Mail main window appearance

When I use to go to my mail box and clicked on a message, it appeared in the bottom half of the main Mail window. However, that no longer happens, I now have to double click on a message and it appears as a separate window. I then have to close or delete the message to return to my mail box. How do I get back to the original setting with the message appearing at the bottom half of the main Mail window?

Greetings and welcome.
At the bottom of your main window, under where the list of e-mails is there is a bar. Double click it, or click and drag it up.
That will open the preview pane and let you read your e-mail there.
If you look carefully in the middle of it you can see a small dot.

Duplicate Mail Viewer Window appearing without apparent reason

This isn't a leopard Mail problem per se. It was exactly the same in Tiger and stayed this
way after an archive and install (preserve settings).
I connect via imap to a server (Novell groupwise)
If I click and hold on the Junk folder icon and do Delete Junk Mail
This works, but automatically also opens up a new Mail window with all the folders to the left
etc as if I asked it to open a New Viewer Window.
It also happens some other times but I can't recall the conditions.
Yes, I have tried moving the preference file out to the desktop
and no, there is nothing special in any rules. I just have the Junk rule
and stop rule, stock standard.

Since it is a different provider, I guess we can't just blame the provider.
The only thing that seems to work with the iPad is to tell the unit to delete the email account information and then reenter the information manually. Doing that every few days is getting frustrating for the users over on the other forum.
That may be the only solution for your case, delete the account information and reenter all of it. If you go that route, I would say get rid of all of it, not just the password item. Something strange is going on here with OS's resetting information unilateraly.

I would like to create a pop-up window appear from Labview Interface. In this window, I will have a slide control and an image taken from a camera. The main VI have to run while pop-up window is open. How can I do ?

When I pushed a button, this pop-up window has to appear. There will be a slide control and a picture from a camera in this window. Is it possible to make appear this windows while main VI Interface continue to run ? How can I do this ? Thank you for your answers.

Here you go. This is simple example. Maybe not the best way, I am just
beginner in LV and still not comfortable with data flow that much. I prefer
events, so I would change this to use Event Structures.
When you click on OK button on SliderMain, it opens Slider.vi. Now both
windows are open and you can interact with both. Now if you click on OK
again with Slider.vi open, you run into problems. Only thing I did was
change VI properties of slider.vi, mainly window appearance.

"Compose New Message" window appears behind main Mail window

Sometimes when I right click on the Mail icon and choose "Compose New Message", the new message window appears behind the main Mail viewer window. This is very annoying. Anyone else have this problem or how to solve it?

Opening new Mail message in the main window

Hello,
When I get a new mail message notification banner in the right top corner of the screen and click on it, this message is opened in a popup window. I want it to be opened in the main window, like it does when you click on a message if you are already in the Mail app.
Is this possible? I can't find any option to change this in System Preferences or Mail settings.

If the Mail app is frozen then have you tried closing the app via the iPad's multitasking bar and seeing if it works properly when you re-open Mail ?
iOS 7 : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the Mail app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
iOS 6 and below : from the home screen (i.e. not with Mail 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

New Blank Email appears under main window

Is it just me or does this happen to others as well:
Click and Hold on the Mail icon in the Dock.
In the pop-up menu select "Compose New Message"
For me the new blank email window appears under the main window every time.

Yes. I tried what you said in your first post before posting mine, and it works as expected on my computer, i.e. the New Message window appears on the front...
Look for additional information that may be available in the form of error messages written to the Console:
1. Open /Applications/Utilities/Console.
2. From the File menu, choose either Open Console Log, or Open System Log, or both, so that Console displays the contents of both system.log and console.log.
3. Reproduce the problem and look at the bottom of the Console windows for messages that might be written there as a result.

Try this to determine the scope of the problem:
1. Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Accounts and create a new user account for testing purposes.
2. Either log out of your main user account or just quit Mail so that it does not interfere with the other user account.
3. Log in as the newly created user and set up Mail anew there.
4. For spam-related security reasons, go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled.
5. If you set up a POP account, go to Preferences > Accounts > Advanced and disable Remove copy from server after retrieving a message if it’s enabled, to avoid messages being accidentally removed from the server while testing.
6. Check whether the problem also happens when logged in as another user.

Try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
3 - launch iWeb and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

GUI Bug Outlook 2013 while sorting E-Mail in the list view in the main window

I found a bug in Outlook 2013 - following occures: in main window, when I sort the list view with e-mails by "sent to" or by "received from" and when I delete one mail from this list, the view is not correct, because after the deleted
E-Mail disapears when I go with my mouse Cursor over other e-mails in the list Outlook 2013 shows all mails from the top of the list (beginning in alphabetical or reverse alphabetical order) as I move with mouse over neighbour mails from the corrected view
instead of the same view with only that one item deleted. The scroll element right has the right Position, but after clicking on the arrow up or arrow down within this element it jumps to the start. This has worked in my Outlook 2010 well, and this is very
unpleasant because I can not work well everytime sorting my mails right again after I deleted one. This seems to be only the case if I sort my mails by Name, not if sorted by size or received/sent date, then list view works well. I use Windows 7 Ultimate x64
and Office 2013 x32, on HP6910 with ATI graphics Card. Whole System works fine since years. Is there any log file I can submit? Is my description clear? Please help , thanks.

Cp7 - Text objects appear in filmstrip but are not visible in main window

Hi all
A problem has surfaced this week. When I open up any existing quiz projects, text objects aren't appearing. You can see on the filmstrip in the attached screenshot that there are 5 text objects on slide 1. However, none are showing up in the main window.
Clicking the preview button has no effect, whilst if I try to double-click on one of the text boxes I am bombed out of Captivate.
The files themselves are fine as my colleague has opened them no problem, so I've tried uninstalling Captivate and re-installing but this hasn't worked.
I had a webchat with one of Adobe's support representatives who asked me to copy the slides to a new project. This worked but it's going to take ages to do this for all of our existing projects.
Any ideas why Captivate is doing this?

I have tons of general projects that combine various elements. However, the ones that have stopped working are those that feature quiz question slides. You're right, the slide highlighted in my screenshot isn't a question slide itself, but the same issue is occurring for all slides in any project that contains a quizzing element.
These projects also make use of the Google LMS Widget. I'm not sure if that is having an effect.
Thinking about it, I did install a MacOS security update over the weekend that was pushed to my Macbook. Perhaps that has in some way conflicted with the widget or quizzing element? Like I pointed out in my original post, I have no problem with any projects that include quizzing and the widget that I have created this week. It's just affecting any of these projects from before this week.

I used folder and table in main window. table takes the width of main window but folder does not takes. in print preview folder's size appears small then table. please suggest how to increase the size of folder.

Try this way , First create a window inside the main window then create your folder node. Generally if you are creating a node inside the node it takes the default of main window.

From what I can see, unless you're doing things with old versions of Xcode on a Mac (in which case, the solution seems to be to upgrade to the latest version), this seems to e an iTunes issue.
Accepting that it works fine with another iPad, I suggest trying the following:
1. Restart the non-working iPad
2. If that doesn't work, reinstall iTunes. If you're on a Windows PC, I suggest using Control Panel to uninstall all the Apple apps, restarting the PC, and doing a fresh install. If you're using a Mac, a repair permissions might help too.
iTunes 10.3 is now available, and that may make a difference.

Cannot get out of full-screen view of main window of Mail.

I went into full-screen with the main window of Mail, and now cannot get out of it, even when quitting and relaunching. Exiting full screen only shows separate window for the highlighted email. How can I reverse this?

Push your mouse cursor to the top until the menu drops down. At the far right corner is the leave full screen icon. Select it.

Mavericks Mail not showing main window.

I have just upgraded to Mavericks and Mail doesn't work. The first time I opened it, it imported all of my mail from hotmail and gmail, but then failed to open the main window once it was done. I have to force quit to shut Mail down after I've opened it. The drop down menu's only have very limited options active...every option under 'File' is inactive. Help. Mavericks is really living up to its name unfortunately.

Mail in Lion, cannot open main window

Hi,
After upgrading to Lion, my Mail is acting all wierd.
When I open Mail, the icon jumps and gets a blue dot like normal, but the main window does not open.
If I choose "New email" from the menu, the new email window opens.
But if I choose "New main window" (or whatever it is called in english), nothing happens.
I've also noticed that Mail does not seem to recieve my messages, because I don't get the red "1" badge on the icon when I should be getting new emails (I still get them on my iPhone though so I know they should be there).
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

I share your problem........desperate to find a solution!
