Mail item storage on Macbook?
I have "lost" all mail items for a period of about 35 days. The items show up in the mail list but the "Loading..." notice never goes away. From where should these items be loading? My intent is to recover them to the appropriate place using Time Machine. I'm using OS X 10.8.4.
Any help would be appreciated.

In fact the problem seems to have gone away - rebuilding the mailbox and rebooting sorted it.
Not sure why it happened though!

In System Preferences > Mission Control, uncheck mark Displays have seperate windows. This should bring you back to the secondary display you had before the upgrade. You may have to open Mail, the first time and place it on your secondary display. You also won't have the advantages of the dock and menus on the secondary display.
I keep my own secondary display with these settings because I need the ability to expand a window across both displays. -

Next, usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

Cant find any topics on mail here but as the question relates to calander as well this is the only place I can post it.

I've have only been using a Macbook pro now for under 1 month but one critical piece of functionality has me stumped. In outlook, I could turn a mail item into a calendar or task item by simply dragging the message over the calendar icon on Outlook's folder bar and the contents would become a calendar item.
How do I do that on the Mac? I dont rally want to use third party apps as I would have thought that this basic piece of functionality would have been included?Did you hover over the date?
If the email has no date in it, it would be difficult for an automated process to add it to iCal! However, there are add-ons that provide a basic functionality, though I don't know if they've been updated for 10.8. Take a look, for example, at Mail2iCal -
Hi guys, I'm new to Mac. I know that you can add email accounts likeHotmail into your Mail app so that you can view, edit, modify, create and delete your emails and folders, etc. The questions I have are (1) can I see all the emails I have not just in the inbox but all the other folders as well just like if I was logging on to Hotmail via Internet Explorer ? (2) what happens if I read some emails, delete or move some emails, create new emails and send or save in draft, create or delete folders, etc in the Mail app on my MacBook Pro, will this synchronize and reflect the same on my Hotmail account if I was to logging via Internet Explorer ? How about the other way ? If so, how do I set it up on my MacBook Pro to do this automatically ?
I know that this doesn't work with Hotmail accounts on my iPhone 4 via the Mail app. Everytime I read an email or delete an email on my Mail app, it does not synchronize or reflect the same on my live Hotmail account when I logging via Internet Explorer.

Is this really a key combination you find it easy to press by mistake? To answer the question, no, it doesn't look like you can remap that, but note that if you choose Edit -> Undo immediately after deleting, the message will come back. -
How does one continue to use Mail on the early MacBook Pro, Model 1,1, that is not upgradable to Lion? I have been running iCloud on my iPhone (OS5) and iMac (Lion) along with the MacBook Pro (OS Version 10.6.8) since November until now. Mail will no longer download on the MacBook Pro and keeps asking for my password.
Mail should still be usable with your machine - but you'll need to update the settings to conform to the requirements of your system. Check with your ISP (like ATT, etc.) for the settings that will work with your Mail. Once you've updated this, you should be able to email like before.
For example, my ISP required that I go to Mail Preferences/Accounts and make sure the details conform to your email settings.
I have no idea of what your ISP is or what the settings might be, but this is likely the source of the problem. -

Addressbook synching would be through your iCloud account. It has nothing to do with Safari.

Are you using the web interface? You must add your Yahoo! Mail account to mail.app to get notifications.

Getting error while opening mail item in OWA, after 16 times
hi Guys,
I am facing a different issue in Internet Explorer(IE), that is if open a mail item/message via owa in IE 16 times, then the 16th time it is failing and throwing error. Up to 15 times mail item opening fine, but 16th time not.
In Firefox browser its working fine.
Any body having any idea about this behavior please help me to find out the root cause.

My Mac Mail subfolders on my MacBook Air will not sync in alphabetical order. I am assuming it is a setting that I am not finding since my iMac based at my home office is fine, so is my iPad and iPhone. The core source is Exchange.
If you have been using the mac.com Apple ID to make iTunes purchases recently, then there should be no issues continuing to use it with the new iPhone. I would abandon the new ID as you will never get Apple to merge the two IDs. I have had a mac.com ID for years and continue to use it with my iPhone 4S.
Tell us the issues that you encounter trying to set up the iPhone with the mac.com account. -
