Mail keep s loosing mobileme emails

I have a big issue:
Sometimes (4 times now), Mail looses my mobileme account! Let me explain:
I use mobileme to store all my hystoric email (12 BGyte) in 5 or 6 folders.
Once in a while Mail losses my account and I have to redownload everything. Although I have a very fast internet connection 100Mbit downstream/ 5 MBit upstream, it takes about 24 hours to re-download everything.
When this "thing" happens, basicaly the Mac-user folder is gone from /user/Library/Email folder and mail just "forgot" about the folders on my mobieme account.
I have to delete delete the acoount in Mail, create it again and wait for the 43 000~email and corresponding attachmants to sync again.
Very, very annoying.
I also use an imap gmail account with about (4 Gigabyte) and it never happened there.
Addinionatly I use my mais corporate "Micriosoft Exchange" account that never fails (about 500 MByte)
Have you ever heard of this strange problem ?
Should I dump mobileme altogether ?
Thanks

Hi
The version is
Office Outlook Professional 2010 ver 14.0.7106.5003 (32 bit). I run Windows 7 Home Professional
Unfortunately I do not have access to Outlook 2010 but hopefully Outlook 2007 is reasonably similar.
Outlook 2007 instructions
1. Start Outlook
2. Click Tools  File tab
3. Click Account Settings
4. Highlight the account you want to change
5. Click Change
6. Click More Settings
7. Click Advanced
8. In the Delivery section Tick the box that says "Leave a copy of messages on the server"
9. Click OK.
It is also advisable to:
1. Start Outlook
2. Click Tools  File tab
3. Click Options
4. Click Mail Setup Advanced
5. Under the Send/ receive section un tick the Send immediately when connected box.
6. Click the Send/receive button
7. Ensure that the Schedule an automatic Send/receive box is unticked.
And
1. If you click the Expand triangle at the side of the Send/receive button in the command bar
2. Click send/receive settings
3. Ensure Disable Scheduled Send/receive is ticked.
A consequence of the above is that Sending and Receiving of emails will ONLY take place when you click
Send/ Receive in the command bar at the top of Outlook.
This means that when you start Outlook it should not try to do anything until you tell it to.
Perhaps some Kind soul will convert the above into Outlook 10 as Microsoft seem to have gone out of their way to make what should be the default difficult to achieve.

  • Mail Keeps Downloading the Same Emails

As of this morning, Mail (v4.5) keeps downloading the same emails over and over.  I've got my delete setting to delete after one week (not immediately after download), but this has never been an issue before.  In fact, I have multiple email accounts that access the same mail server, but only this one account is having this issue.  I've gone in to my mailbox via Mail2Web and deleted all the messages in case it was some kind of corrupt email causing the issue.  But as new emails come in, the problem reappears--the new emails are downloaded over and over. This is with a POP account.
I would think it'd be a server issue, not a Mail issue, but none of my other accounts that access the same mail server are affected.  Any suggestions?

Ok, found a solution, as outlined by Satchmo here:

  • Mail keeps using an old email address as the "reply-to" despite having deleted the account long ago

Any advice? I am running into the problem on my Mac Book and iMac and am running OS 10.8.2 on both machines.

    •  Changing which is the default mailbox that comes up when you click on "New Message" is not going to solve this conundrum.
Have you tried this, or is this a deduction?
I am wondering if the problem might be in how your service provider is identifying you. Try this. Send yourself an email. When you receive it, look at Mail / View / Message / All Headers. There might be a clue in all the text you will get.

  • Mail and Address Book: Deleted email returns to Inbox

    Hello all and happy holidays...
That is until just a while ago, my Mail keeps receiving two similar emails (one with attachment) of Xmas Specials and offerings from one of the vendor/shop I visited. When I click on the mail itself, I just see the "loading..." in the message body, no pics, no text, assuming it is a large graphic-based or something email, *so I tried deleting them, only to have them re-appear again in the IN box.*
*I just simply can't get rid of them!* Every time I delete them, they disappear from the IN box, I click the Trash icon, they are there, I further delete them, and when I click back the IN box, they are back again
It has become an annoyance! I call the shop and they said their marketing dept will take me off the email list, but they can't help me on the immediate problem, *how to trash these email away permanently?* They actually ask me to call AppleCare Hotline...! Gosh, I know about AppleCare Hotline and they will go through you the 1001 steps to diagnose your system one step at a time, I just thought this is the vendor's "problem" and they should be able to fix the problem for me!
So anyone, hope someone's home and getting online here, if you know how to, please help.
Thanks a zillion and Merry Xmas!

Move the offending file to the Trash and make sure that Trash does not contain any files you may want to retain.
    Shut down Mail.
From the Finder click on Go>Home.
    Double click on the Library.
option drag the Mail folder to the desktop.
This should make a copy of the Mail folder.
Once you are sure that Mail is backed up, open the Mail folder in the Library.
Open the Mailboxes folder and open the Deleted Messages.mbox>Messages folder.
Drag any messages in the folder to the trash can in the Dock.
    Empty Trash.
Now reopen the Mail folder and locate the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded3 and the Envelope Index files and drag them to the desktop.
Next close all windows and open the Mail program.

  • TS4002 Since upgrading my mac to snow lepord, I haven't been able to recieve any mac mail on my MAC. My ipod can get the emails just fine But my actual emails on the MAC Mail keeps telling me to put in my password which i do and it just wont connect. Help

I"ve reset my password from my laptop thinking the password was the problem, but  the imac mail just keeps asking for the password. It keeps saying The MobileMe IMAP server “mail.me.com” rejected the password for user. Am abit confused as maybe the mail on the imac should be icloud?
I really have no idea what's going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.

  • I have an iMac, and have a Verizon DSL account. Recently, my Mac Mail keeps requesting the passwords on my account every few minutes, and will not allow me to send messages using Mac Mail. I cannot edit the outgoing server; how can I send emails?

I have an iMac, and have a Verizon DSL account (3 email addresses). Recently, my Mac Mail keeps requesting the passwords on my accounts every few minutes, and will not allow me to send messages using Mac Mail (the message says that the outgoing server was rejected. I cannot edit the outgoing server, and the keychain will not save my passwords (the ports are valid). How can I change the outgoing server to send emails, and how can I avoid having Mail request my passwords every 2 minutes? Verizon, as usual, will not provide support to iMacs.

Is there an email saved in your drafts or outbox folder?  I suspect that Mail is continually trying to send it, and each time Google is rejecting the email message.
You can open the message and then delete it from your Outbox folder.  Then try removing all @gmail email addresses from it and seeing whether you can send to the other folks.  I suspect that will work.
With email, if an SMTP server *can* verify email addresses, sometimes it will and it will refuse to send messages.  If a message has to be relayed across servers, no verification is done, and you'll get a bounce if an email address is bad.

  • How do I make Mail stop keeping all my old emails?

I have just done a scan of my MacBook using Disk Inventory X to try and work out what is taking up so much space on my hard drive. Turns out I have 94GB of mail. I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to get Mail to stop keeping all my old emails?

I have had a look in the time capsule.....bad news on that front, it is empty although it had been regualry updating every hour when it was connected previous (had a bit of a move around with both the office and home). This had happened before and Apple replaced the Time Capsule with a new one along with a new hardrive in the 27" iMac, I wonder if that same problem had not been resolved now seeing the Time Capsule has nothing backed up. My word this is frustrating, the hours I have spent on the phone with Apple tech and still having issues, anyway one thing at a time.
    Thanks for the help!

  • Mac mail keeps sending emails from different accounts even though it says correct email in "sent" folder. Recipients reply and it goes to different email address. So confusing.

mac mail keeps sending emails from my different accounts even though it says correct email in "sent" folder and correct email account was highlighted. Recipients reply and it goes to different email address. So confusing and annoying.

    Hi Mike,
I had the same issue and managed to solve it.
    Go into Mail>Preferences>Accounts
Then in the account information tab, at the bottom should be outgoing mail server (SMTP) and click the drop down box
Mine had a few different servers in it so i went into edit SMPT server list. Click advanced and it will tell you which ones are going from which email address.
Delete the ones you dont want, and it should work or instead of deleting click use only this server, i imagine that will work to
    Hope This Helps

  • Deleted emails in Mail keep coming back since 10.10.3 update

Mac Mail won't let me delete email or move email to other mailboxes since updating to 10.10.3. I delete messages or move them to other folders/mailboxes, and they keep coming back to my Inbox. Some messages come back almost instantly. Some come back after a few minutes. Other messages have come back that I deleted earlier in the day. There don't appear to be duplicates, since the messages I deleted aren't in the trash or in the folder/mailbox to which I moved them. Some messages have stayed in the trash, but when I try to permanently delete them, they reappear. The only way I've been able to permanently delete messages is by going online and deleting them in Gmail. I have used Gmail in combination with Mail for years without problems, and I had been using an earlier version of Yosemite without problems. My mail account is a Gmail account set up as IMAP. I have folders/mailboxes that are in Gmail and I have folders/mailboxes that are on my computer, but the messages I move won't stay in either type of mailbox. I tried rebuilding the mail envelop with Onyx which has helped with Mail quirks in the past, but this time it did nothing to solve the problem.
Macbook Pro, Mid 2010, 2.66 GHz, Intel Core i7

I have an android phone. If I read a message on my phone, it still shows up on my desktop.
One of the problems with deleting messages is that I when I delete messages from the main Inbox (the Inbox that includes all incoming messages from all accounts), some of those messages stay in the Inbox for the individual account as unread. A typical scenario is that after reading all of my new email and deleting messages, I notice that Mail shows that I still have unread mail. So I go to the Inbox for an individual email account, and there are a bunch messages that I deleted (sometimes half, sometimes all of what I deleted) that are in the Inbox of the individual account and show as unread. Then when I go back to the main Inbox, and all of the messages that I deleted are suddenly back in the that Inbox. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to which messages get stuck. Sometimes the messages go away on their own. Sometimes they won't ever go away. I delete them from the main Inbox; they come back. I delete them from the individual account Inbox; they come back. I go to the Trash, delete them before they've gone back the the Inboxes, and they come back. The only way I can get rid of these zombie messages is to access the account through a browser and delete those messages online.
Another problem I have, is that Mail is constantly asking me to re-enter the password for one of my email accounts. Fortunately, it's an account I use less frequently, but it's a real problem when I Mail asks me to re-setup up an account every time I open Mail.
The problem has doubled or tripled the time it takes for me to keep track of my email. I'm going through reviews and looking for a replacement for Mail. I will be the first time I've used something besides Mail since I used Eudora (during the time when it was the best program available and you had to buy it).

  • Mail QUEUE keeps filling up 17000+ emails

I am running a OS 10.4.11 w/latest security updates. Approx 50 active email accounts but a high volume of emails. We have been shut down by our ISP for an open proxy (unsure if this is related or not). We keep getting thousands of emails flooding our mail queue from unknown sources to unknown address. I have read another post with similar issues and I want to update the postfx config to keep this over load of emails from reaching the queue. I am not that great with command line and would like a little help. I have read FRONT-LINE SPAM DEFENSE FOR MAIL SERVERS, and need just a bit of help getting started. ANY help will be appreciated.

Using text wrangler and editing the main.cf file. I am also looking at the logs and here is what I had on the 31st when we got blocked by our ISP, it looks like just a bunch of spam flooding us with malformed names.

  • Mavericks Mail has a bug:  emails refresh and I loose current email.

Many times, when reading emails in mail in the mornings, I loose my email from the unread smartbox where I was reading it.  The problem I found is that Mail refreshes after getting more email and after refresh, the email I was reading does no longer meet the unread condition of my smartbox.  It is extremely annoying.
Is anyone experiencing similar problems caused by mail's refresh?
    Apple, please fix this!
Most people recommended to access gmail directly online.   But I manage multiple emails in my mail (gmail would be messy)...
    ideas?

Ok, well, the good news is that only 2 people on earth have had this problem.  The other good news is that I have narrowed the culprit down to Keychain which was causing mail to refresh every 60 seconds.  Hopefully this will save someone else many, many hours of greif should they come across the same issue.
Turning off keychain under iCloud settings fixes the problem immediately.  Turning it back on brings the problem back immediately.  I would still like to use Keychain across my devices so I've tried the Repair option in Keychain First-Aid under the Keychain menu.  I have applied this on both my air and iMac (as doing it on one didn't fix it on the other) and restarted both machines.  First-aid did find and fix a couple of Keychain issues.  Will know whitin a week whether that was the correct fix or not as it can take anywhere from 5 hours to 5 days for the issue to reappear after a restart.

Right click on the email  in the left hand pane.  Select Mark as Unread to return it to an unread state.  Click Delete to move it to the trash or file it in a folder if you have any configured.  You may need to click the show button on the upper left hand side of the window to see your folders.  The + sign at the bottom of that pane allows you to add a new folder.

  • My itouch mail keeps loading old emails and displaying them as unread.  If I delete them it just loads 50 more older ones

My itouch mail keeps loading old emails and displaying them as unread.  If I delete them, 50 more load....old ones that I have long since read and discarded.  Any suggestions.  It appears to be only 1 of my email accounts that does this.  I have deleted the account and resynced to get it back in use, but 50 old emails come up as if they are new unread ones.  Thanks for any help.

I am having the same issue and it started the same day.  My other mac does it as well but has been an issue for two years.  I just gave up on it and stopped using email from that mac.  I just spend 4 days trouble shooting ti myself when i had time and now spent 2 hours with apple on a chat and screen share and they couldnt solve it either.

  • Browsers and Mail keep loosing connection and reconnecting randomly.

Connected to a wifi network that has always worked fine.
    Only change is Yosimite upgrade.
Browsers intermittently report no network connection, then make connection seemingly randomly.
Mail keeps taking accounts off line in spite of always being connected.
I do have 16 gigs of ram.
Does anyone know what has happened and how to fix?

The only change has been switching to Yosimite.
The wireless diagnostic says "Basic failure..." contact apple support.
Other devices and computers are connected to same wifi without a problem.
The wifi network is not the issue, something has changed in how the OS is connecting.
The browsers, (Safari and Firefox) will loose connection and say not connected to internet from onwe moment to the next.
A page can be refreshed then a new will report that I am not connected to internet, then after a few attempts to try again, it works.
Mail also seems to loose connection and asking if I want to connect.
The wireless and mail and all browsers have worked with out a problem for years.
