Mail-how to send to a list without entering ea as individual contact?

I sent email reminders monthly to a group of about 20 email addresses. I don't even know most of the people & there are changes each month with additions & deletions. In Eudora on my old Dell I just had a contact with the whole list in it. Then when i got the MacBookPro I was syncing to a windows mobile phone for biz so I synced to Outlook. Outlook woudln't let me have a group contact but I finally figured i could but the list in the bcc field. Then each month I just opened the previous month's email & said to send again & edited it.
I finally got my emails imported from both Eudora & Outlook to mail. But I find that I can't even see the contents of the bcc field from the mo before--its blank.
OK, I thought I could copy the list & then paste it in each time. I have the list with the name of the person followed by their email address. I had originally entered it by putting brackets around the email addresses. But in the list the email addresses are showing as a link. OK. But I tried copying it into both Note & also tried Pages & then tried copying from there into Mail.
In both Note & Pages the email addresses show as a link, but when I paste the list into the bcc field of a Mail email it just shows them with a space between the name & the email address with the email address not being set apart.
This is getting more & more complicated--what was easy in the Free Sponsored Eudora, & not too bad in Outlook. But right now after trying what worked before, it doesn't look like any of the solutions are going to work.
If I could copy them in from a list & paste them in, I could live with that, but it doesn't look like that is going to work at all since in the other programs they are links which seem to be lost when pasted into Mail.
I also tried pasting the list into the body of an email & from there to the bcc field but again, it seemed lose its formatting so that it recognized the email addresses.
Any suggestions on how to have a group list that I can send without them all displaying to everyone & use mo after mo?
OK, I just tried retyping a couple of the names with brackets around the email address in Pages & copying it into the bcc field & it looked like it worked. I guess that might work. But is there are way to convert the links in pages to I guess it would be html with the brackets around?
Or any other suggestions?

The issue is that, as I said in my original post, I'm trying to figure out how to do it without setting up each of the people in addressbook. A couple of them I know & they are in Addressbook. Most of them I don't know & don't really want to have to set each 1 up individually. I read something about that I could enter all the contacts in a field & the little blue bubble around the contact nickname would appear, but so far it isn't working with pasting the list in. For practically all of the contacts, I have the name then the email address for example: John Smith [email protected] On the list, the emails show as links in Pages or in Note, but when I paste them into the to or bcc field, the link appears to disappear.
So I need some way to set up a group of email addresses as a contact without setting them up individually in Addressbook.
I'm frustrated since this was so simple to do in Eudora (which I don't have on my Mac--was using it in Windows before coming back to mac.) Again, I don't want to set them all up as individual contacts to clutter up my addressbook since I don't even know many of them.
btw, tried to respond sooner but in the middle of it they were updating this part of the site so I couldn't. Then had the S California power failure here yesterday so not internet.

You can use iCloud:
Step 1. Log into www.icloud.com using your Apple ID.
Step 2. Click on Contacts and then click the groups ribbon (the red icon with two people) which is on the left-hand page when viewing All Contacts.
Step 3. The left page changes to a list of Groups (only those groups stored in iCloud are shown). Click the + button at the bottom to add a new group.
Step 4. Type a name for the new group and press Enter to save it. To change it after this, double-click its entry in the groups list.
Step 5. To add contacts to the new group, click on the All Contacts group and locate the first person to be added (you can use the search bar to find them quickly).
Step 6. Drag their name on top of the new group and drop it to add it to that group.
Step 7. To add more contacts, repeat steps 5 and 6, but you can add multiple contacts at once by pressing Ctrl (on a PC) or Command (on a Mac) and clicking on each contact in the list that you wish to select. Then, drag one of the highlighted names to the new group and they will all be added.
It's possible to add names to more than one group, and you can create as many groups as you like.
Step 8. Launch the Contacts app on your device (iPhone, iPod touch or iPad) and you should see the new group appear almost immediately - as long as you have an internet connection.
Until Apple builds in a function to create groups directly within the Contacts app, this is the best way to do it.

The other poster has only given a partial answer, so I thought I'd better post as its now something of a specialist subject for me.
Groups in your device are a means to group together all your contacts for friends, work colleagues etc. in your address book. they are normally created in a Mac or Windows PC address book and synched across. However your device can't send email to everyone in those groups at once using the default apps. (The reason Apple chose to do this is probably that contacts can have one, many or no email addresses, so there isnt a direct relationship between these groups and how you'd want to email them.)
There are a number of apps available which let you define groups and send email to them inside a custom app, this works well but you can only send mail to groups from inside their app, so you can only include attachment types they have thought of, and have no means to forward a received email with attachments to a group.
The only app that takes a different approach is our MailShot app, this creates special group contacts in your address book. They can be used to send email to a MailShot group from inside your favourite apps, just like it was built into the iPhone. By using them in Mail you can forward emails to a group of people, with attachments intact, or by using them from a different app, like GoodReader or Google Maps, you can send whatever attachments those apps create.
Mailshot will be back in the App store next week, free to try with an in-app upgrade available to increase the number of groups and contacts it handles.

How to send an updated list using batch job

Hi All,
The program displays data on the screen, if the data looks ok, then there is an option to update.
When I run update, the program submits a batch job and the basic list gets updated, but my batch job is still sending the data on the screen. how can i send the updated list using batch job.
Ex: output of the program

       there is an update button on the screen, when i press update button, my program submits in batch job, the above list becomes

How to clear a cursor list without clearing the first row??

I'm having this problem , that i'm using the first row ín a cursor list as a cursor in another graph. The rest of the rows are used as test sets i can add. So when finnish with the tests if some was set, i have to delete or clear the cursorlist(but only the tests and not the first wich is the pointcursor) byy using the graphs cursor list proberty node ' Crsr.List ' and initialising it as showed in picture 1.
Picture 2 shows the cursor list with some test and the cursor name (point cursor) and properties at top. These properties are directly copied to another graph cursor list also at the top and there the point cursor is used as the cursor. The tests are also copied to the other graph cursor list, but when deleting the tests by 'clear button' all data are cleared also the point cursor. That is my problem.
so the question is, how can i clear a cursor list without clearing the first raw and its proberties. any suggestions would be much help for me.

The cursor list is just an array so you can delete the elements that you don't want.

How to send an attached folder without compressing?

When using Mail 2.1.3 on 10.4.11 and sending more than one photo, I like to put them in a folder, so they get better organized. However, the application Mail will zip this folder on sending. Sometimes my recipients (on PC) have then difficulties opening this zipped folder. I don't want to tell them "you should install this and that application for unzipping".
In settings of Mail I find no checkbox for this- it does it by itself...
Is there any way to send an attached folder without compressing it, just plain?

Maybe I did not explain clearly enough. Let's say I have ten JPEGs. I make a new folder in Finder, call it "Pictures" or so, put the JPEGs in it and then, after writing the mail, I click "attach" and select the newly generated folder so that it will be attached. In the outgoing window of the mail I see it then as the "Pictures" folder. The recipient then gets the mail with an attachment called "pictures.zip" that calls for an unzip application in order to take a look at those JPEGs.
Now the problem is, Mail app will automatically make a zip out of it. Yes, I have "Send PC-compatible" turned on. I use, b.t.w. plain text, not formatted. Some recipients have no problems with the zip, I know, but some do have.
I want Mail to send the folder without zipping it. Making it a little bit smaller in size is (indeed only a little bit!), in many cases, not necessary and, like I wrote, often only confusing (especially when the recipient PC asks "...this is a programme, do you want it to open?- Of course, most reasonable users are afraid of those messages!).
The point is, my application is doing something that I don't want and I find no way to tell it "please, no".

Maybe this one is easy as it sounds, I just want to know how to create a little list for my SharePoint application featuring 3 columns:

Yes, you can do that. If you need a different content type with your custom fields. Following are the steps : http://www.dotnetcurry.com/ShowArticle.aspx?ID=620
After creating your custom Content Type, Click on the 'Title' filed in your custom content type.
In the 'Column Settings' make it 'Hidden (Will not appear in forms)' and click ok.
Now add this content type to your list/library.
In the list/Library go to setting and 'Advance settings' and make the 'Allow management of Content Type?' as 'yes' and click ok.
Now make default content type not visible from 'Change new button order and default content type' link in the settings page of list/library, and your contet type as 'Default'.
Create a new view, remove the 'Title' field and make that view as 'dafault' view, you can delete the 'All Items' view also if required.
Now whenever user come to that list/Library they will not see the title column and also will not appear in the 'New Item'.
Note : The 'Title' field is mandatory in all the list/library and by default added to the 'All Item' view. So, by doing above steps you are creating a new content type where 'Title' is not mandatory and also not added in default view.

It took me a moment to remember where this was!
1. Open the iTunes app on your Mac and Sign out of your account (Store menu.)
2. Without signing back in go to the iTunes App Store and buy a free app that you already have*.
3. A dialog box will pop up for you to sign into your account. When signing in, be sure to tick the box that says Remember password.

Mail - how to send to large number of recipients?

How can I send an email to a large number of recipients that I hold addresses for in a document without a) adding them to my contacts, and b) so that they can't all see each others addresses?

I thought about using BCC, but it seems a little messy although it would do the job.
Messy how? That's exactly what it's for. In fact, there's no other way to hide addresses from other recipients of the message. The only other way to do it would be to script automated sending of one message per address, and that would get quite messy!
What is the maximum number of recipients that Mail can handle?
There's no limit enforced by Mail, AFAIK. The limits come from the SMTP server you're using.
One of the issues I had when using Outlook on Windows for this by copying and pasting from a text document, was that if there was an invalid/non-existent address in the list, it would just return an error and I was never quite sure if the whole thing didn't send, or if it was just to the dodgy address(es).
In Mail, you'll just get a bounce message for any addresses that don't exist. The one exception to that is addresses on the same server that you're sending from... often, the server will simply reject the attempt to send to an address that it knows doesn't exist. I'm not sure what kind of message the server returns in that case, though, and suspect it depends on the server. It's been a while since I've seen such a problem.

How do you select multiple recipients without having to open the contacts list each time

Just upgraded to Yosemite...not really impressed with the overall look but...can live it. Using mail, if you did not want to send to an entire group, you could scroll through and select all the desired addresses at one time. Now it appears that you have to click on the "plus sign", select one address, have it close then repeat the same process over and over. Sorry, not an improvement if this is the way it is designed to work. Any ideas on how to do this?

Thanks for the input. I am not sure why they changed the old system....is there any way to force the contact box to stay open? Not being able to scroll down a list and select multiple selections is a big step back. Hopefully Apple will get the message.

Mail: how to send out emails with graphics embedded?

I'm just wondering if the protocol has changed ...
I'm wanting to send out multiple emails with a graphic, that will open in diverse Browsers, Apple and PC. Is there a way to do it without having to embed the graphic somewhere up on the web and write a bunch of html?
Or, what IS the protocol these days? A direct to a tutorial would be most appreciated,

If the graphics files are not uploaded to a web server, i.e., if you want them included in the email message, then they must be sent as attachments. That is the only way to send non-text via email. Different email programs have different ways of displaying attachments. Some will show only icons, some will only show a list of attachments. Some like Mail will show the contents of the graphic file within the message. If your recipient is using a program that cannot show embedded graphics, then nothing you do on your end will change that.
Email simply not a medium in which you have precise control over what the recipient will see.
