Mail iCloud account setting of iPhoto

What parameters do I use to dscribe my iCloud email account setting in iPhoto 11? I have found that the settings automatically created by iCloud in Mail will not work in iPhoto.

Your profile states that you are using Mac OSX 10.6.8, if that is the case iCloud will not work with your computer and you will be unable to use photo stream with your iPhoto application.

No it is not possible. Content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently tied to the account from which it was originally purchased, and Apple does not provide a way to change it.

Two iCloud Accounts, one shared iPhoto library

I have a shared iPhoto library for two users, on an external HD. I have two iPhones, each with a separate iCloud accounts. Photos taken on each of the phones sync to the shared iPhoto library, but only the Photostream for the user who took the photo, but not the other user. I would like all photos taken on each phone to automatically sync to the other. I used to do this using the same iCloud account on each phone, but this is now not possible.
I'm using OS X Yosemite and iOS 8.1. Any ideas?

What we've done so far is to just use the one account which we set up on the iMac & just disabled the contact sharing. I was having a look on the macrumours website & news from the developers is that you can use two accounts but for some reason certain functions are disabled in the secondary account namely the iPhoto stream.

ICloud account set up failed

When trying to set up my iCloud account, I have never received the verification email. I have tried this over ten times. It says "a verification email will be sent to your email", but I have never received it. What should I do?

In my case my my AppleID email was not verified at the AppleID site https://appleid.apple.com/. Sending the verification from there worked for me.
However, the more common problem seems to be that if your email addy is on another of your Apple ID accounts as a secondary address that iCloud will not send a verification email. iCloud unhelpfully does not tell you that. It just fails to send the verification email.
You can search here for the email addy that will not get the confirmation email and it should tell you if it is associated with more than one account.

HT4897 I don't know previous icloud account set up on my old ipad, but I think the password was only 6 digits. How do I find out?

I had set a cloud name and a 6 digit password when I got my first iPad but don't remember name I used. Now I have a new mini ipod trying to give me a new one. What should I do? Assuming you want to share the same data (such as contacts and calendars) on all your devices, you should use the same iCloud account on all of them. You can find out the account name by going to Settings>iCloud on your iPhone and looking at the account name listed there in the Account field. That's the ID you want to use.
Are you also saying you don't remember the password for the ID?

I have had my ICloud account set up and everything but when I try to get the saved files( my IPod got restored) it didn't let me download them.

Suddenly I can't send emails on mac mail iCloud account. Actually I can, but only one line of text!!

It's really odd. I can send a 'blank' mail, even one with a few lines. Anything more than that and the activity window shows it 'trying' to send then it just stops. If I then try to send a short mail after any larger one this is also stopped. As an aside I also note from the activity window that mail appears to be downloading 1000's of messages but I don't see where these go. I have a few machines and all of them are experiencing the same issue. I have attempted uninstalling the account and then reinstalling it but no change. Does anyone know what this could be as it really is driving me nuts! I have used macs and mail for years and it's all been good until now.

That would be because the licensed copy of iPhoto on your Mac belongs to your father. Only he can update the app. Was this once his Mac?

When setting up my iCloud account I enter an erroneus e-mail and now can't verify that account to set up iCloud on my devices. Even if I delete the iCloud account the Apple ID account comes linked to that erroneous e-mail and can't continue on the iCloud account set up. How can I delete that erroneous e-mail account?

Two icloud accounts, one iPhoto stream

This icloud question may have already been answered so appologies if this is a duplicate post but me & my husband both have iphones with seperate apple ID's which sync with our imac, will we be able to sync both icloud accounts to our iphoto stream or will we have log in & out with our sepereate ID's or will it be best to just use the one account for both?

IPhoto, two users, two iCloud accounts

I am trying to come up with the best solution to a problem and I am a bit stumped. Hope somone here can help me. Bought a MacBook a few months ago and love it. I like iPhoto as well. My wife and I both have a user account on the computer and in each account, there is an iPhoto library configured with our respective iCloud accounts to pull our photos from our iPhones. So far so good.
When we import photos from our regular camera, I use Image Capture to import them to a central spot on the SSD. I then open iPhoto and import those pictures. Then I have to switch user accounts and do the same import in my wife's iPhoto library, since she wants the photos as well. This is a bit cumbersome. I could share an iPhoto library between us in the Shared folder, but then we can only have one iCloud account synced with iPhoto. We each need our own iCloud account configured so that we can pull our pictures from our iPhones with ease. Does anyone have a suggestion for streamlining the import process from our regular camera?

Go to iPhoto Preferences and turn on Sharing.
Go to the Pictures folder of each user account, select the iPhoto Library and on the keyboard hit "command" + "i".
In the iPhoto Library Info window that appears, under the "Sharing & Permissions:" pane, add each other with the "+" and give each othe "Read & Write" priveleges.
Now you should be able to see and grab the photos you desire from the other user's library while you are in your iPhoto application.

How to get Photostream from 'business' iPhone to 'family' iCloud-account

Has anyone found a solution for this yet ?
There must be numerous pleople having this same problem :
I have a (in my opinon rather standard) setup in which I have a private iCloud-account on my 'business devices' (iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro) and I have a shared iCloud-account on our 'family' Mac.
Now I would like to arrange things the way that's most logical to me :
I want my business devices to sync the more 'business-like' iCloud services :
Mail
Contacts
Calendars
(Bookmarks is less important)
Documents & Data
Back to My Mac
Find My Mac
iTunes Store
Mac App Store
But I want my business devices to Photostream to our 'family' Mac's, since that's the device where our (only complete) iPhoto-library is on...
Now there seems to be no way to do so since :
- iCloud automatically uses the same iCloud-account for Photostream, Documents & Data, Back to My Mac and Find My Mac (only for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, iTunes and Mac App Store it is optional to use a different iCloud-account)
- setting up my business iCloud-account as the secondary iCloud-account on all my business devices would be completely un-logical and would not allow me to keep (especially) my Documents & Data 'business' ; they will be visible on our 'family' Mac, which is completely off bounds for my employer and my clients...
Has anyone found a solution to this ?
(or will this be solved in OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion maybe ?)
options I have thought about, but I couldn't get working yet :
- running a second installation of iPhoto on our 'family' Mac
- running both iPhoto and Aperture on our 'family' Mac
- getting the Photostream from my 'business' iCloud.com into our 'family' Mac by subscribing to the URL
- setting up one-and-the-same Eye-Fi account on my 'business' iPhone & iPad and on our 'family' Mac
- searching for a 3rd-party Mac-app that can read and/or import the 'business' Photostream info our 'family' iPhoto
- something involving Photoshop Elements 10 Organiser...
Any help would be helpful.

very interesting info, too bad however that Dropbox doesn't do auto-import into iPhoto...
I might have figured out a way to do this using Eye-Fi (free account, free iOS-app & free Mac-app ; by SanDisk) :
Eye-Fi seems to do auto-upload from iPhone/iPad, auto-transfer to a Mac (over WiFi, and if needed even over 3G it seems), and auto-import into iPhoto...
...it can even handle video upload (which iCloud Photostream can't)
and it has 'free temporary online viewing' with Eye-Fi View (which is kind-of like MobileMe Gallery...)
(and some payed extensions that are less interesting in my opinion)
...I'm testing right now if Eye-Fi works for me.
(Maybe I still need to combine it with Dropbox's auto-upload though...)

Note : Eye-Fi even has an option to upload to MobileMe... too bad MobileMe is no longer available... hopefully there will be integration with iCloud in the near future...
