Mail in fullscreen - open two or more messages

Hi
In Mail, full screen view, I want to have two or three messages open at once, for instance to copy and paste from one to the other. It seems I can't. Just one message can be open. If that's my draft, I have to save it to drafts, close it, then open the other message I want to view, then close that one and open my draft again. In non-full-screen view, you can have as many messages as you want open at once.
Also, in full-screen, I can't change the size of the window of the open message, or move it around to look at the mesage list beneath.
Is this how it's meant to be or have I missed something?

Thanks for your interest, I find the reason why Internet Explorer 7 is left hanging, and that is that it seems that on certain occasions (which are not) does not support on the same page html two applets, thus commented on webutiljini.htm as follows there is no problem in open multiple tabs with different applications.

How can I attach a pdf file to outgoing mail without in opening up within the message?

You can use the Share button on Preview's toolbar. Choosing Email pops open Mail with the PDF already iconified as an attachment. If it doesn't behave this nicely for you, select the PDF in Mail and choose the right contextual menu, where you will find View as Icon. I also have Send Windows-Friendly attachments enabled.

  • Middle clicking links will sometimes open two or more tabs

I imagine this is probably a bug and nothing can be done. It SEEMS as if it's only happening since the latest update.
Basically, what happens is when I open a bunch of links with middle click (pretty sure it needs to be more than one), sometimes the links will create two or more tabs of that link

The dialog Firefox displays when you click the "close window" (X) button doesn't have the option to only close the current tab. Instead, you can use one of these methods to close just the current tab:
    * Click the "x" that should appear on the current tab itself
    * Right-click the current tab > Close tab
    * Press Ctrl+w to close the current tab
(Note: If you accidentally press Ctrl+w twice, you can re-open the tab by pressing Ctrl+Shift+t to Undo Close Tab)

  • Is it possible to have an application open two or more times on a my Mac

(ie MYOB)? My mac is Mac OS X ver 10.5.8. Its not possible to open more than one file at a time with MYOB unless you open the application again. This is possible with windows, but I am finding it a bit difficult with Mac. Any help with this matter would be deeply appreciated.

    Perhaps,
Install the application again, in a different location. This will give you two application icons to run. This used to work in older Mac OS's.

  • Mail freezes on opening - two different machines on same day

Trying to do some remote IT support for my coworkers with an odd Mail.app issue that can't be coincidental.
Both machines are MacBook Pros running 10.4.11 and should be fully updated. Both users are using Mail.app with POP e-mail through our domain name server.
When either/or opens their Mail application while connected to the internet they get a spinning beach ball and are unable to use mail. The odd things is, both users are on different sides of the country and the problem started at the same time with both of them. This problem does not occur when the machines are not connected to the net.
I figured that either they both received an e-mail that is blocking the system or have some conflict with their Verizon WAN cards. We have taken the following steps with one of the machines:
    1. Start mail with the Shift key held down to deselect the mailboxes. Closed the preview window.
This does not have any effect while the machines are connected - there is still the same problem.
    2. Delete the preferences file and reenter all account info.
    This also had no effect.
Any thoughts on possible causes or solutions?
    Thanks!
    Chuck

Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Leave checked (enabled) only the port configuration needed to connect to Internet and Built-in Ethernet (in that order if not the same), uncheck (disable) the rest of network port configurations, and see whether that helps — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.
Try launching Mail under the following conditions (you may need to force quit it first if it’s running) and post back with your observations:
    A. Holding the Shift (⇧) key down until the main window appears. This tells Mail to not select any mailboxes or load any messages upon start up.
    B. With no Internet connection.
You may also try trashing the Mail cache:
    1. (Force) Quit Mail if it’s running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Caches/.
    3. Locate the Mail cache folder (not to be confused with the ~/Library/Mail folder where all your mail is stored) and move it to the Desktop (to be deleted after opening Mail and checking that all your mail is there, i.e. after making sure that you didn’t remove the ~/Library/Mail folder by mistake).
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

  • How to send two or more XML request messages to call ALSB from ALBPM

    Hi All,
I have a scenario where two or more XML messages needs to be sent to the ALSB component from the ALBPM part.
How can this be achieved using PBL coding. Please help me on this.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Based on my test, I agree with Mr. KR, we could not open two or more xml files with the same name located in different folders with Excel 2013 at the same time, because XML is not the default format of Excel.
Would you like to tell us the reason about this behavior, we might try the other methods to get your goal.
If you have any update, please feel free let us know.

  • E-mail won't load... just 'Load More Messages...'

My iPad 4 recently stopped updating it's e-mail whenever I run the e-mail app. The app starts up fine, but then acts like it's updating the mail, but then doesn't and only adds a "Load More Messages..." option.
I've tried removing the account, load it again, in addition to restarting the device loads of times, but for naught.
I just removed the e-mail account, restarted the device, added the e-mail account (double-checking the settings) and now the e-mail will only display the 'Load More Messages...' option. When I click on this it spends a few minutes thinking then does nothing.
Is there a bug floating around out there or a recent glitch?
    Thanks,
    Nominrath

Here was the problem I solved myself: My hosting service, Hostmonster, has a "convenient" application using a script that allegedly will set up your client Mail on a Mac for some standard email services, including iCloud. As long as the script was implemented, it was preventing my mailbox from connecting, not enabling it. The only way I know of to stop the Hostmonster script is to delete the account, and then manually reinstall it. That solved the problem.

So I basically won't run into any trouble? I
There should be no issues. Its designed to work like that.  You don't change Apple IDs just because you get a new device.

Is there any chance that the phones can fall out of sync?
Unlikely. But nothing is impossible.   Though I don;t see how that would happen. As long as both are signed into the Same Apple ID / iCloud Account they will be N'Sync. (Bad Joke)

If I get a message or buy an app or take a photo on the iPhone 5, how do I get those things onto the iPhone 6?
If you buy an App, you have 2 ways to get it to the iPhone6: If Automatic Downloads is enabled in Settings->iTunes & App Store, it will automatically download to the iPhone 6 when you buy it on the 5 and vice versa if you buy it on the 6, it will download to the 5.
Alternatively, you can simply go to the App Store App->Updates->Purchased and look for the App there and download it. Purchased Apps will not require payment again. i.e They'll be free to download to the iPhone 6 once purchased.
SMS Messages will sync over using Continuity as long as they are on the same Wifi network. Otherwise, restoring the iPhone 5 backup to the iPhone 6 will transfer all messages received up until the backup was made onto the iPhone 6.
Images, can be transferred either through Photo Stream

Or any Cloud service you want such as Dropbox, or One Drive.

Also, something i forgot to ask initially: Should I update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8 first or does that not matter?
If you want the Continuity features as explained above you need to update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8. Otherwise its not all that important.

  • Can't open a pdf document over two or more junction points

    Hello,
if i open a pdf document that's stored in a directory and this directiry is accessable over two or mor junction points, it will be fail. The message say something abount access denied, but the security is set to full access. In other application (e.g. notepad.exe) i can access this document. Then i tested it with one junction point and it works.
So here is a szenario to test:
    1) Put a pdf document at C:\Folder1\PDF-Document.pdf
    2) I can access C:\Folder1\PDF-Document.pdf with Acrobat Reader
    3) Create a Junction Point from C:\Folder2 to C:\Folder1
    4) I can access C:\Folder2\PDF-Document.pdf with Acrobat Reader
    5) Create a Junction Point from C:\Folder3 to C:\Folder2
    6) I can't access C:\Folder3\PDF-Document.pdf with Acrobat Reader !!!
I can normaly access the file at C:\Folder3\PDF-Document.pdf but not with Acrobat Reader! In Notepad i can open the pdf document.
I tested the lasted version 11.0.1 on Windows Server 2008 R2 (Service Pack 1) with all normally available patches.
What's wrong? The original structure with the junction points are greater than the example above. But i've reduced it to this simple example.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks und Greetings
    Martin

It's possible it's a bug, or it may be a limitation in the software if it's a specialized kind of PDF that Reader for iOS doesn't support.
In any case, posting a link to the file would provide the engineers with some information to help fix the problem.
Keep in mind that the software for mobile devices has been in development a much shorter time than software for computers (Reader for Windows or Macintosh).

  • My mail isn't opening there is always a message box that reads mail couldn't open because of a problem.

Ever since I updated the system, my mail hasn't opened not even once. Ever time I click on the Mail icon a error message pops up telling me it can't open. Please I am begging for help. Thanks.

Nevermind I found that updating to OS X update combo fixed everything finally after two monthes of trying everything.

  • Apple Mail crashes every time I open or preview a message.

    The Issue
I am having an issue with Apple Mail crashing every time I select a message in my inbox.  I will load up the program just fine, no message selected, and the preview panel is blank.  Then, If I select a message, it loads in the preview panel, and Mail crashes immediately after it finishes loading.  If I disable the preview panel, I am able to highlight messages in my inbox without issue.  If I try to open one, however, the window opens for the email, and Mail crashes immediately.
    What I have Tried
I have tried deleting the mail preferences, I have tried rebuilding the mailbox, and I have completely uninstalled the Mail.app, deleted the Mail folder in my Library, and deleted the preferences and reinstalled.  Nothing has worked.
    My Email Information
My email uses an IMAP connection.  It is properly configured, and has worked previously.  I can set up the same connection in Thunderbird and there are no issues.

    Try this:
    1) Quit Mail
    2) Go to ~/Library/Mail
    3) You'll find a file called 'Envelope Index'. You may also find 'Envelope Index-1' and/or 'Envelope Index.journal'
    4) Move these to your desktop
    5) Restart Mail
    6) When asked if you want to re-index your mail, say yes ('continue')
    7) Let Mail re-index
    8) You should be fine
I'm not sure, but if you shut down and restart, or do a log-out, you might go through this again. Mail has a clear bug. Perhaps someone who knows more about these particular files can shed some light.

  • Mail crashes on opening any message with attachments

mail crashes on opening any message with attachments
this started happening about a month ago. I thought the problem was that there was too much mail in the program -
so, I acquired a program called MAILSTEWARD (which I recommend!) and it stores & saves my old mail.
I reset MAIL, so it kept my address and smart folder instructions etc, but all the mail itself was gone (I forget how I did that - I probably will try it again...)
for a few weeks, everything was fine - I could open an eMail with an attachment, and it worked.
but now it started crashing again everytime there's an attachment!
don't know what to do - there's only a month's worth of mail in there (which I should clean out anyhow) - but it seems to me that's not too much...
    thanks!
    w

that's it - I ran the updater - and I believe I have been able to use it all day without the program crashing when it encounters an attachment.
one goofy thing I noticed, for the first time, there appear to be two applications folders on my start-up drive (1) in my user folder (2) in the "main" hard drive folder.
MAIL is in both - I believe the "main" one was updated; when I turned on the "user" MAIL it crashed when I opened an eMail with an attachment; when I opened the same eMail with the "main" mail there was no problem.
now what does this tell us?
    thanks again!
    will

My mail is configured correctly.  When I go to view my inbox I get the 'Load More Messages...' with the number of messages showing.  I touch the display and nothing happens.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the email account and restarted the device.  I can send mail fine as well as view my sent messages.  Very confusing.

I have two yahoo accounts and I know as they 'improved' their servers I had periodic outages. It'd work fine on my webmail on  my computer, webmail on the iPad, but not via the mail app. And it was stuff on their end. It may be a case of wait and see and you may need to eventually remove/readd the account on your iPhone.
When the issue is on their end, unfortunately there's not much for users to do beyond wait it out or find work arounds.

  • Mail opens two Safari windows when I click on a link in email

When I click on a link in Mail, it opens in Safari -- that's the way I have it setup. Yet, the problem is that it opens two windows in Safari, one empty and one with the content of the link.
This is the second problem I have with Mail. The second one was posted to this discussion but it was not resolved. I repeat here the text of the problem:
I've been having a problem with mail for a while, when sending attached JPEGs from my Mac using Mail or Entourage. The photos are split -- say a 140 kb file will show up in my two other computers (both Windows PCs) as two files, one 65 kb and the other 75 kb, for example.
Yet, when I click on Mail's (in my Mac) sent folder and click on the particular sent email, it shows a full blown 140 kb attachment, not split.
Several weeks ago, my Mac Address book got cranky and for some reason it would repeat the name of an addressee. I finally deleted the name of that addressee and created a new entry and it seemed to work, so it did not split JPEGs -- or at least I thought that was the case.
Now it is back splitting the JPEGs but this time, the addressee's name is well formatted -- no repeats within the entries in the card in Address Book.
When I mail something from my Windows PCs and open it in my Mac, the file is complete.
What could be causing this split?

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br /><br />
