Mail from Reports 2.5

Dear Exports
I am using Oracle Reports 2.5 for Oracle 7.3.2 database. I want to send the report output as a Mail. If I click on MAIL, I get the following error:
REP:4201: error while initialising the Mail subsytem
REP:4220 There is a problem with the mail Subsystem
What shall I do to rectify the problem. How to enable the mail subsystem ?
I am using Lotus Notes for email.

The solution is:
you have to add a into regedit file in hkey_local_machine\microsoft
the two following strings:
exchange and exchangeserver with value equal to registered. Reset
the PC and try.

I have tried to send a mail from report using "File" ---> "Mail.." Function that is avaible on report, but it send a file "*.eps" that is not readble with the normal reader.....
It is possible to send a PDF file ???

Hello Mike,
In Reports Builder 6i, Just change the Initial Value of the DESFORMAT System Parameter in the Object Navigator (under Data Model) to PDF, or any other format you want to mail the report in.

Send mail from report with DESNAME and DESFORMAT

j have tried to send a mail from a report to "outlook express" passing as parameters the email of the user to send the mail.
i have passed as parameter list :
DESCNAME = [email protected]
DESFORMAT = mail
but aoutlook express don't start.
It start only if i press the icon "mail" on report, and don't put the email adress in the "send to" field....
There is a reason or there is an error or it is impossible ????

Hello Mike,
In order to mail a report from Reports Builder 6i using the system's default MAPI client, you would need to set DESTYPE=MAIL, DESNAME=<email address of recipient> and DESFORMAT=<format of report output>.

Problem in sending mail from REPORT BUILDER...HELP ...PLS ....URGENT

Hi All,
I added the mailserver part in the rwbuilder.conf file.This is how it looks
<pluginParam name="mailServer">smtp.xxx.com</pluginParam>
The smtp server of our company is working fine.
Now when i am sending mail frm report builder i am getting the error.
Pls tell me .....
Do i have to configure any other file?
Should the smtp server be running in my local machine?WHAT IS THE SOLUTION ...FOR THIS PROBLEM?
Please someone give me some guidance..

Send mail from reporting agent - Exception

Hello,
I am trying to send a mail as follow-up action in the reporting agent.(Version 3.0)
I am interested only in the alert details information and I mark only this flag.
I get the following mail:
       message
       123
       Details
       Breakdown Status :
       New Exception
       Non-critical ( Green ) :    1
       : 3,302 CTN

I still would like to edit the content of the mail. Is the only way is to change class CL_RSRA_ER_FOLLOW_UP_MAIL?

Sending PDF Mail from Reports 6I

Hi Everyone,
First of all i am sorry to raise an issue that has been discussed here many times but unfortunately i am encountering a strange problem to which you guys might to be able to share some light on it.
Now regards to my problem i have create one report which i being called from a form to this report i pass the parameter
DESNAME :- Email ID of the person whom i am sending the email.
DESTYPE :- MAIL
DESFORMAT :- PDF
BACKGROUND :- YES
I have overcome the problem of OUTLOOK(2003) security through a third party software ,whenever i run this report from the form on my machine either locally or from a remote location things work fine the emails are being sent to its destined mail ids in PDF format without any issue but whenever i try to run the same form from any of my colleagues machines either locally or remotely the OUTLOOK(2003) "MESSAGE" window opens thereby asking the user to PRESS the SEND button in order the mail to be sent.I would be glad if any one could guide as how to suppress this "MESSAGE" and send the mail automatically without any intervention.
I and colleagues are using the following version of softwares
Database : 10g
Developer Tools :- 6i (Forms & Reports)
OutLook:- MS OUTLOOK 2003.

Hi Everyone,
I have found one strange thing whenever i try to run the report(on my colleagues machine) that is being called from the forms independently from the Oracle Reports and set the BACKGROUND parameter to YES the first message from outlook appears "A program is trying to access e-mail addresses your have stored in outlook.Do you want to allow this?"
but the second message " A program is trying to send an email on your behalf" does appear at all.
It opens the "OUTLOOK MESSAGE WINDOW" asking for a user interaction to send the mail ,would be glad if anyone could light on as to why the BACKGROUND parameter is not working and if there any windows setting to allow this.

How to send internal table data through mail from report in foreground

hi all,
iam trying to convert the internal table data into excel format and sending it through mail by runnning the report in foreground.
mail is going sucessfully with excel format,but iam facing the problem in the excel format of the material column as follows:
the matrno shows the wrong format -2.63E+11 instead of displaying correct format-263215000000.
Pls suggest the alternative process for the above mentioned problem.

Hi Siva,
Try to copy 263215000000 in one of the cells of excel sheet and press enter.It will automatically convert into -2.63E+11 .
This means the default formatting of the excel sheet makes this happen.If you convert the format of the cell to "NUMBER" then u will get the required result.
But I doubt whether or not it is possible through ABAP programming.

Sending Mail from Oracle forms or reports

I have to send mail from forms or reports . Is there any way or builtin to do this.
If anybody have experience in this please give the

Look at http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/pl_sql/htdocs/maildemo_sql.txt
It creates a package in the database for sending mail.
If you want to send mail from the local machine using Outlook, you'll have to use OLE, but it's not something I've tried.

I have to change the sender-Adress from Report-Mail. Can somebody tell me how I have to configure the sender-Adress. At the moment I get the sender-Adress oracle@<servername> when destype=mail.

You can specify the e-mail address in the parameter FROM.
destype=mail FROM=[email protected]

Mail Report from Report previewer

I have problem to generate the reports from report previewer.When I tried to generate it gives me an error rep-1249 formual has no value. While on the other hand I can generate from report builder it run fine.

I try to send a mail via Report Builder, and I got the following error message:

We use the Lotus Notes R5 mail, not Microsoft Outlook or exchange. Could the Report Builder support it?
