Mail freezes when adding email address to address book

When i right click an address in an email to add to the address book, mail gives me the endless beach ball. Any ideas?

Mail Crashing When Adding Recipeint Addresses

SL 10.6.1 -- Late 2007 Macbook -- Santa Rosa CD2 2.2 GHz, Seagate 320 HD 7200 RPM, 4 GB RAM
When holding down the Apple key on the keyboard, so that I can select and add multiple addressees from the address book, Mail will crash -- spinning beach ball for 10-seconds, addressing function does not allow selecting any more addressees from the address list, then Mail crashes. Upon Mail restart, original unsent email is intact, ready to be addressed, but addresses that were being selected when Mail crashed do not show up in BCC field of unsent mail.
Reselect same addresses for the second time -- find that if I select fewer addresses (say 5-7) and hit BCC button at top of addressing pane, those selected addresses will transfer over to unsent email with no problem -- repeat process for next group of addressees -- 5-7 at a time -- until all addresses have been selected and BCCd to pending email -- crashing seems to be occurring because of selecting too many addressees before hitting BCC button.
Just went into the Address Book app get-info, and selected 32-bit -- if this does not fix this problem, then will do the same for Mail -- force it to run in a 32-bit mode.

No Plaxo installed -- stock install and apps, nothing fancy or 3rd party, per se.
I crash Mail MANY times a day, because of this bug -- am considering downgrading to Leopard, as I rely on Mail to function without crashing, and without the resulting annoyance and hassle.

When I first try to add an attachment or sometimes reply to an email, I get the spinning beachball of death and this can spin for a couple of minutes. Once the first attachment is on the rest attach instantly. I have reloaded my computer twice but still have the same problem. Help

This sounds like the age old problem with keychain & Safari. I don't know of a way to solve it without using something like 1Password.
The iOS app has it's own built in browser, so it has more control over what gets autofilled. Safari on OS X has an 1Password extension that handles account selection & autofill etc.
Keychain is great in principle, but it quickly falls down when you need tight integration with many ID's & different use cases (work, home etc).
I'd suggest you submit feedback to Apple about your thoughts. I did so years ago about this issue & this is how far we have come (back to the point where me.com synced passwords) :^)

Other tools like lastpass or keypassx may also help if you want to truly segregate password storage, but that doesn't fix autofill, the way around that issue is to dedicate one browser for work.

Automatically cc myself is not checked. I did find out that if you have multiple email address that all of them need to be associated with "My Contact" tab. Thanks

In iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete and re-enter the information for that account
Or better yet IMHO set Apple Mail as the e-mail client

I am facing a problem while adding email addresses (whcih are already stored in my BB Bold 9000). while adding "To: or CC:" only 1 email stored contact is displayed. others are not.

If I understand you correctly, while adding email addresses to any particular email IDs you're can't see multiple email IDs. Email addresses are stored under the contact names. You can save multiple email address under one contact. Now while putting name in To/CC field you should be typing the names of the contact and when pressing/selecting names you would be prompted with multiple email addresses.

When you device is POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery. This make a reboot to your device which minor issues with the BlackBerry device.

When using Mail and selecting the recipient, Address Book no longer shows Groups. I am forced to select from my entire alphabetized contact list. What's going on?

Has the Address Book software changed? Or has Mail changed? For purposes of email, Address Book no longer allows me to find an addressee or several addressees who are members of one of my Groups (or Smart Groups). What happens is this: I open Mail, initiate a new email, put the cursor in the To: box and click the 'Show addresses' icon in the New Message box. The Addresses list shows up in a separate window with an alphabetized listing of all my contacts. It used to allow me to select a Group, but Groups are no longer listed. I have no choice but to select an address (or addresses) from the entire list. Needless to say, this is intolerable.
Ultimately, I have two questions:
What has changed and can I fix it so it works as it used to?
If I can't fix it, what other email/address book software combination works simply and cleanly so I don't have to live with this frustration.

If you select a List in your Address Book, so that its contents display at the right, does "Export" not write just the Lists's member Contacts out to the csv file?

You clicked on the link to send reset info to your rescue email address as shown in steps 1 to 5 of the page that you posted from, and you've checked your spam folder as well as your Inbox ?

This is called autocomplete. Please read the article [[Form autocomplete entries are not saved]], as it should solve the problem.

Mail freezes when sending certain emails

Mail freezes when I try to send certain emails on a MBP with Mavericks, even after the latest mail update. Any suggestions? Thanks.
