Mail - Mail Activity

Mail Activity visible from the sidebar.
Send a message and the Mail Activity is NOT 1 of 1 but 18 of 18 - and that number keeps increasing with each message sent, which did NOT occur until installing Mavericks.
Any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP Support forums. I understand that when trying to activate the HP ePrint app that you haven’t received the activation code.
Which email address are you using to activate the app, your personal email or the printer’s ePrint email address? If you have been using the printer’s ePrint email address, please try again with your personal email address. If you have been using your personal email address, please check your junk/spam folders to see if it was redirected there. It can take up to 24 hours to receive the email.

The User Name in Mavericks Mail mail preferences Not Correctible

Hi all,
The User Name in Mavericks Mail mail preferences is incorrect for one of my accounts, so the account won't function. It keeps asked for the password. When I change it to the correct User Name and go to the account, the entry automatically switches back to the incorrect User Name. How do I fix this?

The root user is NOT the owner of that little house. That belongs to the user that's logged in. To change that, see Changing user account shortname.

Signatures must be created for each account. If you create one sig in one account and a second in the other account, then each account has only one signature. You need to create the signatures you want independently in each account.

Is the account an Exchange account, a MobileMe account, or a Yahoo account that was created on the iPhone with the Yahoo account preset? If not, the account does not support Push access for received messages. Fetch only - automatically or manually.
If an account that supports Push access for received messages, who is the email account provider for the account? More than likely the problem lies there.
If the account does not support Push access for received messages - Fetch only, automatically or manually, try deleting and recreating the account on your iPhone.

REP-50138: mail : Mail server is not available in eBiz R12 Advanced Distrib

Hi,
I am trying to get Reports Advanced Distribution working in eBiz 12.1.1 for custom reports but get concurrent job failures with the following messages in the job log:-
REP-57054: In-process job terminated:Executed successfully but there were some errors when distribute the output
REP-50159: Executed successfully but there were some errors when distribute the output
REP-50138: mail : Mail server is not available
The <distribution>.xml has 2 steps:-
1. create pdf report output in the file system [works correctly]
2. email the report as a pdf attachment [fails]
(The xml appears to validate)
I have configured the <rwservlet>.conf "mailServer" pluginparam;
I can telnet from apps host (Win2003) to mailserver host smtp port (Linux) from the appserver environment.
Is there something else I should have done or am I trying the impossible in the eBiz environment?

As I said originally, the apps host OS is Win2003. We know mail works from the database layer on this apps host but this is the first time we have tried from the appserver layer.
However, it is impractical in EBS to execute reports from the command line because of the complex cross-schema relationships, embedded profile_options and temporary data requirements setup by a calling form in this case.
Some of the rwrun command line options can be included in a concurrent job but many of the common ones cause job failures
e.g. Tracing and over-rides of the more common report 'system parameters'.
I have already covered the issues raised in the notes you mentioned in the pluginparam setting so I am wondering whether eBiz has some restrictions on Advanced Distribution. I am waiting on Metalink but they don't seem to have any interest in responding to my SR which basically just asks the question 'does eBiz support Advanced Distribution'.
I'll wait on their response and post the result when I know what's possible unless somebody else has a suggestion.

Apple Mail- Mail not going into Inbox

I've been having this issue more and more recently.
Seems when Apple Mail checks for new mail (Mail provider is Google), it does show up in the All Mail folder that Google provides, but the new messages are not showing up in the Apple Mail inbox.
When I check this in the Google mail web client, mail appears as normal.
I'm missing messages, so this is something I'd like to figure out what's going on.

The problem is Google is delivering the mail correctly, Apple Mail isn't putting it in the Inbox. This is a new problem, which started in the last few days. I haven't made any changes to my email settings so unless Google did something, which is entirely likely, this behavior is not right.
Appreciate the insight, but that previous thread didn't really apply to this problem.

Mavericks Mail - Mail Activity Window is Eratic

Does anybody get the same problems I am having regarding the mail activity window?
If I send a single e-mail, hit send, It says it's sending two e-mails or it could be anything up to five e-mails... It keeps making me think I have some kind of virus that sending multiple e-mails out, which it doesn't appear to be when monitoring my network.
It also says it's receiving Mail when it isn't, and other very erratic messages that don't seem to make any sense at all. It's the first time I have noticed this with Mail, which has worked perfectly on previous operating systems.
Any ideas?

This is perfectly normal. It's a bug in Mail. The number appears to be a count that increments as long as Mail is running, and doesn't properly reset to zero. When you are sending the 20th message since opening Mail, it will claim to be sending 20 messages, but it's actually only sending one. Same thing applies to receiving.

JSE8 and mail.jar, activation.jar

Hey, all.
Does anyone know if there are new mail.jar and activation.jar files for the Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 system that support the new mail standard 1.4? I tried just putting these new jar files out in the \appserv8.1ur2\lib directory but that didn't work because apparently the JAR files that come with the server are packaged a bit differently (thank a lesser god I had saved off the old versions of the two files so I could put them back!)
I'd like to use the new mail 1.4 standard that includes the method javax.mail.inetrnet.MimeBodyPart.attachFile(File). It seems much more straightforward than doing the old style mime attachment business.

First, when the NEW (javamail 1.4) JAR files aren't there, I get a javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.mail.internet.MimeBodypart.attachFile of "noSuchMethodError". Then, I replaced the old JAR files with the new activation.jar and mail.jar files and I then receive a javax.servlet.ServletException that com/sun/mail/util/SharedByteArrayInputStream has a "NoClassDefFoundError". I think the JSE8 folks must package all the various associated "mail" files (dsn.jar, imap.jar, mailapi.jar, pop3.jar, and smtp.jar) along with the main "mail.jar" file into one big JAR repository.

Javamail path for mail.jar & activation.jar?

I am trying to use javamail but can't get anything to compile or run. I read all the other posts on this and all they say is to set the path correctly as did the directions, I still cannot get this to work did I do something wrong? Whenever I try to compile something it cannot find those jar files "package javax.mail does not exist" or "package javax.activation does not exist"

Please check those directions carefully once again - usually it is CLASSPATH variable that needs to be modified to include jar files and not PATH variable...
Also, note that it looks like you have an extra colon character below:
C:\javamail-1.3.2ea:\mail.jar
should probably :have been
C:\javamail-1.3.2ea\mail.jar

Account not verified and mail not active

Hi all and sorry for my bad english.
I have an iphone 5 with ios 7.1 and I always used with satisfaction, unfortunately I realized that my account has never been confirmed (I was sure of it)
the problem is that if I try to confirm, my old mail (@yahoo) is deleted for inactivity!! I can not receive the confirmation link.
I tried the second option (secret question) but don't work it!
the account is very old at least four years and probably activation I entered an incorrect date (taken by the euphoria of my new iphone)
i used never the phone as "Spartphone" for me the phone "phones" just, but now I want to solve this situation...
what chance do I have? I can safely use accounts added but can't use icloud

It sounds like you need to verify your Apple ID email, but you can't receive the verification message. If you can't answer the secret questions, or receive the verification message because your email has been deactivated, this article recommends contacting Apple Support for help:

Locked Out of Mail - Suspicious Activity Error!!!!...

Locked out from sending any email ... !!!!!
No idea what this error message means and as for suspicious activity, they could have chosen a more intuitive - explanatory error message.
This is really irritating, has anybody else experienced this??

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Hiding Mail 5 Activity window

The Mail 5.0 Activity window is acting very strange. With the Activity window visible, when the main Mail 5.0 application is hidden the Activity window remains visible. How can I hide the Activity window without closing it?
Another quirk: When the Mail app is hidden and the Activity window is clicked on, the Finder becomes the active application. This is more annoying than having the Activity window always visible and I would settle for having the Activity window always visible but invoking the Mail parent application upon click.

I've got the same bug, but maybe it's not a bug. Could be the new Mail activity window is more akin to a Help window, which are non-floating windows.
Try this. Open a program with a help menu, Safari for example. Then open the Help Center by invoking the Help menu.
Switch to a different program (Mail will work) and "Hide Others". You'll see the Help Center window from Safari is visible in Mail.
As for the second 'quirk', I'd suggest the window isn't seen by any application; therefore, it just floats visible to only the eye, unresponsive to a click in any program but Mail. Also, Expose removes all the windows to the side, but leaves this orphaned Mail activity window.
I asked on a different forum and no one else reported this anomaly.
So, figured out a cure?
