Mail Group addresses not the same as Address Book contact group addresses.
A group in my Address Book does not show up in my Mail address book the same. The Mail addresses for my group includes ALL my contacts. How do we fix this problem? I am afraid to send a group e-mail in case it goes to everyone else in my address book. We set up the group in the address book via drag and drop.
That's what I thought.... Although when I log on to Mobile Me through the internet the sender's name there appears just like it does in my address book, so I thought there would be a way to set it in mail.

The broadband modem got broken and the ISP changed it to a new modem. Now my problem is I cannot use the router when they changed the modem. The ISP won't provide support since they didn't provide me with the wireless router. I've read through the forum and found that I had to change my router's IP address. WRT54G router IP address is the same as my modem's IP address, 192.168.1.1. I already changed the local IP address of the router to 192.168.1.2, saved the setting, released and renew the ip address. Now, when I connected my internet modem cable to the router, I cannot connect to the internet. I am able to ping 192.168.1.2 but I cannot connect to the ping 192.168.1.1. Please help me do the proper setup.
Thanks!Hello! I solved my problem but I find the solution so weird. After changing the routers IP address to 192.168.1.2, instead of plugging the modem cable on the Internet port of the router, I plugged it in one of the WAN ports. Presto, it worked. Even my wireless connection is also working.

The picture in Messages is not the same as my iCloud/Contacts Me Card
Messages has pictures of yourself on one side and who you are chatting with on the other. I changed my account picture on my Mac and used the same one for Contacts. I went to iCloud.com and changed it there also. Messages on the Mac still shows the old picture. It's driving me crazy. I've signed out of iCloud, deleted keychain entries double checked everywhere that I have an account picture and can't find where to change it or how to change it. I'm not finding anyone with the same problem on these boards so far either.

After reviewing your post it seems you are unable to access your iCloud account due to a forgotten password. You can reset your iCloud password by following the steps in the article below:
iCloud: Change your iCloud password
Your iCloud password protects the privacy of the information (such as your email) stored in iCloud. Your password also protects your ability to locate or remotely erase your device using Find My iPhone. You should regularly change your iCloud password to protect your information. Your iCloud password is the password for the Apple IDyou use to sign in to iCloud.
Important: If you use the same Apple ID for iCloud as you do with other Apple services such as the Apple Online Store, iTunes Store, App Store, or to purchase products in iPhoto or Aperture, changing your iCloud password also changes your password for these services. Make sure you sign in to those locations using your new password.
Go to the My Apple ID website (appleid.apple.com) and follow the instructions to reset your Apple ID password.

After changing your iCloud password, make sure you update it on all your devices and in any email apps you use to get your iCloud email.

Probably incredibly simple question, so sorry. I have just changed e-mail after many many years and I want to e-mail everyone in my mac mail client with the new e-mail address at the same time.
If you are using Address Book, open it, create a new Group, select all you contacts by click the top one while holding down the shift key and then select the last one. Drag the contacts to the group, then send an e-mail to the group.

I have a hotmail email address. I compose my mail useing MS outlook. when i send the mail to my contacts useing my macbook air,my contacts tell me there have not received the mail.
when i send the same message with my ipad or iphone no problem my contacts receive the mail.

I am trying to read my iMessages from my iPhone 4S on my iPad 2, but the messages do not show up on my iPad 2. I made sure that the receiving email address is the same on both devices and both are signed into my single Apple account.
Is it possible that the person who sent the message to your phone sent it to your phone # instead? Try sending a message to your phone via the email address and see if it shows up on the iPad.

As I understand it you want to have more than 1 email address under your Apple ID. You can have what are called Alternate Email addresses associated with your Apple ID and this article will help you get those setup:
Manage your Apple ID primary, rescue, alternate, and notification email addresses
Alternate email address
You can add one or more alternate email addresses for use with Apple services such as Game Center, FaceTime, Find My Friends, iMessage, and OS X notifications.
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com).
Select “Manage your Apple ID” and sign in.
Add an alternate address:
Select Add Email Address, then enter your alternate address. Apple will send a verification email to that address. Didn't receive the email?
Follow the instructions in the email to verify the address.
Edit an alternate address:
Select Edit next to the address, then enter the new address. Apple will send a verification email to that address. Didn't receive the email?
Follow the instructions in the email to verify the address.
Delete an alternate address: Select Delete next to the address.

Itunes shows an album in library but tells me I am not authorised to use it - I go through the whole id authorisation process and it still says the same, I purchased it three email addresses ago.
What do you mean three email addresses ago? Do you mean that you've had three accounts in the store with three separate email addresses? Purchases must be authorized according the account details under which they were purchased. You can Get Info on the tracks and see the account name they were purchased with. How do I set up two email address on the same account?
Using Mail in Mac OS X 10.6.2 and moving to Mac for the first time, I have been unable to set up two email addresses on the same account. Entering them, separated by commas, as advised in the Help does not seem to work. I have tried making them both the same password and have tried separating the passwords with a comma but no luck. Unable to set up another account for the second address because it correctly tells me that the account already exists.
Is there a way?

AllanGlenAfter a comprehensive trial and error session, using a new Guest Account each time to be sure of no contamination from the previous trial, I have finally cracked it!
The problem was logging on to the outgoing server.
Setting up the first account was fairly straightforward but if I allow Mail to do it automatically I am unable to send because Mail has defaulted to 'Authentication Required' when my server does not require it. Setting the account manually without authentication enables send and receive to work OK.
If i try to set up the second account automatically, Mail crashes.
If I set it up manually and choose 'No Authentication', Mail crashes.
If I set it up manually and choose 'Authentication Required' and enter the full email address as the User Name together with password, Mail crashes.
If I set it up manually and choose 'Authentication Required' and enter the first part of the email address together with password, Mail crashes.
However, if I set it up manually and choose 'Authentication Required' and enter the first part of the email address as User Name and no password, Mail accepts it and sets up the account.
At this point the account receives mail but cannot send it.
If I go into the Mail preferences and try to edit the outgoing server details, Mail will not accept no Authentication.
I eventually found that if I uncheck the 'Always Use This Server' box, all account then use the server on the first account, which is correctly set up.
Now I have my four email accounts all able send and receive.
One little concern remains. In Outlook Express I could look at the properties of a received email and see what address it had come from, together with many other details. I haven't found out yet whether this can be done in Mail. I just wonder whether if I reply to some email, it will appear to have come from a different address from the one it was sent to.

Sending email using Exchange 2013 defined email addresses not the account email address.
Currently we are using exchange 2013. Let's say a user has a mailbox account defined that has a default email reply address of [email protected] Now I define additional email address for the same account. When the user tries to send an email he can only send from
the default email address. Is it possible to send from a defined email anndress and not the default account email address?

How do I change my default email on the "Me" contact from a Facebook email to my normal email address in the same contact? Or at least change it for the autofill information?
Perfernece for contact to change. Do I just have to dis-associate my contact fromt the facebook account? Is only the autofill changable?If you allow Facebook to access your contacts and you have the @facebook.com email alias turned on, it will add the @facebook.com email to your contact info, and because it has the fixed label of "email" it overrides every other email address.
They didn't fix this in iOS 8.
There are two ways to remove the @facebook.com email from your contact info:
If you don't need your Facebook friends and their info updating your contacts, go into iOS Settings -> Facebook and turn off access to Contacts.
If you don't use your @facebook.com email address (all it does it forward to the primary email address) you can go into the Facebook app, More -> Settings -> General -> Email -> and uncheck "Use your Facebook email". Removing it from Account Emails does not work, you have to turn it off. Once you do this, go to iOS Settings -> Facebook and turn Contacts off and on again to make it update your info. The @facebook.com address should be removed. -
Sharing iCal calendar on iCloud. Sending email address is the same for everyone.
A group of us share a calendar so we all know each other's schedules. The problem is when sending or accepting meeting invitations, it always comes from the email address that is associated with the iCloud account. Can we change it for each system? Each local system should have iCal associated with their email address, not the base one.
It won't let me change my Apple ID email address it says "Email address is already verified for another Apple ID." when I try to change my email adress. The thing is, I have no other apple id's that I know of...Any help?

I want to use the same name for my icloud email address as my .mac name
My name for all of my yahoo, gmail, .mac email accounts are al the same. I'd like to use the same name for my icloud account. It tells me that the name is not available but I'm pretty sure no one else would have chosen it. Is the fact that I've used it for my .mac email address somehow blocking it's availability? There is some confusion in my mind about your post. Let me describe what I think you mean, let us know if I misunderstood...
I'm assuming you already have an Apple ID that you used to define an iCloud account (or an older dot mac account), and the iCloud account has "[email protected]" as its email address. But the Apple ID for this account is not the same as the email address I just listed, perhaps your apple ID is something like "xyz@???.com" and what you want is to use the ID, "mySpecialName@???.com". [the "???" could be mac, icloud, or something else]
If I've got it right so far, then when creating a **new** Apple ID, you must now use @icloud.com. If you are trying to define "[email protected]", then that is the problem - "mySpecialName" is already associated with @icloud.com, because your current @mac.com also has [email protected] as an alias, so that name is no longer available.
Also, you cannot change the current ID from "xyz" to "mySpecialName" on an existing account. So either way, you can't get the ID that you desire.

My billing information is correct however iTunes won't accept it. I have tried changing it to "no" card, my statements from the banks are addressed to the same address. What the **** is going on?!
Debit cards already in an account seem to keep working, but many people have reported that when entering or updating a card that debit cards are now rejected, and they're not listed in the accepted payment methods.
As to your issue, only the iTunes Store can help you with this. I understand the irritation, but please note that the U2 free offer is just a single song, not an entire album, so we're only talking about $.99 if you miss out but still want the track. Not a big deal, in my humble opinion.
