Mail from SBWP
Hello to all.
I am trying to send emails from the SBWP but I have a problem. Whether in the list of addresses I write only an address everything works perfectly but when I put two addresses the mail cannot be sent and when pass the time until the process of sending is activated I receive a message saying that have not be able sent any of the addresses. The explanatory texts are not of any help. Only it puts: system failure 1.
Is it necessary to change something into SCOT to be able to send more of one address simultaneously?
Thank you for your answer, Sandeep, but the problem continues. I have been asking and I know that this might do because other persons from other systems also have said to me that they can do it. But from my system I do not obtain it. To seeing if someone had a similar problem and he(she) remembers that (he,she) changed in order that it was working.
Thanks to all

Sending mails from SBWP to MS Outlook
Hi,
I'm trying to configure SMTP in my SAP system. I'm successful in getting notifications and alerts generated by a program into my inbox in SBWP. Can somebody please tell me how do I configure it to receive them into my email Inbox in Outlook? What are the changes should I make from the regular configuration. I followed the SAP Note: 455140 for configuring SMTP.
Thanks in Advance,

Sending OUTLOOK mail from Workflows
HI ,
Please help me in getting out of this error encountered during a sample workflow thing.
Here is the requirement I need to send a OUTLOOK mail from SAP.If the user accepts the workflow task then mail need to send a recipient ,stating that he accepthed the request.
Below I designed that task.
In send Mail step I added the recipent thing as stated below. But I was unable to send mail to OUTLOOK .In this I am not even getting notification in my SBWP in SAP INBOX.
How should i send the mail to OUTLOOK from SAP.Hi Ranjith,
Here's some friendly advice for you:
- don't post the same question twice
- if you get a specific error message ('wait for communications service'), try investigating it yourself by googling it.
In this case, your issue is almost certainly with your mail setup - you can confirm this by trying to send a mail from SBWP to an external address. If so, it's a Basis issue, not workflow. You can safely hand it off to your Basis team.
cheers

How to receive mails from External mail ids to SAP SBWP
Dear Experts!!!!!
Gud Evening and Wish you all a HAPPY DIWALI !!!!!!!!
I have requirement like suppose say I have my company mail id for eg: abc<AT>xyz<DOT>com and also have a gmail ID. My login ID in sap is say BASIS. Normally, if I configure SMTP with our exchange server then I can send mails from SAP to my company ID and also gmail ID.
Similarly, I want to know like what needs to be configured for receiving mails in to SAP if I send mails from my compnay ID or gmail ID. To be more precise...my interest is mostly from Gmail i.e., if I send a mail from my Gmail ID, I should be able to see the mail in SBWP of my BASIS login.
Please suggest how this can be acheived.....
Thanks & Regards,
SharathHi Sharath,
Generally it is not recommended to configure income mail on SAP.

Mail body from SBWP always as attachment
Hi there,
I want to send simple mails from Business Workplace to external users (internet address).
The problem is, that the body always comes as attachment (txt-file) with the mail to the user. Not as body text in his mail client.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
BerndHello Bernd,
It is working as design. If you use the disclosure, than it will be
put in the body, and all previous mail parts will be sent as attachment.
The reason behind is, that SAP do not want to modify the original body
of the mail.
If you want to have a different behaviour, than you can design an own
send program, where you put the disclaimer in the body itself.

Can not send mail from PR Workflow to the approver
Dear all,
I have issues about send mail from PR Workflow to the approver.
Now when user create PR and the corresponding user can receive the workflow items in SBWP.
But no email from the user to approver.
If I assign authorization SAP_ALL to the user that create PR. The approver can recieve the workflow item PR in SBWP and email to their mail
Can you tell me about the authorization that can allow the user to send the workflow item PR in SBWP and email to the approver?
Now user can send mail to external and internal mail and I also configured the mail server in SCOT and can successfully send a mail to users in SO01 by manually creating a message.

SCOT - How to send a mail from mail server to a SAP system
Dear SAP colleagues,
With SCOT you can configure the SAPConnect administration.
You can easily configure your SAP system to allow the send of email from SAP to your mail server.
Exemple :
1. SID SAP : DL1
2. Mail server : sn1exch.lec.local
3. Target email : "myeamailaddress"
Send email process 01 : 1. DL1 ==> 2. Mail Server ==> 3. You read your email in your inbox "myeamailaddress"
My problem :
From my inbox "myeamailaddress", I want to be able to send email to SAP (Dl1).
Send email process 02 : 1. My inbox "myeamailaddress" ==> 2. Mail Server ==> 3. SAP (DL1).
Question :
Do you have any help to configure it ?
Thanks in advance for your input.
Best regards
NetWeavAdminDear Olivier,
I do not have a specifi technical problem.
Let's summarize - my request concerns a SRM Workflow :
I am ordering an article. When the order is higher than 2'000 USD, I need to get the approval of my manager.
That's the workflow.
Workflow :
1. I am user in DL1 SAP System.
UserName : CharlesN
In SU01,
charles(a)green.com
2. From DL1 SAP system, I order articles. The order total amount is higher than 2'000 USD.
In the workflow, an mail from DL1 is automatically send to my manager in his MS-Outook inbox.
(manager(a)green.com)
3. My manager reads the mail I have sent him and give his approvals by clicking on a approvals button.
When clicking the button, an mail must be automatically send from my manager MS-Outlook inbox
to DL1 to CharlesN inbox in SBWP in DL1 SAP system.
I have configured SCOT and read OSS Note 455140.
The SAPconnect virtual host is activated in DL1 (SICF).
I think a miss a step in our mail server to relay a mail from MS-Outlook to my SAP system.
Any suggestion is welcome.
Best regards -
Program to send mails from an ABAP program
Hello,
I found the following program on the internet. When i run it i get the status as mail sent, but actually the mail is not delivered to the recipients email address. If i check tcode SBWP, a copy of the sent mail sits in outbox even though it is not actually delivered to the receivers. The domain name is set properly in tcode SCOT. Any attempt to send mail directly using tcode SBWP works fine and a copy of the mail goes in outbox. However mails from the program only go in outbox but are not actually sent.Pls help. Problem in Automatic forwarding from sbwp into outlook
Hi,
We are using the stanard workflow for training approval (WS01200151). Here there is a task which sends notification after approval from manager into the employees SBWP. We have enabled the automatic forwarding from SBWP but inspite of that it is not queueing into SCOT and hence not going into the users inbox.
We have created a custom task which sends email cancellation notification to the manager after employee has cancelled his booking. This is getting queued in SCOT and moving into the manager's outlook.
Can anyon please help???
Thanks and Regards,
PinkiHi Pinki,
Who are you sending the mail to? Is it an SAP user?
Does the user receive the mail in their SBWP?
Is the problem only that the mail is not bbeing forwarded to their outlook/lotus notes?
Is the autoforwarding active in SO12 and if you send a mail to the SAP user via SBWP is it then forwarded to their email address?
Regards,
Eddie -
Hi all,
I had this question from one of my users. She is trying to send an express message to another SAP user via SBWP.
Recipient = Valid SAP User ID
Recipient Type = B (SAP LOGON NAME)
Express Checkbox was checked.
However when I check from SOST, the mail is being sent out as Internet mail to the outlook email id of the recipient. How do we send an Express message from SBWP.
Regds
ThiruWhat did you select at the Agent Assignment I mean User or Expression
Upto my knowledge Express mails are Client dependent
For example if you are sending a *Express mail from Client 100 to a SAP user and if the recevier is not logged into the Client 100 then he cannot see any sort of Express message saying that you got a mail
Check it
Because here in my case it is working fine Iam able to send to vairous SAP users -

How restore aol sent mac mail from time machine?
I am using mac mail and an imap connection to aol. I also have a time capsule and use time machine for backing up. Yesterday I stopped receiving incoming mail in mac mail and tried deleting the aol account in mac mail and then setting it up fresh. I was shocked to find that my 25,000 AOL sent emails did not restore! I was told by an apple genius bar rep several months ago that once mail was on my machine that the emails would NEVER be lost. Apparently this is not true. When I open mac mail and go into my time capsule using time machine, however, do not see the SENT mail icon under AOL--it goes away? When I try to restore the aol mail from the day before the incident the only thing that comes up is the one Sent Mail mssg that I sent AFTER the deleting and restoring of my AOL account in mac mail. The only relevant post I have found is the one below which was posted in 2008. Please let me know there is a way to get back my sent messages. I can't get them directly from the aol server because the server does not save messages that are sent from any client but AOL. Thanks.

Restoring Apple Mail and Your Emails from Time Machine
filed under: How-To tags: mail, timemachine Tuesday, January 29, 2008, 11:31 am
UPDATE (25 August 2010): Please note that this post is well over 2 years old and as Tim pointed out in the comments below, this method may not be the best solution for restoring emails. According to his restore efforts, changes where made to the timestamp from the date in which they were received to the date in which they were restored. I have not tested this myself.
The hard drive on my PowerBook completely died the other day, but I luckily had been running Time Machine backups since upgrading to Leopard. (I wasn’t all that ****** off seeing as I was eager for an excuse to replace my wimpy 40Gb hard drive with a new 160Gb drive). I fumbled a bit, looking for a specific Apple Mail restore tool. I knew where all my emails lived, but I thought that Apple would have a specific means for restoring apps like Mail. So I created this mini-tutorial on how to restore Apple Mail from Time Machine simply because I could not find this method elsewhere.
Supposedly, If you attach your Time Machine backup drive, open Apple Mail then launch the Time Machine application, you are presented with historical views of Apple Mail. This did not work for me, the historical views were just blank, so the steps below do not take this approach.
Restoring Your Emails from a Time Machine Backup
Warning: If you have already setup Apple Mail with your accounts and preferences, this will negate ALL your doings.
Note: This process will restore all your email accounts, preferences, passwords, smart mailboxes, etc.
The How-To
Before loading Time Machine, open the Finder and navigate to Home Folder (username) -> Library. In there will be a folder name “Mail”. Rename it to “Mail (default)” (Select the folder then hit the Return key to rename).
Mount your Time Machine Backup Drive (ahem, plug it in).
Control + Click the Time Machine Application and chose “Browse Other Time Machine disks…”. This, of course, brings up the historical view of your backups.
Go back to your most recent backup (2nd window back) and navigate to Home Folder (username) -> Library. Select the “Mail” folder and click the restore button (bottom right).
Once the restore is completed, open Apple Mail and you will be presented with an import wizard (below). Simply follow through the prompts and you will be good to go.
That’s it!UPDATE (20-January-2009): After step 4., also restore ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plistThanks Jon C.
If you have multiple mail accounts, you should also restore the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist file as well. This will ensure all of your account settings are imported. – Jon C.

Pdf extension changes to .dat when send a file via e-mail from adobe acrobat 9
to convert a file from microsoft word 2007 to PDF and send as an attachment via e-mail from adobe 9, the file is received with the extension changed to. dat, so recipients can not open it.
Can anyone help me with this. What is the OS of the sending computer?
What mail client?
I receive plenty of files on my PC as .dat files, which come from Mac user(s), rename the extension to what I think they ought to be and have no further problem. (I cannot change the senders email settings where the problem originates)
If the receiver knows it is a pdf file, they can drag it into Acrobat, but renaming the extension serves future use. -
Cannot send mail from mac mail or Entourage
Hi guys,
Wondered if anyone out there can shed some light on this little problem.
I use Entourage for my emails & all was working fine until yesterday. I can receive mail from all and sundry but I can't send anything. I subscribe to ntlworld internet service and if log onto my email through their webmail, then it's fine. I've tried sending mail from mac mail and I get the same problem. I've been onto microsoft support & gone through all the troubleshooting with Entourage. The Entourage techy suggested it was my internet provider blocking my emails as they think I'm a spammer?? I phoned ntl & they insist it's nothing to do with them as I can send/receive from the website. (If I send an email with the address @ntlworld it's fine, but any other address i.e. all my clients/mates etc just stays in my outbox.
Nothing on any of my settings has changed so I'm at a loss what to do next.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Melit may be that your server (internet provider) has just started blocking outgoing mails not authenticated by them.
Go to your account set up...
and fill in the following details.
SMTP SERVER: smtp.mac.com
then click on advanced sending otions...
click on override default SMTP port... type 587
click on SMTP servber requires authentication...
use same setting as receiving mail server.
try this...
