Mail Icon indicates 1 message when there is none.

My mail icon shows that there is 1 message in my mail box when in fact it's empty. Is there any way of correcting this problem?

Maybe there is a message in a other folder, e.g. the spam folder. Tap on the "Inbox" top left on the screen. A window appears, in this window - again in the top left corner is a button with your account name. Tap on it and you will see the available folder. One more tap shows you all your mail accounts.

Please open your message icon and press the menu button(left of the trackball) and click saved messages. Are there any messages in there?

IPhone 4s has yahoo mail icon permanently on safari when there are no open pages

My iPhone 4s using iOS7.0.2 has a Yahoo mail icon displaying permanently on the top of Safari when there are no open pages. The icon did not disappear even when I deleted my Yahoo mail account. The icon also has my Yahoo username displayed below it. Is there any way I can remove the Yahoo mail icon from permanently displaying on Safari? I cleared my history, cookies and data, but the Yahoo icon is still there.

I have the same issue and koban4max's sugggestion doesn't work (well, it works, but you'll need to do it once a day.) I am surprised this hasn't been widely reported either as an iphone, Verizon or Yahoo issue. I tried various suggestions (deleting/re-adding account, moving messages to a new folder and changing password on computer/iphone, etc.) It will push for a while but stop pushing in a few hours or a few days. This leads me to believe somewhere in the interface corrupts the process. I would love to know if it's unique to Verizon, iphone 4S or IOS 5, or all of the above. The phone doesn't even fetch according to schedule, only when you are in the application. BTW, the Exchange push solution for Gmail works wonderfully.

OS X 10.5 Mail shows unread messages when there are none and get ghost messages

I have been searching for an ansswer to this delimma, but have found similar issues but none exactly the same. I run 10.6 server and have mixed network users of 10.6 and 10.5 clients. One of the users on 10.5 's mail app keeps showing unread messages, but there are no unread messages. When they click on another mail box in the mail client or another folder the number changes, but ther always seems to be one or two. The user also gets at least 2 blank e-mails in the mail app. I have check the users web mail account and there are no blank e-mail messages or spam. I tried to rebuild the mail box, and have also tried trashing the indexs, and they still get the same message. Short of creating a new user does anyone have any suggestions? None of my other users seem to have the same problem, although they do not use mail as much as this one user does.....

I get this issue every single day, and it is specifically reproducible. Here is the scenario:
1) I have two mail accounts configured on my iPhone, one is my work account and is disabled on the phone, the other is my gmail account which is always enabled on my phone
2) Each morning, when I head into work I enabled my work email account so I can start reading my work emails for the day. This downloads all the new messages from the server and displays them as unread.
3) I read some of them, but not all of them.
4) Once I get to my office, I read all of the rest of my new work emails from the Mail app on my MacBook Pro.
EXPECTED: The messages that are read on the mail app are updated as read messages
OBSERVED: On my iphone, not all of the messages have their statuses changed to read. Some of them always remain as unread messages
5) Next, I delete some of the messages read from my computer from the email server altogether.
EXPECTED: These messages would also appear deleted when using the mail app on my iPhone
OBSERVED: Not only are the messages not deleted, but they are still listed as unread
The only way to resolve this each day is for me to select each message and view it for a second to have the unread message indicator removed. I have to turn off the mail account and turn it back on for it to correctly sync with the mail server and correct the mistakes.
There is clearly a problem within the iPhone mail app with retrieving updates from the mail servers.
I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1 that I purchased in November. Before that, I had an iPhone 3G S and never experienced the issue on my 3G S. My MacBook Pro was used with both devices.

Voicemail icon lists new message when there isn't one

I have an iPhone 2g and recently upgraded to the 2.0 software. For the past two days, the phone icon (and then the voicemail section within it) shows one new message, but I've deleted all the voicemails I have. Why is this? How can I help my iPhone understand that the voice mailbox is empty?

same thing happened to me...i turned the phone completely off by holding the on/off switch on top. It asks you to "slide" the br to turn it off...do that...wait a few seconds and turn it back on.
It seems if you have a week signal, check the vmail and delete with the week symbol, the hone doesn't register you ever listened or deleted the message. Hope that helps!

Try a rest: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
you might also try deleting the mail account and re-adding it (in the Settings app).

Error In Displaying Message When There Is An Attachment

I am trying to display an error message in SharePoint 2013. I added the following code
inside my ItemAdding() event receiver to force it to have error:
properties.Status = SPEventReceiverStatus.CancelWithError;
properties.ErrorMessage = "test";
It
works okay, I can see the error message.
However, when I attach any files, and try again, after saving, the attachment will disappear.
When I attach again, I will get a server error:

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to display error message when there is an attachment.
You need to add “properties.Cancel = true;” to your ItemAdding() event receiver.
You can cancel the event using:
properties.Status = SPEventReceiverStatus.CancelWithError;
properties.Cancel = true;
properties.ErrorMessage = "test";
The properties.Cancel determines if the event should be cancelled. The default is false but once you set it to true it will cancel the event when the current execution ends.

This can be achieved if you are ready to do some coding...
U need to use implement BADI ORDER_SAVE..
Within this BADI u can have your business validations done...
If the Validations fails then you have to raise an exception DO_NOT_SAVE...
This is satisfy your requirment.....

How do I restore error message when there's not enough room to sync?

By default, iTunes displays an error message when there is not enough room on the iPod to store all the files that are scheduled for synchronization.
This message also has a checkbox for "Do not remind me again" (or something to that effect). The other day, I stupidly checked this box, and now I don't know how to restore the default setting (i.e., to display the error message). Instead, iTunes just silently does nothing -- with no diagnostic -- if it finds that there's not enough room on my iPod to complete a sync.
Any ideas?

Right click on your iPod in iTunes and select the Reset Warning option.

Up to now I was only mildly disappointed at the process of rebuilding mom's aging iMac. Basically, she needs to throw it away, sparing any subsuquent user the hassles I've endured 24/7 for the past 8 days or so... So, now I have a great, and utterly simple question which every single advanced user should know how to resolve. "Jean" -the main and only named user, is not an Administrator, and evidently it wants some other password to enter the space that would enable us to go any further.
I can firewire the drive, doctor it from my REAL Macintosh, and I can blank it out for a third time and start over, but eventually the motherboard is going to catch fire, that's a certainty. This brings into question the entire validity of rerstoring "Permissions"alltogether.

This may help:
Restore admin user status.
If your admin user loses admin status for whatever reason (and it has happened to a few people), and you do not have a second admin account, then try the following:
Boot into single-user mode. At the prompt enter:
mount -uw /
nicl -raw /var/db/netinfo/local.nidb -merge /groups/admin users your-username-here
Press RETURN after each command. To restart in OS X enter:
reboot
I recommend you write down these commands in a monospaced font. Be sure to carefully note where there are spaces in the command line.

E mail hacked. E mail accessible on web and yahoo app but cannot get it on usual mail icon. Get message "cannot connect to server" when I try to open the account which I deleted as it wasn't letting me see my mail.

My yahoo email was hacked. Changed password but since then unable to access account in usual way via "mail" icon.
Deleted yahoo account and tried to set it up again on I phone and I pad. Just keep getting message "cannot access server". Can read and send e mail via yahoo app but would like all e mail accounts back to under one icon. My I cloud account is still there.

the settings program will not allow me to enter any of those cells. the accounts section is all in grey scale (not black) and none will open including "add account"

Last night after checking mail and deleting everything (in, sent & trash) the mail icon still has the red dot with a two in it. Any thoughts?

Okay... Well I think I solved my own issue. There are two ways to delete messages in the messages app. You can swipe to the left, or you can click edit and delete it that way. The latter of which i didn't try as I thought they were synonymous. Turns out that it actually reset the new messages counter, and it now shows as no unread messages. Anyone having similar issues in the future be sure and delete messages using edit then clicking the red icon to the left of the message.

Mail icon shows new messages but cannot access them

I am setting up my email account on my new iPod Touch. Put in all the info, the account is verified, the mail icon shows 50 unread messages, but when I tap the icon I see the same old list of mail services, iCloud, MS Exchange, but not my account. My mail service, an independant, supports pop and iMac so I have set it up as both and neither works. Seems like it is logging into the account. Any idea?
