configured activesync on it, after downloading and installing the certificate Activsync worked fine.
    4.  I can access Outlook Web access and OMA fine.
    5.  One of my colleagues has a Sony Ericson K700 phone and he has managed to get activesync working fine.
Becuase of the above I'm thinking that there are certain issues with the Nokia 5800 and Mail for exchange in an SSL environment.
I've had a scan through the logs on our OWA mail server but there are none that even indicate that my phone is getting to the server.
I work in an IT team so consider myselft as reasonably technically astute.
Here's the logfile from the phone.

I'm not sure whether this is relevant or not but when I got activesync working on the PDA emulator I noticed this error in the application log of the exchange server.
Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server: [mailboxserver.domain.co.uk] User: [[email protected]] HTTP status code: [409]. Verify that the Exchange mailbox Server is working correctly.

    Any help is massively appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hi,

I've tried all sorts of different connection settings and changing my credentials. I used the settings given from the setting up an iphone from the university.
I dont know why it suddently wont work. The link to the info i used is below. Thanks for any help anyone can give as this is really bugging me now.

  • E6 - Mail for Exchange (Mandatory Server Policy Fa...

I bought my E6 for couple of weeks, and have been having this problem when I tried to setup Mail for Exchange on my company's email account, and got this "Mandatory Server Policy Failed".
Just have Nokia Care reinstall all latest firmware, same problem exists.  My software version is 022.014, version date is 2011-07-05.
I used to have the same setting on C7, E7 and my Android phones for my company's email, all works fine.
    Any solutions for this?

I have been trying to configure Mail for Exchange on Nokia E6-00, but it doesn't work at all. It doesn't ask for auto phone lock option mandatory. Which is asked while configuring Mail for Exchange on Nokia E63, E72 and 5530, 5800 and so on.
Also I have searched Mail for Exchange software on OVi store but it is not available for E6-00. So that I can updated the existing software in my phone.
Can anyone please guide to resolve this issue?
Mail for exchange is perfectly working on my E6-00 for Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo but its not working while I tried to configure my Official email.

  • Mail for Exchange no obvious error but no email

I've got an E71 with MfE 2.5.5 and an Exchange 2003 SP2 server.
I've configured MfE so that it can talk to the server: The "Search Company Directory" works ok, and I can send email (and the sent item gets synced into my Outlook sent folder). For now, it's not using SSL just simple http.
But when I try to sync, I always get no email, and in the log there is "Added 0, Updated 0, Deleted 0, Discarded 0". I definitely have email (including some unread) on the server. I've disabled all sync items except email.
I've searched the forum but no-one seems to have quite the same problem, as I don't get any errors in the logs. The "pdu_log.txt" contains a bunch of xml with nothing that looks like an error message, and the "admin_log1.txt" has entries like:
16/07/2008 14:49:51 clearing device entries for initial sync
    16/07/2008 14:49:51 start Email sync
    16/07/2008 14:49:52 client->server adds=0 changes=0 deletes=0 fails=0
    16/07/2008 14:49:52 server->client adds=0 changes=0 deletes=0 fails=0
    6/07/2008 14:49:53 client->server adds=0 changes=0 deletes=0 fails=0
    16/07/2008 14:49:53 server->client adds=0 changes=0 deletes=0 fails=0
    16/07/2008 14:49:53 end Email sync
So no obvious errors about "snapshot database" or "server error" that other people were having.
    Any ideas? TIA.

I have exactly the same problem!!
It's driving me nuts! Several e-mail and calendar items won't appear on the phone. MfE log tells me there were no changes:
    22/04/2007 01:15:49 start Calendar sync
    22/04/2007 01:15:51 client->server adds=0 changes=0 deletes=0 fails=0
    22/04/2007 01:15:51 server->client adds=0 changes=0 deletes=0 fails=0
When I login through web access I see a lot of new e-mails in my Inbox and I created several new calendar items in Outlook but none of them appear on the phone.
Already upgraded to latest firmware on Nokia E51 and Nokia E71 and tried several versions of MfE. Currently on 2.7.
Does somebody have any clue on what's going on here?

  • E61i Mail for Exchange error - any clues?

    Hi,
My E61i has recently stopped syncing, via MfE and now displays the message, "Your account does not have permission to sync with current settings. Contact your administrator."
I have tried various things including reinstalling MfE and creating a new profile (twice). I am trying to sync back to a Zimbra server  ZCS operated by my email supplier. I can sync my PC quite happily. But the E61i won't play either using 3G (vodafone) or over WiFi

ok, problem was solved. What was done:
attmpted to sync with WM device and got error 0x86000108. This means "there's a corrupted item in your mailbox". In my case it was one of the emails in subfolders in Inbox.

  • E65 - Mail for Exchange ERROR

I've lots of problems and questions about Mail for Exchange.
    My phone is a Nokia E65 (Symbian S60 v3.0).
I’ve download Mail for Exchange from OVI and add my Hotmail account.
(Microsoft finally opens the Push for all!)
After download, installed and setup, Mail for Exchange always said to me:
“Sync failed, Contact your administrator if the problem persist”…
Ok, I try again and again, but always the same message…
I went to the journal and here is what I read:
    “System error, try again later.”…
    But all is perfectly synchronized!
Mails ok, Address Book ok, Task ok... Etc…
So, why have I all the time this message??
I’ve try to understand alone, and I saw that the version of “Mail for Exchange” was the 3.0.50.
I told that there’s maybe an update!
I went to the website of “Mail for Exchange” (http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/mail-for-exchange/faq-for-mail-for-exchange) and I saw all the versions:
    - Mail for Exchange 3.0.73 for S60 v5
    - Mail for Exchange 3.0.73 for S60 v3.1
    - Mail for Exchange 3.0.50 for S60 v3.0
Why for S60 v3.0 only, the last version is 3.0.50? Where is the 3.0.73?
I attempted to communicate with Microsoft by mail, to be sure that all the settings was correct…
And all the settings were correct!
I attempted to launch an update for the program, but noting to check an update…
    I attempted to install “Mail for Exchange” 3.0.73 for S60 v3.1 on my S60 v3.0 but impossible…
    HELP!
I took some screenshots, but they’re in French sorry:

  • Mail for Exchange on E72 drives us into madness...

    Hi all...
    The version information:
Mail for Exch. Build : 2.02.000
    Device Software Version: 052.005
    27-Oct-2010
    RM-530
    (C)Nokia
    Device Model: E72-1
Email server is Exchange 2007 SP3
    01.03.2011 11:34:46 start  sync
    01.03.2011 11:34:47 HTTP error code=500
01.03.2011 11:34:47 HTTP Server Error 500: Internal Server Error
    01.03.2011 11:34:48 end Calendar sync
It is quite obvious that problem is on the calendar. But why on earth you do not tell which calendar entry is causing the 500 error??
Sometimes we got solved this problem by moving all calendar entries into another calendar folder in Outlook, and then move the entries back to default calendar folder. But that sounds really bad solution especially when that is not a bullet proof solution.
Is there any change to get any support for this mail client from Nokia?

Well, the problem is obviously with the server, not with your phone. Perhaps there's a similar forum for questions about Mail for Exchange (and not Nokia). Did you ask in your IT department?

  • E50 Mail for Exchange - "Exchange Server Error" co...

Mail for Exchange cannot synchronize with the Exchange Server. The most usefull information can be found in the IIS log for the ActiveSync Server. (Se below)
Does any one know what the error code 1236 refers to?
    2007-02-23 14:39:36 158.39.96.10 OPTIONS /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync User=akvaplan%5Cjos&DeviceId=IMEI251892015795724&DeviceType=IMEI351892015799724&Log=VNATNASNC:0A0C0D0FS:0A0C0D0SP:0C0I0S0R0S0L0H 80 - 212.17.141.53 NokiaE50/1.0 200 0 0

Finally found the solution, and thought to post it in case someone else has the same problem.
First make sure ActiveSync at the Exchange server is set up correctlt. Follew the instructions at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=817379 , method 2
BUT the article is wrong at points 13 and 14:
    13. Under IP address and domain name restrictions, click Edit.
    14. Click Denied access, click Add, click Single computer, type the IP address of the server that you are configuring, and then click OK.
If you skip these points (do not deny access to all), it works!

  • Exchange 2010 Initialization failed: The WinRM client received an HTTP server error status 500

    Good morning,
I have major problems with exchange 2010 this morning.
First off, exchange stopped sending and receiving any emails- whether internal or external. We are running a server 2008 R2 domain and exchange 2010 is installed on a Server 2008 virtual machine.
I tried simply rebooting the server and then tried logging on and getting into the Exchange Management Console. I receive the following error in the exchange management console:
    Initialization failed
    The following error occurred while attempting to connect to the specified Exchange server 'exchangesvr.chs.internal';
    The attempt to connect to
http://exchangesvr.chs.internal/Powershell using "Kerberos" authentication failed: Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message: The WinRM client received an HTTP server error status (500), but the remote service did not include any
other information about the cause of the failure. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic.
I followed the steps listed here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607221(EXCHG.80).aspx
but everything appeared to be correct. I did not have to make any changes because everything was set as it should be according to that information.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Best regards
    Katrina

    Hi,
I had the same problem, and I spent a weekend looking a solution, fortunally, I have it:
    Please follow this steps:
Install WinRM IIS Extension, adding this feature from Server Manager.
Change  IPv4 over IPv6 lookup preference, because the FQDN fails to find the server on TCP/IPv6.
To verify this, on Command Prompt please make this test: ping yourserver.yourdomain.domain.
Maybe you obtain TCP/IPV6 address response.
Probably the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager dont have the binding for IPv6, only for IPv4.
To change IPv4 over IPv6 lookup group prefence, follow this steps:
Please open regedit, locate the skubkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters\
On DisabledComponents subkey, double click, change de value for
0x20 (or 4120 Hexadecimal). this value make  the Windows OS to prefer IPv4 over IPv6.
Repeat the test, on command prompt:
ipconfig /flushdns (Enter) to flush DNS cache.
    ping yourserver.yourdomain.domain.
At this moment you obtain TCP/IPv4 address response.
To check Exchange Managment Console operation, you must restart the server.
    Please restart the server.
              Best Regards,

  • Mail For Exchange Error -15006

10 days ago we updated our microsoft exchange server 2003 to exchange 2007 sp2. All went fine. Almost all 300 cellphones synchronised over the internet without any problem except for two phones. One Nokia E61 and one Nokia E51. From blank i can only synchronise once. When i start synchronising for a second time i get the message "Error in exchange server" (translated)
I upgraded to the latest firmware and the latest mail for exchange version without solving the problem. Changing the account on the phone also did not solve the problem. So the conclusion is that the problem is not in the account.
In the adminlog of the nokia suite, which i installed to troubleshoot the problem, there is a Mail For Exchange Error -15006.
    Anyone have an idea?
    Thanks in advance.
    Willem Kraaijenhof

It could be a servicepack issue. Read this:

  • The WinRM client received an HTTP server error status (500)

    Hi All,
I have installed the Exchange 2010 Management Tools and a few roles on our DC (Windows Server 2008 R2) but i cannot even connect to it to configure anything.
If i use the management tools GUI i get an error message saying:
"Connecting to remote server failied with the following error message: The WinRM client received an HTTP server error status (500), but the remove service did not include any other informaition about the cause of the failure. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic. It was running the command 'Discover-ExchangeServer -UseWIA $true -SuppressError $true'."
Using the Exchange Management Shell is get a similar error:
"Connecting to remote server failied with the following error message: The WinRM client received an HTTP server error status (500), but the remove service did not include any other informaition about the cause of the failure. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic.
    + CategoryInfo : OpenError: (System.Manageme....RemoteRunspace:RemoteRunspace) [], PSRemotingTransportException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId: PSSessionOpenFailed"
This comes up 3 times and then said it failed to connect and to enter the Server FQDN i want to connect to.
I have seen other posts where they have said to disable anonymous access for PowerShell in IIS which i have done and to also run the set-user yourusername -remotepowershellenabled:$true which i cannot run because i cannot even connect into it via PowerShell.
Tried to see if there was a way to reinstall the management tools because i have a feeling they didnt install properly but cant find a way to do that.
Tried to uninstall everything but i cannot because it says there are already mailboxes created (presume some default ones) but i cannot connect to remove them to uninstall.
I seem to have reached a wall and cannot see how to proceed.
    Please help. Thanks.

Have you tried loading EMS via Admin Tools > Windows Powershell Modules? Amazingly, that will probably work fine for you.
Assuming that loads, or that you can run EMS on another machine:
Check Powershell directory in IIS on the problem server. Make sure SSL is not required. Allow only Anonymous access - no basic/IWA auth etc.
If you can get into Windows Powershell Modules, run the set-user command suggested above from there.
Remove-powershellvirtualdirectory, and then New-powershellvirtualdirectory (either remotely or using Windows Powershell Modules.
Re-check SSL/authentication once this is done.

    Hi Max,
Tried loading EMS via Admin Tools > Windows Powershell Modules but didnt work. Got the following error:

I think it is a problem with the PowerShell IIS VirtualDirectory because when i browse any other virtual directory i get a response of some sort but when i browse the PowerShell virtual directory i get the same 500 error message.
This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying.
Now i think i have made things worse. I was looking at the remove and new point you made an accidently deleted the whole PowerShell virtual directory in IIS using the IIS GUI. I didnt use the Remove-powershellvirtualdirectory command. Now i dont know how to get it back :(
When i try to run New-powershellvirtualdirectory and specify to call it PowerShell it says it is already

I have tried to use the remove command but it doesnt find it no matter what i put in the identify parameter. It should be "Default Web Site" right?
Anyways, i have created a new PowerShell virtual directory called ExchPowerShell (still would like to find a way have it called PowerShell) and removed SSL and enabled only Anonymous access. Now get a different error message:
    VERBOSE: Connecting to DC01.mainserver
[dc01.mainserver] Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : The WinRM client sent a request

Did a search and i think this is because i now had a different PowerShell virtual directory so if i try to connect and specify the new virtual directory name i get the same error i was getting.
Failed to connect to any Exchange Server in the current site.
Please enter the Server FQDN where you want to connect: DC01.mainserver/ExchPowerShell

  • Mail for exchange error

Few users have got a problem with m4e (E70), phones stopped synchronizing week or more ago.
Problem is weird, everything works fine until on one day, new mails wont sync anymore. Tried removing and re-creating the profile, re-installing the m4e, resetting phone to factory defaults, and yes phone starts synchronizing, until we get to that weird day: it stops, and newer mails after that spesific time are not synchronized. Calendar syncronizing seems to work fine even after that time/date.
We have many users using the mail for exchange, and everything works fine for most of them. There are only few users who have this problem and all of them have a different date, when this starts to happen.
For those users m4e logs some errors:
    - Mail for exchange error -15005 (this error usually seems to happen before synchronizing stops)
    - Location of the message store changed. Doing full resync.
    - Failed to decode server response.
    - Mail for exchange error -15000
    - HTTP Client Stack Error: Disconnect - Kerrdisconnected
    etc.
Is there any place I could find descriptions for these mysterious error codes. I have been trying to "google", but still can't find a solution for this problem.
Help, anyone? Thanks in advance.Message Edited by cjet on 27-Aug-200711:10 AM

    Hi
My E70 has just started to behave in the same way - one day it was working, then it stopped and hasn't worked since. The following is an extract from the log:
    07/02/2008 15:12:16 start Email sync
07/02/2008 15:12:17 failed to decode server response
    07/02/2008 15:12:17 client->server adds=0 changes=0 deletes=0 fails=0
    07/02/2008 15:12:17 server->client adds=0 changes=0 deletes=0 fails=0
    07/02/2008 15:12:17 end Email sync
07/02/2008 15:12:17 KEASErrSvrSyncFailed - Unable to Process Sync Response.
Others in my company with E70's are not havng a problem. I have re-loaded the FW and M4E, but it still fails to sync e:mail.
    Any ideas?

  • E61 Mail for Exchange error -15002

I have an E61 that I'm testing for use with our Exchange Server 2003 (SP1 at the moment).
I have everything set right, or at least what I think is correct.
When I try to use the Mail for Exchange, I try and sync and just get an empty dialogue box with an ! in it. When I use the file manager to look at the log file (admin_log1), I just see the following error:
    System Error -15002
I have googled that error, look over my Exchange server's logs, and looked over some posts here. Nothing that would shed the light on why this is happening.
I'm hoping to be able to dump our corp. blackberry's for devices like this, but I cannot get it this connector to work. POP3 and OWA work just fine, but those are very limited in functionality.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Thanks Sojan7,
You were right, the exchange server field is to be only the public url like servername.com without any http or /oma /exchange..
I also had some faults in my security settings in IIS that you others with this "empty dialog" problem should check.
1st. ActiveSync can´t use basic authentication, so you must make sure that integrated windows autheticatiation is on, for your /exchange-oma (or exchange for those who uses that one)
2nd. On my SBS the wizard had changed the security on Microsoft Server -ActiveSync to only accept the servers own IPs to connect.
3rd. I could not get it to work if you require to use certificates on the exchange-oma, úsing -Require SSL connection- dont work, but it can still be chosen in the phone without problems.
Also for some, you shouldn´t use a proxy in your gprs connecion.
    Hope this can help you
