  • Mail for Exchange - N82 - Gmail FULL Sync Working ...

I've just installed mail for excange on my N82, and set up the sync for my google apps account, for calendar and contacts (as i was using System Seven and it kept loosing half my contacts when syncing)! - Not happy.
I noticed that Google and Nokia don't support the e-mail push, although i thought i'd give it a go and i activated it anyway - And it is working great for me.
It created a new 'mail for exchange' folder in my messaging list, and works perfectly as a push email solution.
I've tested contacts, calendar and email and it is very fast and just 'works!' - Just wanted to know if anyone else is using this as there complete solution to sync with their google accounts?? as i cant find anyone being positive about the service. and for free.
Let me know if it's working for you, as seems to be 1000 times better than nokia messaging, by snycing everything including emails!
There must be a downside?  Will my data transfer be high? Or does it keep an open connection and only update when changes are made (like most other push systems)?
    Feedback will be great

So you can use MfE for your personal emails, without having a corporate exchange? if that's true and i can set this up with my personal website, gmail and hotmail, i'll download it and give it a whirl

  • Mail for Exchange does not send letters

Hi. I am from Ukraine and use MTS operator. The E-mail sets up OK both with IMAP and POP and woks both through GPRS and Wi-Fi. But I have a problem with bult-in Mail for Exchange application. I had set it up for a gmail account, it synchronizes mail, calendar an contacts OK, but when I try to send an e-mail I get an "Unable to perform operation" message. The same gmail account set up separately works OK and this same account was OK on Mail for Exchange (downloaded from OVI Store) on my N82.

I'm using 2 accounts as well, an explicit Gmail account installed via the setup wizard and an MfE account for contacts and calendar that doesn't sync mails.

  • N78 and MAIL FOR EXCHANGE

Anyone heard if N78 will support MAIL for EXCHANGE like the N82 does???

I got N78 few weeks ago and so far I have mixed thoughts around it. It's very nice looking device and it contains good set of functionalities built-in.
    Main negative issues so far:
    - Screen is very good indoors, but has some reflection issues in bright sunlight.
    - Buttons don't have the best feedback, when they are pressed, so many times I ended up in pressing buttons too many time (and got returned back to menu). Call ending button is also very hard to find without having a look at the phone.
    - FP2 menu changes are quite nice, but sometimes too slow "animations" (e.g. when entering camera mode) frustrates me.
    - Most S60 applications work just fine, but there are some issues like with MfE and some video applications that uses new Realplayer. I have had also issues with Nokia Sportstracker (beta), GPS receptions issues will break the measurements and tracking when running longer periods (now more than 75% of my runs end up with corrupted measurements).
    - FM transmitter works poorly with some car models (depending perhaps on antenna location).

  • Mail for Exchange sync in roaming

Upgraded mail for Exchange to 3.00.050 on N82.
Despite 'Sync while roaming' is set to No synchronisation is still taking place, in version 2.x it was behaving as expected. Same trouble for anybody?

    Hi!
Normally, the options are Yes, No and in peak only.
But the exchange administrator can enforce the client the default option, so even if you want to select yes, if the exchange server config is set to NO, you can not change it.
Tra to contact your exchange admin for further details.

  • How to use Nokia mail for exchange

How to use Nokia mail for exchange for N82 so that it can push mails for gmail, yahoo.

It appears that what you are looking to do is from another product at Nokia called Nokia Messaging.  Go to mail.nokia.com and setup a messaging account and add the gmail and yahoo accounts there.  Then SMS send the configuration program to your device.  Install it.  it will add all the accounts to your device on install and will send messages to your device.  So at this point you will have Mail for Exchange for you corporate mail and Nokia Messaging for you personal mail ( gmail and yahoo).

  • Mail for Exchange and alphanumeric lock code

I have N82 and installed MFE 3.0 version. My company runs Exchange Active Server  2003 and needs an alphanumeric lock code for phone which is not available on N82.
Are there ways to enable alphanumeric phone autolock on Nseries? or is this a serious limitation for all Nseries devices? Because i found 5800 XM and N97mini which support this feature.
    -Karthik

Go to your outlook web access website and click on the lock and then view certificate. The details and then you can save it in DER format to your desktop.
    Then go to this site:
http://www.redelijkheid.com/symcaimport/ and insert through the browse button and then copy the link to your phone.
Then you should be able to download it
You can also go to your IIS default site on the exchange server and directory security and export your certificate under edit certificate.
I have tried everything now. I can download my certificate and the valicert from GoDaddy, but the Nokia phone is still saying "do you trust this certificate" every time the phone syncs.
Our firm have taken the E-phones away now and went over to windows mobile and all of them worked within 10 minutes without any errors.
The funny thing is that when you try to call nokia, they wont help you with Mail for Exchange, and it is there program
I know my GoDaddy certificate works on windows mobile phones, so It must be something with Mail for Exchange.
Every guy I talked to about symbian phones have told me they always gives problems with SSL. I am a bit **bleep**, but can conclude that Nokia is for the private consumer.
    Best Regards

  • E52 Mail for Exchange with Exchange 2010

I need to sync all the mobile phone in my organization with an Exchange 2010 server.
We have some different phone models like E90, N82, N95 that works fine with some different Mail For Exchange version.
But the E52 models can't works in syncronization and I can't upgrade the MfE version inside it.
Exchange server logs write this error: "DeviceNotProvisioned_Budget" Anyone know what this mean?
    Thanks
    Davide

    Noted your post.
I have an E52 but could not get the MfE to work.
I have crossed checked the authentication settings on another Nokia E71 and this word fine but for some reason the E52 will not work. I will try the Roadsync but it seems a lttle strange that a 3rd party prodcut is needed on a new phone when Nokia should solve this. I have sent my phone off to our IT dept for them tio assess the issue. My view for what its worth is its an SSL issue, we use MfE 2003 with SP2 and I think this maybe the issue.

  • N8 Mail for Exchange – problems with date separato...

key points are highlighted by bold text
    Hi,
I'm using my Nokia N8-00 for one month now and everything works fine except three issues I discovered using Mail for Exchange. Two weeks ago I contacted our domain/mail hoster to set up a MS Exchange account for me.
Setting up the account on my N8-00 worked as expected, but after a detailed look I found some problems concerning the date separator (normally set in the settings of the clock-application) and the synchronizing of anniversaries.
To be sure the sources of the problems are not produced by the server I set up the Mail for Exchange (newest available version of Mail for Exchange via Ovi-Store – 3.00(50)) account on my N82. Comparisons to my N82 are mentioned below.
My first problem with Mail for Exchange on my N8 is that the date separator is switched from . (point) to – (minus) automatically. I'm pretty sure this issue depends on the N8’s Mail for Exchange, cause it only happens in the peak-time (off-peak is set to sync manually). The strange thing is that I cannot trace back this occurrence – it just happens randomly in the peak-period.
On my N82 this problem doesn’t occur. Additionally the support employee at my mail hoster told me he is using an E-Series (Mail for Exchange 2.07) device without having this issue.
Is there a workaround or a fix coming for this issue? Is there anybody else having this issue?
Now coming to the second issue I sustain using Mail for Exchange on the N8-00. Some of my contacts that are synced to my device get the wrong date of birth displayed in the device. Upon contacts where this problem occurs the date of birth is displayed one day earlier than set in Outlook.
I found out that this issue only happens to contacts born prior to 198* (* between 1 to 4 – sorry not sure about the exact date). One example is the date 02.10.1978, which is displayed as 01.10.1978 in my phone. Even if I set up a new test-contact with this date of birth it is displayed wrong in my phone!
But it doesn’t happen to all birthdates prior to 198*. And also on this issue I’m not sure where it’s coming from.
This problem doesn’t happen on my N82 and the E-Series device mentioned above.
Last but not least the third issue which in a way is similar to the one above but doesn’t happen in the contacts application. Birthdays which are automatically entered as all-day-series in the calendar by Outlook aren’t synced to the device as birthday events (as Ovi-Suite does). Sometimes they aren’t even all-day events – they have a starting time at midnight and an end time at midnight the next day.
If I change those events to real all-day-birthday-events in the calendar app of my N8-00 they are synced back to my Outlook one day prior to their real date – sounds familiar, huh?
To be sure these issues are not produced by me in any curious way I made sure that every birthday-event in Outlook is an automatically entered event. Additionally I checked the time zones and the date-separator of Exchange via Outlook Web Access and on my phone – they are both set to GMT +1 and the date is set to dd.mm.yyyy.
What makes me angry is that those issues don’t happen to my older device.
Please help me to fix these problems!
    Greetings
    Lars

I am having ongoing problems with Hotmail and my N8's Mail for Exchange. I have all the latest firmware updates from Nokia, that as I understand it was supposed to fix the problem, it hasn't. I've even done a hard reset on the phone, which lost a ton of stuff that my service provider had installed
Hotmail via MfE works for a couple of days then stops connecting and refuses to update mail or calendar entries, I then delete the account and recreate it and it all works again for a couple of days. I know this isn't a problem with Hotmail as my Nokia 5800 works perfectly with its MfE.
This is spoiling what is otherwise a good phone as it's a main feature for me as I use the calendar in Hotmail to organise my meetings etc.

  • Mail for exchange settings on N97

I have a N97 which mail for exchange was working happily on, synchronizing mail, contact's and calendar. The world was a good place!
The screen broke and  needed replacing on my N97 and  I have set up mail for exchange again. Now when it downloads mail, it downloads all of the other outlook folders inside my inbox as well as my inbox. It never used to do this and indeed this is not what I want.
How can I get my N97 to just download the inbox rather than all of the folders within the inbox on outlook. There must be some settings either on the phone or in outlook which defines what is synced.

Maybe you had earlier Mail for Exchange v2.9 in use and after setting it up again, you have got the latest MfE 3.0 version. The new MfE 3.0 version has as a new feature the possibility to view the outlook subfolders. These are, however, not automatically synced unless you subscribe to them. The unsubscribed folders show the mark (x) in front of the folder name. After you subscribe to a folder, the (x) mark will disappear from the folder name.

  • Mail For Exchange - Compatability/Downloads menu i...

    Using N79
    SW 31.002.205.4.
Up until this morning running MfE 2.9.158. Just been offerred 2.9.160 via App.Update. Post install check indicates this has been available for months - why the delay in pushing it through to App.Update?
MfE 2.9.160 still not fixed old issue of being unable to open MfE settings following phone restart - why not? - threads dating back to 1st quarter 2009! but this one explains the issue precisely:
    /t5/Messaging-Email-and-Browsing/Mail-for-Exchange-corrupted/m-p/603626/highlight/true#M21922
It's the only app on my phone that cannot be routinely opened - not good.
Notwithstanding this idiosyncrasy email syncing is more hit than miss but  falls way short of my iPod touch which is 100% rock solid regarding Exchange compatability. Does Nokia want Exchange Server based customers- my guess is not enough. Generally speaking if I notice emails hitting my iPod but not my N79 it's time for a  phone restart.  But that  kills the ability to open MfE settings So it's back to a re-install.
    If the above isn't bad enough Nokia has just made it worse.  This "current" link from the N79 support page is dead;
    http://businesssoftware.nokia.com/mail_for_exchange_downloads.php
and after much dead-ending find that the Ovi Store now contains MfE - no problem with that it makes sense to consolidate. But no mention of N79 being supported by the latest greatest MfE and Ovi only lists 3.0 as supporting FP1 phones - so wht about FP2?
Is my N series phone supported anymore - I've got no idea.
Wake up Nokia it's 2010 not 1990 - we shouldn't have to put  up with this **bleep** in basic functionality.
Judging by lack of action over the past 12 months have no hope Nokia will put this right but that my dear Nokia is how you lose customers to your rivals Apple and RIM. Pull your finger out.

I'm hoping this fix works for me long term and post as is.
Multiple phone calls to Nokia Tier 1 and 2 phone support heavily supplemented by some determined Google searching led me to the following solution.
First off the bad news. To fix the MfE issue requires a hard reset of the device. There's no way around this so resign yourself to it early.
The good news however is you can dramatically reduce the time needed to return your device back to its pre-reset condition by backing up your device using Ovi Suite. Forget to do this and you'll be re-installing your apps one at a time.
My issue was made more difficult because the usual hard re-set code (*#7370 #) would not reset the device i.e. full recovery of phone memory, complete wiping of contacts etc. Ignoring Nokia's advice to return the phone for repair! I turned up an alternative method which achieved the hard re-set I was seeking.
    As follows:
Hold these three keys down - *, 3 and green accept call - whie the phone is off, then power on keeping them depressed until the Nokia logo plays.
On the N79 this involves an usual amount of manual dexterity but nevertheless worked where the re-set code failed. Hopefully this won't be necessary for most users.
Once re-set you will be presented with the Set up menu as per a new phone.
With a fully recovered phone memory you can now restore your earlier backup via Ovi Suite, which for me did 90% of the work needed to get my phone back to its earlier personalised condition. I took the opportunity of checking for any programme updates of essential apps and updated as necessary. Re-installation of Speed Dial settings and permitted Bluetooth devices amongst other items was required but all in all all my data and file structure was faithfully restored first time around.
I am now running MfE 3.0 (actually 2.09.208 - see initial thread posting ) which Nokia support advise is not supported  for the N79 -  given the varying level of advice received I'm prepared to run with my own view that it works fine. If you wish to play safe you should be running 2.9.160.
I have re-booted the phone multiples times over the last two days and on only one occasion (which I'm going to pretend never happened) MfE has been rock solid. In addition Ovi Maps which had stopped opening - and was fundamentally what set me off down the road of a hard re-set - is now working perfectly.
I'm hoping this cures the irritating MfE problem long term pending Nokia sorting out whether they even support the N79 any longer as far as MfE is concerned.
As a sign off I will just say for my purposes the N79 is the best smartphone I've ever owned and supplemented with an iPod Touch is a fantastic work/play combination. If you are allowed tethering on your contract I contend Walking Hot Spot is THE killer app and so confident am I of my choice of phone I've just bought a second N79, at a much reduced price, which I'm going to use as a backup/extension to my existing N79 when it dies and goes to heaven.
Hope this post saves someone else some timeand effort.

  • Problem with Mail For Exchange over Nokia E7-00 (a...

Hi, I have a problem with my nokia E7-00 (Symbian Anna).
Until recently it worked fine with my terminal synchronization with GMAIL via Mail For Exchange.
I synchronized the mail (including folders / labels I have on my account), address book and calendar.
Suddenly, this synchronization does not work anymore, the mail is no longer recovered, the calendar does not show appointments and contacts are no longer synchronized.
Trying to send an email that works perfectly, but the mail is not saved in Sent folder on my nokia e7-00, also if I search on the remote server is a contact I found it perfectly.
In practice it seems that something in the synchronization mechanism does not work.
Do you have ideas on how to fix this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    MP

You may try rebooting the device to check if it works. If this did not help, you will have to re-setup outlook account on your device to get it worked.
Hope, this can resolve your issue.

  • Problem with mail for exchange after update on E72...

    Hi everyone,
I updated Nokia E-mail to ver 3.9 on E72. Now I am facing  a problem with mail for exchange. I have configured gmail on mail for exchange. I recieve a warning that "unable to sync contact administrator if problem persist". It started to pop up just after the update was over and is very frustrating. Even previously i used to recieve mails instantly but now it generally takes half an hour for me to recieve them. I deleted and created mail for exchange several times but to no avail.
Also i am not able to automatically recieve mails other emails which i have configured. every time I have to manually download them everytime.
Can anybody suggest a way out.
    Thanks
    Anil

It could be a problem if you're using your network's connections...
I was on a Pay & Go tariff with o2 some time ago, and needed secure connections for various things, o2 told me they didn't provide secure connections on Pay & Go tariffs...
Could be worth checking with them to make sure it's supported.

  • Calendar sync problem with Mail for Exchange

I have troubles syncing my calendar with Mail for Exchange.
I've configured MfE the same way I did on my N8-00 and it worked perfectly there. On my new N9 it just syncs Mail and the ToDo list of from the Exchange Server. Any suggestions what I am doing wrong?
Also, when I remove my MfE settings, the Calendars still are in the Calendar App. How can I delete them?

    Hi,
There could be some problem with the contact sync, because you had synched with MFE . Remove the existing sync for Mail for exchange and then try creating a new sync and then check, That should maybe solve the issue.
I had mfe configured and then removed and now then i sync with the Address book and Ical. Seems to be working fine for me, just that i use a N95.
Hopefully it fixes, let me know the outcome.
    Cheers
    Sandy
Helpful information, then dont forget to hit the kudos star :-) Or say it accepted solution and thanks

    Hello!
I upgraded my Nokia e52 to Software version 033.002.216.01 but now I am unable to sync with my mail for exchange Calendar. Settings are correct (in calendar settings Default mailbox is Mail for Exchange and in Email settings Calendar sync is "Yes") and I am still able to sync e-mail, but not calendar items.
Can anyone help me with this issue? Does anyone have the same problem after software upgrade?

I haven't solve the problem yet. Waiting for new firmware, might be it will solve the problem...
