Mail merge and print one document at a time?

Hi all. I'm an Apple revert. I'm currently using the i7 iMac. Previous Apple computer was a //e.
I print an 8 or 12 page newsletter for my work. I want my printer/copier to fold and staple each document individually. Pages seems to send all documents to the printer in one huge file. How do I mail merge and print one document at a time?
[In Windows Publisher, there's a registry hack to make Pub print one at a time. Anything similar on a Mac?]

  • Printer only printing one document at a time....

    I have a Deskjet 990cxi and it is only printing one document at a time.  I've tried changing the settings in the printer menu, and no matter what I do, it still only prints one copy of the document.
    I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, and everything.
    Just so you know:
    XP Service Pack 3
    HP Deskjet 990cxi
    Connected by USB
    and---get this---there's NO ERROR MESSAGE.
    Thanks in advance for all your help.

    This is caused by the failure of one of your cartridges.  Remove the black cartridge and print a test page.  Does the printer print at normal speed?  Is so the black cartridge was the issue and should be replaced.  If not then put the black cartridge back in and remove the color cartridge and print test page.  If the printer now prints normal speed the color cartridge was at fault and needs to be replaced.

  • Open Word mail merge and print

    Hi!
    Any help on this would be much appreciated!
    I fear i may be asking too much but is there anyway using powershell to open a particular word document that is linked to an excel document for a mail merge, and automatically print the last record?
    Thanks!

    Hey,
    I'm relatively new to powershell and the great things it can do. But I used Google to see what would come up as a result. I found
    this and
    this which could be a great start for you.
    If I had the time I would test this out myself and post back some findings as this looks like quite the interesting request.
    If this is helpful please mark it so. Also if this solved your problem mark as answer.

    This is usually indicative of a defective print cartridge.  Suspect the black is low in ink or defective.  Please check all cartridges.

  • C7280 All-in-One - uploads hang at 12%, then 45% and prints one page at a time - broken pipe

    Printing upload hangs at 12% then 45%, then aborts printing with error message "Stopped - Unable to print data. Broken pipe".  Can this be fixed?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi JGarner98,
    A broken pipe error is a programming construct that is designed to 'pipe' data from point to point. From the description you have provided, it sounds like the operating system is telling yout that is has lost the ability to write date to the printer. This is generally caused by some sort of corruption in the CUPS printing system.
    CUPS consists of a print spooler and scheduler, a filter system that converts the print data to a format that the printer will understand, and a backend system that sends this data to the print device. CUPS uses the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) as the basis for managing print jobs and queues. - Source
    To fix this, I suspect the best approach is to reset the printing system, repair disk permissions, re-add the printer using the right driver, and try to printing again.
    Reset Printing System
    Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.
    In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan  dialog box opens.
    Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…
    Click OKto confirm the reset.
    Type the correct Name and Password.
    Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
    Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
    Repair Disk Permissions
    On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
    Double-clickDisk Utility.
    Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
    Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
    Once the repair is complete, restart the computer and add the printer back.
    When you add the printer, please ensure you are using the HP driver, not the AirPrint driver.
    Select Add other Printer or Scanner
    Select the printer you are adding and next to 'Use' you can the printer driver
    I look forward to hearing from you. Please let me know if this resolves the issue. Thanks.

  • I can only print one document LJ200 M276 and Dell Latitude e5430

    I am using a HP Laser Jet 200 M276 All-in-One printer with my Dell latitude E5430 The problem is when I print a document the printer will work normally  but if I try to print a second document it will not work at all.  When I bring up  the printer Queue it shows that the printer is still in the process  of completing the first document (which has already been printed)  and the second document is in the Queue waiting for the first to be completed.  The only way to proceed with the printing is use task manager to close the application, shut down and reboot. Then again it only prints one document. I have installed the latest driver and updates and unplugged  & replugged the printer and rebooted the computer.

    The driver should be part of OS X, not something you download.
    This link shows supported HP printers (6800 but no 6840).

    I suggest you delete the printer, turn it off, restart your system, and turn the printer on and add it back in.

  • Mail merge and custom charts?

    I want to give report cards of sorts to students. I want the info on the report cards to be populated by info from a Numbers document. I can mail merge stuff like names alright, but what I really want is a chart that shows the overall class average and the student's individual performance on the same chart.
    This would be similar to the Numbers Grade Book template chart, with the huge exception being that I can mail merge and create documents for a bunch of students rather than having to fill out each student's name individually to change the charts like you have to do in Numbers.
    I tried to add mail merge info into a chart, but it didn't work. Any other solutions or ideas?

    I'll try and break things down more clearly.
    I have student data in Numbers, including Names, Student #s, Homework Scores, and Test Scores. I have all of this info in one Numbers table.
    I can setup a mail merge with that Numbers document and can population Name, Student #s, and Homework Scores fine.
    For Test Scores, I would like to have a graph that shows the class averages for Test Scores and Total Scores (Test Scores + Homework Scores).
    The graph would ideally be like the one in the Numbers Grade Book template, with a filled in section representing the class scores, and dots representing each student's individual scores.
    I want a way for this info to get filled in automatically. I could copy and paste a Numbers chart into the pages document in order to get the class averages, but that doesn't help me get each student's individual scores in. If I could do a mail merge with info from Numbers going into a chart created in Pages, that would be great, but that doesn't seem to work. I'm not given the option to insert new fields.
    I'm open to any kind of solution. Initially I thought that I might have to use applescript to create a new sheet for each student directly in Numbers, but no one in the Numbers forum gave me any insight about how to do that (and I'm dead useless at writing applescript). Someone did suggest doing a mail merge, though, so I ended up here.
    Does that clear everything up?

  • Is it possible to print one document to two printers?

    I need to print one document to two printers at the same time.
    Can I accomplish this with printer pools in OSX Server?  I've found several 3rd party vendors for Windows, but nothing for the Mac.
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks!
    Josh

    Thanks Alec!
    Is there a way to get the print pool to print to both printers at the same time?  With the pool it just switches the jobs between the two right?
    I actually need to click Print once, and have it print on both printers.
    Thanks for your help!

  • JS: How to make a script to print one page at a time and set print job name?

    What I want is to print one page at a time to the printer.
    Document.print(false, app.printerPresets.item(0)) almost get me there. But how do I get it to print page by page? There seems to be no way to set which page to print to printerPreset.
    Also, is it possible to change print job name from the default of using document name?

    >Is there any solution to this other than saving the document to a different name before each page print?
    Here is an altered and abriged version of the script that I use. I use print preset called "PS to PDF" in it, so you should change it to your own.
    if(app.documents.length == 0){
       alert("Please open a document and try again.");
       exit();
    var myFolder = Folder ("~/Desktop");
    var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
    var myNoExtention = getFileNameOnly (myDoc.name);
    var myPrintPrefs = myDoc.printPreferences;
    if (app.printerPresets.item("PS to PDF") == null) {
       alert("Preset \"PS to PDF\" has not been installed");
       exit();
    else {
       myPrintPrefs.activePrinterPreset = app.printerPresets.item("PS to PDF");
    myDoc.sections.everyItem().sectionPrefix = "";
    myDoc.sections.everyItem().includeSectionPrefix = false;
       var stop = myDoc.pages.length;
       var w = new Window ( 'window', 'Printing PS-files' );
       var pb = w.add ('progressbar', [12, 12, 300, 24], 0, stop);
       var txt = w.add('statictext');
       txt.bounds = [0, 0, 200, 20];
       txt.alignment = "left";
       w.show()
    for(var myCounter = 0; myCounter < myDoc.pages.length; myCounter++){
       curPage = myCounter + 1;
       pb.value = curPage;
       var myText = String("Page " + curPage + " of " + myDoc.pages.length);
       txt.text = myText;
       var myPageName = myDoc.pages.item(myCounter).name;
       var cornumber = pagenum(myPageName);
       var myFilePath = myFolder + "/" + myNoExtention + "_" + cornumber + ".ps";
       var myFile = new File(myFilePath);
       myPrintPrefs.pageRange = myPageName;
       myPrintPrefs.printFile = myFile;
       myDoc.print(false);
    w.hide();
    alert("Done!");
    function pagenum(myNumber){
       if (myNumber >= 1 && myNumber <= 9)
       x =  "0" + "0" + myNumber;

  • My document seems to be in three distinct sections. I think that because the thumbnails have three distinct yellow frames around them. Can I merge these into one document?

    My document seems to be in three distinct sections. I think that because the thumbnails have three distinct yellow frames around them. Can I merge these into one document?

    Gill,
    The three sections are one document. There are usually good reasons for Section Breaks, so you'll want to be sure that you really need to delete them. To get rid of the Section Breaks, just place your cursor at the top of the page following the break and press Delete until the Section Break goes away. It should take only one click for each case.

  • Can only print ONE document then have to reset Airport Express to print aga

    The title says it all.
    Everything used to work fine until I installed Leopard. Now I can only print one document; subsequent documents will hang at 16% or 28%, etc.
    Anyone else had this problem?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    No, you are not the only person with the problem. I have tried it with both a "g" and an "n" Express (I bought the "n" hoping it might work better; nope). I have a Samsung CLP-510 plugged in to it. It prints one document, then I have to reset the Express before it will print again. When it tries to print the next document, it flashes "Unable to open device (read failure)!" briefly, then pauses the printer.
    It's been driving me crazy since I installed Leopard, so I basically gave up on the Express as a print server as there seems to be no cure, and Apple seems to have no interest in fixing it. (I have been through several firmware updates since the problem started, and none have made any difference).
    +Oddly, though, just now after the seventh reset, it accepted 6 of the documents in my queue (I had 22 in the queue, and I've just been waiting for it to pause, then resetting the router for each document) before it failed.+

    If you have sent a test print via ePrint, and experience this issue, i would call the Cloud Services department.
    If ePrint works fine, it is definitely a Google Cloud Print issue.
    Also, when you print from your android device, are you using Google Cloud print or the HP ePrint app?

  • InDesign CS5 only prints one page at a time.

    InDesign CS5 only prints one page at a time. No multiple copies. Each page in a document has to be printed one at a time. I didn't have this problem with any version before this. No matter what I do, change settings, etc. I still have the same outcome. How do I work around this problem so I can print a 5 copies of a 3 page document without having to do each copy of each page one at a time.

    Sounds like a printer driver issue. Can you export to PDF and print that correctly?
