Mail logs - [Connection Errors]

Hi,
Can someone please explain the cause of these errors and how to prevent these?
192.168.0.4 port: 25 details: EOF interface: 192.168.0.250 reason: network error
192.168.0.4 port: 25 details: [Errno 61] Connection refused interface: 192.168.0.251 reason: network error
192.168.0.4 port: 25 details: [Errno 60] Operation timed out interface: 192.168.0.250 reason: network error
192.168.0.4 port: 25 details: [Errno 54] Connection reset by peer interface: 192.168.0.250 reason: network error
Thanks,
Vinesh

Those are all delivery failures and the IronPort thinks it's network related.
There is little you can do on the IronPort, as those are network error, we just collect from the kernel for tcp stream.
I would look towards the network to resolve this. If you see those error a lot, support can help you debugging it a bit further.
Cheers,
Mark

  • Icloud and mail - not connecting

    My mail is failing to connect to the icloud server. Just happened. This happens about every  6 - 9 months for no reason. Worked fine earlier today. Any suggestions?

    and this is great, if I go to iCloud support it won't let me contact them without a HARDWARE serial number! For a mail account connection error!

  • Installing Mavericks produced "a connection error occurred" in Mail and "connection failed" in App Store

    Dear Apple Support Community!
    I installed Mavericks OS X on my iMac immediately after it was released. I was soon starting to experience trouble with logging in to Mail and App Store. After contacting Apple Support and trying various tips and tricks to no avail, like re-installing Mavericks for instance, I just decided to wait for an update of the OS X to see if that would solve my problems. Unfortunately, that didn't help either.
    I therefore turn to the Apple Support Communities in hope of expert help that will solve my problems.
    Here are the actions that result in error messages:
    Mail > Choose a mail account to add > Google > Continue > Name/Email Address/Password > Set Up > A connection error occurred.
    App Store > Sign In > Apple ID/Password > Sign In > Connection failed.
    I have three accounts on my computer:
    System Administrator, Guest Account and Other.
    I use the “Other” account as my regular account. When I log in to the System Administrator or Guest Account I don’t experience any problems; Mail and App Store work as they should.
    Booting in safe mode does not solve the problem:
    I disconnected all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and removed all aftermarket expansion cards. I booted in safe mode and logged in to the account with the problem.
    I tested the said actions while in safe mode. The problems were the same.
    After testing, I rebooted as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verified that I still had the problems.

    I have had somewhat similar problems as Øystein Ange since upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mavericks in January. But fortunately, I have been able to solve many of them after a lot of trial & error, frustration and sweat! I now long for the more than 2 years of previous Snow Leopard usage when problems were small, few and far between, and quickly solvable. I feel as if Apple has cut me adrift and left me to struggle on my own with the seemingly numerous problems of getting the performance of Mavericks to finally stabilize on my iMac.
    Øystein's Feb. 8th post asks some of the same Mavericks questions that I still have. It would be very helpful to me, and to others I'm sure, if someone/anyone has specific suggestions or solutions on what one could/should do to fix specific problems with newly installed Mavericks OSs, short of a clean, full re-install of the OS.
    I have one admin account plus the guest account on my iMac Mavericks. Does this mean my admin account is a/the root account?! How can one tell whether or not they are logging in with a root account?! What's the distinction between the root account, a user's admin account, and other standard users' accounts?! Could someone please recommend a definitive Apple document describing all the various types of Mavericks accounts, in detail, and how/when/where/why each type should be used before or along with any of the others?
    Why is it suddenly a no-no to log on to Mavericks via the root user account, when previous OS versions had no problem with this?! What's the purpose of the root user account if not to use it to log on to the computer?! If it's so dangerous, why isn't it internally safeguarded from inadvertent logins by casual users?! What damage or harm are we talking about, and why weren't personal-use customers given a big warning about this apparent "booby trap" in Mavericks?! Saying NEVER DO THAT is like closing the barn door after the horse has already bolted, and it explains nothing to the casual user.
    We can't just do a clean re-install every time something in Mavericks hiccups?! Based on my recent experience, and on what I'm seeing in this thread, I would have had to re-installed it a half dozen times in the past 2 months alone!! That's nonsensical. There's got to be a better way of fixing a newly installed Mavericks OS than doing a re-install over and over again. Why don't the Mac diagnostic and troubleshooting tools work in Mavericks' case, as they have done for me on many occasions on earlier OS versions?! What is it about Mavericks that makes it different this time?! Could it possibly have something to do with integration of Mavericks and iCloud; and, if so, what specific cautions should the casual user observe to make sure they don't jeopardize the integrity of Mavericks by doing something similar to logging in from the root account?!
    Many customers need to be brought in out of the dark! Is there an Apple Mavericks expert out there who can advise the customer community on specifically how to apply the existing repair tools to solve specific Mavericks teething problems, without having to revert to multiple OS re-installs?

  • It says connection error when I try to log in

    When I try to log in to icloud it says connection error...why?

    On my HTC Android phone, if I get that sort of problem, I simply delete all of the "remembered" BT Wifi profiles, and that fixes the problem.
    The Android devices seem to get confused when there are multiple entries, with the same SSID, even though the BSSID (MAC address) is different.
    Other device may also have this problem.
    There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

  • THE DATABASE CONNECTION IS LOST :;; WIERD  ORA-01012 NOT LOGGED ON ERROR

    ERROR: ORA-01012 NOT LOGGED ON ERROR
    I AM USING A JAVA SWING INTERFACE (JDK 1.1.8), WHICH USES JNI TO CALL C PROGRAMS WHICH IN TURN CONNECTS TO THE DATABASE, ORACLE 8.1.6.
    A DATABASE CONNECTION IS ESTABLISED IN THE MAIN CLASS BY CALLING A FUNCTION FROM THE CONSTRUCTOR.
    FOR ALL OTHER FUNCTION CALLS WHICH ARE MADE FROM WITHIN THIS CONSTRUCTOR, THE CONNECTION STAYS.
    BUT AFTER THE CONTRUCTOR CALL IS COMPLETE, DATABASE CONNECTION IS STRANGELY LOST. THUS ALL OTHER FUNCTION CALLS FAIL BECAUSE OF CONNECTION ISSUES GIVING ORA-01012. THOUGH IF I CHECK UP IN THE DATABASE, THE CONNECTION DOES FIND AN ENTRY.
    SO IT APPEARS THAT SOMEHOW THE JAVA INTERFACE LOOSES TRACK OF CONNECTION. BUT STRANGELY ALL THE FUNCTIONS WORK IF CALLED FROM THE CONSTRUCTOR......... BUT THATS NOT THE IDEA.
    PLEASE HELP, THIS PROBLEM IS BUGGING ME FOR WEEKS NOW.
    THANKS
    AMIT

    apologise for the caps lock.
    i am working on a previous system with java swing front end which alread uses jni, and connects to database using pro *c.
    My problem is that the connection is lost as soon as the constructor of the main class is run, giving an
    ORA-1012 NOT LOGGED ON ERROR.
    But if i place the same calls in the contructor all the database call work.
    It somehow appears that the java interface looses the connection context. Though the session does find entry in the oracle dynamic tables as long as i dont close the front end main window, thereby meaning that its the jave interface which looses the context.

         new EiqCfuncs().eiqTermEnv(); // gives ora-1012 error
    //eiqtermenv is supposed to disconnect from data base, but returns an ora-1012 not logged on erro
         return;
    //eiqtermenv closes the connection with the data base. But fails in this case. if i place the same call ( eiqtermenv) in the initMRI function or the contructor it succeeds.
    Plus if i dont use the java interace and use a c stub for executing the same sequence of functions, then i dont face any problems.
    the proc calls exectuted ultimately by...
    :::eiqinitenv
    exec sql connect using :sqlid identified by sqlpw; // succeeds giving sqlerr.sqlcode=0;
    ::::eiqterm env
    exec sql commit work; //fails giving 0ra-1012 error
    exec sql rollback work;
    Why is the java interface loosing track of the connection once done with the constructor of the main class?? The session still finds an entry in the oracle dynamic tables.
    Please help
    Thx
    Amit

    Hi StuNYC,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    It sounds like you're seeing an alert message when opening Mail on your iOS devices. Do you have multiple email accounts setup on the devices? Take a look at the article below, it provides suggestions that will resolve most issues that  cause an alert like that to appear in when starting the Mail app.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi,
    Actually I thought this error is appearing in only one of the machines, but when I am figuring out, I found the same error in almost all the client machines.
    Though the programs are running fine getting the database connectivity, I am not able to find why it is giving error showing connection through BEQ protocol.
    Pls someone tell me why this is happening and how I will find out which protocol it is using.

    Yup, you're correct: You've done some messing-up somtime, somewhere!
    Now you need to figure out where you've left the launchd Daemon/Agent that causes the respawning of this doomed job. There are all over the place!
    Try this, but on your side. No need to post the full results here: It'll be too long.
    The 'ls -lrt' command sorts by last accessed time. So, you'll most likely to get the non-Apple ones listed last
    ls -lrt /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/
    ls -lrt /System/Library/LaunchAgents/
    ls -lrt /Library/LaunchDaemons/
    ls -lrt /Library/LaunchAgents/
    ls -lrt ~/Library/LaunchAgents/
    There is a bunch of plist (XML) files. One may spark in you some souvenir of what you've tried once and canceled.
    Remember that deleting an application from the /Application folder is NOT ENOUGH to uninstall a program!
    On good hint for you is to hit Command-I when a package installer runs. This will show you all the files that will be installed. Good thing to remember of those when you want to uninstall an application. There are some applications that take care of nicely uninstalling other applications ... removing launchd daemons/agents.
    Give a try first with
    ls -lrt /Library/LaunchAgents/
    My bet it's here.
    Good luck,

    Hi,
    I am using Oracle 11g Enterprise edition.I have a java class which is used for reading outlook 2010 inbox and download attachments from mails .For Connecting to OutLook from oracle i am using "POP3S" protocol in my java class. Is Oracle Enterprise Edition supports "POP3S" protocol?, Or Enterprise edition needs any additional configuration for establishing outlook connection with "pop3s" ?.
    Any help is appreciated

    I suspect root cause is with Java not Oracle.
    Oracle RDBMS does NOT speak any "protocol" except SQL natively.

  • MAIL USING PL/SQL PROCEDURE TCP CONNECTION ERROR

    I was trying to send an e-mail using the demo-mail helper package which uses UTL_SMTP package and on execution, it gives the following TCP Connection error. Is it some something to do with mail configuration?
    This is the sample code I was trying to run.
    demo_mail.mail( sender => 'Me <[email protected]>',
    recipients => 'Someone <[email protected]>, ' ||
    '"Another one" <[email protected]>',
    subject => 'Test', message => 'Hi! This is a test.');
    And this is the error I am getting.

    The Java library needed by UTL_TCP is not created properly. You may just run $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/initplsj.sql as SYS to install it:
    cd $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin
    sqlplus sys/<sys-password> @initplsj.sql

    Hi ..
    Which OS X is installed on your Mac ?
    Click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac. The version is noted there.
    Make sure your Mac OS X software is up to date.
    Disconnect the iPad from your Mac.
    Open System Preferences > Software Update > Check Now
    If any updates are required, make sure to restart your Mac after the updates are installed then connect your iPad and see if iTunes recognizes it under Devices.

    Hi my nan keeps Getting an error message of cannot get mail the connection to the server failed.... Can any one tell me what this means please

    I too am getting this message. I have been using my iPad for two years with no problems but a couple of days ago I starting having this problem intermittently. I have restarted the iPad when that did not work I deleted the account and reloaded it. Nothing seems to work. I was having the same problem on my iPhone but that seems to be OK today. Any other ideas?
