Mail Indicator

The mail indicator light shows new mail is in box but nothing there. How do I clear?

Hello and welcome...
Try resetting your iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Now try mail.

  • My Voice mail indicator not working I have no idea I have voicemails how do I get it to work again with out hard reset?

At somepoint I have been getting voicemails and have not known it because the voice mail indicator is turned off. Called my voicemail and that is not an option when I go to my personal options. I am out of service due to the building that I work in and do not reiceive calls and missed calls do not always show up.. so indicator is needed. PLEEAAASSEEE HEEELLLPPP!!!

Okay so I did all that and I noticed that when someone calls me and my celullar data is on the voicemail registers..... when my cellular data is off and a call comes in and goes to voicemail.... it does not register until I go to call someone else then the notice comes on for as long as I am on the phone.... if I do not make a call for a few days I never know that I have a phone call. I turn off my cellular data since I only have 250MB for the month... and most of the time I am in a wifi zone....which make me wonder if my cellular data is turned on and I am in a wifi zone and should miss a call since the wifi takes over would I get the notice... I should not have this turned on all the time for the sole purpose of knowing if at some time I am in a dead zone and miss a call or not sitting right next to it.... my office is a dead zone as it is in an industrial building..... this is very disappointing especially since it was working for me at some point..... in conclusion still not working

  • IOS 6 mail indicator

With IOS 6 the new mail indicator on the home screen defaults to the VIP mailbox. Is there a way to change it to show how many new messages are in the inbox?

I'm having the exact same issues here too, ever since upgrading to iOS4, before then it was working just fine. I have a hosted IMAP account from gandi.net as they are my domain registrar and host, so to confirm what I've been reading, it's definitely not an issue with a particular mail service, but the Mail app itself. Accessing it from Mail on my Macbook (10.6.4) works just fine, not one issue. I do find that restarting my iPod Touch (2nd generation) does seem to resolve the issue, or rather get the messages all caught up, but the issue comes right back again with new messages. I hope the next update expected from Apple this week or next will resolve the issue.

  • Phantom E-Mail Indicator

iPhone main screen shows three unread e-mail although all have been read. I deleted all trash and sent and re-read all e-mail, indicator still shows three. Turned off the i-Phone and when restarted still shows three. Anybody out there have and solve this issue?

I've been having the same issue, and it's very annoying when you create a new account and d/l 25, 50 or whatever new messages. It seems there are a lot of issues with email still. In fact I didn't have this problem with the last phone software, it seems new ever since I updated

  • New Mail Indicator in Title Bar

Anyone else think that a new mail indicator in the title bar (e.g. next to the battery indicator) would be a good idea? Is it even technically possible? I don't like audio mail notifications but I'd like to see if there was a new mail waiting while I'm browsing or suchlike.

Well, that's true though if you put the mail app in your tray on the bottom you can see it from all screens. But you have to exit an app to see it. What you're talking about is a good idea. When multitasking comes out this summer, maybe someone will write a mail notification app that operates in the background. Feed it back to Apple in the Feedback forum so they'll hear about it as they probably won't from here.

  • TS3988 In using Mail on iCloud I seem to have the mail indicator stuck on 7.  It will not go away?

How can I reset the mail indicator number to zero on my iCloud Mail account?

    Mark all messsages as read?

  • False "new mail" indicator

Upgraded to Mavericks, now I'm getting a false "new mail" indicator on both my dock and Mac Mail program.  It's only on one on of my three email accounts, and I've already tried a smart mailbox to search for any unread emails.  Had this happen before on my MacBook Pro, no one at the Genius Bar could figure it out.  Now I'm on my MacBook Air, less than a year old, it's making me NUTS!
Anyone have any ideas how to proceed?

UPDATED:  the Mavericks 1.0 update just debugged the Gmail problem, so all good.  Grateful to the nerds in Cupertino for handling their business.

  • Mail Indicator Number

On my 3G Mail icon, there is an oval red indicator that shows I have 21+ messages waiting. I have marked as read everything in every account on the phone and it still won't go away. How do I clear it and why is it reading so many messages?

    Hi,
I don't know if this will help or not, but I would try deleting that e-mail account from the phone, then putting it back on the phone. I had an issue with certain calendar events not showing up on my iPhone, and when I removed the calendar from my phone, then put it back on the phone, I had no more problems. It's a simple thing to try, but maybe it will help.
    Cheers!

  • Get Mail  indicator

I have 4 email account addresses in my In Box and I used to get a spinning wheel beside each of them indicating that it was checking for mail, when ever I clicked on Get Mail.
For some reason those little indicators have disappeared so that I never know if my program is checking for mail or not.
Does anyone know where to go to choose that option, I've gone through all of the menus but couldn't find anything.
    Thanks

Mine still has the spinning wheels.
You can also enable the "Mail Activity" lower panel in the left side.
At the bottom left there are 3 choices.
+ , an arrow pointing down, and a wheel...
Click on the arrow and the "Mail Acitivity" window will stay in the lower left of the window...
When you get new mail, there will be a blue progress bar that will show you the mail coming in..

  • Voice Mail Indicator

I can retrieve my voice mail the indicator icon does not appear on my screen.  Also, I just changed my profile setup to vibrate and make a noice when I have a voicemail.  Just tested and nothing happened.
    Please help

Have you tried a "soft reset" on the device by removing the battery then allowing it to reboot?
(VM inticator issue may be resolved.)

  • Checking Mail indicator

What happened to the "Checking Mail" revolving indicator that was on the upper left in mail when the check mail tab is selected?
Mine is totally gone. Only appears when outgoing mail is sent.
No indication that anything is going on except for the audible ding indicates it's finished looking. The Mac should be better at this than the PC; at least the pc shows a operations indicator bar on screen.
    Thanks

I'm not sure which spinning gears you mean. Mine does a little ticker thing that I think of as a clock - the same ticker that's displayed when restarting the computer and such. It only does it when it's taking more than a second or two to check for mail. Could that be why you don't see it? Or do you mean something else by gear?

  • My voice mail indicator is not showing new messages

The message indicator not lighting up...collecting messages for several days without me knowing it. What do I do?

this is probably happening because your carrier doesn`t support visual voice mail, so your iphone won`t count your voice mails and show it to you.

  • Voice mail indicator not working I've tried the steps in voice mail - personal options, 1 to set the indicator to on but 1 is an invalid option:

Documentation says to go into voice mail, select to change the personal options, then 1 to set the indicator on but 1 is not an option on my phone.

• No longer get incoming mail indicator

Used to be that when mail was being brought in that there would be a spinning wheel on the inbox bar of Mail. I am able to retrieve mail and get the message number and audible signal but no incoming indicator.

That little indicator only shows as long as Mail is still working. If it finishes for a particular account very quickly, it may not even show the indicator, or it might only show it for a fraction of a second. Are you on a faster connection now than you used to be?

  • IOS5 mail indicator

Is there a way to have an indicator show up next to the battery status showing if there are unread emails / texts / calls?
I want to be able to look at the lock screen and see if there is a need to open up the phone to read mail. I have a pin code set on the phone so its not as simple as swiping the unlock bar.
I have just given up my Blackberry and it had both a nifty LED and a visual indicator next to the battery status showing if you had any messages
    Any feedback would be great

Thanks - that helps. I went to Settings, Notifications, Mail, and chose Alerts. Now I have a visual indicator on the lock screen.
Down side here is that the indicator for email has the name of the person the email is from and the subject line. For me that's fine, but for anyone looking at my iPhone even if they can't get into it they will be able to see something about my email.
Any other suggestions on getting a simple indicator? As mentioned, this helps, but nervous about security
    Thanks
